"Woah, slow it down Princess Skystar! This is an epic adventure but still, I didn't expect hippogriffs to fly that high! I can't even see ants from Ponyville!" said Pinkie Pie in an excited tone while being carried by Princess Skystar on air. Princess Skystar couldn't understand what Pinkie Pie meant by ants but she decided to slow down. Princess Skystar loved hanging out with one of her closest friends, Pinkie Pie.

After few more distance traveled, they landed on the grass. "Pinkie, Skystar is just fine. Princess makes it formal, our friendship shouldn't require royal distance," she said.

Pinkie Pie giggled. "I actually always wondered Skystar." she said and noticed it sounded weird for her without the tag 'Princess'.  Princess Skystar looked at Pinkie Pie in a curious way, eager to learn what was bothering Pinkie Pie's mind. Pinkie Pie cleared her throat. "Why did they name you Skystar?" she asked.

Princess Skystar looked at the sky and smiled. "My mother named me. I have never seen my father actually," she said and looked down. "I was born on a day where you guys are familiar," she said. "It kind of hurts to have a birthday on a day which you can't even celebrate because of the painful remarks." she continued.

"Day we are familiar? Oh my, were you born on the day where the cake was forbidden?" Pinkie Pie asked. "That is a disaster. Wait a minute, is that even a thing? Who would restrict cake silly?" she said and looked at Princess Skystar.

"No, not the cake day." Princess Skystar laughed softly. "I was born on the day, when 'The Storm King' attacked to us," she said.

"Oh no..." said Pinkie Pie. "Please do tell me with details." Pinkie Pie added. Princess Skystar sat on the grass with Pinkie and started to watch the dawn.

Skystar cleared her throat and began. "It all started with my Grandmother, Queen Stella. She was a strong hippogriff, however not a kind and a merciful one. She was ruling her kingdom, in her middle ages. Her daughter, my mother, had newly stepped to adulthood that time. 

Queen Stella, on the land, took hippogriffs from eight to thirty-five years old forcefully from their family. Every five years, a hundred hippogriffs were picked to be trained for the hippogriff army against battle. Queen Novo, at that time, Princess Novo had a life in castle's garden. She loved and still loves animals and nature's pure beauty. One day she came up to a time in which the army was training. There my mother first saw my father. 

However, my father was not only interested, it was love at first sight. After some time, they started meeting secretly at the garden. Every day or two, they were both sneaking during the lunchtime and they were laying on the grass and watching the clear skies. Princess Novo, those times sure did not know she was falling for a guard who was still in his training.

One day at a very special sunset, they met in front of the garden again. They couldn't hold themselves from each other anymore, therefore my father, the guard, proposed to my mother with a gorgeous and a unique purple round pearl. Princess Novo was shocked, it was like a fairy tale. She couldn't resist and jumped his arms. 'I still didn't hear my answer.' my father said. She was about to reply the confirmation yet..." Princess Skystar inhaled and frowned a little.

"Yet what? Have you seen me not talking for this long lady?  GO ON!" Pinkie Pie said in an excited way. Skystar smiled a little and she nodded.

"Yet, a sound like a thunder blocked her confirmation. 'PRINCESS NOVO OF HIPPOGRIFFIA!'. Princess Novo turned her head and it was her mother. 

'M-mother what are you doing here?" she replied to that fury.' Princess Novo was scared and shocked. She was hiding her relationship for years, however, it was found out.

'I wanted to ask you the same question to you.' she said. 'How dare you attempt to create a bonding with someone not even from royalty. Guards, take this traitor for harming my daughter! Get rid of him immediately." she said. However, Princess Novo stepped forward and opened her wings.

'If she is your queen, I am your Princess... Leave this scene now!" Princess Novo was so angry.

"Step away from that filth daughter! Guards finish him!"  yelled Queen Stella.

"NO! You can't hurt him..." Princess Novo said. Tears started to come from her eyes slowly.

"Why on Equestria not?" her mother asked.

Princess Novo took a step forward. "Because I am carrying his baby," she replied and a sudden gasp from everyone followed it by. Even the guards, even Princess Novo's love were shocked.

"Say WHAT? Oh, my Celestia! This is not only interesting but also exciting! Say WHAT WHAT? Oh, My..." Pinkie was interrupted by Princess Skystar. 

"Pinkie let me finish..." Skystar said and giggled.

"Who is the baby? Who is the baby tell me..." Pinkie Pie started repetitively asking while making Skystar laugh more.



"The baby is me, of course, Pinkie," she replied and both giggled again. "Anyways back to our story...

With this knowledge, however, this didn't make Queen Stella less angry to be stopped. With more hatred growing inside she spoke up and said 'Poor baby will grow orphan then.' and with the final order with head nodding, Princess Novo witnessed her lover's death. 

Times passed and Princess Novo was almost ready to give her birth. She was never talking to her mother, although her mother tried her best to approach her. She was deeply depressed, and all she was thinking about the good memories with the guard that she loved.

