//------------------------------// // Starlight's Revenge // Story: Skylanders X MLP // by Skylander545 //------------------------------// At the Canterlot Portal Chamber, Princess Celestia watched as the Portal of Power activated as Spike, Trail Blazer, Ember, Crash, Aku-Aku, Eye-Brawl and Dive-Clops appeared from the portal. Once the team shook off the effects of the portal, Celestia spoke, “Welcome home, Skylanders.” Spike looked at the alicorn, “Well, that was quite a mission. But we managed to gather an army to help us fight.” Celestia nodded as she motioned the team to follow her out of the portal chamber, “You have went far since you left home, Spike. You saved Trail Blazer from Starlight Glimmer when your journey first began.” The unicorn smiled, “And we managed to expose her for a fraud.” The alicorn continued, “You, Eye-Brawl and Trail Blazer teamed up with Princess Ember to save her home from Malefor’s Army.” The dragoness added, “And Spike chose me to become the next Dragon Lord.” Celestia answered, “Yes, he did. You and Trail Blazer also discovered a Rift Engine in the volcano which turned you into a Supercharger.” Ember was curious, “I was actually curious about why was it there in the first place and what power do they possess” Spike stated to Celestia, “I told her about the Superchargers and how they are also granted a vehicle powered by the Rift Engine.” Celestia understood as they approached their destination, “Which is why we are going here.” She opened the door as the team saw several Mabu and Pony mechanics working on several vehicles ranging from land, sea and sky. The alicorn spoke to the team, “Welcome to the vehicle bay. It was installed after the Superchargers were formed.” Ember asked, “Is this where I get my vehicle?” Celestia nodded as she said, “The mechanics would help you with your craft. What you need is to determine which vehicle type is more suitable for you.” Ember stated, “I prefer flying and taking out those monsters from the air.” Spike smiled, “A Sky Vehicle then.” Celestia understood, “The mechanics were working on a vehicle shell with a dragon design to it.” She turned to a mabu mechanic, “Nort, can you show Ember to her vehicle?” Nort turned to the group and nodded, “You can count on me, your highness.” Dive-Clops soon spoke, “Wait, I’d like to become a Supercharger.” Celestia smiled, “You have my permission, but your Dive Bomber submarine needs to have a Rift Engine installed.” The Eyeball joined with Ember as the dragoness spoke, “We’ll stay here and get our vehicles running.” Spike nodded, “Take care of yourselves, guys.” Soon enough, Celestia led the others out as they walked down the hallway. Eye-Brawl said, “I need to meet up with the others and tell them about what happened.” Celestia was concerned, “Griffonstone was troubling. I read the report that the Doomlander had stalled you in order to resurrect Arimaspi.” The giant knew, “We have to be careful in case they have that same trick up their sleeves.” Aku-Aku spoke, “We also wish to add another Sensei to your ranks.” The alicorn looked at the talking tribal mask and realized, “You must be Aku-Aku, Crash’s translator?” The bandicoot did his signature dance as he ended with playing with a yo-yo. Aku-Aku replied, “That is correct and he wishes to become a Sensei to train the Imaginators.” Spike asked, “By the way, Mom. Who created the Imaginators?” Celestia stated, “Ray and Dr. Krankcase refined the Imaginite you found into three Creation Crystals. But we needed a vast imagination to create these new Skylanders.” Spike was about to ask until he was suddenly jumped by three familiar fillies as they piled on top of the Purple Dragon. “Spike, you’re back!” yelled Scootaloo. Sweetie Belle spoke, “We were actually worried about you. Rarity was worried as well!” Applebloom asked, “How did you like our Imaginators, Spike?” As the purple dragon got up, he saw the three fillies as he asked, “Your Imaginators?” The farm filly replied, “Eeyup, we made them.” Scootaloo nodded, “Hey, the power was in our imagination to create those awesome Skylanders.” Sweetie Belle spoke, “And because of the Imaginite you sent us, we were able to create them and give them their battle class.” Spike chuckled, “So, Quick-Blaze, Radiant Sun, and Tidal Wave were your creations.” The three smiled as the unicorn filly stated, “We’re their Imagineers!” Celestia explained, “When we were developing the Sensei Initiative, we needed a way to turn Creation Crystals into Skylanders.” Spike asked, “That’s when you realized that needed somepony with a very active imagination?” Celestia smiled and said, “That would be three imaginations. And since they have their minds at work…” Applebloom finished, “She came to us, noticed most of our drawings of our own Skylanders and asked us to bring ‘em to life!” Spike chuckled, “So that’s how you became Imagineers.” He suddenly felt tired all of a sudden when he started to yawn. Celestia noticed, “You’ve fought a great battle, Spike. But I think you should lie down.” Spike went back to the portal chamber, “I’ll just take the portal to the library and crash there.” The five went to chamber, not before parting ways with Crash and Trail Blazer as Celestia activated the portal setting it to the Golden Oaks Library. Spike stepped onto the portal as Celestia said, “I almost forgot, it’s good to have you back.” The Purple Dragon smiled, “Thanks Mom.” The CMC watched as Spike disappeared into the portal while waving at him. Spike reappeared in front of the library in Ponyville, he looked around to see if Pinkie was around. He was too tired for Pinkie to throw him a ‘Welcome Home’ Party just yet. He opened the door and looked to see if Twilight was around and to his surprise, she wasn’t. “She’s probably at Cloudcracker Base, she’s been going there and taking notes on the base’s structure and ingenuity. Classic Twilight.” ,chuckled Spike as he made his way to the stairs. He walked up the stairs, passed Twilight’s bed and his old basket, although he had to stop and look at his old bed, “It almost seems like yesterday I was a hatchling just willing to sleep through the whole day. But now I’m a well-known dragon and Hero of the Crystal Empire as they all call me.” He sighed as he went to the door to his room, which he moved in there after his little transformation. But as he opened the door to his room, he suddenly had a bad feeling in his gut about what’s about to happen as his senses were screaming ‘Ambush!’ But Spike shrugged it off as he took it as a false signal, he was already in battle once. But he would soon realize how wrong he was when a voice said, “Welcome home, Spike!” And there, lying on his bed was a pony that Spike thought that he would never see again, a pony that shook him to his core, Starlight Glimmer. She had a smug look on her face and asked, “Enjoyed gathering your army for your war?” Spike sighed, “Really Starlight? Of all the places, you had to be in my room?” Starlight stated, “Why not? It was the only place that you would go to after a tiring journey. And it would be the place where you will pay for what you did to me!” Spike stated, “You’re mad because I exposed you for a fraud at your village. I couldn’t let you get away with kidnapping Trail Blazer and lying to your followers.” Starlight pointed her hoof at Spike, “My village was a sanctuary of equality, where nopony's cutie mark allowed them to feel superior! It was a special place, and you and your friends took it away! Now it's my turn to take something special from you! Without the rainboom, you will never hatch and your friends will never form your special cutie mark bonds! You never existing and cutie marks for cutie marks! Sounds like a fair trade to me!” Spike shook his head, “No, it’s not a fair trade. You erase me from existence and everypony will die!” Starlight asked, “How are you so sure?” Spike gave her a serious gaze as he said, “I just know.” The unicorn laughed, “What do you know about the fate of the world? Once you’re gone, then I will see the utopia that will be brought upon by equality!” She began to perform the time travel spell, “I will see you never, Spike!” Spike realized that she intends to go back in time and stop the Rainboom from happening. Whatever sleepiness he had was replaced by adrenaline as he tackled her, “Well, I’m not taking this lying down! I’m going to stop you!” Soon enough, Spike’s own time powers came into play as the power of unicorn and dragon magic merged and in a flash of light, Spike and Starlight were gone. In the skies of Cloudsdale, the young pegasus filly, Rainbow Dash was preparing to race against the bullies that picked on a shy filly, it was her chance to prove that she was the fastest. And as the race began, they sped out of the starting line, knocking the shy pegasus filly with the flag off the cloud. As the racers were soaring through the skies, Rainbow started to notice a flash of light appear in the skies. As