Cadance and Shining Armor received a package from Twilight Sparkle which contained a small movie she had made with the help of her friends as a present for little Flurry Heart, and letter enclosed with it.
“Look, Flurry…” said Cadance “Your auntie Twilight sent you this.”
Her little daughter cooed and giggled, and Shining Armor read the letter.
“My Dear Flurry Heart…
You’re growing up very fast, and I’m very proud of you just like your mom and dad are, so me and my friends decided to make a little movie story for you to help teach you to learn and grow.
Rarity did great on the costumes, and we all played a special role.
Hope you like it.
Lots of love: Auntie Twilight.”
Flurry of course didn’t look as though she understood, but soothed as her mom and dad smothered her with love.
Soon, they setup a projector, and darkened the room so they could watch the video
The movie started, and the first thing shown was the tittle card “SPACESHIP SURPRISE” and Twilight’s voice was heard as the narrator.
“And now, let’s join the crew of, SPACESHIP SURPRISE!!
…As they travel through space in search of new stars and planets.”
As she narrated, the tittle card folded flat downward, stretched out, and then zoomed off into space!
The next scene shown was of the four pony astronauts: Captain Rarity, First Mate Applejack, and Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash in the back. All dressed in silvery shiny suits, as they flew in the ship across the cosmos.
The silence was suddenly broken when Applejack turned to Rarity, “Oh Captain…?”
“YES…!!” Rarity shouted so suddenly, making Applejack and the others wince in shock. Nevertheless, Applejack continued, “I know I ask this a lot but… mind tellin’ me, again, why we keep travelin’ from planet-to-planet and all that stuff?”
“But of course I shall…” replied Rarity, and she eccentrically began to holler “We do it because there is ONE THING that we love more than anything else.”
Applejack looked a little nervous, “Uh oh… you don’t mean…?”
“YES!!” exclaimed Rarity and she threw a whole bunch of confetti in the air shouting “SURPRISE!!!” and she leapt all about laughing almost manically while the others in the back dances about blowing party horns.
Applejack sighed, “I should’a seen that comin’.”
Suddenly, there was a loud crash as the ship slammed down hard, rocking all the ponies about. When the shaking stopped, Applejack peered out the window, “Hey. Look at that, we just landed somewhere.”
“Ah…” said Rarity “That certainly was a… SURPRISE!!” and she threw more confetti, all over Applejack, much to her annoyance as she brushed the sparkles off of her.
Rarity cleared her throat, “Well then, shall we venture out and see what more surprises we can find?”
“Oh, sure… Absolutely.” said Applejack, and with that, she the captain and the others dashed for the door in the back.
The next scene was of a strange world; everywhere you looked you could see pine trees, and pools. Even the sky seemed pink.
The ponies all treaded forth looking in awe at the place, although Rarity seemed more scared than excited like she was before.
“Oh Captain…” called Applejack.
“Eek…!” squeaked Rarity and she ducked down behind a bush, much to Applejack’s embarrassment, “Brave… Captain…” she muttered “Would you look at this place. Just what planet is this?”
Rarity nervously poked up from the bush, “It’s hard to say.” That’s when they all heard the sound of a royal fanfare, which frightened Rarity again, “Here comes someone. Maybe they can help us.”
While Rarity ducked down behind the bush, she and the others all watched as Pinkie Pie, dressed as a princess came hoping in on a pogo-stick. “WHEEE…!” she cried as she boinged along and stopped before the astronauts, “Hi there, Newcomers.”
All four ponies were astonished, “Captain!” cried Applejack, “That… that pony… she can talk.”
“What a surprise!” cried Rarity.
“Oh, it’s no surprise.” giggled Pinkie “If I couldn’t talk then how else could I welcome you to The Planet P.”
Rarity gawked up, “…The Planet P?”
Pinkie nodded, “Yeah… and we’re called The Planet P because everything we have here starts with the letter P.
I’m Princess Pinkie Pie, and this… is my Powerful Pogo.” She bounced all around, “WHEE-HEE-HEE…Oh!”
Rarity came fully into view, “Interesting. So that must be why you have all these Pine Trees, and Pools.”
“Precisely.” replied Pinkie “Because Pine Trees and Pools also start with P.”
All four astronauts were astounded. “This Planet P is Pretty Packed with Surprises.” said Applejack. Rarity agreed, and Pinkie giggled, “Oh, there’s more where that came from.”
That’s when the sound of snorting came, frightening Rarity back down into the bush as a Spike came along, dressed as a cute little pig.
“Oh, don’t be scared,” said Pinkie “This is just Pokey Perry the Pot-bellied Pig.”
Spike snorted cutely and said, “Perfect Precisions, Princess.”
Fluttershy and Rainbow came up and patted the little pig, while Rarity thought he was cute too, “The Planet P sure seems Piled with Plenty of things.”
Pinkie agreed, “We sure are. In fact… if you want to see something really Profound, why not ask our Painting Penguins to Paint you a Picture.”
“Paintin’ Penguins?” asked Applejack “You got Paintin’ Penguins?”
“Yes we do.”
The Cutiemark Crusaders, all dressed in cute little penguin costumes came out, all dressed like artists, caring brushes and pallets and paintings they had made.
At the sight of them, Rarity cowardly ducked down again, but the Penguins were nothing short of friendly.
“Anyone got any Purple Paint?” asked Applebloom.
“Nope, but I’ve got some Persimmon.” replied Sweetie Belle
“Oh, give me a Pint of that.” said Scootalloo.
Pinkie whispered to the others, “They’re a bit Peculiar, but they know what they’re doing.”
The astronauts simply nodded in agreement.
“Anyway…” said Pinkie “Now that we’re all here, I say we do what we always do to welcome new friends to Planet P.”
Rarity poked up from the bush, “Uh… what exactly is that?”
Pinkie’s eyes twinkled, and she whistled loudly, and before long, the entire field was decked up with party trimmings and snack foods, “We have a big Party… and dance the Pony-Pokey!”
“Oooohhh…!” chirped Rarity and she leapt out of the bush with enthusiasm.
“What a surprise!” cried Applejack.
Pinkie began to sing as everyone began to dance. Fluttershy and Rainbow even danced with Spike and the girls.
As the party continued, Twilight’s voice was heard narrating…
“And so… everyone on Planet P danced the Pony-Pokey, until it was time to Part ways, and Pursue other surprising Planets.”
“PARTY…!” shouted Pinkie.
“PERFECT!!” cried Applejack.
Rarity then looked right at the camera, “SURPRISE…!!” though it didn’t star with P, she threw more confetti “WOO…!!” and laughed hysterically.
The scene then faded out back to the title screen where the tittle appeared in from the space background, and Twilight finished the video narrating…
“Join us again soon for another exciting adventure with…
“…SPACESHIP SURPRISE!!”
The title vanished away, and the video was over.
Flurry Heart clapped her hooves and giggled warmly, she really enjoyed the movie.
“That was neat.” said Shining Armor “Never thought Twily could make such movies.”
Cadance agreed, and looked down at her cooing baby, “You wanna watch it again? You wanna watch it again?” she cooed as she tickled her baby’s tummy.
So they watched it again, like a happy family.
