The following morning arrived and the first to rise was Colgate. After what happened the previous night, she was not able to get much sleep and was in a foul mood. She also felt that they should get going so that she could get home by a reasonable time. She got up and headed into the library where she would find White Magick and Twilight in a peaceful sleep, embracing one another lovingly.
She glared at the couple and began to think about what they day would bring. The very first thing she knew would happen would be something that would make her cringe, them professing their love for one another and playing the "cute lovebirds" role around her. She said to herself, "Alright Colgate, its just for the rest of the day. If you can get through this, you can return home and begin making your own plans to take on your enemies."
As soon as she finished saying that, Twilight and White Magick began to stir. They opened their eyes and the first to say anything was Twilight, "Good morning sweetie, I love you so much."
White Magick replied, "I love you too Twilight."
Colgate gagged, "Ugh, you're going to start with that already?"
The two glared at Colgate and White Magick said, "Colgate, please don't be like this. I know you think I should be alone forever and think I'm betraying Ruby but I'm not." He took a breath before raising his voice, "You know what, I bet Ruby would want to see me happy, I bet she would want to see me feel whole again."
Colgate grunted, "Perhaps" she then pointed her hoof at Twilight and continued, "with anypony but your precious little Twily."
For the first time in his life, White Magick flared his horn up in anger towards Colgate and yelled, "That's it! I can not take anymore of you calling her names." His glare intensified as he continued, "Perhaps it would be best if you just left early." He turned towards Twilight and added, "I don't know about you but putting up with this is unbearable."
Twilight clung to White Magick and began to cry, "It is unbearable. I don't know how much more of this I can take!"
White Magick glared at Colgate and suggested, "You know, perhaps it would be best if you just left now. Twilight and I can head back to Ponyville later."
Colgate got a huge smile on her face for two reasons. She smiled, "So are you going to stay in Ponyville with your precious little Twily or will you be returning home?"
White Magick had a bad feeling about what might happen if he took Twilight home with him given her past and he certainly did not want to take her somewhere that she couldn't access her magic. He replied, "I think I will be staying in Ponyville with Twilight."
Colgate's smile became bigger as she continued, "You know, I can't help but wonder what your subjects would think of you bailing on them for an Equestrian and I'm certain they won't be thrilled you life bonded with her! You know, they may even consider it treason!"
White Magick suddenly became sick to his stomach. He definitely did not like what she said but he knew that they may very well view him as a traitor. He had a nervous look on his face as he replied, "They might....."
Twilight saw his uncertainty and realized what could happen to him, she became worried that his own subjects may overthrow him over this. She interrupted, "White Magick, I know your subjects will be angry and may depose you so I will understand if you go back without me. You can still come and visit...."
White Magick interrupted, "Twilight, you are more important than that."
Both Twilight and Colgate gasped, "What?"
White Magick continued, "Twilight, my love for you is infinite and if my subjects will not accept the fact that I love you and that we will be together forever, I will abdicate."
Twilight began to cry, "Really, you'd put me ahead of your kingdom?"
White Magick gave her a tender kiss and continued, "Yes Twilight, I will."
As she watched this, Colgate's level of respect for White Magick plunged. To her it was irrational and treasonous to put a single pony ahead of one's own nation. Colgate glared at him and asked, "So, are you going to go and tell your subjects about this yourself or will I have to do it for you?"
White Magick knew this was something that he would have to do but realized that it would be best if he did not do it alone. He sighed, "I will go and tell them about Twilight but I want Twilight joining me."
Twilight gave him a nervous look and asked, "Are you sure? I can't use my magic there and what if somepony was to do something to me?"
White Magick gave her a smile and replied, "Don't worry Twilight, I won't let anything happen to you."
Colgate gave the two a stern look and asked, "So, when do you want to go and tell your subjects that you put an enemy ahead of them?" Her voice became more snide as she continued, "When are you going to go and tell them that they better embrace her because one of your own is not good enough for you?"
White Magick screamed, "Enough! You know what Colgate, you can come with us and if they can't respect who I love, I'll leave and then you can help them find a new leader."
Colgate turned around, began to walk away and said, "Very well then. Let's get some food in our systems and then take off."
White Magick gasped, "Colgate, you really want us to fly that far in one day? That would be imp......"
Colgate replied, "Don't worry, I have my time spell and assuming somepony is in half-way decent shape, we can get that time bubble moving and get there at a decent time."
Twilight and White Magick looked at one another wondering if they should go with Colgate's suggestion. After gazing into one another's eyes for a minute, White Magick spoke up, "Very well Colgate, we shall go with your plan."
Twilight added, "But first let's get some food in our system."
By the time she said this, Colgate was already half way through the next room. Once they got outside, it was dark and dreary like it was when they arrived. Luckily for them though, there were plenty of bushes with fruit on them. Although Colgate had not eaten anything like that in thousands of years, she began to gorge on a plum bush.
Twilight and White Magick were a bit more apprehensive about eating something wild without even thinking about it. Eventually though, they knew that they would have to have full stomachs if they are to aid Colgate in moving a time bubble halfway across Equestria.