the light grew larger, it exploded, flinging the racers off-course as the pegasus filly saw a Purple Dragon and a Unicorn mare locked in battle. Rainbow watched the duel and was amazed by it, “A dragon battling a unicorn? Sweet!” The unicorn used her magic abilities to fly while the dragon launched several attacks on her. The dragon was not only breathing fire, but lightning, ice and earthen magic. The unicorn shot a magic blast which knocked the dragon onto the cloud where Rainbow was sitting on to watch the battle, she was also holding a bag of popcorn. The dragon got up and turned to his opponent as he said, “I won’t let you alter the timeline, Starlight!” Starlight chuckled, “Oh I already have, Spikey boy!” The dragon turned to see Rainbow as he said, “What are you doing? Fly, Rainbow. Fly like you’ve never flown before!” Rainbow Dash shook her head, “No way, scales. This is the best I’ve seen so far.” Soon enough, Starlight noticed something strange about Spike, “Why aren’t you being erased from existence?!” Spike took her momentary confusion as an opening for a tail strike as he sent her flying, he chuckled, “Looks like Starlight Glimmer is blasting off!” He sighed as he collapsed on the cloud, “Why didn’t I disappear?” The filly approached, “Okay, I don’t know who you are or how you know my name, but that was so awesome!” Spike looked at the filly, “I know, but you have to get back to Cloudsdale. I’ll catch up when I can.” Spike immediately took to the skies, leaving the confused Rainbow behind. As he was in flight, he saw the Equestria landscape from Ponyville, Whitetail Wood, the Everfree forest and Canterlot. ‘Canterlot?’ thought Spike as it came back to him, “The School! Something must’ve happened at the school!” With that being said, he flew towards the capital city. At Princess Celestia’s School for Gifted Unicorns, the unicorn filly, Twilight Sparkle was attempting to pass her entrance exam by getting the dragon egg to hatch with her magic. But after many attempts to get her magic powerful enough to hatch it. She realized that she wasn’t powerful enough to hatch the egg. She sadly lowered her head at the professors and sadly said, “I’m sorry...for wasting your time.” She was sad that she couldn’t hatch the egg, sad that she couldn’t be skilled with magic. She saw the look in her parent’s eyes as well as the judging eyes of the professors as they wrote down the results. It wasn’t until a noticeable shriek occurred throughout the room. It caused Twilight to look around for the source as well as stopping the professors from writing their results. As she scanned her eyes over the room, that shriek happened again, but this time - it felt closer than it was before until she figured out the source - It came from the dragon egg. It soon started to shake and glow as cracks began to appear on the shell. Twilight stood back as her parents backed against the wall while the professors were too terrified to even take notes. As the egg shook and jumped, more cracks began to show until a piece of the shell gave out and - A small wing broke through the shell. The unicorns could only watch as the egg started to hatch on its own. They were also unaware of a shadow slipping in and hiding in the shadows. But as the shell broke, another wing appeared, followed by a small set of foreclaws, hind claws emerging from the shell as well as a small dragon tail. Soon enough, the head of the baby dragon emerged from the egg. It yawned as it felt very tired from the hatching process. It rested on the remains of its eggshell and fell asleep. Those in the room were frightened by the events as Princess Celestia arrived and asked, “What is going...on...here?” She paused in between when her gaze fell upon the hatchling asleep in the nest. Twilight could see tears in the princess’s eyes as the alicorn smiled. But her smile faded as she asked the filly, “Twilight Sparkle, did you hatch the egg?” Twilight frowned, “No, it...it hatched on its own. I’m so sorry, I wasn’t powerful enough to hatch it myself.” “Don’t doubt yourself, Twilight. You are more talented in magic than you think.” Said a voice from the shadows. Celestia looked to the shadows and asked, “Who are you?” The voice replied, “Someone you know, someone who you cared for when I was still an egg.” Celestia was curious and saw the shadow and said, “Come into the light.” The shadow sighed as he stepped forward, revealing the purple scales, green horns, frills, spines, wings and tail. No pony could believe this, but they were staring at a grown dragon. Twilight looked at the newcomer and at the baby dragon several times and asked, “Are you…” The dragon shook his head, “No, I’m not his parent, but he’s in terrible danger.” Celestia asked, “How is he in danger?” The dragon confessed, “My name is Spike, I’m from the future. There’s a unicorn from the future that’s trying to prevent me from ever existing. I’m your son well except I’m all grown up, Mom.” Celestia could see the look of vigilance, determination, but kind and caring in Spike’s eyes and looked at the baby dragon that’s sleeping in the nest, ‘A unicorn wants to erase my baby from existence? I didn’t spend 5 years caring for him as an egg just to see him taken from me!’ She went to the nest and gently lifted the hatchling with her magic, “You speak the truth, Spike. We can’t let that unicorn get to him.” Spike nodded, “But I first need to rebuild the fractured timeline, make sure that everything was the way that it occurred today.” Twilight asked, “What was supposed to happen?” Spike sadly stated, “You and five others were supposed to get your cutie marks today.” The filly lowered her head in sadness as Celestia spoke while holding the hatchling, “There is still hope to return you back to your timeline.” Spike noticed something, “But in Starswirl the Bearded’s notes, the time traveler would return to their time period after a few minutes. But I’m not going back. I did remember tackling the unicorn, Starlight Glimmer while she was performing the spell. Unless…” He realized, “My Time Powers!” Celestia asked, “What are you saying?” He answered, “When I tackled Starlight, my dragon powers merged with hers sending us here with no time limit!” Twilight asked in surprise, “Dragons can do magic?!” Spike answered, “They’re more like abilities in my opinion.” Celestia had an idea, “We could reverse the time travel spell, but we need to stick with your plan.” Spike understood, “Fix the timeline.” He looked at Twilight’s parents and asked, “Is it okay with you two that we borrow Twilight. We need her help with the situation.” Nightlight replied, “Well, if it involves a timeline that should’ve happened. We’ll allow it.” Twilight Velvet spoke, “Just be careful.” With that, Spike told Celestia, “I’ve already met with one of the five, a pegasus filly in Cloudsdale, Rainbow Dash.” The alicorn nodded as Spike left the school and took to the skies heading for Ponyville to find the others. Meanwhile in Ponyville, the unicorn filly, Rarity was being pulled by her magic to what would be her destiny since she was a perfectionist, she wanted a way to spice up the costumes and her horn ignited and here she was, being dragged through the town. She went from the Ponyville Schoolhouse to all over Ponyville itself as she came up to a cliff and smacked into a rock. As she shook off the collision, she looked up and said with shock and anger, “A ROCK!?! That’s my destiny!? What is your problem, horn?! I followed you all the way out here for a rock?! DUMB ROCK!” Soon enough, a voice spoke from behind, “Don’t judge a rock by its cover, Rarity.” The filly turned and backed against the rock in fright of the newcomer. She asked, “What’s a greedy beast like you doing here?!” The dragon went up to the rock and landed a tail strike on it. It started to rumble and crack as the filly got away from it as it split in two, the dragon looked at the filly and smiled, “Helping you out. Your horn led you to this.” Rarity looked into the boulder’s remains with the dragon and saw lots of multi-colored gems that was inside the rock. The dragon said, “Take them, Rare. You need them more than I do.” The filly smiled in awe as she collected the gems from the rock. Rarity asked in confusion, “Why are you doing this?” The dragon answered, “Because it’s the right thing to do.” He paused for a moment before saying, “After you’re done, I need your help.” The filly asked, “Right now?!” The drake shook his head, “You have your destiny to think of. But, you’ll know when I need you.” Before he could take off, Rarity pointed out, “You never told me your name, but how do you know me?!” The dragon answered, “My name is Spike and I know you from ‘a time up ahead.’” Spike soon took to the skies as Rarity went back to the schoolhouse. In the skies, Spike couldn’t help but watch as the would-be love of his life make her way safely back to the schoolhouse. All she had become depended on that Rainboom, but