Loyalty
Chrysalis sat on her repaired thrown. At the base of her thrown a beet and broken pony lay. Chrysalis sneered at the sight of her most hated enemy groveling before her.
“Tell me Starlight Glimmer how does it feel to have everything taken from you?”
“Y-you will not succeed you still haven't gotten all of us…”
“That rainbow pegasus does not matter, as we speak the reach of my throne grows. Soon all of the world be powerless to stop me!” She finished with a cackle. Off in the distance a loud boom sounded. The changeling queen turned to the gaping hole still in the wall of her throne room. A ring of rainbow light is spreading out ward in the distance. The queen sneered.”She’s an even bigger fool than I thought. Once she enters my thrones range she’ll fall like a stone!” She cackled once more. AFter a few moments Chrysalis’s sneer soon turned to a frown then to a look of anger. “What?! How is she still flying?!” As the rainbow maned pegasus grew closer a distinct red glow could be seen emanating from her.
“Stop her! Don’t allow her to get any closer!” The Changeling Queen commanded to her subjects. Thousands of changelings took to the skies towards the approaching pegasus. The sky turned black with how many their were.
The element of loyalty clung to her chest as she flew at mach one towards the changeling hive. The element glowed brightly as she came within the range of Chrysalis’s thrown. As she grew closer she saw a large black mass approaching her. Once all the changelings were within a few kilometers from the pegasus most of them made a break for it and deserted releasing their chances were virtually nonexistent.
“Gah! Useless, all of them are useless!” The Changeling Queen exclaimed in frustration. “I guess I’ll have no choice but do this myself!” Chrysalis took to the air as her horn powered up for a spell. Looking directly at the fast approaching pegasus she released a torrent of magic at the mare. As if it were in slow motion the pegasus rolled to the side avoiding the blast of magic. Chrysalis growled and released another blast of magic and once more Rainbow dash rolled out of the way.
She was gaining speed and a new rainbow cone began to form in front of her just like with the first rainboom. Her element also grew brighter with each passing second. Chrysalis once more threw another spell at her and once again Dash dodged it. A second later the rainbow pegasus broke through the nose cone creating another rainbow shock wave. She was now going well past mach two and quickly approaching three.
The Queen was getting desperate and began throwing spell after spell in quick succession in an attempt to stop the approaching pegasus. It was to no avail as the pegasus evaded the attacks with ease. The pegasus was now only a mere thirty kilometers away when a new rainbow cone began to form in front of her, this time however it was very bright and almost looked alive. Slamming her eyes shut and gritting her teeth she pushed forward.
Queen Chrysalis’ eyes grew wide as she soon realized just how fast the pegasus was approaching. It was too late however, by the time she even thought to make a run for it Rainbow Dash broke through the third and final barrier sending a rainbow shockwave in all directions not just in a single plane. The immense energy slammed into the Changeling Queen. It was not enough to kill her but she staggered back. However before she could recover she was slammed through the wall of her throne room at mach three. Her chiten cracked under the extreme force of the impact.
Rainbow dash did not stop though. She continued to beat her wings with all her strength and will. They were approaching the ground fast. Chrysalis made a failed attempt to escape by but is was no use. before long her body was slammed into the ground cracking her exoskeleton more and finaly she lost consciousness…
Starlight Glimmer stumbled to her hooves. Looking through the new hole in the room she could see somepony aroaching. A pegasus… Rainbow Dash, but something was off. As said pegasus returned to the hive she landed next to Starlight. The unicorn’s mouth hung slack jaw at the mare before her. Her mane changed and shifted in color and looked to be almost live. “Wow…” She breathed.
“Where are the others?” Dash asked
Shaking her head Starlight recovered from her stuper. “This way follow me.” She began to walk, but stopped.” Umm maybe you could destroy the throne first.“ Starlight stated as she pointed to said thrown.
“Oh right yeah that would be a good idea.”
“You think?” Starlight asked rhetorically.
“Hey give me a break I just crashed into an evil bug queen and mach three!”
“Fine, just hurry up before the entire world is without magic.”
Rainbow rolled her eyes before walking up to the throne. Reeling back with her hind legs she bucked it at its weakest point and sending it down to the ground far below. Starlight breathed a sigh of relief as her magic came back to her.
“That’s better. By the way how come you didn’t lose your magic.?”
“My element.” She said while pointing to the red, gem lightning bolt hanging from her neck. “Starswirl got it for me.”
“I'm glad chrysalis wasn't aware they had returned or we would all be captured.” Starlight said with a chuckle. "Anyway we should probably release the others." She said as she began walking to were their friends were being held.
Back on the ground Chrysalis regained consciousness. Looking up at her castle she snarled in anger and frustration. If they think they won they are wrong, I will return and next time I will not fail! Getting back on her hooves she takes to the sky… heading north.
