In a sunny morning on the Padded Empire, an amazing land some miles away from Equestria where everypony was allowed to be as young as they want to be, wearing diapers all day and night, living their lives in a comfortable and enjoyable environment where everything looked in perfect harmony, as they were walking across the streets, with a poofy diaper between there legs, as every other pony in the town, as any pony who has been working in any important job for the empire for the past ten years, just like in the main train station of the Empire’s capital, not saying “all aboard” to the passengers or selling items in the shops, but defending there land of evil creatures who wants to destroy their economy, the diapers factories or the pace of the citizens, in a really critical place, maybe the most critical of all… The border. In a kingdom which was having more and more tourism, business and ponies desiring to live in the kingdom forever to have a more relaxing and quiet life or just satisfying their most deep wishes, it was important to control the immigration, but most important, the immigrants’ padded garments, since that was the pride and basis of the Padded Empire.
Captain Fluffy Clouds was in the security room of the train station where all the guards received their orders before beginning their job. The room didn’t have more than a couple of tables to drink some coffee and discuss a but things for a short while, besides a coffee, there were snacks and drinks machine.
“Marshmallow Pillow! Today’s the beginning of the spring vacation. We’re waiting a lot of visitors and I don’t want to see the town full of weird ponies,delinquents and fake diapers, you’re one of my best guards, please don’t disappoint me! Booth number two!” The captain ordered.
“Yes sir!” The mare answered respectfully. Marshmallow Pillow was one of the most respected guards of that section of the border. She apparently could smell a fake pull up or disposable diaper when the train was ten minutes away from the station. She was kind but mainly hard. She never let a single pony pass by her, no matter who it was. Her body had a radiant light pink color and her mane a darker tone. As the rest of the guards of the border, she had a certified diaper for long working days with extra absorbency with the border guard badge printed on it.
“Oh… And today you will work with our new guard.” The captain added as the newbie approached to them with a pretty similar costume than the rest of the guards, except that the diaper badge was a bit different, since it was a novice badge.
“Hi there! My name is Radiant Smile.” The new guard said quietly but tried to be confident enough.
“So… new guard huh?” Marshmallow said a bit unsure of the situation while she walked to their booth. The revision zone for immigrants was placed just 30 meters from the train platforms, in the middle there were only several shops with food, drinks, one or two places to rest, bathrooms and of course, a couple of diapers shops with the best products available. The revision zone itself had a marked queue, where one after another was placed everypony waiting for the entrance to the Empire. After the queue there were several chairs next to every inspection booth to attend the immigrants, also, the typical inspection booths have sum security elements like ultraviolet light to revise documents holograms and seals, lanterns for better revision of baggage, especially at night, and of course, maybe the most important elements, two seals for the passports, one red for denied entries, and one green for granted entries. Also, in every corner of the zone, there was an unicorn guard prepared to defend the zone in case of things went wrong and to guide the immigrants to the detention center if necessary.
“Well, well…. Then you think you’re ready to control the entry of all these ponies?” Marshmallow asked once they arrived.
“Four years in the academy should have prepared me for this sir!” Radiant said confident.
“Yeah… Yeah… So… What have you learned about recognizing a fake Silly Filly diaper? Extra-large size? With bear prints?” Marshmallow asked.
“Huh?” Radiant answered scared.
“Hear me sweetie. I know that the academy teaches you the basic stuff, how to revise documents, how to pass the obstacles course… But this is reality, here the real contraband passes inside those padded garments, inside baggage, inside the most unexpected places… And we must revise any… Single… One…” Marshmallow said seriously.
“Yeah... Understood sir! I’m sorry for the offense.” Radiant answered.
“Don’t worry, you’ll learn fast. Now… The first train will arrive soon and we have work to do. You will take care of the passports and IDs, I will take care of the important part.” Marshmallow explained.
“And it is?” Radiant asked curious.
“Diapers honey, the basis of our lifestyle… Our society… Our empire.” Marshmallow said inspired. During the next minutes all the guards prepared the revision zone and their equipment to receive the visitors. About five minutes later arrived the first train of the day to the platform and slowly everypony walked outside the train with their bags, some of them walked to the near shops, others walked to the bathrooms but finally all of them went to immigration.
“It’s time to work newbie!” Marshmallow said just before the first family was approaching to their booth.
“Good morning my little ponies. Diapers, please.” Marshmallow said.
“Don’t you mean, papers?” The stallion of the family asked confused.
“In our land diapers are first sir, please leave your bags and give your documents to my partner. We’ll make a quick revision, as soon as you help us with this the sooner you will be able to visit our land.” Marshmallow explained. The colt then gave to the other guard all the necessary documents.
“Names?” Marshmallow asked quickly.
“I am Sweet Rain; my wife Sour Flavor and our daughter is called Sun melody.” The stallion answered while thedocuments and bags were revised by the guards.
“Reason of visit?” Marshmallow asked again.
“Uh… Tourism, we have heard about this lovely place and one of the spas sounded really relaxing for our family. Just what we were waiting for.” Sweet Rain answered.
“Time of your visit? Marshmallow asked before finishing the revision of the last bag.