he and Starlight’s fight prevented it. Now it’s up to him to fix the timeline, make sure his friends got their cutie marks and stop Starlight before it’s too late. But right now, he still has to locate Fluttershy, Applejack and Pinkie Pie. In Whitetail Woods, the pegasus filly Fluttershy fell from the clouds and was caught by passing butterflies. She was very shy and a weak flyer, but when the butterflies caught her and broke her fall, she looked up at the beautiful forest singing about the place and was adoring the animals that lived there. It wasn’t until there was a flash of light in the sky, followed by a large booming sound. She looked up and saw - a battle in blue skies just above her - between a dragon and unicorn. The battle had scared the animals into hiding. But the filly knew that it was already over when the dragon sent the unicorn flying. She spoke with the frightened animals, “Shhh. It's okay. You can come out. Everything's okay. There's nothing to be afraid of.” And with that being said, the animals came out of hiding as Fluttershy obtained her cutie mark. It was about 10 minutes after getting her cutie mark when she heard a voice speak, “You can speak to animals as your cutie mark says.” She turned and backed away in fear to see that same dragon, but this time he was standing in front of her. The dragon assured, “Don’t worry, Fluttershy. I won’t hurt you.” The filly asked softly, “H...how do you know my name?” The dragon stated, “I’m a friend from somewhere far ahead and I need your help.” The filly was scared of what he was saying. He knows her, but they never met and he said he was from far ahead. But she didn’t have time to think when the dragon’s eyes widened as if he saw something and shouted, “WATCH OUT!” He vanished in thin air and reappeared close to her and covered the filly with his wings. There was an impact of magic as the dragon shielded the young pegasus. After it subsided, the dragon stopped shielding Fluttershy as a female voice spoke, “I should’ve known preventing the Rainboom wouldn’t stop your birth!” The dragon and filly saw the unicorn lower herself to the ground as she said, “And that means that you hatched on your own, Spike.” Spike stated, “Give it up, Starlight! Just because you stopped the Rainboom from happening doesn’t mean you’ll get rid of me!” He stood determined, “Because I’m going to fix this mess!” The unicorn sneered, “Not if I have anything to say about that and after I’ve defeated you, I’ll find your baby self and deal with him as well!” Spike chuckled, “There would be a very angry alicorn expecting you to do that. And with mothering instincts kicked in, you’ll be in for a world of hurt!” Starlight charged at him, but Spike used his Time Stop power and whacked her with a wing strike, knocking her to a tree. Spike looked at Fluttershy and said, “Get somewhere safe, I’ll catch up to you once I’m done!” The filly whimpered as the dragon stated, “I don’t want you or those animals to get hurt.” The filly ran to a safe place as Starlight kicked him with her back hooves, but the dragon stood strong and used his headbutt to knock her into the air. He jumped up, whacked her with his wings, did a sideways tail strike and kicked her with his hind legs. The unicorn hit the ground again as the dragon landed. Starlight was not happy about this, “Why you…” Spike sighed, “It’s almost a shame you know?” Starlight asked, “Oh, isn't it a shame we don't live in a world where everypony is equal? No one would ever tease anyone there! Wouldn't that be nice?” Spike raised an eyebrow, “What does this have to do with me? I took your village and now you want me dead. I gave them a reason to believe that they are better, no matter the cutie mark!” Starlight sneered, “An eye for an eye, Spike. My eye was my village, your eye is your very existence and the bond your friends share!” The unicorn shot a magic blast from her horn as Spike countered it with a continuous beam of Electricity and Ice as their powers were locked together. During the connection, his mind linked with hers as he flashed into a memory and saw the filly version of Starlight with a unicorn colt, laughing and playing. He soon fast forward to when the colt got his cutie mark and left Starlight. After that, he flashed back to reality as his merged breaths overpowered Starlight, leaving her open to an electric cyclone which sent her flying as he chuckled, “Looks like Starlight Glimmer is blasting off again!” The last sign of Starlight was a sparkle in the sky. He sighed at what he saw in her mind, but he’ll find out later once he fixes the timeline and captures Starlight. He looked and saw Fluttershy emerging from her hiding spot, “Y...you saved me?” Spike sat down, “I’m here to protect you from her.” Fluttershy noticed, “Wh...what she said, y...you’re f...from...the future?” Spike nodded, “I am and I need, not only your help, but 5 others to fix the timeline and send me and that unicorn home.” Fluttershy asked, “W...where are we going to...meet?” Spike replied, “Canterlot Castle, Princess Celestia is expecting you.” Spike looked at the distant mountainside city and back to the filly, “Will it be okay if I carried you to Canterlot?” The shy filly stuttered, “Well...I...um…” Spike knew, “You’re not a good flyer, I know.” The filly answered, “I’ll go with you.” Spike knelt down and side, “Climb on and hold on.” The filly climbed onto his back as the dragon took off to Canterlot, not before making a stop at Cloudsdale to explain the situation to Rainbow Dash and her parents as well as getting their permission with her father stating ‘You remind me of a dragon friend I knew’ Anyway, he left Cloudsdale, went to Canterlot, dropped off Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash and took off towards the City of Manehatten. To think that living the glamorous life in Manehatten was the life, but when you’re an earth pony filly that was born and raised on a farm trying to switch your life over, it’s tough and the feeling of homesickness is too much for young Applejack as she looked out the window towards the rising sun. She left the farm to live with her Aunt and Uncle Orange, who were amused by her speech and introduce her to the social elite. Although she nearly embarrassed herself because of her farm-life, if it weren’t for dinner being served. Now she looks out at the rising sun and said,  “Cock-a-doodle-doo... Oh, I wonder what Granny Smith and Big McIntosh are up to. I bet they're applebuckin' their way through the Red Delicious trees. Oh, what I wouldn't give for just one bite…” All of a sudden, a red apple drops near her, the sight of it surprised her to say the least. She decided to eat the apple as she felt the taste of the apple from Sweet Apple Acres slip down her throat. But once she ate it, she began to wonder, “An apple just doesn’t just fall out of the sky like that.” Soon enough, a voice spoke outside, “Not unless a courtesy dragon leaves a care package for the young Apple.” She looked outside her window again and saw, hovering above the ground was a dragon. He was actually holding an apple as well as he munched on it. Applejack asked, “Ah didn’t know there were dragons in Manehattan?” The dragon chuckled, “There are dragons, but they are nothing like me.” The filly asked, “Who the hay are ya anyway?” The dragon introduced himself, “The name’s Spike, Spike the Dragon. I came here to tell you - this whole high class life...isn’t for you, Applejack.” Applejack asked, “What do you know what I like?” Spike exclaimed, “You’re a strong, independent and honest filly. But you miss your family back at Sweet Apple Acres, Granny Smith, Big Mac, your ma and pa.” Applejack knew that he was right and asked, “I do miss them a lot, Spike. If I could just go home and see them again, see the farm and…” She noticed that Spike was glowing as he flew up and unleashed a harmless stream of Fire, Electricity, Ice and Earth out to the horizon as it flew by the distant Sweet Apple Acres. As the glow fades, the dragon flew back to the window as she saw what he meant, “I want to go home. That’s what yer telling me?” Spike nodded, “Would you rather change your life here or live with the ponies that love you and care for you to become a strong farmer?” Applejack nodded, “If that’s my calling, I will.” Spike shifted his back to the window and said, “Leave a note to your Aunt and Uncle and hop on my back.” She did just as that as Spike flew the filly back home where she belonged, when the Apples approached her and the dragon. Applejack got off of Spike’s back and approached her family, who welcomed her back to the acres. Spike couldn’t help but smile at this, the Apple Family together again. Spike’s drive to fix the timeline is not only to prevent an apocalyptic future, but for the sake of family. He also had to protect his hatchling self who was different from when Twilight hatched him. He knew Celestia would do whatever it takes to protect him when he was an egg, she was sad after losing Luna. When she saw him as an egg, her sadness made her want to become a mother to him. Spike thought, ‘Family is always an important thing, if it’s a pony raising a dragon or a griffin raising a pony. It’s always important.’ Soon enough, he noticed a flash on the filly’s flank as her signature Apple cutie mark appeared as he thought, ‘Three down, three to go!’ Soon enough, Applejack’s father, Bright Mac approached him, “So yer the dragon that told her about coming back.” Spike nodded, “I had to, because she was homesick. What she needed was a spark, this is where she belongs.” The stallion chuckled, “Yer nobleness reminds me of a feather-winged dragon I know of.” Spike guessed, “Storm Breaker?” Applejack’s mom, Pear Butter approached, “You do remind me of him, it’s been years.” Spike decided to pop the lid, “I know of him and I know it sounds crazy, but I’m...from the future. But I was in battle with a jealous unicorn and we’ve broken the timeline, I need Applejack’s help to fix the timeline.” The filly approached Spike, “If we’re goin’ to be friends further ahead. I’ll help!” Spike asked AJ’s parents, “Is it okay with you guys?” Bright Mac nodded, “If ya need help to get home and ya need Applejack’s help, it’s fine by us.” Pear Butter stated, “It’s what Storm Breaker would’ve done.” Spike said, “Thanks, I’ll be one step closer to fixing the timeline and getting home.” AJ asked, “But it’s not just mah help?” Spike replied, “There are others I need to help before I could fix the timeline.” Spike soon took to the skies with AJ on his back, sensed that Rarity got her cutie mark and saw here outside the schoolhouse looking up at the skies, like she was waiting for him to reappear. So he landed, picked her up and flew to Canterlot. He left the city and made his way to his last friend. Pinkamena Diane Pie was a young earth pony filly who lived on a rock farm with her family outside of Ponyville. The area around the rock farm was mostly grey which is the only color known. Pinkie was working on the farm with her straight mane and tail, just working on the rock fields while unaware of a certain purple dragon flying through the skies above. Spike looked down at the working Pinkie Pie as he said, “The Rainboom let out a shockwave which blew Pinkie’s mane and tail into the cotton candy shape that I know.” He thought about this for a few minutes as he noticed the family enter the barn, that’s when he had an idea, “My elemental powers are symbolized by color as well! Fire is red, Electricity is yellow, Ice is blue, Earth is green...my fury breath is purple. A rainbow...Pinkie felt joy by the rainbow, to smile forever and spread this happiness.” He realized that he was going to do the craziest thing, “I’ll have to unleash all fury waves and form a rainbow to get her attention.” He sat on the grey clouds above as he called forth his elemental auras as he noticed something else, some of the Elements of Harmony were called to him as well. They merged with his powers as he rose up and unleashed his fury wave which caused a booming sound as Spike blew a rainbow breath consisting of his powers over the rock farm. On the farm, Pinkie looked up and saw the clouds blowing away as a rainbow appeared, the shockwaves also blew her mane and tail into a poofy shape. She looked up at the rainbow and felt a joy that she never had before. She was so overwhelmed by the rainbow with the need to smile forever and the need to spread this happiness, she went to plan while unaware of Spike landing and forming an earth cocoon around himself to blend in. Spike thought to himself, ‘All I need is to wait until the next day until Pinkie plans that party for her family.’ He soon went into meditation as he sensed the aura of crystals within the rock farm. As the crystal flew to Spike’s cocoon, he felt his abilities and his strength gathering within his core. But during all of this, he remembered that even if Pinkie does get her cutie mark, it won’t be enough to reverse the spell. He needed to find a way to have Twilight and Rainbow Dash get their cutie marks since the time was very precise when she did the Rainboom. But the main problem was that Twilight was doing her entrance exam for the school and it involved his egg, but it hatched on its own without the rainboom, preventing her from getting her cutie mark. As for Rainbow Dash, his and Starlight’s arrival and battle got her distracted, she didn’t do the rainboom and didn’t get her cutie mark. Twilight and Rainbow Dash NEED to get their cutie marks if they want to fix the timeline. But how would they do that? Soon enough, Spike remembered something that was in the school around the time of the rainboom. A statue that could pretty much help them achieve this task and fix this mess. A statue of an old friend who was asleep until the right time until he would awaken. At Canterlot Castle, Celestia looked at the five fillies that Spike had helped. Twilight asked, “How would helping us get our cutie marks help him return home?” Celestia spoke, “During their battle, his dragon powers merged with Starlight’s powers while attempting the time travel spell. The usual time for the traveler to be in the past would be a minute. But that’s not the case since they are not returning home.” She turned to take a glance at the baby dragon in the cradle, “But I know she’s after his baby self, the baby dragon. We can’t let her get to him.” Fluttershy remembered her encounter, “Well, um...when Spike saved me from her...she said that she would deal with him first…” Rainbow Dash remembered, “I also noticed how shocked she was when Spike didn’t disappear.” The alicorn stated, “She believed that disrupting the rainboom would prevent Spike from hatching. But she was only half right, she did stop Twilight from hatching the egg and prevented her and Rainbow Dash from getting their cutie marks.” Rarity asked, “And now he’s trying to fix it?” Applejack said, “So he could go home.” Twilight asked, “But how does he do magic?” The filly’s curiosity made the sun princess smile as she said, “Dragons...seem to be more experienced in magic than the most talented unicorn.” She motioned the five fillies to follow her to the cradle where the baby dragon slept, “My son, I’ve watched him since he was an egg. He was the only good thing to ever happen to me.” Twilight was confused, “But when I saw you at the Summer Sun Festival, you looked happy.” Celestia explained to the young fillies, “I may be happy that day, but I was sad on the inside.” Fluttershy asked, “Why?” The alicorn lowered her head as tears began to form, “I lost my little sister a long time ago to her jealousy. After that day, I considered myself to be cursed after losing her.” Applejack noticed, “Yer sister was everything to you. Without her, you were alone and sad.” Celestia nodded at the farm filly’s statement and continued, “Until 5 years ago when he showed up next to me as an egg.” The five fillies looked at the baby dragon sleeping in the cradle. They noticed the similarities with Spike since they saw him before he took off again. They could help but notice how cute the baby was, despite being a dragon. Fluttershy squeed, “I never seen a baby dragon before. He’s so cute.” Rarity smiled, “Little Spikey Wikey.” The five fillies admiring the newborn made Celestia cheer up. She looked into the cradle as the hatchling began to stir as he attempted to move himself up, only to flop back into the cradle as the alicorn reached her forehooves in and carried the baby dragon out. The fillies noticed, not only the similarities to their time traveling dragon, Fluttershy pointed out, “His scales matches his mother’s eyes.” Celestia smiled as she watched the hatchling snuggle against her as she noticed, “They do, but the idea of me raising him as my own is what I was waiting for.” Rainbow asked, “But if he’s your son, that means…” Rarity finished, “He’s a prince!” Celestia nodded as they also know more about their time-traveling friend and the hatchling. But then they remember the dragon’s adversary as Fluttershy spoke, “I...I couldn’t believe she...would do something this...evil.” Rainbow agreed, “That unicorn would go back in time and stop him from being born. That’s wrong.” Twilight added, “I bet she already knows that he hatched...but why is she after him?” Celestia spoke, “Because he’s powerful than he looks.” She asked the fillies, “Did he display any powers?” Rainbow spoke, “Well, he shot fire, lighting, ice and what looked like an earth power.” Fluttershy spoke, “He used an ice and electric power when it collided with the unicorn’s powers.” Rarity added, “He broke a rock in half with a single tail strike.” Applejack added, “He used all four of his breaths to show me the way home.” Celestia was concerned about these powers. The power to wield four elements and attack with them is really troubling. She looked at the baby dragon and at the fillies and