Somnambula. A desert town in Southern Equestria named after the legendary hero, Somnambula, who saved Southern Equestria from ruin when the land was terrorized by evil forces that plagued the land a long time ago. Since then, the town has been at peace and is famous for being named after the legendary hero, archaeological digs, and ancient temple excavations.
In the town, during the night, Tempest Shadow and Grubber are walking through the town in search of a supposed sighting of a Celestia card by one of their informants. While they are walking, Tempest thinks back to her conversation with Raven.
(Flashback)
Tempest said holding Raven by the neck "What do you mean I'm too late; what have you done?"
"Simple. I made sure the Celestia and Luna cards would be released so you and your organization would never get your hands on the cards."
Grubber shouted outside "Tempest, you need to take a look outside."
Tempest said as she saw the cards fly away through the window "No. What have you done?"
Raven said "If you want the cards now, you have to go after themselves."
(Flashback Ends)
Back in Somnambula, Tempest Shadow and Grubber entered a bar where they are supposed to meet their contact. Tempest Shadow went to the bar keep and asked if anyone by the name John Doe is; he responded by saying that he is in the private room on the second floor. They head for the second floor where their contact is waiting for them and enter the private booth.
Tempest Shadow said "Dr. Caballeron."
The Doctor asked after finishing his drink "Who wants to know?"
Tempest Shadow said "The Big 5."
Dr. Caballeron said "So, you are Tempest Shadow. I was told by Number 1 that you would be meeting me."
Tempest Shadow said "That is correct. He said that you have information about a mysterious entity or strange occurrence going on in Somnambula."
Dr. Caballeron said "Yes, but before I mention anything I need my payment first."
Tempest Shadow said after showing him a big bag of money "You will get this after you tell me your information; just know that if I find out that you are lying then I'll be back and there will be no place for you to hide."
Dr. Caballeron said explained "I understand. Over the past few days, there have been reports of a strange figure coming out during the day and attacking ponies at the excavation site. However, this figure seems to attack the strongest of ponies there."
Tempest Shadow asked "What do you mean by "strongest ponies"?"
Dr. Caballeron said "Ponies that do all the heavy lifting, guard the archaeologist from bandits and wild animals; that sort of thing. This figure came up toward them all and beat them all up."
Tempest asked inquiring for more information "He didn't attack anypony else?"
Dr. Caballeron said "No; just the ponies who fit the criteria I mentioned. The figure doesn't attack anypony else."
Tempest asked "And this figure only attacks during the day?"
Dr. Caballeron said "That is correct."
Tempest said giving him the money before she and Grubber left "Here, as promised."
Dr. Caballeron said "Pleasure doing business with you."
Grubber said "Well, that was easy. Now all we need to do is wait during the morning to go after the Celestia card."
Tempest said "Too easy. I want you to follow him tomorrow morning and make sure that he wasn't keeping anything else from us."
Grubber said while eating a piece of cake "Got it."
The next day, Tempest Shadow headed to the excavation sight to find this mysterious figure and take him or her down. The head of the excavation sight had everyone clear out so Tempest could handle this on her own; however, he was worried that Tempest would be another victim of this figure's attacks. She simply told him that she can handle this on her own and won't be another victim. After everyone left, Tempest saw the figure come toward her; it turns out to be an Earth Pony with bandaged hands, orange robe, brown shoes, and a brown medallion. Tempest says: "So, you decided to show yourself to me after all. You consider me worthy of your abilities, Fight card."
Back with Grubber, he is following Dr. Caballeron and seeing where he is going. As he is following him, he notices that the doctor is holding a pan scale with the sun on one side the moon on the other. Grubber, while eating a piece of cake, is looking at a book titled "Celestia and Luna Cards Guide" and looks up the image in the book since he thinks he's seen that scale before in the book; he has. The pan-scale is actually a Celestia card, The Libra. It's an inanimate type that doesn't control anyone or have a specific master unless it gets sealed. It has the ability to tell if someone is lying or not. From the looks of it, Dr. Caballeron is planning on using it for something but he doesn't know what. Eventually, he followed the doctor to a house almost away from the town where a mare is being tied up and guarded by three thug ponies.
Back with Tempest, she is dodging all the punches and kicks coming from The Fight. Eventually, it got to the point where she had to use her hands and feet to block the attacks coming from The Fight. Tempest thought to herself that The Fight's moves are relentless and she sees no end to them. She knew that she had to end this quickly. She got close to The Fight as best she could, placed her broken horn in front of its face, and let out a strong spark that blinded The Fight. Tempest then kicked The Fight back away from her and threw a black and green orb at The Fight. As soon as it hit, The Fight's body started to get covered in a strange rock; it tried to Fight it off but it was too late and it became completely encased in the rock. Tempest Shadow then grabbed a purple amulet with a yellow and black eye on it and said: "Fight. I command you to submit to me in the name of darkness. Become my eternal slave and be sealed away from the sun." The Fight then turned into energy and was sealed inside of the amulet.
After that, she headed for the spot where her airship is located and waited for Grubber to report back on Dr. Caballeron. Eventually, he arrived and he had The Libra in his hand.
Tempest asked "What took you?"
Grubber explained "I had to wait for the right moment to get this Celestia card and I wanted to buy one of their Somnambula cakes before we left. But like you said, Caballeron was keeping things from us; he's trying to track down the Celestia and Luna cards so he can use them for himself and thought The Libra would help him do that along with this mare he had tied up. I think he name was A.K. Yearling. I only got The Libra when she and the doctor's goons were fighting so I was able to take advantage of the confusion to get it; also, it didn't resist me taking it"
Tempest said "I'll tell our masters about him. Good work, Grubber. Now put the Libra down before you get cake stains on it."
Grubber said putting it down while still eating cake"Alright."
Tempest said after pulling out the amulet "Libra. I command you to submit to me in the name of darkness. Become my eternal slave and be sealed away from the sun."
The Libra then turned into energy and went inside of the amulet. Afterwards, they got on board their airship and left the town.
In Tempest's room, she walks to her mirror and places a purple stone in it. As a result, Five figures covered in darkness appeared before her in the mirror.
Said a male voice "Tempest Shadow, report."
Tempest said "Of course. I have obtained The Fight card and sealed it away. Grubber has also managed to obtain The Libra as well, so we now have two Celestia cards at your disposal."
Said an old creäture's voice "Excellent work, Tempest. But can you care to explain how a creature such as Grubber managed to get such a Celestia card, regardless if the card is not picky about who uses the power, sealed or not?"
Tempest explained "According to him, he managed to get it during the confusion between Dr. Caballeron's encounter with sompony by the name A.K. Yearling; he's trying to get the Celestia and Luna cards for himself."
Said the same male voice "Interesting. We will have one of our agents deal with Dr. Caballeron. You focus on finding the cards and bringing them to us."
Tempest said "Understood."
Said a female buggy voice "One other thing, Tempest. If you find someone by the name Captain Celaeno, bring her to us; she has information on the Pillar of Healing and who is supposed to wield the Element of Healing."
