No strings attatched

A sound from the Forest

Today was supposed to be a normal day in the cottage over at the edge of Ponyville near the Everfree forest. The cottage was as simple as they come aside from the many birdhouses outside and the small pen full of chickens out back.
Inside said cottage were two figures enjoying what looked like a tea party. The first one was a small yellow pegasus with a bright pink mane and bright cyan eyes. The other figure is a much larger than the other with a slim string-like body and a collage of different animal for limbs and horns.
“Well I must say Fluttershy this tea party has been one of your best yet.” spoke the tall figure.
“Why thank you Discord, I always enjoy our time together,” responded Fluttershy as she finished her tea.
Discord looked around the room to see all sorts of animals laying around as going into little houses with tired eyes. He wasn’t so surprised knowing how much Fluttershy cared for such creatures. Noticing how tired they seemed he looked outside to notice that the sun seemed to have almost already set allowing the moon to rise for the night.
“Oh, I’m terribly sorry I didn’t realize how late it was getting.” Said discord, snapping his fingers. With a bright light, the teacups and all the dishes vanished as they reappeared in the kitchen.
“It’s alright, and you didn’t have to do that,” Fluttershy responded getting out of her chair walking over to the kitchen. “I’m happy we were able to hang out for so long.” she continued turning on the sink to begin washing the dishes.
“Well, I best be on my way, ta.” Discord said as he appeared next to the door about to leave into the quiet night. As he opened the door the night didn’t seem so quiet when a sound was coming from the Everfree forest. However, the sound was only a light echo so it was almost impossible to identify what it was. “My word, Fluttershy what is that?” he asked startled by the sudden noise coming through the open door.
Fluttershy peered through the doorway having heard the sound “I’m not sure it’s been happening for the past few weeks every other night.” she explained showing surprise as well. “I thought it might be an animal of some sort being how consistent it always is, every other night right before the sun is completely gone.” she finished looking up at Discord.
He put his lion-like paw to his chin and started to stroke it. He looked down at Fluttershy and saw she was slightly concerned by the noise. “Why don’t I go out and find what’s causing it,” he suggested moving his hand from his chin to pointing at the forest.
“That would be nice… I-if you don’t mind that is,” she spoke softly causing Discord to giggle at her.
“Do not worry my dear friend, Discord will handle everything.” He said teleporting behind her and picking her up like a doll. He then gently put her down and started marching off towards the treeline, before a flash of white light enveloped him and he teleported to the treeline in an instant. He then turned back and waved towards his friend as she waved back before continuing into the trees.

After 10 minutes of walking around in the woods, Discord found himself completely and utterly bored looking for the source of the sound. He was beginning to suspect the sound was just some wind blowing through a tree or something. Nevertheless, he trudged on not wanting to let Fluttershy down, with such a simple task mind that.
As he was walking the sound seemed to become clearer and closer than it did before, excitement jolted through his body as he teleported up ahead into a few bushes. The sound seemed to be right next to him and sounded much clearer than before, it started to sound like music.
Utterly confused he pushed some branches away and looked through to find the last thing he expected. Sitting on a rock in front of him was a dragon with white scales covering most of his body and blue scales on his underbody along with blue spines all the way down his back and tail. He could not tell the color of his eyes because they were closed. The most shocking part was the dragon had a violin in his hand and was playing it perfectly as if he was a professional. His body swaying as he played his instrument.
Discord couldn’t believe what he was seeing, the sound was that of a musical instrument, that was being played by what looked like a teenage dragon. He was so taken by this he let out a slight gasp, the dragon stopped playing seeming to hear Discord’s gasp. Opening his eyes showing them to be silver with a slit-like pupil. The dragon then stood up and approached the bush.
Thinking as quickly as he could Discord snapped his finger and enveloped himself in a white light, before vanishing once again and reappearing on the other side of the dragon behind some trees. Just in time for the dragon to investigate the bush only to find himself confused seeing nothing inside before going back and sitting on the rock.
Peering past the trees Discord saw the dragon getting back into position to play his violin once again. The Drake took a loud breath before beginning to play.

Discord just sat there listening to the song until it came to its end slightly sad it was over. He peered past the trees once more to see the dragon stand up and start to walk away into the woods.
He didn’t make it very far as a white light flashed in front of him and Discord appeared clapping his hands wildly “Bravo, bravo, exquisite performance!” he shouted as several other discords appeared clapping and whistling as well. The dragon was so surprised he fell on his back staring up at Discord in shock and slight fear.
“Y-you... You heard me?” the dragon said quietly in a hushed worried voice.
“Heard you, and loved it. It was absolutely incredible what you just did,” replied Discord appearing behind the drake lifting him back to his feet. He then turned the young drake around to face him and saw his face was full of worry “Oh come on now really, you can’t play something like that and not expect to praised by it.”