asked, “Remember why I said that dragons are more skilled in magic than the most experienced unicorn?” The fillies nodded as the sun princess continued, “Because my son...didn’t come from Equestria at all.” Twilight asked in shock over the revelation, “But how did you know?” Celestia looked at the filly and said, “Four wise dragon oracles told me about him when he was an egg and told me when he would hatch.” The hatchling yawned and nibbled on his small wing and his tail tip. The baby soon noticed some of Celestia’s flowing mane near him and gripped a piece of her mane with his mouth, adding a bit more to the cuteness. The alicorn gently rubbed the underbelly of the hatchling as he embraced her hoof as the fillies smiled at this. Celestia whispered, “Mommy’s here, Spike.” Spike awoke from his sleep by the sound of the rooster crowing as the farmhouse door opened. He knew that Pinkie’s family left for the south fields - straight towards his cocoon. He noticed that Pinkie’s parents were closing in on him. As Pinkie’s father, Igneous Rock Pie spoke, “How did this rock get in the south fields?” Cloudy Quartz, Pinkie’s mother noticed, “This rock, it’s not one, but almost all the rocks in the south fields.” Spike was trying to think of a way to keep them from discovering him until his horns started to glow as he heard a voice, much like his own speak, “You will ignore the rock.” Pinkie’s parents soon stated, “We will ignore the rock.” Soon enough, they ignored him as they suddenly heard music coming from the silo as Cloudy Quartz yelled, “Pinkamena Diane Pie! Is that you?” Pinkie yelled, “Mom! I need you and Dad and the sisters to come in. Quick!” Spike let out a silent breath of relief as the Pie family went into the silo. As soon as the door closed, Spike emerged from his stone cocoon and stretched his wings as he looked at the silo where Pinkie Pie would most likely be throwing her first party. Spike flew up to the top of the silo and took a peek inside to see what was transpiring. Pinkie had surprised her family with the party, “Surprise! You like it? It's called... a party!” At first her family were really surprised about it as their expressionless faces shown. This was immediately noticed by the filly, “Oh. You don't like it.” She gasped as she noticed that her family was starting to smile, “You like it!” Pinkie’s family soon broke into smiles as the pink filly bounced, “I’m so happy!” Soon enough, her cutie mark appeared on her flank which was the blue and yellow balloons that Spike recognizes. The dragon smiled, ‘Well, four down, two to go.’ He knew that it was time to make his presence known. So he activated his time stop power and slipped his way into the silo and positioned himself behind the Pie Family as time returned to normal. As time returned to normal, Pinkie noticed him, “You brought a dragon as well?” Her family were now confused until they turned to Spike and backed towards the pink filly in fear. The dragon sighed, “That’s the reaction to everypony that meets me.” He looks at the decorations, “Nice party by the way, only a pony skilled at party-planning could set this all up.” He saw the pink filly raise her hoof, “That’s me! That’s me!” Spike looked at the filly, “Pinkamena Diane Pie...is it okay if I call you ‘Pinkie Pie’ for short?” Pinkie nodded as she said, “It’s okay, future dragon!” Spike chuckled, “You already know where I’m from.” The filly nodded, “You’re a friend of mine from the future and you need my help along with five others!” Pinkie’s father asked, “Is that why you’re here?” Spike nodded, “Yes, I need her help to restore the timeline and return to the future.” He smiled, “But it’s the first party that she’s ever thrown, it’s best to enjoy it before we set off to Canterlot.” So Spike joined in Pinkie’s first party as he remembered how much fun her parties were. It all started with this party for her family. It reminds him why Pinkie is the best party-planner in Ponyville. It was also a reminder on how he avoided going into town back in his timeline to avoid Pinkie seeing him. He knew that Pinkie’s mane would go flat with sadness if she’s kept in the dark about things. He thought, ‘Maybe when I get back, I’ll talk with Pinkie about throwing me a ‘Welcome Home’ Party or just seeing me in Ponyville would prompt her to plan it.’ As soon as the party was over, Spike and Pinkie left the rock farm, but not before waving good bye to the Pie Family. After they said their farewells, Spike and Pinkie took off for Canterlot When Spike returned to Canterlot with Pinkie Pie, they were all assembled in the throne room. Celestia spoke, “You have done well, Spike.” Spike shook his head, “Not well enough, we still have two more cutie marks left.” Twilight asked, “Mine and Rainbow Dash’s?” The alicorn answered, “That is correct, but your actions will no doubt get Starlight Glimmer’s attention.” Spike had a plan, “I actually came up with a solution to Twilight and Rainbow’s cutie marks.” Celestia asked, “Care to share your solution?” Spike began to explain his solution and it involves a statue back at the school for gifted unicorns. He explains that if they could create the sonic rainboom, it could jumpstart Twilight’s magic abilities to awaken the dormant statue and have both Twilight and Rainbow get their cutie marks. He knows of this statue because he knows the stallion back in his timeline. The fillies were amazed by Spike’s solution, especially Twilight as she asked, “There’s a pony frozen in stone at the school?!” Spike nodded, “There is, but he’s...not like the others.” The filly asked, “And you want me to awaken him?” Spike stated, “Consider this, your first lesson in magic and instant jumpstarts.” The filly asked in shock, “A lesson?!” Spike replied, “You have a large grasp with magic, but combined with a sonic rainboom, your abilities would jumpstart and awaken Trail Blazer.” Rainbow Dash decided to ask, “Trail Blazer?” The purple dragon replied, “That’s the name of the frozen stallion.” Celestia understood what this means, “We should head to the school immediately.” When the group arrived at the school, Celestia guided them to the room where the statue resides. When they entered the room, they saw the statue in question. Just looking at it made the six fillies raise their eyebrows. Rarity noticed, “That armor he’s wearing looks like a furnace!” Twilight asked, “And he’s actually alive inside that statue?” Spike nodded, “He is.” Rainbow asked, “And you want me to do a sonic rainboom to kickstart her magic and wake him up?” The dragon nodded, “It’s the only way to get your cutie marks.” Celestia asked, “Are you sure that it will work?” Spike was about to speak when he started to sense a familiar aura as he realized, “She’s here!” Soon enough, Starlight Glimmer teleported in as the fillies got behind the dragon. Spike glared at Starlight as the unicorn spoke, “You have been busy with helping your friends get their cutie marks, Spike.” Spike asked, “Enjoyed getting blasted off, Starlight?” The unicorn sneered, “Being embarrassed by you is not what I like.” Spike stated, “Is that what your followers felt when they found out that you lied to them? When I told them that they are special, they realized that they were already happy. Don’t you ever feel happy once in your life?” Starlight shouted, "I was perfectly happy before you and your friends ruined what I built!" “Does that really drive you to keep me from ever existing? To prevent my friends from ever getting their cutie marks?” Asked Spike. "Not everypony's lucky enough to get her cutie mark at the same time as her friends!" yelled Starlight. Spike smiled, “The memories of your friend...of Sunburst.” Starlight asked, “What did you just say?” Spike stated as he walked towards the unicorn, “Sunburst, you used to do everything with him? You two were inseparable?” Starlight nodded, “Until he got his cutie mark, he abandoned me!” Spike stopped and stated, “And if you couldn’t get your cutie mark the same time as his then no pony would and decided to start the philosophy of equal cutie marks and have been doing it ever since!” Starlight sneered at the dragon, “He left me and we never saw each other again!” She charged her magic, “But I will make sure that your friends never see you again!” She looked at the sun goddess and saw the hatchling Spike and smiled, “And it will be a breath of relief to be rid of you!” She fired her magic at the hatchling only for Celestia to erect a barrier to reflect it back at Starlight, the alicorn stated, “YOU WILL NOT HARM MY SON!” Starlight tried again, only for Spike to tackle her to the ground and hit her with a tail strike. Spike looked at Rainbow and yelled, “Fly, Dashie, Fly like you’ve never flown before! I’ll keep her busy!” The pegasus filly nodded as Spike told Celestia, “Protect the hatchling!” Spike was soon struck by a magic bolt from Starlight which knocked him to the ground. Starlight stood over him, “After you ruined my