Spike was running as fast as he could through the Everfree forest Spike then saw a clearing with a lake so he stopped at the edge of the lake and looked into the lake seeing his reflection in the water all he saw was his eyes bloodshot from crying, as Spike continued to look at his reflection he was remembering how he first meet Ruby.

Spike was walking through the streets of cantorlot with Twilight heading towards doughnut Joe's for lunch as Spike and Twilight were at the door of doughnut Joe's he went to open the door when he accidently touched someone's hand, "Oh I'm sorry I didn't mean to" said Spike as he looked up at the mare and staring at her with 'the look'.
"It's ok handsome" said the strange mare.
Spike blushed a little but didn't notice Twilights death glare to the mare, "so I didn't catch your name miss" said the green haired teen, "my name's Ruby handsome and I was wondering since I am here alone mind if I join you?" said Ruby.
"no you can join me and Twilight and my name's Spike by the why" said the Spike.
Present day
After Spike recalled on how he meet Ruby he looked into the lake and saw his reflection in the water all he saw was a sorry excuse for a wolf, "I'm no wolf wolf's are supposed to be strong and here I am thinking of my ex-girlfriend when I have 6 mares who are in love with me" said Spike.
He then heard an evil growl, "Well looks like we both agree on that" said the strange wolf.
Spike recognise the voice and transformed into his wolf form ready to fight an alpha, "What do you want Dark Shadow?" asked Spike with a death glare.
"Oh I was just hunting with my pack and found you here so it's a win-lose situation the win for us because you will last us until winter comes the lose for you well I don't have to explain it to you" said Dark Shadow with an evil glare.
"I won't let you kill me in fact I got a deal for you, you and me one on one death match if I when I have both your pack and your territory and if you when you can have my territory deal" said Spike extending his paw for Dark Shadow to take it.
"Deal" said the Shadow shaking Spike's paw accepting the deal, "Wolf pack don't interfere with the battle or I will kill you" said Shadow.
As Spike and Shadow were getting ready for the battle they didn't notice the Twilight and the others watching including Ruby.
Spike was the first one to attack Shadow as he scratched his eye leaving 3 claw marks over it bleeding a lot but despite the pain that Shadow was in he managed to move his paw under the dirt and throw it at Spike's eyes temporally blinding him, Shadow then bit down on Spike's top right paw, despite Shadow biting Spike on the paw he didn't give up he needed to win to end Shadow's rain of terror over his pack. Spike and Shadow then jumped at each other with the claw's out as the two landed Spike was victories on finishing Dark Shadow once and for all Spike then howled as loud as he can and his new pack joining in on the howl. Spike then fainted from all the blood lose and everything went black.
