It's been a last night since Spike ran away from home, because he was trying to set Owlicious up by making fake evidence that Owlicious killed a rat. Owlicious is Twilight's new pet owl that appeared at her window the other night. Yesterday morning, Twilight introduced him to all of her friends, Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, and Pinkie Pie, and they all liked him. Rarity gave him the save gift she got Spike, a bow tie with small gems all over it. That made Spike green with envy. Twilight and the other girls supported Owlicious over and over, and that was when he made that plan to set him up. But, it didn't go so well. Twilight said the most harsh thing that hurt Spike a lot, she said that she didn't love him anymore. Spike felt so terrible that he had to run away, somewhere where nopony could find him again. But, turns out Twilight and Owlicious found all along, due to ketchup on the bottom of his feet, it lead to a gem cave where a dragon was living in. After Twilight and Owlicious saved Spike, Twilight explained why Owlicious was helping her a lot, owls are nocturnal, so Twilight asked Owlicious to do the work for Spike and not take his place. They all went home for Spike to write his letter to Princess Celestia about his lesson about his jealousies.
Twilight was heading over to her favorite picnic area to see her friends. They were in their same positions as usual. Rarity was laying down on a fainting couch and Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy were resting on the picnic blanket. But, Applejack and Rainbow Dash's positions are different, Applejack's laying down under a tree with her front hooves behind her head and her back ones crossed. Rainbow Dash was in the same position as Applejack, although she was laying down on a beach chair and wearing sunglasses. "Hey, girls.", she greeted.
The girls looked at Twilight walking toward them. "Hey, Twilight.", they greeted back.
"We're so glad that you're going to join our picnic, Twilight.", Fluttershy said.
"And I got to tell you, last night was a fiasco.", Pinkie said cheerfully. "We all went to Fluttershy's cottage, we drank some tea, and we ate teacakes." She was talking way too fast that it was hard for her friends to understand.
"Would you mind slowing it down, Pinkie?", Applejack asked, sitting up.
"Weeee haaaad teeeeea aaaaat Fluuuutteeeershyyy's cooooottaaaaage.", Pinkie said, slowest as possible.
"Better.", Applejack said, laying back down.
"I must say, it really was a fiasco.", Rarity said.
"I mostly agree.", Rainbow Dash said. "Anyways, Twilight, if you're hungry, you can-"
"No thanks.", Twilight interrupted Rainbow Dash. "I'm not hungry, I just ate. I came here to talk about yesterday."
"About yesterday?", Rarity asked, sitting up. "Oh sure. Tell us, Twilight, what did you think about yesterday?"
"Yesterday was great.", Twilight said. "Owlicious helped me out a lot."
"Oh, that Owlicious, such a kind owl he is.", Fluttershy said.
"Well, last night made it scary.", Twilight said.
"Oh no.", Rainbow Dash said. "What happened?"
"Spike ran away last night!", Twilight yelled worried.
The girls gasped. "Spike ran away?", Applejack asked.
"Last night?", Rarity asked.
"Why would he do that?", Fluttershy asked.
"It was my fault.", Twilight said, rubbing her right hoof with the left one.
"What are you talking about?", Rainbow Dash asked, removing her glasses from her eyes.
"I caused him to run away, because I told him I didn't love him anymore!", Twilight yelled, trying to make a big explanation as possible.
"Oh my Celestia.", Fluttershy asked. "Why would you tell him that?"
"Yesterday, Spike was so jealous of Owlicious hanging out with us that he let his jealousies get the best of him.", Twilight explained with tears beginning to run down her face. "So, he tried to set him up by making fake evidence that Owlicious killed a rat, and that is when I caught him.
"Did you even apologize?", Pinkie asked.
"Yes.", Twilight said, wiping a tear from her face with a hoof. "And I think you should do the same."
"She's right, girls.", Rarity said. "We left our poor little Spike out of everything were doing for fun, we apologize to him."
"But, how are we going to apologize to him?", Pinkie asked.
Rarity's head dinged. "Ideeeeaaaaa.", she sang. "I know just the thing." She hopped off her couch.
"What's the idea, Rares?", Applejack asked.
"Why don't you girls follow me to my shop and you all will find out.", Rarity said.

At the Golden Oak Library, Spike and Owlicious were having a conversation about their species. "My goodness, Owlicious.", Spike said, putting his claw to his chest with sorrow. "I'm really sorry that happened to your family in some danger like that." Owlicious lost his family in a forest fire, he was young back then, he found the Everfree Forest and lived there for a few years. Then, that was the time when he came to Twilight's window that night. "But, you are lucky to be alive."