village, I decided that if I can’t convert you…” Spike finished as he got up, “Then you’ll end me.” Spike and Starlight began to circle each other anticipating which side would make the strike. It wasn’t until the unicorn noticed Rainbow taking to the skies as her eyes widened in shock, so the unicorn used her magic to fly and stop her from doing the rainboom. But that didn’t stop Spike from taking to the skies as well and tackling Starlight as both sides exchanged breaths and magic bolts. Spike looked at Rainbow who stopped to look at him, “Don’t worry about me! Keep gaining speed!” Rainbow yelled, “Got it!” She continued flying as Spike turned to his foe as Starlight said, “You cherish your friends at a large extent.” She fired a red magic bolt as the dragon dodged it. Spike stated, “Everything that they have become all depended on the rainboom. I care about my friends and I don’t want to lose them!” Starlight soon smiled evilly as her horn erupted again and she duplicated herself creating four of herself at once as they all said, “If you care for your friends so much, how much in Equestria would you cherish when their Purple Dragon falls!” Spike saw as the Starlights surrounded him as they all fired magic bolts at him. He activated his time powers to dodge them. But as soon as time returned to normal, he was distracted by the sight of the bolts hitting the Starlight duplicates - only to be struck in the chest by a powerful magic bolt as the impact caused his eyes to widen in shock. The culprit was the real Starlight Glimmer as she smiled that she caught him off-guard. He soon fell down through the roof of the school in front of the fillies, Celestia and the baby dragon in her hooves. They looked in shock as Starlight landed and placed her forehoof on the downed dragon, “Finally, I’ve defeated the Purple Dragon!” She looked towards the baby dragon, “But I still need to ensure that he never exists!” She began to approach Celestia who was looking to protect her baby as Applejack stood in the unicorn’s way. “You ain’t hurting her or the baby!” Shouted the farm filly. Twilight joined, “She’s waited 5 years for this to happen!” Rarity joined in, “We’re not going to let a jealous mare like you harm her or her baby!” Pinkie bounced in, “I haven’t even known about him for that long, but still he’s our best friend like he will be in the future!” Fluttershy, although timid, joined in, “We won’t let you hurt him! We’ll protect him because he needs us!” Starlight sneered, “Five fillies against me? Are you that protective of that purple beast!” Soon enough, Celestia snapped as she said, “He is not a beast, he’s a living, breathing baby dragon that I have waited 5 years to hatch! I am not going to let you have him!” Spike woke up, but he wasn’t where the Trail Blazer statue was. He was in some kind of cave, a cave that has a large amount of stardust. He walked around the cave and saw a large clearing meant for something big. Spike was curious, “Where am I?” Soon enough, a voice erupted from a large mound of stardust, “We have been watching you, for a long time, Spike.” Spike asked, “Who are you? How do you know my name?” A deep voice spoke, “We have existed long before Purple Dragons, Spike. We have been a precursor to your kind for centuries.” The first voice spoke, “We have come in many shapes, sizes and abilities. We are your many ancestors, young one.” Spike realized, “You’re Ancestral Dragons!?” The stardust mound erupted as two dragon shapes emerged from it. The first dragon had four legs, wings, and was large in size. The dragon sparkled with the stardust from the caves as the large beast spread its wings. The second dragon only had two legs and wings, it’s eyes were blue and it shined like a polished piece of battle armor. Both dragons stared down at Spike as the blue eyed dragon spoke, “You have fought to save your friends, to return the timeline to the way it was when you came home.” The Stardust Dragon spoke, “To prevent Starlight Glimmer from creating a future where your friends never formed their bonds...only for you to meet each one and help them discover their calling.” Spike asked in curiosity, “What do you mean?” Both dragons said, “Behold!” The cave vanished as the images of the many things that occured in the altered present do to the interference. Spike looked at one image that showed Rainbow Dash as a Bat-Guard during Nightmare Moon’s return. But it soon showed an image of himself...along with the Skylanders banding together to defeat Nightmare Moon and her minions. Spike’s eyes widened as he saw himself land a swift tailstrike on Rainbow Dash and a headbash on Rarity. Spike stood in disbelief as he saw himself and the Skylanders assaulting the castle and he fights Nightmare Moon one-on-one and defeated her with a fury wave which reverts her back to Luna. He watched himself extend a wing in forgiveness for Luna, Rainbow and Rarity. The next image showed himself fending off an invasion by King Sombra in the Crystal War with his friends and the Skylanders. He said in shock, “The future is a nightmare, the wars, the destruction…” The Shining Dragon stated, “It is a disastrous future. Where Nightmare Moon returns, the Elements of Harmony have no use without their chosen bearers. Leaving you, the Purple Dragon as Equestria’s Last Hope.” The Stardust Dragon added, “The Crystal War when King Sombra succeeded in ruling the Crystal Empire and like all tyrants, he seeks to expand by force.” Spike noticed, “The...Skylanders were with me during the Night War.” The shining dragon replied, “Your essence caught Eon’s attention and sent the Skylanders to Equestria. Thus starting the Arrival early and in time for Nightmare Moon’s return.” Spike asked, “Starlight has no idea what she’s causing?” The Stardust Dragon stated, “Unicorn minds, especially a mind like hers is filled with despair and jealousy.” The shining dragon spoke, “She doesn’t know that the dragon she’s trying to destroy is not only Equestria’s Last Hope, but the child that Celestia has waited to hatch for five years.” Spike stated, “I’m so close to fixing this…” The shining dragon pulled up an image, “You are and your friends are standing in defense of your baby self.” Spike saw what he was talking about, his friends are standing for his defense against Starlight, it wasn’t until a thump occurred as the skies filled with a rainbow shockwave, “For the Rainboom has happened. Notice the young Twilight Sparkle…” Spike saw the filly’s magic jump-start and started firing magic bolts all over the room, striking Starlight and the statue as Trail Blazer awoken from his slumber. The images showed that Rainbow Dash and Twilight had got their cutie marks. Spike smiled, “That’s all of them!” The Blue Eyes Shining Dragon spoke, “You still have to defeat Starlight Glimmer before she harms your friends.” Spike asked, “How could I do that now? She already caught me off-guard and I can’t use my combined breath.” The Stardust Dragon suggested, “The Harmonic Armor.” Spike was confused, “But I’m in the past, the elements haven’t even chosen them yet!” The shining dragon stated, “Even in the past, you can still morph into your harmonic form.” Spike asked, “How do I summon it from a different timeline?” The shining dragon stated, “Think back to your home, your friends, your family and feel the power of the bond that you share with all six of your friends.” The Stardust Dragon added, “You are also connected to the Elements of Harmony like your friends. Remember the reason behind your adventures, your achievements and why you were chosen to go on these quests.” Spike closed his eyes as he began to think back to his adventures, his victory over Malefor at the Crystal Empire, his journey through the Multiverse, his victory over Kaos at the Battle of Mt. Cloudbreak, joining up with his human self in defeating Kaos in the future and his journey to gather an army of dragons, ponies and griffins. Another image showed Spike talking with Trail Blazer while entering the Dragon Lands, “Let me give you some advice, Spike. When times are tough, not many would want to see the true threat. But right now, this whole world needs a symbol of hope, an individual they could look up to and rally behind. You think Celestia asked you to undergo this task because you are her son?” Spike didn’t say anything as the unicorn continued, “She sent you on this quest because she saw that you would be that symbol, a dragon that everyone would look up to.” All the images soon switched to Spike’s memories with the last one ending with a picture of Spike and his friends at Sugarcube Corner all smiling and happy. Spike realized as he opened his eyes, “Hope. A symbol of hope!” The shining dragon stated, “And when you have hope and believe in your friends. No matter which timeline you are in…” The Stardust Dragon finished, “The Elements of Harmony will never lose their glow!” Spike soon saw the cutie marks of his friends as their