“One week.” Sweet Rain answered quickly, then Marshmallow began to touch Sweet Rain diaper’s front.
“Hey!” He claimed.
“Please sir, this is a routine revision. So. State of diaper?” Marshmallow said while touching several parts of the colt’s diaper, including the front, the back, the tapes and even revising the leak guards.
“Uh… what?!” Sweetie Rain asked embarrassed.
“Please sir! This is serious! Is it dry, wet or messed?” Marshmallow repeated.
“Uh… Dry… I guess.” Sweetie Rain answered still embarrassed.
“Hmmm fine. Looks pretty good, you need to adjust those tapes honey, with the first drop it will fall down to the ground.” Marshmallow said finishing the revision. After that, the mare and the foal were also revised with the same diagnostic.
“Ok, just one more thing. A ten diapers package looks short for one week. Planning to buy more?” Marshmallow asked.
“Uh... The spa includes diapers dotation, we only bought these in case of emergency.” Sweet Rain answered as showed the spa’s brochure to Marshmallow.
“And you did good.” Marshmallow said while sealed the three passports with a really quick movement. “Welcome to the Padded Empire my little ponies, remember that used diapers goes in trash, not the ground. Have a happy vacation and enjoy the spa!” She added and soon the ponies walked to the town.
“Did you see newbie? That’s how the professionals do it.” Marshmallow said to her partner once they were alone again. ”Next pony please!” Marshmallow announced as the next pony in queue approached. “This one is yours newbie. I’ll be watching every movement.” She added.
“Good morning sir. Diapers, please.” Radiant said confident. The colt left his bag in the ground and gave the papers to Marshmallow Pillow. “Hope this didn’t take so long. Somepony is waiting me.” He added.
“This will be fast sir.” Radiant said while she revised quickly the bag. “So… Reason of visit?” She added.
“Work. Diaper provider for small shops, two days, dry diaper. Come on miss! I’ve passed for this several times. Could we hurry up!” The stallion explained. Radiant smile then passed to revise the diaper a bit nervous, as the newbie guard she was, she touched nervous the different parts of the diaper, she really didn’t want to disturb the pony. “Guess everything looks good. Welcome to the Padded…” Radiant tried to say.
“Excuse me a minute! Sir!” Marshmallow interrupted. “Three packages look excessive for two days. Something to explain?” She added.
“Huh? Nothing. One of my friends wanted some diapers and I decided to bring some...” He tried to explain.
“So... Are you trying to explain me that… Your “friend” wanted imported diapers… When here there are manufactured… The best… Diapers… In the world? Are you kidding me?” Marshmallow asked and opened violently one of the packages. “This doesn’t look like original Silly Filly Diapers… Sir…” She said while ripping one violently. “This stuff would never hold a single drop of… Air… Please go to the detention center sir. Maybe you will want to call your…. Friend…. Because this will take a while.” The pony then walked away with one of the armed guards.
“Bad! Bad! Too bad! What was that?!” Marshmallow asked. “Do you have an idea about how many fake diapers are tried to be introduced into the Empire daily? Besides… Weren’t you going to ask his name at least? What if he tried to escape? How were you going to find him? Huh?!” She asked.
“I’m sorry miss. I guess diaper revisions are harder that I could even thought.” Radiant answered embarrassed.
“They are… So… It’s better if you just revise the papers for now. Mistakes aren’t allowed here!” Marshmallow said. Radiant felt disappointed by what had just happened, but she knew it was better for now, she still had a lot of things to learn if she wanted to be a good border guard. Things continued in the border as any other usual day, all the guards received tons of different ponies, tourists, locals, business ponies with important things to do and elegant diapers between their legs, families, and of course, the most common case in the border…
“Diapers, please.” Marshmallow said to a pony who clearly was completely naked.
“Is that a joke? Why do I have to wear diapers to come here?! That’s stupid!” The colt claimed angry.
“Diapers are first in our Empire sir. No diapers, no seal of approval, no Padded Empire. That’s the law. You’re free to buy some in our shops if you still want to go in.” Marshmallow explained.
“I’m not going to buy a stupid diaper!” The colt claimed.
“Then it seems you’re going to take a stupid train back to Equestria, because I won’t let pass any naked pony through this border on my guard.” Marshmallow said before sealing the passport clearly with a red seal. “If I had a bit for every time this happens, I would be rich, newbie.” She added disappointed once the pony left. With every pony, family or group who tried to pass the border, it was more appreciable Marshmallow’s skills with diapers controls. She probably knew every single diaper brand available in the Padded Empire, its features, how it looks and how a fake should look, even if it was the first one she had ever seen.
“So, you say this is “extra absorbent,” right?” Marshmallow asked to a pretty nervous pony she was revising. “Well... Let’s see how it holds…. Some water…” She added before dropping a whole water bottle inside the diaper and looking how after half the diaper was already leaking in the ground. “If my floor is wet… The seal is red…” She added before sealing the passport.
“30 packages of fake diapers. Could you imagine what could happen if they passed the border Radiant?” Marshmallow talked deeply.