"Spike.", Twilight called, entering the main room.
"Oh, hey, Twilight.", Spike said to Twilight. He narrowed his mouth to Owlicious and hid it with his fingers. "Should I tell her about your past?"
Owlicious shook his head.
"Alright.", Spike said.
"Tell me what?", Twilight asked.
"Nothing.", Spike said. "There's nothing you need to hear, Twilight."
"Hm, okay.", Twilight said. "Anyways, Spike, I want you to come outside. I got a surprise for you."
Spike smiled surprisingly. "Really?", he said.
"You betcha.", Twilight said, nodding her head.
"Well, what is it?", Spike asked eagerly.
Twilight rolled her eyes as she got annoyed. "Why don't you step outside and then you'll find out.", she said. "It can't be a surprise if I'm just going to tell you."
"Ok, fine.", Spike said, putting his hands up and putting them back down.
Owlicious was about to flap his wings and follow Spike, but Twilight stopped him. "Not you, Owlicious, this is only for Spike.", she said. Owlicious drooped his wings, he felt left out.
"Hmph, who's the one feeling jealous now, huh?", Spike asked with a smug grin.
Twilight smacked him in the head with a hoof. "Don't even start, Spike.", she snorted. "Just get out there."
"Ok.", Spike snorted back. Then, he groaned as he stepped outside. "Cranky."
"What was that?", Twilight asked.
"Nothing.", Spike said. He looked forward and saw Applejack, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, and Fluttershy standing in front of him. Rarity was holding a necklace with a jewel attached to it in her magic. "Hi, girls, what are you all doing here?"
"Here you go, Spike.", Rarity said, giving him the necklace.
Spike took the necklace and looked at it. "A necklace?", he asked curiously. "What are you giving me this for?"
"Turn it around, Sugarcube.", Applejack said, doing a twirl with her hoof.
Spike flipped the gem over and saw something written in the back. It said 'we're sorry'. He looked up to girls with his eyes preparing to tear up.
"Twilight told us you tried to set Owlicious up, because you were jealous of him.", Rainbow Dash said.
"We just want to say we're sorry for not giving the amount of attention that you wanted and leaving you out of everything we're doing with Owlicious.", Pinkie said. "Also, I'm mostly sorry for mishearing you in the afternoon yesterday. You wanted a quill, but I kept giving you random stuff."
"She's right, Spike.", Applejack said. "We wanted to give you that to make it up to you."
Spike's eye pupils enlarged as tears rolled down his face. He collapsed to the ground and started to cry with his head hanging down. He knew his friends were going to hate him if he told them his secret plan to set Owlicious up. But, they apologized to him. So, why is he crying for that? "I'm so sorry, girls.", he said. "I... I just wanted him gone, because you liked him more than me. I was so jealous, I just couldn't take it anymore. And like I said, I'm really, really sorry for what I tried to do to Owlicious. Please don't hate me. I'm such a bad dragon."
Rarity walked up to him and wrapped a hoof around him for hug. For emphasis, she rested her head on his right shoulder. "Oh, Spike.", she said, kissing his right cheek. "We would never hate you. Even if you make a mistake, we'll understand.
Spike smiled and returned the embrace.
Fluttershy walked up to the two huggers and patted Spike on the head. "Besides, you're not bad, you only made a horrible decision, that's all.", she said, kissing his other cheek.
Rarity broke the embrace after Rainbow Dash, Applejack, and Pinkie Pie walked up to them. "You were the best friend I've ever had, even though I don't spend time with you, but still you're the best, Spike.", Applejack said, planting a kiss on the same cheek that Rarity kissed.
"Even though I'm more awesome than anypony else, I think you're the most awesome dragon I've ever been friends with.", Rainbow Dash said, puckering her lips and moving her head to Spike's left cheek. She caught herself and got rid of the puckery lips. "I'm not keen in kissing dragons. But, okay." She smooched the dragon's cheek anyway.
Pinkie went behind and picked him up for a tight squeeze. "Oh, Spikey, I am so sorry for being so ignorant on you.", she said, planting so many kisses on his right cheek. She broke the embrace.
Spike turned around to see Twilight walking toward him. "Twilight, do you have something to say?", he asked.
Twilight nodded. She took the necklace in her magic and put it around Spike's neck. "What I want to say is... I love you with all my heart, Spike.", she said. "You are the best number one assistant I've ever had." She planted the biggest kiss she made on his forehead. She broke it and she and the other girls wrapped their hooves all around the dragon child in a big embrace. She leaned over to whisper something special in Spike's ear. "You're still our special dragon."