elements as they began to glow which caused his eyes to widen in shock, “Wh...what!?” The two dragons smiled as they began to sense, “Starlight is now locked in combat with Trail Blazer. We must go our separate ways...for now.” Spike asked, “But I still have questions! How will I find you two?” The dragons pointed, “Look at the walls of the caves and you will know a rare occurrence in Equestria.” The shining dragon asked, “Now tell us Spike, who are you besides the Purple Dragon?” Spike thought about the two dragons, ‘They are Ancestral Dragons, the precursor to the Purple Dragons. But that makes me…’ He paused for a moment as the elements began to glow, he spoke, “I am your living legacy.” Soon enough, Spike sprang up from the floor, much to everypony’s shock including Starlight as he used a charge to knock her into the air. The unicorn used her flight spell as the dragon flew up to meet her. He looked at her and said with a calm voice, “I pity you. You just don’t get it at all!” He soon stated, “There’s not a thing that I DON’T cherish!” Starlight smiled hoping for an easy win as Spike barrel-rolled to her as their powers collided with each other as Spike yelled, “HARMONIC POWER!” Soon enough, the Harmonic Armor appeared and latched onto Spike’s body, much to Starlight’s shock and the shock of the ponies below. When their powers collided, Spike unleashed an ability which separated the element jewels as they took form of the grown up versions of the Mane 6 as well as Spike’s Natural Elements formed into four dragon-lookalikes. All ten elements surrounded a shocked Starlight as Spike flew to each element and did a combined attack with each element. Spike used the powers of Fire, Electricity, Ice, Earth, Honesty, Laughter, Kindness, Generosity, Loyalty and Magic as he repeatedly attacked Starlight. It all ended when Spike did a piledriver attack which caused all elementals to strike at the same time which forced the unicorn back to the ground. The dragon landed near the defeated unicorn as all elementals returned to him and said, “Once we return home, I’m taking you to Cloudcracker Base.” Starlight asked in disbelief, “It’s...it’s no use...but why can’t I defeat you?” Spike’s helmet opens, “Because I care for my friends and I hope to see them again.” Starlight sighed, “I was so close...if I could’ve…” She paused for a moment as Spike placed a claw on her head, flooding it with the images of the alternate present. Her eyes were shocked as she realized, "Spike, I wanted a paradise...but now after seeing those images.” Spike finished, “You feel guilty of ever trying to change the past.” She sighed, “Yes, I do.” Spike smiled, “We’ll judge you when we get back.” He turned to the awakened Trail Blazer as the stallion said, “I already knew that she was bad news when I woke up.” The stallion also said, “Don’t worry about explaining it, the princess filled me in.” Spike nodded as he approached Celestia and the fillies, “Well, I guess it’s time to set things right.” The sun goddess nodded, “I’m afraid so. Once the spell is reversed, everything will go back to the way they were before you arrived. Only you and Starlight will remember what happened.” Spike understood this and said, “Despite all the adventures I had in this journey, helping my friends and saving myself. The only ones to remember this would be me and Starlight.” Pinkie spoke, “Don’t worry, we were bound to meet each other in the future.” Twilight stated, “Your quest here may be erased, but it’s not forgotten by you.” Spike decided as he looked at the alicorn, “I’m ready.” The Mane 6 soon surrounded him as Celestia generated her magic into the spell along with the fillies as she said, “You have won a great battle, Spike. You have saved yourself and your friends from an altered future.” Spike nodded as he said, “Thank you, all of you for believing in me.” Rainbow shouted, “Hey Spike, good luck in the future! It’s a real blast!” Soon enough, the spell was performed as all of the events that occured since they arrived began to reverse from Spike and Starlight’s battles, Spike helping his friends get their cutie marks, the interactions with his friends and their families, everything that transpired since their arrival was erased as the time travel spell was reversed. Soon enough, Spike and Starlight were back in Spike’s room, back to their original time. Spike looked at the unicorn as she knew what this meant. Spike gestured her to follow him as they left the library and went to Cloudcracker Base. When they arrived at the base, they saw Twilight, Snap Shot and the supercharger Splat looking over some scrolls in the study. They were unaware of their presence until Spike said, “Hey, Twilight.” The unicorn stopped what she was doing as her ears perked up, recognizing his voice as she turned to him as her eyes widen in shock...she asked, “Spike!?” Snap Shot looked at the dragon and said, “Crikey! You’re back!” Splat looked at the dragon as well and realized, “You’re the dragon that everyone is talking about?!” The dragon spoke, “Yeah, I guess so. But I came here because I brought somepony here to turn over to the Trap Team.” He moved to the side to reveal Starlight Glimmer. The three were in shock as well since this mare kidnapped Trail Blazer and tried to kill him. Spike gestured Starlight to speak, “I know that you heard of me, I tried to turn Spike to my philosophy and failed. But...I also tried to alter time to make sure that he was never born, he defeated me again and showed me the images of an altered present so I decided to concede.” She sighed, “I know there's no excuse for what I did, but I want you all to know that I'm ready for whatever punishment you think is fair.” Snap Shot approached, “Since it’s mostly giving Spike a hard time, he’ll decide your punishment.” Spike shook his head, “Not right now, she’ll stay at the base in the custody of the Trap Team. I have to be somewhere.” Spike looked at the unicorn, “You’ll be with the Trap Team until I get back.” Starlight nodded, knowing that those no arguing now. Spike looked at Twilight and said, “I think a certain party pony would like to know that I’m home.” Twilight knew this when Spike left the base. Spike arrived at Sweet Apple Acres, evading the Apple Family as he made his way to the far side of the apple farm as he made his way up a small hill and sitting on top of the hill were two gravestones. He approached the stones as he read the inscriptions, starting from the left, “Bright Macintosh. Father and Husband.” He read the right stone, “Pear Butter. Mother and Wife.” Spike sighed as he spoke, “Hello, Bright Mac and Pear Butter...I’m Spike, I’m a friend of Applejack, Big Mac and Applebloom. I’m sure you never heard of me, but if you were still alive…” He frowned, “You probably would’ve met me when I was a hatchling at that time. But as the years went by, Applejack has grown into a strong mare…” He smiled, “If you know about AJ’s loving relationship with Terrafin, a boxing dirt shark, he proves himself to be very helpful to the acres.” Spike sighed, “I just wish you both were here to see this.” “And I wish that too.”Said a voice that shocked Spike as he turned around to see a certain feather-winged dragon along with Big Mac. Spike said in shock, “Storm Breaker?! Big Mac!?” Storm Breaker stated, “Surprised, Spike?” Spike asked, “How did you know I was here?” Storm Breaker chuckled, “Lucky guess and Big Mac heard a rumor that you returned from your journey.” Big Mac asked, “So why are you at ma and pa’s grave?” Spike frowned at this until the older dragon sensed, “You’ve met them, haven’t you?” Spike looked at Storm Breaker and asked, “How did you know?” Storm Breaker stated, “I saw that look in your eyes, you accidentally went back in time and met Bright Mac and Pear Butter.” Spike sighed, “I had to reverse the spell that brought me to the past. I had to help my friends get their cutie marks.” Big Mac guessed, “And you’ve met Ma and Pa in the process.” Spike nodded as the older dragon sighed, “Bright Mac was a good friend, he was also a wingman for me as well. His red mane made me give him the nickname ‘Red’ and he actually accepted the nickname.” Spike pointed out, “When I asked for AJ’s help, they mentioned that it’s what you would’ve done the same thing. Rainbow Dash’s parents even mentioned you when I asked for her help.” Storm Breaker chuckled, “They remember me so well and determination in others.” Spike sighed, “Looking at everything that happened, Mom was extremely happy when I was born.” Big Mac chuckled, “Ah can imagine, when I was born, Pa ran all over the town saying that he now has a son.” The feather-winged dragon chuckled, “He was really excited that he became a Dad although he mostly over did it.” Spike chuckled as well, “Can't blame a stallion for expressing his excitement.” Storm Breaker sighed, “At least Blaze didn't do something like that when Rainbow Dash was born.” Spike asked, “Rainbow Dash’s