After the three had finished eating, they flew above the forest canopy to begin their long flight east. Twilight was a bit slower to get high enough above the canopy so that Colgate could cast the proper spells. She glared at Twilight and asked, "Twilight, are you going to be able to do this? Are you going to be able to help move a time bubble?"
Twilight had a nervous look on her face as she had never aided in moving a time bubble nor did she even know anything about how time spells worked. She replied, "How do you move a time bubble?"
Colgate threw her hooves up in the air and shouted, "What, you don't know how to move a time bubble?" Colgate then realized that never in her life, whether she was corrupted or not, that she had never had to assist in moving a time bubble. She continued, "Look, just get up by me and White Magick so I can get us all in the time bubble and simply try to fly as fast as you can."
Twilight knew that Colgate was likely going to be demanding a lot of speed from her, speed that she did not have. She asked, "What if I can't fly fast enough? What if my wings aren't in good enough of shape?"
Colgate did a facehoof and had a bad feeling that it may be up to her and White Magick to carry her or even worse, if he hadn't stayed in good shape that she would have to work her wings to death carrying it alone. She sighed, "Well just try and keep up. I doubt you'll be able to break the sound barrier but oh well, we should be able to carry...."
White Magick interrupted, "Colgate, I have my concerns that even I may not be able to fly fast enough because I haven't been working my wings out as much as I should."
This did not sit well with Colgate. She glared at the two and yelled, "Seriously? You think I can move a time bubble AND carry two ponies with me at the same time?" She lowered her voice and continued, "Tell you what, how about you have Twilight ride on your back and at least try and fly fast enough to help me get it moving alright?"
White Magick nodded and motioned for Twilight to get on his back. Once she did this, Colgate gave her an intense glare before casting the proper spell,
"A bubble is what we need, so from frozen time we can be freed,
in this bubble we can move fast, while everything else is stuck in the past,
it is frozen time which through we must pass so we will never be late to class."
Colgate looked around and noticed that everything was as it should be. She poked the very tip of her horn through the bubble and cast the second spell,
"Tick tock, tick tock, look at the racing clock,
what is short is time and being late is a crime,
we must finish on top so it is time I must stop,
with time froze, it is my enemies I shall bulldoze."
Once she did this, time outside the bubble was frozen and they began to fly east. Colgate was flying fast enough that if she were on her own, she could have easily broken the sound barrier but with White Magick carrying Twilight, he was unable to fly as fast as he could. Colgate saw this and yelled, "Let her try and fly on her own, she's slowing you down, alright?"
When Twilight heard this, she flew off of his back and began to try and fly on her own. Since he was no longer carrying any weight, White Magick was able to fly much faster but the much slower Twilight was still holding them back. Colgate looked back and snapped, "Twilight, if you could even fly just a little bit faster, we could get this to work!"
Twilight began to flap her wings harder and despite it hurting, she finally got to going fast enough that they were able to break the sound barrier. For Colgate, this felt like old times, moving a time bubble. For White Magick, who had only aided in moving one a couple of times, it was a bit uncomfortable but for Twilight, it was horribly uncomfortable as she had never did this before. It would not be long until Twilight began to cry in pain, "My wings, they hurt so bad! Can't we please slow down."
Colgate ignored her question while White Magick gave her a concerned look and replied, "Twilight, it won't be too much longer, I promise and I certainly don't want to see you face Colgate's wrath."
Twilight gave him a smile and tried her hardest to get through the pain. After what seemed to be forever, Colgate ground the bubble to a stop and recited,
"Tick tock, tick tock, look at the racing clock,
what is short is time and being late is a crime,
we must finish on top so it is time I must stop,
with time froze, it is my enemies I shall bulldoze."
Once she recited this, time outside of the bubble resumed and then she recited the final spell,
"In the bubble time continues to run, but now the time outside runs and allows fun,
the bubble must burst so we can quench our thirst,
from the bubble we are now free and everything we can clearly see."
The bubble popped and the three headed below the canopy to near the entrance to White Magick's realm. Like it always was, it was chilly and like she always did, Twilight began to shiver. White Magick saw this and like he always does, he put his wing around her and gave her a smile.
Eventually they reached the chasm that is right in front of the portal when they heard a voice yell, "Freeze!"
The three found themselves surrounded by soldiers with spears but those would be lowered rather quickly when they saw who it was. One of the soldiers apologized, "My apologies your Majesty, we heard ponies in this area and we simply reacted."
White Magick replied, "It is ok soldier. It is good to see you're doing your job."
The three headed into White Magick's realm and like it always is when she crosses through the portal, Twilight felt a slight tingling sensation and was suddenly unable to use her magic. As they headed towards the palace, many of the ponies were watching them. Despite her and White Magick having grown close, they still watched her with suspicion and given that she had won Ruby's favor so long ago, they simply gave Colgate smiles, which were returned with the same.
Once they headed into the palace, despite having been visiting the king for a long while, Twilight was still met with glares of suspicion by the guards. White Magick ordered, "Look, I have an announcement that must be made so if you could round up everypony in the city, I would greatly appreciate it."
A guard asked, "What time do you plan on making this announcement?"
The king replied, "At 1700 hours. I am tired after our trip and I know Twilight is exhausted."
The guard threw him a salute before heading out to notify the city that the king was planning on making an announcement. After the guard left, Colgate asked, "So what are you going to tell them?"
White Magick gave her a glare before looking lovingly into Twilight's eyes. He replied, "I am going to let them know about how Twilight and I love each other, how we life bonded in Dream Valley and how someday she will be my wife and thus, queen."
Twilight embraced him and gasped, "Really, you want me to marry you someday?"
White Magick replied, "Yes Twilight, I do." He gave her a gentle kiss and continued, "And if they can't accept the fact that you will one day be queen, I will abdicate and return with you to Ponyville."
Twilight's jaw dropped open when she heard this. She asked, "Really? You would really give up everything, including your crown, just to be with me?"
White Magick replied, "Yes Twilight, I would. You have no idea how special you are to......"
They heard a gagging sound coming from across the room. It was Colgate, "Ugh, gag me." She then approached the king with a glare and continued, "And if they don't accept Twilight as their new queen, which I am certain they won't, you are just going to betray your subjects, abdicate and leave your kingdom without a leader?"
White Magic replied, "Yes, I would." He saw a huge smile developing on Colgate's face and knew she was up to something. He gave her an intense glare and asked, "Wait a minute, you have plans don't you? Are you going to invade and annex MY realm?"
Colgate laughed, "Of course not! I'm the only outsider that can use her magic here but if you betray your subjects, I'm certain I would be the one they will come to for advice on who to replace you with."
After so many millennia of trusting Colgate and believing that she was a wonderful leader and a true ally, he finally began to see her true nature. He finally saw the Colgate that took charge of that meeting in Twilight's castle so long ago. He yelled, "You're hoping they reject Twilight, aren't you?"
Colgate's facial expression became more neutral as she continued, "No, I'm not. I simply think they will, I'm not saying I hope they do."
White Magick rolled his eyes and sighed in disgust. He was not sure exactly what would happen if his subjects rejected Twilight and he abdicated but he was sure of one thing. He knew that Colgate would likely play a part in determining who would take over and realized that just like Coastal Equestria, his realm would likely be ruled by the military.
