Spike Pie

Love Poison pt.1

Spike left earlier than usual. He had lost a bet with Big Mac over a hoofball game, so he was going to do his chores for the day. Spike's first job was to pick up some hay from town. Spike had his own cart so he made his way down and found a very tall stack of hay.

"I wonder why they don't just have it delivered to the farm?" he thought. As he began to load up the cart, he heard what sounded like a musical number. "oh… Musical numbers usually mean something fun or weird is happening," he said as he picked up the next block when suddenly Scootaloo popped out over the top of the hay pile.

"Doing anything special for Heart's and Hooves day?"

"Nope," Spike said as he continued his work, the music continued but he was too busy to actually listen to the lyrics.

"Wait," Applebloom interrupted, "are we talking about Pinkie's brother?"

"Yeah," Scootaloo answered, "...wait why didn't you just call hi..."

"Brother rhymed," Applebloom replied as the three watched Spike walk past them. "And I suppose he might work...Spike's job is basically to be sweet and make others happy."

"So he's the perfect match, Miss Cheerilee is sweet and she makes us happy," Sweetie reasoned, "So....let’s make them fall in love!"

"Yeah!" The trio yelled as they ran after Spike, reaching him just as he was about to balloon himself off with his cart,

"Hey, Spike!" Sweetie called. "We need to ask you something!"  Spike turned on the spot and turned to look at them making a pose that could only be described as goofy.

"What is it that I can do for you?"

"Well you see… we found out our teacher..."

"Miss Cheerilee?"

"Yes, Miss Chee… wait you know Miss Cheerilee?"

"I know everypony… and also a griffin. And I'm sorry to say, but I ain't so good at homework problems?"

"Homework problems?"

"I can't think of any other reason why you'd bring her up; I suggest you three go ask your sister for help."  And before the trio could properly respond, Spike had finished turning his cart into a hot air balloon and got on. "Talk to yall later," he waved as he headed down to Sweet Apple Acres.

"Now what? Spike isn't exactly an easy dragon to explain things to?" The trio was trying to think of ways they could get the two together and ended up walking into Twilight.

Spike had just finished his work for the day and had just gotten back to Sugarcube Corner when he found a letter addressed to him taped onto the door.

"Oh! I love opening mail!" he exclaimed as he opened it.

Dear Spike,

Please come to Sweet Apple Acres for a picnic.

XoXo Miss Cheerilee

Spike looked at the letter. "Hmm... I can't think of any reason Cheerilee would want to have a picnic with me...Maybe the CMC are planning a prank on me… I love pranks!" he said cheerfully and he turned and ran back to Sweet Apple Acres, not noticing Pinkie as he ran past her.

"Pranks?" she asked. When she spotted the note Spike had left behind and read it,  she gasped, "A love letter! No wonder he looks so happy! Oh, I hope it goes well, I have to tell Mom and Dad, and Limestone, and Marble, and Maud! And my friends, an.." Pinkie kept naming ponies to tell as she ran inside.