dad?” Big Mac spoke, “Blitz was his nickname as far as Uncle Storm told me.” Storm Breaker gazed at the gravestones and stated, “We were all close back then, Blaze, Bright, Nightlight and I. Our bond was strong, like the bond you share with your friends.” Spike understood, “I care about them enough to protect them from harm.” Big Mac spoke, “But yer not alone in caring for them. Terrafin has cared for Applejack, helped on the farm and being a good help.” The Purple Dragon noted, “It's true, Big Mac. I'm not alone in it at all.” Storm Breaker decided, “You should head back to the base and find a fitting punishment for Starlight.” Spike nodded, “I should...and I might go back to the library after that.” He smiled, “Don't want to be late for my own party.” Storm Breaker chuckled, “Pinkie Pie’s parties never disappoint.” The purple dragon stated, “I’d imagine that the sky would fall before Pinkie’s parties disappoint which is unlikely to happen for a hyperactive mare.” Spike soon took to the skies and made his way back to base. Upon returning to the base, Spike saw Starlight waiting for him with that same defeated expression on her face. She asked, “Have you decided what you’re going to do with me?” Spike asked, “That depends on the whereabouts of the Twilight, Splat and Snap Shot.” He noticed the absence of the three that were in the base. The unicorn said, “They waited me to wait until you got back so we can head back to the library.” Spike smiled as he motioned her to walk with him. Starlight accepted as she walked with the dragon that defeated her twice. She noticed how calm he was, despite everything that happened. She asked, “How are you so calm after everything that happened because of me?” Spike stated, “What matters now is that things are back to normal. You wouldn’t have tried to change the past if you didn’t realize the ethics of it all.” Starlight lowered her head in shame until the dragon added, “But your skills in magic are as impressive as Twilight and her twin sister. But you have much to learn to use and control your powers.” Starlight asked, “How?” The purple dragon replied, “With a teacher.” He stated, “On occasion, there are some dragons that take it upon themselves to teach a unicorn gifted in magical talents to know the ways of the elements that are known to a purple dragon.” Starlight asked with a raised eyebrow, “Are you asking me to become your apprentice? After what I’ve done to you?!” Spike nodded, “It’s best to forgive and forget what transpired. Our battle showed a true display of potential in you.” Starlight guessed, “Enough to follow the elements that you can do?” Spike chuckled, “With enough training and studying, Starlight. You would be able to conjure up even the most simple of fire spells.” The unicorn was puzzled by the dragon’s offer. He wanted to train her in the ways of the purple dragon, yet she tried to kill him twice. She did say that she was ready for any type of punishment, but being asked to be his apprentice isn’t what she expected. Starlight asked, clearly interested, “When should I start?” Spike smiled, “That depends, what do you wish to prove?” Starlight stated, “That I want to make amends for everything I’ve done and to know what it really means to be a friend and a teammate.” The two approached the door to the library as Spike said, “Then I will take you as my apprentice.” The dragon opened the door as they entered the dark library as Starlight asked, “What’s with the lights?” Spike realized, “I was wondering the same thing.” Then all of a sudden, the lights came on as it is revealed that everypony and skylander in town was present in the library as they shouted, “WELCOME HOME, SPIKE!” The Mane 6 greeted him with hugs and kisses as the Skylanders greeted him with wing-fives, claw-fives and a bear hug from the ponies in town. Spike began to sweat as he realized, “I didn't know I was missed that much.” Starlight noticed, “You have been traveling all over the world. Which is why they miss you.” Spike took her acknowledgement as such and told the patrons, “W - wow! T - this is just amazing to be welcomed home like that.” He smiled, “I’m looking at you, Pinkie Pie! Thanks for the party!” The party pony bounced towards him and said, “I always look out for my friends especially if my friend is a dragon!” Spike turned to his friends, “And after going on that life-changing journey, it made me realize that no matter what happens or how far I travel - You will be there on my shoulder whispering to me. When I returned home after Griffonstone, a certain group of fillies told me that you were all worried about me.” He spoke to Rarity, “Sweetie Belle said that you were extremely worried.” The snow white unicorn approached the dragon as she said, “I was afraid that you would not come back. When I heard about Griffonstone, I...I was worried about you.” Spike placed a wing around her and said, “It was quite the battle with unexpected surprises. But in the end, we pulled through and saved the city.” Rainbow Dash spoke, “So I heard that Gilda was involved in the defense.” Spike looked at the pegasus, “She’s changed, Dash. She's not the Gilda from before.” The Pegasus asked with a raised eyebrow, “Are you sure that she changed?” Starlight decided to speak, “If it makes you feel better, she's standing right next to me.” Rainbow looked and saw her old friend appear next to the unicorn as the griffin said, “Long time no see, Dash.” Rainbow sped to the griffin and asked, “Why are you here anyway?!” Gilda replied with an apologetic smile, “First, to attend Spike’s Welcome Home Party and second, to make amends with a friend.” Spike turned to the griffin, “You did the right thing, Gilda. You were not just my partner in the battle, you're my friend as well.” Gilda nodded as she said, “But hey, we all mess up once in awhile.” She looked at RD, “But Rainbow Dash, can you find it in your heart to forgive me?” Rainbow Dash looked at Gilda, then at Spike and then back at Gilda as she sighed, “Okay Gil, I forgive you.” She added, “If Spike can forgive his greatest enemy, I can forgive my old friend for being a bad griffin years ago.” The ponies and skylanders cheered as the two friends made up for lost times. Spike smiled at this as he decided to announce, “As far as reunions go, I have an announcement to make before the party starts…” He gestured Starlight to stand next to him, “In light of the recent events that went on involving me and her. I have decided to take Starlight Glimmer as my Apprentice.” There was a gasp of shock and confusion in the crowd when he made this announcement. Twilight approached, “I know that you were planning a fitting punishment, but taking her as your apprentice is unexpected.” The dragon stated, “She misunderstood the nature of the coming battle. And her magic abilities are as powerful as yours.” Twilight reminded him, “Being a Master is a huge responsibility, especially with taking in an apprentice.” Spike nodded as he said, “I know, but I won’t expect her to go crazy with reports like you did.” Twilight twitched a bit since she still felt bad about it as the dragon finished, “But it’s not just going to me training her.” Twilight asked in shock, “You mean?” Spike stated, “It’s best that all six of you help me out with teaching Starlight.” The others were cautious about it as they spoke their concerns to Twilight about it until the unicorn said, “Well, the others agreed to your decision. Starlight will be your Apprentice.” The dragon hugged his unicorn sister as everyone cheered. As soon as they finished the hug, Spike turned to Starlight, “Starlight, It's time to celebrate my return home and you becoming my apprentice.” Starlight smiled as she said, “Then we should get started...Master.” And from this day, Starlight Glimmer, once Spike’s nemesis, became Spike’s Apprentice, a rare thing for a Purple Dragon to do. As everyone partied on through the night reunions formed and new friendships were made while shattered friendships were mended. Meanwhile, somewhere in the dark recesses of Skylands, Malefor sat on his throne as he looked at the kneeling unicorn in his presence. He spoke, “Sunset is a traitor and that Starlight Glimmer only sought for her own gain by destroying Spike.” The unicorn looked up at him, “They were weak and unable to destroy him.” The dark master stated, “But the failure at Griffonstone showed them that these Doomlanders would change their leadership to someone else.” The unicorn asked, “But what do you wish for me?” Malefor smiled, “There are rumors of a certain couple that is expecting. A royal couple that Spike is close to. That is my task for you two.” The unicorn asked in confusion, “Two?” The large dragon pointed his wing to a doorway as the sound of a machine powering up. The mare looked at the source of it as her broken horn sparked as she could see what it is, “He’ll do.” “Unicorn Mare Data: Successfully Copied!” said the robot as a pair of red eyes flashed.
