//------------------------------// // Things Get Busy // Story: Pinkie Pie's Chaotic Saturday // by CapNTilfy //------------------------------// Exiting her friend's house, Pinkie Pie skipped her way back to her home. One of these days I'm gonna get the girls to watch "Stormy With a Side of Pudding..." She sighed. Still deep in thought, she bumped into someone. "Gah!" Blinking, Pinkie blushed with embarrassment. "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry!" She said. Upon seeing who she bumped into, her face brightened up. "Heey! You must be new! I don't think I've seen you around here before!" Standing next to Pinkie was a man who looked to be in his mid-twenties. His skin color was a pale yellow, similar to Fluttershy's. His eyes a pale, icy blue. He wore a black t-shirt with a flaming yellow crossbow emblazoned in the center. In terms of height, he seemed to be a couple of inches taller than Pinkie. His hair was silver-colored, most of it hiding under the black baseball cap he wore. His shorts, too, were black and the flip-flops he was wearing was brown. "You haven't." said the young man. "My name's Golden Crossbow. Just moved in a couple days ago, to be near family." Pinkie extended her hand to offer a handshake. "Hiya!" she cheerfully said. "I'm Pinkie Pie! You can just call me Pinkie." Golden Crossbow shook her hand. "You can call me Goldie. Most of my family does." Pinkie laughed. "What a coinky-dink! I actually have a cousin named Goldie. How about I just call you Golden to avoid confusion?" Golden smiled. "Works for me!" he said as they finished shaking hands. "I can give you a grand tour if you want. Just the suburban area, though. I've gotten lost in Canterlot City tons of times, and I've lived here for years!" Pinkie's phone buzzed. "Oh! Hold on a sec." "I don't mind." said Golden Crossbow. Hey guys! - Sent by Sunset Shimmer Pinkie squeed. Sunset might be down now, but she won't give up without a fight!, thought Pinkie. Fight the good fight, SunShim! - Sent by Pinkie Pie Smiling to her new friend, she said "So. Where do I start the tour?" Her phone buzzed again. Thanks for the support, Pinkie! - Sent by Sunset Shimmer Now grinning widely, Pinkie snapped her finger. "Oh! I know!" she said. "Let's start at..." ---------------------------------------------- Once Pinkie finished her surprisingly quick suburban tour, her phone buzzed. Just finished installing the guard rails on Sunset's stairs. She's sleeping now. - Sent by Applejack Pinkie grinned and sent a text. I can't wait until she gets better! I'll hold a "Yay, You're All Better Now!" party! - Sent by Pinkie Pie Suddenly, realization dawned on her. "Oh, confection used as a euphemism for expletives!" she facepalmed. "I have that party I planned for an inconsequential character!" Running as fast as she could, she ran back home and stuffed all the necessary supplies in her hair. Exiting her house, she heard the sound of a dog barking getting closer. "Ack!" Pinkie yelped. "A chase scene? Look, I get the author's trying to reach his self-imposed quota of one thousand words per chapter, but is a chase scene really necessary?" Pinkie said, rolling her eyes. Suddenly realizing a squirrel was nearby, the dog that was chasing Pinkie ran off to catch its new quarry. "Thank you!" said Pinkie. "Now, off to the party!" Once she reached her destination, she took everything relevant to the party out of her hair, much to the shock and awe of all the attendees. Pinkie looked at all the people staring at her. "What? This party isn't gonna start itself, people!" she said with a wink. ---------------------------------------------- In the middle of the party, Pinkie suddenly realized she almost forgot to start planning for the party she wanted to throw for Sunset when she got better. Taking a notebook out of her hair, she started brainstorming ideas while keeping an eye on the party's progress. Her phone buzzed. She sighed. "What now?" she said. Still no changes so far. She's taking a rest right now. - Sent by Fluttershy Well, at least it's not adding to the craziness. Pinkie blinked and slapped her forehead. Pinkamena Diane Pie! Never tempt fate! she scolded herself. How many times has tempting fate gotten you and your friends into sticky situations?! she sighed, and sent a text. I'm already planning for the party! - Sent by Pinkie Pie Wiping sweat off her brow, Pinkie continued planning for Sunset's party and monitoring the party she planned. It was in full swing, with music playing, outdoor games, refreshments everywhere. Ahhhh. The smiles of people. Her phone buzzed again. "What is it this time?" she thought aloud. On her phone was a reminder that she totally forgot about. She almost screamed, but after taking a deep breath and letting it out, she texted her most trusted assistant. Hey, I need to leave the party. Can I count on you to keep it going? - Sent by Pinkie Pie Hey now, I didn't become your most trusted assistant be letting you down! - Sent by Party Favor Thanks a ton! I gotta book it. - Sent by Pinkie Pie She made a mad dash to her house. I totally forgot to feed Boulder! I never forget to feed Boulder! Catching her breath again, she grabbed an energy drink from the fridge. Just in case. she thought to herself. And for good measure... she checked her phone for any events scheduled for the day. Hmmm. Just a couple, so I can manage. She downed the energy drink. Mmm, Strawberry Charge. Delicious. She crushed the can and put it in recycling. She then began stretching in preparation for the remainder of the day. "Two parties and a jump-rope contest." Pinkie cracked her knuckles and her neck. "I may not have Rainbow Dash's super speed, but I'm up to the challenge. Bring it on!" She bolted out the door at a breakneck pace. To give herself some extra adrenaline, she threw sprinkles in the air, creating miniature fireworks in her wake. "Time to kick the rest of the day in the tush!"
