Awaken When you wake up, you're supposed to be in your bed trying to ignore your alarm clock that is beeping like there is no tomorrow, not in a creepy forest smack-dab in the middle of nowhere. I slowly open my eyes and greeted by the canopy of leaves, shading me free from the bright sunlight. "Ugh, where am I?" I muttered as I slowly sat up. Judging from my surroundings, I was sitting in the middle of a wide circle of trees, roughly ten feet away from the center give or take. There were puddles dotting the ground so it must have rained last night or something like that. "Welp, time to find civilization," I stated as I got up on my hooves. Wait a minute, hooves? As I look down, I saw I was indeed, standing on hooves. In fact, I'm fairly sure that my entire body has changed completely. "What in the world?!?" I screamed as I look into the nearest puddle. What I found was a mint green stallion with a dark brown mane staring right back at me. Then I proceeded to hyperventilate. "Okokokcalmdownyou'reaponyit'snotabigdealbreathinbreathoutbreathinbreathout breath in breath out ok... everything is A... ok." I gasp out. After I calmed down, I looked back into the puddle and studied myself a bit more. I was a stallion with a somewhat small but firm frame. My hair, (or mane I guess) was dark brown with the front dropping down in small strands to my eyes. Speaking of my eyes, they were pretty big, with chocolate brown pupils. Hmm, I'll give this look an 8/10 since I really don't like my mane dropping down to my face. But still, I'm pretty sure I am not a pony. I am a... uh... what was I before? Great, I'm stranded in God knows where and I have amnesia, what a fantastic day. Welp, it won't do me much sitting around, gotta get moving before something else happen. Ok, enie meenie mine... this way. 30 minutes later "I'm a new soul, I came to this strange world, hoping I could learn a bit about how to give and take" I sang as I walked through the trees. Normally it's not ideal to randomly sing while in a creepy forest but hey, singing helps me relax. Plus, it's rather very accurate to my situation. I have no idea where I am, I have amnesia, and the weirdest sense of déjà vu that I have somehow seen this before. There is the fact that my new pony body doesn't feel right. I mean I can walk normally and can somehow pick up stuff with my hooves (I found this out by picking random sticks and swinging them around for no reason whatsoever), I don't feel comfortable. Like I'm not meant to have this form. "La la la la, la la la la— oh wow!" I exclaimed as I finally exited the forest. A large town slowly came into view, bustling with ponies of all shapes and sizes. There were houses, bakeries, a building with a door and windows built into it (does that make it a tree house?), and off to the side, a giant apple orchard filled with miles upon miles of apple trees. "This town is actually a lot bigger than I thought," I stated to myself. As I walked into town, I bumped into a pink pony with an even pinker poofy mane. "Oof, sorry about that," I apologized as I backed up. She then proceeded to gasp loudly and sped away. Ok then... that was weird. First thing first, let's find where I am. Ponyville, right I'm am in Pony... wait, how did I know that? I never even been here before, but yet, this all looks so familiar to me. Yeesh, the déjà vu is really hitting me hard in my mental face. Right, if I'm gonna stay here, I'm gotta find a place to live. Is there such a thing as apartments around here? Oh wait, I probably need money too. Gosh darn it, how in the world am I gonna earn money? Oh wait, if this is a town, then there must be a town hall, right? And in every generic town, it's always in the middle. I can ask for a job there. 5 minutes later "Hello? Anypony here?" I asked as I walked inside. Wait, 'anypony'? Why did I say that? I meant to say anybody. As I pondered about this, a brown elderly pony greeted me. "Hello there! My name is Mayor Mare. I am the mayor of Ponyville," She said. "Nice to meet you. My name is... is..." I faltered. Oh no. I can't remember my name. Did I even have a name in the first place? Oh shoot oh shoot oh shoot. "I'm sorry, what was that? I didn't hear you," she inquired. "Um... Mason... Solstice. My name is Mason Solstice," I finally replied. "Alright then. So what can I do for you on this fine day Mr. Solstice?" she asked. "Well, I just recently arrived in Ponyville and I want to find a place to live and work," I said. "Ok, let's see here. Well, we do have one position open," "Really, what is it," I asked. "You can work as a librarian in the Golden Oaks Library. It also counts as your living space too," "Really? Alright then, I accept" "Great! Just sign here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, —" she said as she handed me a Mount Everest of paperwork. 5 hours later It was evening when I finally arrived at my new home. "Ugh, my hooves hurt soooo much" I groaned as I opened the door " Well, at least I can get some —" "SURPRISE!!!!" "GAH!!!!!" I screamed as I fell back from the wave of voices. In front of me were a crowd of ponies, filling the room and surrounding a table filled with drinks and food. "Wh-what's happening?" I stammered as I stand up. "Hi! I'm Pinky Pie! And I threw this party just for you! Were you surprised?!? Huh?!? Were you?!? Were you?!?" she said excitedly as bounced up and down. "Yes, so surprised that I almost had a heart attack" I panted as I tried to calm my heart. "Wait a minute. You're that pony I accidentally bumped into today," I realized. "Yep! That was me! You see, I know every pony in this town! And I never seen you before! Which means you're new! And if you're new, that mean you're haven't met anyone yet! And if you haven't met anyone yet, that means you're lonely! And that made me soooo sad, which is why I threw this party for you!" she replied back. "Oh, ok then, thanks I guess?" I answered uncertainly. "Well it's late, time for me to get some shuteye. Sorry, but thanks for the party Pinkie Pie," I said. "Awwwww, come on, stay for a bit pleeeeeeeease?" Pinkie Pie pleaded while giving me puppy eyes. " ... fine," I sighed. And so, the party started and lasted until 3:00. And I gotta say, it was really fun.
