Applejack stared off into the sky as she was laying down under the leaves, attached to branches. The sun was nearly setting down on the town of Ponyville. She had her dinner thirty minutes ago, it was her great cinnamon apple pancakes, she ate like five of them. She's still a bit skinny, she thought five was enough to fill her belly, but it wasn't. She made those pancakes with joy, but she doesn't feel any joy at all.
She's a bit worried about her family, siblings growing up and creating their own families, including her grandmother going to heaven soon. She also thinks about the loss of her parents, Granny Smith, Big Mac, and Apple Bloom are the only family members she has left. If anything happened to them, she wouldn't be able to spend with them when they're gone. Although, she does have her other friends to spend time with.
Her right ear picked up the sound of hoof steps coming toward her. She sits up and sees her sister about to greet her.
"Hey, sis.", Apple Bloom said, sitting down next to her.
Applejack chuckled. "Hey, Sugarcube.", she said. "What are you doing out here? I thought you were doing your homework."
"I just finished it.", Apple Bloom said. "It wasn't hard."
"Wasn't hard at all?", Applejack asked.
"Nope.", Apple Bloom said. "No question gave me a hard time. I came out here to check on you. You've been out here for thirty minutes. I was going to bring you something to drink, but there weren't any clean mugs left."
"That was mighty sweet of you, Apple Bloom.", Applejack said. "But, I'm not thirsty at moment."
Apple Bloom noticed the gloomy look on her sister's face. "Are you feeling ok, sis?", she asked.
"I'm ok, little sis.", Applejack said. "Though, I am worried about our future."
"What is it about the future your worried about?", Apple Bloom asked.
"It's about you, Big Mac, and Granny Smith.", Applejack said, as her voice started raising with pure sadness. "When you grow up, you might get married have a family of your own. Big Mac will be married to Sugar Belle. And Granny Smith's going to be dead."
"Oh yeah, she is getting old. Ain't she?", she asked. "Speaking of those other things you said, what's wrong with that?"
"I might not be able to see you again when that happens.", Applejack said, as a tear escaped her left eye. "I mean, sure I have my other friends, such as Pinkie Pie, Twilight, Rarity and the others. But, being away from you makes me feel so alone. I'm terrified without you and the others. Oh, Apple Bloom, don't you get what I'm talking about? Life goes on too darn fast. I wish I could make time pause, but there's no way to do that." She began to sob quietly.
Apple Bloom understood her compassions. There will might be a time where she and Applejack won't be so close anymore. Well, she is eleven years old, but in the next couple years, she'll be old as Applejack. She wiped a tear from her sister's eye with a hoof. "Applejack, I know it's hard to live on with your life in the future.", she said. "But, you don't have to feel lonely. I still love you, don't I?"
Applejack nodded. "Of course you do, Apple Bloom.", she said, calming down.
"You also got Granny Smith, Big Mac, and your other friends.", Apple Bloom said. "They love you too, right?"
"Yeah, I'd be alone in the world and have nopony to talk to when we're not close anymore.", Applejack said.
"I'm with you, I'm not too keen on being alone.", Apple Bloom added. "I don't want to lose Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo, they're the only friends I have in the world. I know I have my other classmates, like Diamond Tiara, Dinky, and Pipsqueak, but still, I'd be nothing if I don't have them anymore."
Applejack laid down with her hooves behind her head. "You don't ever hang out with Diamond Tiara.", she stated.
"Yeah, but she's besides the point.", Apple Bloom said. "We all know that when we live on with our lives, in which they go so fast, we might not be with ponies who are so close. But, if you love them, they always have a place in our heart."
Applejack smiles and puts a hoof on Apple Bloom's shoulder. "You know too much, Apple Bloom.", she crooned. "I'm glad you know how I feel when you move on to the future. You grow up and you have success in your career."
"Well, not only that, when you make your own family, you become a mom.", Apple Bloom chirped. "And you'll be having a baby growing inside your orange, adorable, round, plump thing." She laid a hoof on Applejack's belly and smoothed the fur out.
Applejack chuckled. "My belly?", she asked.
"Yep, that's what it's called. Or should I say, always called.", Apple Bloom snickered. A form or pink came to her face. "And, no, I'm not saying that you're fat, I was just... I was just... um..."
Applejack giggled. "It's ok, Apple Bloom, I get what you mean.", she said. "You know, when you get married too, you'll have a baby growing in your plump thing." She tickled the center of her sister's stomach with a hoof.
Apple Bloom giggled. "You know life too well.", she cooed. She leaned over to Applejack's belly and spoke to it. "Hello, little foal, I don't know if you can hear me, because I'm talking to you over this thick force field called a belly."
"You silly filly, there's no baby inside my belly.", Applejack giggled as a blush came to her cheeks.
Apple Bloom chuckled. "I know there isn't, I was just practicing my words when you do get pregnant." She continued. "Just to let you know that one day, you'll be brave and strong like your mom. I don't know if you're a filly or a colt, but I'll see you pretty soon. The voice of your auntie Apple Bloom banishing for now." She sits straight up.
Applejack smiled warmly at her sister's adorable cooing display. "You're going to make a great aunt in the future.", she said. "It'll happen... so fast." She closed her eyes and relaxed.
Apple Bloom looked at the sun, half of it was being lowered, which means the sun was about to set. "Applejack?", she asked.
"Hmm?", Applejack asked, opening her eyes to look at her sister.
"Do you want to go back inside?", she asked.
Applejack aimed her eyes at the sunset, then back to her sister. "Not yet.", she said, closing her eyes again. "Maybe a little bit longer."
"Well, I guess I'll keep you company then.", Apple Bloom said, giving her resting sister a wink. She liked how Applejack was resting against the grass. She glanced at her belly, it looked so cute moving slowly up and down. It makes her want to smooch the adorable belly to tickle her sister. Instead, she leaned over and laid the right side of her head on her belly to surprise Applejack.
Applejack looked up and saw her sister resting her head on her belly. She never knew her sister can be so snuggly.
Apple Bloom nuzzled her cheek into her sister's belly, it's so soft. She opened one eye. "Is this okay?", she asked.
"Uh... uh... Hmm. It's alright, Apple Bloom.", Applejack moaned calmly, not caring about her sister invading her belly's space.
Apple Bloom closed that one eye. She and her big sister rested until the sunset disappeared over the horizon.
