Chapter 20: War for the Ages- part 2: United We Stand

(Nirn, Skyrim, 3rd P.O.V)

When the Equestrian, Aedric, and Daedric campaign arrive in Skyrim all of the Equestrians are in awe of the wild, untamed, and mountainous landscape of the northern province of the Empire. “This is where you grew up?!” Luna asked in complete shock. “Yes Lulu, this is where I was born and raised.” Kai replied. “You know it’s somewhat ironic that this is where we fight for our future.” Serana said as she looked towards the Throat of the World. “Indeed.” Akatosh agreed. Kai strode forward, unsheathed his sword and stabbed it into the ground. “From the Soul Cairn I summon the forces of the Ideal Masters to enforce my will!” He shouted as he took a dagger and cut his hand to offer his blood to the Ideal Masters as payment for their services. Out of the ground come thousands of Mistmen, Wrathmen, Bonemen, and even the Ideal Masters are ready for war. Many of the Equestrians are slightly unnerved by the new set of allies, but quickly concluded that it’s for strength in numbers.

“Now this is an unexpected surprise.” Kai said as he looked at the Ideal Masters. “True, but we thought that it would be boring to not join the fight, so we decided to help.” The first Master said. “Fair enough, now remember Jyggalag is my fight.” Kai replied as everyone nodded. Kai’s army soon moved through the forest near Ivarstead to encounter the first line of Jyggalag’s army in a defensive position. “Charge that roadblock, and push on through!” Luna ordered as she shot beams of magic at the first barricade to weaken it. The rest of the Equestrians charged forward and engaged some of defending infantry.

The battle commenced with soldiers yelling and multiple explosives going off on the battlefield. For many, this engagement will be their last, others may experience what most will have to bear for the rest of their lives, but regardless, Kai’s army was able to break a hole in Jyggalag’s defense and opening a nich to squeeze the army into. “Keep pushing them towards the stairs, and we’ll set up our base camp about halfway up the mountain!” Kai shouted as he stabbed a Nord through his abdomen. The march was long, especially for those who are carrying the wounded. “Jyggalag isn’t going to make this easy is he?” A soldier asked Kai. “Absolutely not. He’s probably mobilizing his forces in the other holds to converge on this mountain and overwhelm us with sheer numbers.” Kai replied as he looked off into the distance.

“So what do we do?” Shining Armor asked. “For now rest, then we push forward near dawn, set up a barricade of our own while I push forward on my own.” Kai said with a somber tone. “Is that wise?” Celestia asked. “It’s either that or wait for the massive army marching towards us.” Molag replied. “Yeah the first option sounds better.” Celestia said realizing what Molag meant.

War and combat were not strange to me or Tia, but I’ve never fought a war of this scale before. Before a few months ago I never would’ve imagined that my quest for love would end up like this, but I wouldn’t want it any other way. “I just wish I could help you fight Jyggalag.” I thought to myself as I gazed at the beautiful night sky with Nirn’s two moons high in the sky, and the aurora gleaming in the sky above. “Beautiful isn’t it?” James(Sheogorath) asked as he approached me. “It is, possibly as elegant as the nights I create myself.” I replied as a smile curls onto my face as I continue to stare.

“You really wanna help him don’t you?” He asked. I nodded in response. “I know you do, trust me all of us want to, but he and Jyggalag have a couple of personal issues to settle, and he doesn’t want us to get hurt.” James said as he looked out over the valley in the distance. “What is it?” I asked as I saw the scowl on James’ face. “We need to move, that army is massing just outside of Riften.” James reported. “Ok now we’re on the clock, Gods only know when they’ll be upon us. Let’s pack up and move out gentlemen and stallions.” Troops began to pack in the rations and tents as quick as possible. Not long after they were on the march again up the mountain.

“I can’t believe we have move out again!” Rainbow Dash said with a groan. “I don’t like it either Dash, but it’s either keep moving up the mountain to gain ground, or wait for the enemy to surround us.” Gilda said as she nudged her friend. “I guess that’s true, but still, the sun’s not up and it’s near freezing up here!” Rainbow complained as the army kept blasting enemy troops off the ledges and moving forward. The small pockets of enemy squads seemed to become less and less frequent the farther they traveled up the mountain. Even if some were lost along the treacherous climb, the push was relentless through the snow-covered rock.

Eventually all their efforts paid off as they were now just outside of High Hrothgar, home of the Greybeards. “Okay everyone, this is the final push, after this I’ll continue on my own.” Kai said as he took a seat on the stairs outside the monastery. There were cheers from the crowd and Luna took a seat beside Kai. “Promise me you’ll come back to me.” Luna said as she kissed Kai’s cheek. “I will not let him win.” Kai said as he hugged Luna, stood up and walked through the doors of High Hrothgar.

I walked into the old monastery expecting something to attack me, but nothing came to attack. “Show yourself!” I shouted, my voice echoing throughout the ancient halls. “Ah, Dragonborn it’s nice to see you again.” Master Arngeir said as he stepped out of the shadows with Wulfgar, Einarth, and Borri following him. “It’s nice to see some friendly faces in the midst of this mess.” I replied as I hugged the old monk. “I agree Dragonborn, have your forces enter to shelter themselves from the cold, Jyggalag awaits you at the summit.” Arngeir said as he walked towards the door. “You go on ahead, I’ll keep going.” I said as I walked to the opposite side of the room and out the door leading to the summit.

“I haven’t used this shout in a long time.” I said as I inhaled deeply. “LOK, VAH, KOOR!” I shouted towards the raging snow as I ascended the mountain. Finally I reached the top of the Throat of the World, like I did all of those years ago. Unsurprisingly, Jyggalag was sitting on a throne near Paarthunax’s perch. “It’s surprising to see that you came here alone, but it matters not.” Jyggalag said as he began to stand and grip his sword. “Let’s just get on with this so I can go home and begin my life as a married man.” I said as I took a combative stance. “Very well, may the victor be blessed with the spoils.” Jyggalag said as he pointed his great sword to me and charged. I charged in return and at the very moment our swords clashed the fate of Nirn and Equestria was now o the edge of a knife. Whomever won this battle determined the fate of the universe. “I cannot allow myself to lose!” I inwardly shouted as I pushed Jyggalag away and charged again.
