//------------------------------// // Chapter 1 // Story: Harry Potter: Equestria // by Tailspin333 //------------------------------// Harry was in his home in the city of Murrain in the United States watching the news as he ate breakfast. He had moved there a few months after the battle of Hogwarts. He had found Ginny cheating him him and Dean one of his housemates at the same time. To Harry it was the last straw that broke the camel's back aside from the shifting view of the wizarding public and the things that happened to him and who he lost during the battle as well the reaction to him being the Master of Death after finding the Wand and Stone laying on his cloak and they reappeared after he tossed the two items away a few times. He does keep contact with a few of his friends. Luna, Fred, and Neville all let him know how things are in the Wizarding Britain world. He had a falling out with Ron and Hermione after he learned Ginny was cheating on him. He had left her and was getting ready to leave Britain when they came to ask him to give Ginny another chance. He refused and it ended in a shouting match between Harry and Ron. After that he never spoke to them again. A year after he left and settled down in the city he lives in which was a town then after getting the American Magical Government to agree in keeping quiet about where he is, they loved the idea for there had been some disagreements between them and the Britain magical world. a rift between worlds opened. before the American Magical Government could do anything the Muggle Government was there and soon contact between Earth and Equestria happened. After that there was nothing they could do but let it go. The fact Muggles didn't react badly to the magic of Equestrians was a surprise to all. Harry figured it was because they had gotten pass the reliance on religion to explain how things are things and the church didn't have the power it had before. Harry was interested in them and learned all he could without going to Equestria himself. After what he learned he was thinking of going to live in Equestria, after all it would be unlikely for the Magical world will think he gone there. He did some research and choose the town of Ponyville as his new home. He has been getting things ready to allow him to move and had just gotten the pass he needed for the portal. He had just finished when his phone ringed. He picked it up and. "Hey Harry. How are you today?" Mary one of his former coworkers spoke to him. He used to work at a restaurant as a cook using his cooking skills. His boss didn't want him to leave when he heard Harry was leaving. "Mary what's up?" He asked her. "Remember when you told me and a couple of others about your former friends? I think they may be here eating. Jack over heard them saying your name." She told him "Shit. Red heads?" He asked her. "Yes." She replied causing him to curse. "We're going a bit slower than normal to keep them here as long has possible." She tells him. "Well the portal is opening at 9:30 and will close once everyone has gone through. Keep them there till 9:50 and I should be gone by then." He says as he leaves the house and gets in his car. "We'll do Harry. Good bye, may we all meet again." She tells him and hangs up. 40 minutes later finds Harry at the portal gate sending people to Equestria waiting with a number of other humans and some ponies. He sent a note to the American Magical Government about what's going on using a post owl and is now waiting for the portal to open. "Portal gate opening in one minute." A voice is heard over the speakers. Soon the portal is seen powering up before it opened. Harry walked through it with the others and found himself in another room with ponies. He goes through the needed checks and changes his money and some small gold bars from his vault to bits getting 5,335 bits and soon he enters the lobby. He looks around and finds a wom-mare he corrected himself working at a desk. He walked up to her. "Ah hello?" He asked her. She looks up. "Hello. You need some help?" She asks him. "Yes. I'm planning to go to Ponyville but don't know where to go." He tells her. "You need to go east to the train station. Take a left when you leave the building and follow the road to a crossroads. Take a right and you should reach it in half a hour." She tells him. "I see, thanks for the information." He thanks her. He leaves the building and follows the directions he was given. He reaches the trains station and gets on the train after buying a ticket being lucky he came as it was arriving. The train left a few minutes later after he got on and most of the ride was spent just staring out and enjoying the beauty of the land. But when the train approached the village he'd chosen as his new home, Danny finally got his first glimpse of what to expect when the the train followed a bend in the tracks; the city of Canterlot slowly disappearing from sight and Ponyville taking its place. For a while, all he could do was just stare. Much in the same way he'd done when the colorful train first pulled into the station looking like it came out of a book; though this time it was much less from shock and more of a rising sense of excitement. A smile slowly finding its way onto his lips. The village, painted with many of the bright colors which also decorated the train, looked absolutely amazing. It had a welcoming aura radiating off it, beckoning anyone and everyone to come and visit. Several more minutes passed as Harry watched in silence as the train slowly came to a stop beside the platform; a steam whistle calling out