It was a night like any other night. Twilight and the girls were in the castle for tea and sandwiches. It was a peaceful night but with some startling events unfolding. The girls were staring at the very strange scene in front of them. Fluttershy had turned back into Flutterbat, something they've come to expect during any full moon. But what made tonight weird was that she was talking with King Sombra! Or...rather...what they think is talking. It had been no secret that Fluttershy was helping to reform him after his body regenerated from a part of his horn found near the Crystal Empire. He was significantly weakened, tried by the princesses and released into the charge of the Mane 6. But this, a potential relationship between the former King and Element of Kindness, was something they didn't see coming.
"Um...should we say something?" Rainbow Dash whispered.
"What would we possibly say?" Twilight whispered back.
"Hiss Hiss..."
"Hiss..."
"This is highly strange, darlings. We can't let this continue." Rarity said. "I mean...what are they even saying?!"
"Hiss..." Flutterbat placed her hoof on Sombra's chest and blushed. "Hiss..."
Sombra lightly pats Fluttershy's cheek. "Hiss~"
"Are they...flirting?" Twilight tilted her head.
"Hopefully not. That would not be a pleasant thing." Rarity mumbled.
"Twilight, why aren't you jotting down notes?" Pinkie asked.
"Yeah, normally you'd be all over this. Finding a new topic to research is sorta yer thing, Sugar Cube." Applejack said.
"Well..." Twilight started, staring at the hissing couple in front of them. "I would...if we could understand them."
"Hiss?"
"Hiss Hiss Hiss"
Sombra lit his horn and brought a small bouquet of daisies to Flutterbat, making her smile a fangy grin and her teal eyes light up.
"Hiss!"
Flutterbat hugged her suitor and nuzzled him, earning a nuzzle in return. The girls blinked in disbelief.
"Did they..."
"Just..."
"Become a couple?"
"You know what this calls for? A PARTY!!!!" Pinkie Pie blew off her party cannon, startling Flutterbat and Sombra hissed at them angrily. Before any pony could blink, Sombra was barreling towards Pinkie and she dashed away.