“Uh… It would be… Disaster for our citizens?” Radiant tried to answer.
“Exactly newbie! There’s nothing most important in our land than the perfect feelings of a good diaper against your skin, perfectly closed tapes in your waist and the nice sensation of a pillow when you sit down to drink some coffee… And we have to protect that!” Marshmallow said really inspired.
“Well, guess the next two have a lot of idea of that feeling because they have the thickest diapers I’ve seen today.” Radiant said while the couple of ponies approached to them.
“So… What we have here? Diapers, please.” Marshmallow said inspired by the quality of the garments her eyes were seeing.
“It would be a pleasure miss. These are the fanciest line of Silly Filly Diapers, most wonderful designs and materials. Some studies show that entire pools could be absorbed perfectly by just a package of those.” The stallion said proud of what he was wearing.
“It seems you have really good likes ponies. So… Names and reason of visit sir, this will be pretty fast.” Marshmallow asked while Radiant revised carefully the documents.
“Comet Flash and my wife Snow Blossom, both citizens of the Padded Empire. We’re just wanting to return to our land for few weeks.” Comet explained proud.
“I see. Well, everything looks perfect, I can see you bring extra packages. Well done! That’s the attitude of a true Padded Empire citizen.” Marshmallow said happy. “Why are you taking so long with those documents Radiant? Those ponies have been waiting a long time to return home.” She claimed.
“I’m sorry boss, but, we have a small trouble right here.” Radiant called Marshmallow to talk to her.
“Those are fake documents.” Radiant whispered once she approached.
“What?! Are you completely sure of that?” Marshmallow asked surprised.
“I am, those IDs look bad, the hoofprints look that they are from another creature and… their passports were processed... Yesterday… And there are Padded Empire’s passports, and they’re blank! How could they get them outside the empire?” Radiant explained. Marshmallow’s happiness face changed quickly to an angry face as she returned with the ponies.
“So, you think you were going cheat us with… Fancy diapers?” Marshmallow said angry as she violently opened one of the packages. “Fake diapers… If there is something we hate more in our land than bad quality diapers, it’s a lie. Go away! I don’t want to see your fancy padded buts here again!” She added.
“You did it great Radiant! You saved our land from another tricky pony who wanted to introduce bad quality diapers and disrupt our precious society”. Marshmallow said proud of her partner. The rest of the afternoon, one after another, ponies arrived at the border and both guards took care of documents and diapers.
“So, you’re trying to tell us that Celestia’s Land is a real country?” Radiant said looking the fake passport disappointed.
“That’s not the name of that land of ponies?” A small dragon answered innocent.
“Next...” Radiant screamed confident.
“Sorry sir, but February 31st is not a real date…” Radiant answered looking another document and using a red seal on the passport. “Next please…” She added.
“So… Mr. uh… Mc. Diapers… Why looks like your passport was made with crayons, and… Well… I’m not familiarized with… Equezzztria.” Radiant explained the weird situation.
“There is not city on the Padded Empire called New Diaper City. You should call your fake documents provider, he needs to research more.” Once again, the mare said with another fake document between her hooves.
“Diapers, please sir.” Marshmallow said to a new pony from the queue.
“And…your passport sir?” Radiant asked just after that.
“Uh… What is a passport?” The colt answered. Both ponies being disappointed simply did a simultaneous facepalm, Radiant took the red seal and used it on the pony’s diaper as he walked away not only disappointed but also embarrassed by what just happened. “Next pony please!” She said.
“Sorry miss, but your son cannot pass without a diaper.” Marshmallow said to a mother.
“But I’m a big foal now!” The foal claimed.
“Not today honey. We have to follow instructions from the guards.” The mother explained and quickly put a diaper on him.
“Thanks miss. Please welcome to the Padded Empire! Remember to visit our playgrounds for foal, your colt will love them!” Marshmallow said while Radiant was sealing the passports.
“Next please…” Radiant announced. Next pony in the queue was clearly a pony without diapers.
“Radiant. I think it’s your turn.” Marshmallow said.
“Diapers, please.” Radiant said happy for the invitation.
“Just let me in please!” The colt said disappointed.
“Sorry sir, but no diapers, no seal of approval, no Padded Empire!” Radiant answered while Marshmallow joined her in the last part as if it were a chorus and sealing the passport. Later that day, all the guards reunited in the security room as earlier.
“So… How was the first day of our newbie, Marshmallow Pillow?” Captain Fluffy Clouds asked curiously.
“She had some troubles at first, but as soon as everyone found out which was her place, everything flowed as a waterfall…” Marshmallow said proud.
“Is good to know you both make a good team, you attended more ponies than any other couple of guards today, and you stopped the entrance of almost 400 fake diapers to our land. Well done ladies!” Captain Fluffy Clouds said before leaving.
“Hey Marshmallow! Our team work isn’t apparently the only thing which flows as a waterfall.” Radiant said laughing as Marshmallow diaper got wet.
“Border guards don’t waste time on potty breaks sweetie. You’ll learn that soon.” Marshmallow said before both ponies laughed a lot as other guards joined to them.