the second the train had come to a full stop and snapping Danny out of his dream-like wonder. The guide he picked up from the table mentioned a town hall in the center of town, which seemed like a good place to start if he wanted to find the mayor. He walked through town taking in the sights. He paused for a minute when he saw a building looking like a gingerbread house before continuing shaking his head at the sight of it. He was about to look around more when suddenly a pink puff of cotton candy appeared in his field of vision from above. Followed moments later by two bright blue eyes. ''Hi, I'm Pinkie Pie. I-just-saw-you-walking, and-I-was-all-like: GHAAASP! Because-I-know-every pony-in-town, but-I-don't-know you. And-you-aren't-even-a-pony, but-a-human. The-first-human-ever-to-come-here. So-not-only-must-I-give-you-a-welcome-to-Ponyville-party, but-also-a-'Welcome-mister-human, you're-the-first-human-ever-in-Ponyville'-party!'' She said in one breath and with such speed all the words blurred together. ''GHAA!'' Harry yelped as he stumbled back and fell down on his rear. Somehow, this pony was able to climb on top of his head without him knowing. In fact, she remained firmly attached to his scalp even when he fell down, giggling loudly. 'How the bloody hell is she doing this?' Harry thought to himself as. ''Wha.. how... you... What?'' Harry's fried mind struggled to come with a proper response to the situation, but was failing miserably. ''I like you, you're funny,'' Pinkie Pie said, giggling constantly. She then jumped down from Harry's head, landed on the ground before him and bounced around on her legs for a moment, as if she was made of jelly. ''Don't you worry, mister human. I’ve got it all figured out!'' And with that, she shot off at a speed that didn't seem possible. Heck, he couldn't move that fast, not without some serious effort. ''Wait, who are yo-...'' He said as his brain finally caught up, only to see that the pink mare had disappeared. ''What just happened?'' He asked himself, when he heard a soft giggle. Looking to his left, he saw an elderly mare with gray hair standing there. ''That would be Pinkie Pie. She’s our village’s premiere party planner. She gets a little enthusiastic when she sees new ponies. Or, well, human in your case,'' she explained with a kind smile. "A little? More like a lot." He says as he rubbed his head thanks to the overload from what happened a minute ago hurting his brain. "Perhaps but that's how she is. So, what brings a human here?" The Mare asks him. "I'm looking for the Town Hall to meet with the mayor of the town." He tells her. "Well your in luck, I'm Mayor Mare The mayor of the town." Mayor Mare tells him. "So why did you want to meet with me?" She asks him. "I plan to buy a house here and I wanted to register for citizenship as well." He tells her fishing for his pass finding it partially hidden underneath a bag of bits. It was at this exact moment a small explosion could be heard and a pink streak flew off into the sky. ''What the bloody hell was that?'' He asks her looking at the streak in surprise. ''Pinkie,'' the mayor muttered, still dumbfounded. Not because of Pinkie's behavior, but the request made by Harry. ''Pinkie?'' Harry said in disbelief as he looked at the dissipating pink streak in the sky. ''Pinkie,'' the mayor stated again. Harry just stared at the sky, not knowing what to make of this, when he spotted a small figure falling down to the ground; hearing a soft "Yaaay!" He shook his head and followed Mayor Mare. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The two are now in the mayor's office filling out the needed paperwork. I would like to know a few other things, like where do you want to live? Or what about work?'' Mayor mare asked him in a serious tone. "I have a fair amount of money so I can get a home as long as the price for it is good. As for a job I had been working at a restaurant before I came here. Not one of the best once but my boss and coworkers say I should be working at one in one of the big cities but I was fine at where I was before deciding to move here." He tells her. She nodded and wrote it down. A few minutes later she pulled out a map of the town. "Now we have several houses around town for sell, before I start how much do you have?" She asked him. "I have 5,335 bits on me." He tells her causing her to freeze in shock. Harry noted it and said. "Let me guess, it's a lot of money." "Yes, it's a lot for a pony. You a say that around here your rich." Mayor Mare explains to him. "Well for me it's a couple of months worth of rent back at my old house." He tells her. "I should probably tell you I got a good number of bars of gold and silver?" He tells her. She looked at him prompting him to explain. "It's from my family's money. You could say we are old blood but we do work and some of it is added to the family account increasing the amount in it and don't draw on it unless we need to." He tells her which is true for the Potter Family. She nods in understanding after all a few pony families do the same. "I just want a quiet life here or quiet as it can be." He tells her. The two looked at the map of the town Mayor Mare telling him about the houses and the prices for them. Harry looked at them till one of them got his attention. It sits at the edge of the town and has a basement. "You said this is 55 bits?" He asks. When he was told yes. "I'll take it." He tells her. The two did the needed paperwork and Harry was given the key for the house after he payed the full price for the house. He give his thanks and left the office.