However the depressed and sad days were not over, instead, it was just the beginning. One stormy night, Princess Novo woke up from her bed with the noise of a loud thunder. She got her lamp on her hand and started walking downstairs from her room. She came across to her mother. Her mother tried to apologize to her once again however she rejected.

'All I want is your forgiveness, no one would have accepted rumors like that. That baby is the only reason I couldn't make you get married to a prince." Queen Stella shouted and went upstairs to her room.

With a little-upset face, Princess Novo decided to get water however suddenly a knife slash sound came from her mother's room. She got shocked and rushed upstairs. What she saw caused her scream and guards came to Princess' cries of agony.
Her mother, Queen Stella was dead and laying on the ground... It was not a suicide, because there was someone else in the room.

"This was indeed a good message and warning for all of you." the monkey-faced person said. He had a staff in his wand and he approached the young hippogriff lady.

"M-mother!". Tears came from Queen Novo's eyes. As her mother was dead, she was the queen from now on. As the new queen, she must be the one to save her kind and her people from this danger. She walked forward to the monkey looking creature. "Who are you and what do you want?" while she was saying those words, her guards were behind her.

"Ah, my apologies. Let me introduce myself. I am Storm King. Here is the deal hippogriffs, I need your magic, and as you can see, unless I have it, I will be killing anyone who comes on my way." he said.

Queen Novo was in shock, she was still trying to understand what was going on. "We can do this the easy way and the hard way.". Storm King said.

With a sudden face punch, Storm King fell on the ground. While he was standing up, Queen Novo left the room and two of her guards were following her.

'What will we do my Queen?' one of the guards asked. 

Queen Novo stopped. 'What did you say? Q-Queen?'. She shook herself and climbed down the stairs. Suddenly she fell. 'Not now...'. Queen Novo's baby, I, was coming!"  Skystar stopped for a second and took a deep breath. "This story even makes me get excited every time I recall it," she said and giggled.

Pinkie Pie started clapping in a little angry and sarcastic way. "Congratulations Princess Skystar, you decided to come just at the perfect time," she said. They both giggled again.

"The baby was coming and Queen Novo had no choice else but to hide her kingdom... But where and with what? Suddenly she remembered her royal magic can be consumed in an item and grant wishes. She decided to collect all the magic of the land but she was thinking in the meantime where to put all the magic into. Suddenly, her eyes met with the pearl. The purple pearl her lover proposed to her with. She had a tear dropped from her eye and she hid all the magic in there.

Storm King entered the room and killed one of the guards. Queen Novo's baby was coming in the meantime all the magic of the Hippogriffia was getting into the pearl. Storm King approached Queen Novo and he prepared his staff to attack Queen Novo. "You know what they say..." Storm King said. "Like mother like daughter." and when he was about to finish Queen Novo, the pearl blasted storm king away. 

However, Storm King's army was still attacking their land and Queen Novo decided and thought deep. Deep enough to reach the bottom of the ocean and she whispered to the pearl. The pearl took all the people in Hippogriffia and teleported them all under the sea with a great environment for life. The pearl also provided an adaptation for the hippogriffs to feel comfortable in the sea. 

Everyone was almost safe and now it was time. The baby was born on this terrible and cursed night. Queen Novo, gave a birth to a female baby hippogriff. It was time to name the baby. Just like the time with her lover, Queen Novo was looking at the sky, the dark sky. At that very moment, she recognized a star in the sky, which was bright. As bright as hope. So, she decided to name her child the representation of hope and future, Skystar. That is all it basically." Princess Skystar finished her story.

She looked at Pinkie Pie who was still shocked at what was going on. However, she sure was amazed and she loved the story. The hipogriffs suffered in the past and Queen Novo, in her first mission as a queen, while struggling all those hard issues, decided and came up with the best solution to save her land and her people.

Pinkie Pie opened her picnic basket and gave a cupcake to Princess Skystar. 

"So what did you think?" Princess Skystar asked in a curious way.

"I am truly amazed, that is why instead of being talkative I am shocked right now. Your mother faced a lot and I really and deeply am so sorry about your father Skystar." Pinkie said. Princess Skystar came to her and hugged Pinkie Pie. 



"You do not have to be Pinkie. I can't even tell you how lucky I am. Thankful for my mother for her great establishments. However, after you came, to visit us, I am more thankful because I met new friends. I am so glad and blessed to have you all as friends." Princess Skystar said.

"If you continue, you will make me cry!" Pinkie said. "Hey, we are out of cupcakes... Would you like to come with me to Sugarcube Corner? I can bake new ones." she continued. Princess Skystar nodded and with Pinkie Pie, they started walking their path to the Sugarcube Corner.

Pinkie Pie was still thinking about all story... She was now even more glad to have hippogriffs as friends of ponies. One thing was sure that this sad but remarkable survival, must be told to grandkids in the future.
