Inside of Twilight's body.
"Whats happening?" Twilight asked.
"You are mine, Twilight Sparkle," the voice of Parallax laughed, "forever."
"Show yourself!" Twilight demanded.
"If you insist," Parallax replied.
Parallax's form materialised in front of Twilight.
"Your friends can't help you in here," Parallax smiled, "there's nothing and no one that can save you."
"That's where your wrong," a voice answered.
Before Parallax could react, he was hit by a powerful blast of magic.
Twilight turned to see who had fired the blast and gasped, it was Midnight Sparkle.
Parallax hissed, "Who are you?!" he snarled.
"Your worst nightmare," Midnight replied.
"Midnight Sparkle," Twilight said, "why are you....?"
"You maybe an idiot," Midnight responded, "but your my idiot."
With that, Midnight fired another blast at Parallax.
Outside of Twilight's body.
The girls, their teammates and their allies had managed to restrained Twilight and were now waiting.
"What are we suppose do now?" Superboy asked.
"We can't help Twilight, now," Sunset replied, "all we can do is hope that Twilight can fight this evil on her own."
"Come on, Twilight," Pinkie cheered, "we believe in you."
Inside of Twilight's body.
The battle between Midnight and Parallax was evenly matched.
both beings blasting each other with energy attacks.
"You and I are the same," Parallax commented, "we both are vessels of fear, birds of a feather."
"That maybe so," Midnight retorted, "but if anyones going to live inside Twilight's head its going to be me."
Midnight fired another blast at Parallax, which he dodged and fired back.
All this was going on, while Twilight looked on.
"I never thought I'd ever see anything like this," she thought, "my dark side fighting to keep me safe, maybe there is a good in Midnight after all."
Back with the fight between Midnight and Parallax, the battle was nearing its end.
Midnight appeared to be winning against Parallax.
"Looks like I've won," Midnight smiled, "surrender."
"NEVER!" Parallax declared.
He fired one final blast in Twilight's direction.
but, at the last moment, Midnight throw herself in front of Twilight, shielding her from the blast.
"Midnight!" Twilight exclaimed, as Midnight fell to the ground.
"Finally," Parallax smiled, "no more distractions and much more destruction."
"You haven't won, yet," Midnight choked, getting to her feet, "I may be down, but I'm not out."
"Time to take you out of the equation," Parallax smirked.
Midnight blasted Parallax with everyone she had.
Parallax retaliated with a similar blast of energy.
The two blasts collided, both beings using everything they had to overwhelm the other.
At the last minute, it looked Parallax was going to win, but only for Midnight to push through the attack and finish off Parallax, expelling the entity from Twilight's body.
"Midnight Sparkle!" Twilight cried, as Midnight fell to the ground weakened.
"So this is what doing something good feels like," Midnight said, smiling weakly, "it actually feels good."
She had used up all her energy to expel Parallax from Twilight's body and she was beginning to fade away.
"Midnight," Twilight said, holding back her tears, "Why? Why, did you save me?"
"like I said," Midnight replied, "your my idiot and no messes with my idiot."
Twilight couldn't hold back her tear anymore.
"Thank you, Midnight," she said, through her tears, "thank you."
"Don't worry about me, Twilight," Midnight smiled, "I'll always be with you."
With that, Midnight Sparkle faded away into nothing.
Outside of Twilight's body.
Twilight gasped and jerked awake.
"Twilight!" the rest of the girls cried.
"I'm glad your alright," Sunset said.
"What happened to Parallax?" Twilight asked.
Ms. Marvel pointed to where Parallax lay, defeated.
"Well," Beast Boy said, "what do we do with this thing?"
"I believe Parallax will come with me," a voice answered.
Everyone turned to see, Sinestro accompanied by Ganthet and Sayd, the last surviving members of the Guardians of the Universe.
"Sinestro will take Parallax far from away from this world," Ganthet said.
"Ganthet and I will take Hal Jordan to Oa to stand trial," Sayd finished.
Ganthet nodded to Sinestro, who held out his yellow ring and Parallax was sucked inside of it.
"What happens now?" Sunset asked.
"You are all the protectors of this space sector," Ganthet replied, "carry on, the people of this world need hope and something to believe in."
The two guardians turned to Sinestro, "It's time for us to leave," Sayd said.
Sinestro nodded, "I will go," he responded, he turned to face the girls, "the next time we meet, we will be enemies."
With that, Sinestro and the two guardians vanished.
"Well," Ms Marvel breathed, "that was a thing."
"Yeah," Gwenpool breathed, "far out."
"Hey, you guys," Pinkie said, "you know what this calls for?"
"A party?" Cyclops replied.
"Yep," Pinkie nodded, "a party!"
Back at CHS.
The celebration of the Champions victory over Parallax was in full swing.
Everyone was partying and having a good time.
Some of them were using their powers in humorous ways: Quicksilver using his super speed in a pie eating contest with Rainbow Dash and the other speedsters, Miss Martian and Reptil shapeshifting into various forms on the dance-floor, Kate Bishop and Arsenal playing pin the tail on the donkey, Plastic man's son Luke Ernie O'Brian a.k.a. Offspring apple-bobbing with Ms. Marvel and Superboy arm wrestling with Miss America.
Also with the Champions and their friends, Spike had brought along some of his new friends, members of The Legion of Super-pets.
The members of the legion that were attending the party were: Krypto the Superdog, Ace the Bat-hound along with his sidekick Robert 'Robbie' the Robin, Streaky the Supercat, Buddy a.k.a. Stretch-O-Mutt and Lockheed the Dragon.
Amides all the fun and games, Sunset noticed Twilight was looking a little sad.
"You okay?" Sunset asked, approaching her friend.
"Yeah," Twilight answered, "it's just when I was fighting Parallax in my mind, Midnight Sparkle was there."
"Midnight Sparkle?" Sunset gasped, "what happened next?"
"She fought Parallax to keep me safe," Twilight replied, "she scarified herself to save me."
"I'm sorry Twilight," Sunset said.
"She's gone," Twilight sighed, "she was a part of me and now she's gone."
"Not necessarily," Sunset replied, "things can be remembered, and if something is remembered it can come back."
Twilight smiled, "Thanks."
And with that, the two best friends joined in the party.
