//------------------------------// // The First Night // Story: A Pair of Pajamas // by Naryyn //------------------------------// “Hoo-wee!” A sweat drenched Applejack shouted, “I’m exhausted. I can’t believe we harvested that many apples today Big Mac. Would you let Granny know I’m not gonna be at supper tonight? I just want to take a shower and get some sleep.” Big Mac nodded, also looking tired. “Eeyup.” “Thanks big bro.” AJ playfully jabbed his shoulder, “I’ll see you in the morning for breakfast.” He chuckled, but winced a little at the contact. It seemed he was just as sore as she was. She laughed as well and headed off towards the house. Entering the door, she heard Granny grumbling to herself as she fiddled around in the kitchen. She grinned and walked towards the stairs but before ascending, she noticed Apple Bloom snoozing on the couch. She walked over to her and pulled a blanket over her sleeping sister and kissed her on the forehead. “Goodnight li’l sis. I love you.” After that she proceeded upstairs, with a small smile on her face, to relax for the day. Stepping out of the shower Applejack felt refreshed, still tired, but not as sore as before. “I am gonna sleep good tonight.” she said to herself before going to her closet. Opening it she grabbed her pair of well used and loved pajamas. As she slipped on the top she shuddered, “When did these become so scratchy? I can’t sleep in these.” She pulled the top off and threw it back into the closet. She didn’t like sleeping in the bare, but she supposed she would have to tonight since the shops were closed and she couldn’t buy another pair of pajamas tonight. She sighed and as she turned to her bed she caught sight of something sticking out of under a shelf in her closet. It looked like the corner of a box just jutting out like it was meant to be there. She pulled it out and saw that it was a clothing box, stark white with a brilliant red bow adorning the top. When did I get this? She thought. Pulling off the lid she saw a neatly folded pair of pajamas. They were light pink with little red hearts speckled all over it. She felt at them and realized they were silk. “Oh, I’ve never worn anything made of silk, but these feel nice. When did I get these?” She muttered,  “They are obviously a gift, but for the life of me I can’t remember being given them.” Shrugging she snatched them out of the box and looked around to see if anypony was watching, before pulling them on. She sighed, shivering slightly, “These are so comfortable, I can’t believe I never tried wearing anything made of silk. I guess Rarity was right about something after all.” She giggled and moved to the bed. Slipping between the sheets she felt the pajamas slide against her body. She shivered again, yawning, “I don’t know why these feel so good, but I ain’t gonna complain.” She closed her eyes and quickly fell asleep, the days work having its toll on her body. She slept peacefully not even rolling around like she normally did. This didn’t didn’t last though as she stirred a little when she felt a slight thump onto her bed. Thinking it was just Apple Bloom she tried to go back to sleep when she felt somepony lightly stroking her shoulder. She turned and opened her eyes ready to gripe. Applejack started when she saw who was next to her with a sly grin on her face like it this was normal. “Did I wake you darling?” Rarity whispered, “I didn’t mean to, I just couldn’t get over the fact that you are actually wearing silk right now.” She smirked, “Did you not always tell me that silk was only for ‘froo froo’ ponies.” She slowly ran her hoof up Applejack’s side before poking her muzzle. “Some pony like me?” She giggled softly and leaned in puckering her lips. AJ recoiled, “Rarity? What in the hay are you doing here? How did you get in my house?” Rarity shushed her, pressing her well cared for hoof against AJ’s lips, “Quiet dear, you wouldn’t want to wake the others now would you?” She grinned, “You should have told me sooner that you were willing to wear something so…” She continued her stroking, “So sensual.” AJ shivered at the soft touch and tried to scoot away from her friend. Why does this feel good? She thought to herself. Rarity sat up and pounced, pinning her on her back. “Don’t try to fight this darling, you can’t deny that there has been a spark between us for a while now.” She pouted, lowering her eyes, “Or have you just been leading me on for a laugh?” “R-Rarity,” AJ sputtered, “I don’t know what ya’ll are talking about. I haven’t led you on, I promise! We are just friends, I’ve never had anything to hold against you, but I have also never had those kind of feelings for you.” AJ looked around, trying to find an escape. She didn’t think Rarity would ever be strong enough to pin her down, but she was so weak from her days work that all she could do was struggle. “Please, Rarity, let me up. I don’t feel comfortable about this and frankly I’m confused to no end. If you felt like this why didn’t you say something sooner? Why’d you have to break it to me after breaking into my house and climbing into bed with me?” Rarity shrugged, “I may seem like it Applejack, but I’m not one to just expose my deepest feelings when other ponies are around. Just give me a chance could you?” She sniffled and looked away. AJ sighed, “I don’t know what you want me to say right now Rarity. I’m not gonna do that with you, I don’t have those kinds of feelings for you.” She felt really bad about this, but she wasn’t going to do something like that when she didn’t want to, not even if it was for a friend. “Y’all should really go home, we can talk about this tomorrow. I’ll come to the boutique and we can talk about this like civilized ponies.” She hoped this would work. Still sniffling Rarity looked back down at her, “At least just let me have a kiss. I promise I’ll leave after that.” Her eyes pleaded with AJ, a small tear slowly coursing its way down her cheek. “If I do that, will you talk to me tomorrow?” Applejack asked. She didn’t want to do this, but if it meant getting Rarity to leave, she’d give her a small peck. “Yes, darling. I promise. I just want a small kiss.” She started leaning in again. “Okay, but just this once.” AJ started to hesitantly move her head forward and closed her eyes. Suddenly she felt Rarity shift and yank her head forward. Their lips locked together with such force that AJ felt their teeth click together and tried to pull away. She was still weak though, and Rarity held her in place. She was gentle with her kiss though, she had to admit that. Rarity was very passionate about this and soon she parted Applejacks lips with her tongue, before pulling back. They were both breathing heavily and Rarity let AJ up. “Sorry dear, but I couldn’t help myself. I wanted to give you a taste of what you are missing by sending me home.” She hopped off the bed and walked towards the door. “Would you mind walking me to the door? I wouldn’t want to make a wrong turn and walk into Granny’s room.” She winked. “U-uh.” Applejack’s head was still reeling from the encounter and all she could do was nod. If Granny found out this happened there would be a harsh scolding and she did not want to sit through one of those again. She got out of bed and walked to Rarity. She quietly opened the door and they crept downstairs to the exit. When she tried the doorknob she found that it was still locked. Huh? We always lock our door at night. Why would Rarity lock it after coming in? AJ shook her head and unlocked it, letting them both out into the chilly night air. “Are you sure you are gonna make it home alright Rarity?” She asked, holding back the shivers from the cold. “I’ll be fine darling, don’t forget to stop by tomorrow alright?” Rarity started walking back towards town before turning back, “Just remember that kiss, I wanted to show you how generous I can really be.” She winked and continued on her way. Applejack sighed and went back inside, making sure the door was locked before heading to her bedroom and slipping into bed. “That was crazy, right?” She whispered to herself. “What exactly happened tonight? Should I be concerned that I will lose a friend tomorrow because I didn’t want what she wanted?” She sighed and rolled over, “No it will all be fine. Just have to talk to her honestly.” She yawned and slowly drifted into a troubled sleep. She was not disturbed for the rest of the night.
