//------------------------------// // Two Weeks // Story: Falling // by Maddie Koester //------------------------------// Like Shining, I was grounded for two weeks. There was no inventing, no friends coming over, and only my parents to hang out with. I could still watch TV or play outside, but TV gets boring and it's not fun to be alone. At school, I talked with Shining even though I wasn’t supposed to, and she told me to ask what happened. Outside of school, I spent a lot of time with Dad; we would go fly kites, ride bikes, and we even went swimming. Those two weeks, I had the most fun with my parents that I had ever had. While we were going to get food for dinner, I asked him about Mom and Silver Spoon. “Why is Mom so angry at Shining’s mom?” I asked. “You should ask her yourself,” He replied “She never tells me, and I want to be friends with Shining, but they are getting in the way,” I said. “Just friends?” Dad asked, giving me a cheeky grin. I blushed and responded, “Yes! Now will you tell me?” “You wont understand,” He responded. “Why wouldn’t I?” I asked. “It’s about love and grown up stuff,” He replied. “I bet I would understand. Please tell me,” I begged. “Ok, but don’t tell your Mom,” he gave in. He told me about Polished Pebble, the CMC, and everything else. We were almost home by the time he finished. “Now I need to talk to Shining. Why does it have to be Friday?!” I moaned. “And I thought foals loved Fridays,” He laughed. “I normally do, but I can’t talk to Shining until Monday.” I responded. We walked inside and set the food down on the table. “Took you two long enough,” mom said sarcastically. “Don’t blame us, the line was long,” I said with a laugh. We sat down to eat our food. I found out a lot of information; I just had to remember until I could talk to Shining and we could come up with a way to get them to make up.
