A light ivory colored unicorn mare wakes up in her home in Canterlot. Her name is Twinkleshine. She had a really uneasy night with her nightmare where the world just goes black without any light source.
She stares at her white ceiling and after a little while, stands up from her bed. Next to her huge bed there is a little drawer what has a few books on the top. Her friend, Minuette gave those to her. As she stares at the books she starts thinking.
"If I recall well, today we don't have anything to do together. I should start reading them already. They just stand there for a long time"
She levitates the book on the top to herself. The light colored mare opens the book with her light blue magic and starts reading the book.
The book is about a mythical unicorn who could make other ponies wishes come true.
"Anypony can do this...." Thinks Twinkleshine. "Anypony can make somepony other's wish to be reality if she tries hard enough"
"You know, that isn't that easy as you think" She hears a lot deeper voice from her own room. "You can think this is the task that anypony can do with a little hard work, but you are wrong. Really, really wrong. Making ponies wish to come true is the most dangerous mission. And I need to say this, but you are the chosen one for this quest. If you take the chance."
"W-where are you...?" asks the unicorn under her pink mane. You can tell by her voice that she is really scared. She has zero idea where the deep voice comes from.
"I'm the book you idiot..." The voice takes a deep breath. "Who gave you me?" asks the deep voice.
"Uhm... My friend Minuette. She gave me all of the books what you can.... See? On the drawer."
"Not a princess? How strange! Well, I'm sorry for the rude introduction, but think that a myth is stupid when you are going to be the one who does it, it's kinda hurts."
"I'm Twinkleshine. Do you have a name?" asks the unicorn with curiosity.
"You can call me Guider if you want, but I'm fine without a name. I see in your book tower a brown book that has the same pattern as I do. It has a unique ability. I'll explain it, just find it. And do not open it yet." talks the book.
"Can that book talk too?" Asks Twinkleshine while looking for the other book. She finds it and levitates it too.
"No it isn't as talkative as me. So that brown book is the portal to the dream world"
"Isn't the dream world princess Luna's territory?" The unicorn mare slightly tilts her head.
"There are two dreamworlds. One where Princess Luna guards the ponies dreams during sleeping. And one is for their future dreams like.... Becoming the greatest wizard in all of Equestria. And in THIS dreamworld you need to risk your life, to make somepony's dream come true."
"Can I choose whose dream I want to fulfill?" Twinkleshine's thoughts runs towards her friends.
"Not every time, but sometimes you can do it. Bigger the dream, harder your mission." Explains it Guider. "And I can go with you to the dream world, so I suggest you to keep me close to you. I'm useful."
"Okay." The unicorn's look jumps between the two books.
"And I'm not the one who decided to go to X pony's dream, will I ever know whose pony's dream it was?"
"Not every time, but sometimes you can know." Think the book a little. "Oh and please, do not say about me anything to anypony."
"Got it.... So what's next?" Twinkleshine a little more hesitant.
"Do you want to try your luck?" Asks the book while the pony stares at her. "I can chose to how hard it'll be. I don't want you to die in your first try trust me."
"Let's do it!" Says the mare with excitement.
"Hold me close to yourself and open the other book." Murmurs Guider.
"Oookay." She levitates the book closer to her, and carefully she opens it. As soon as it's open it absorbs both, the unicorn and the book.
