//------------------------------// // Prologue // Story: EoH Evolution: Season 1 // by Bahamut0 //------------------------------// Castalot. 21 years before Nightmare Moon's return. Aether rushed to the hospital, and headed right to the room his wife Lumina was assigned to. "I'm sorry I'm late! I came as soon as I could! You said there was something unusual about my newborn child?" "Yes Mr. Stream." The doctor replied. "But before you ask, there's nothing serious. It's just...odd. You must take a look for yourself." The doctor lead Aether inside where Aether's wife Lumina was cradling their newborn son in her arms. "Congratulations Mr. Stream. You now have a healthy baby boy. But now I must tell you of the unusual thing I had mentioned earlier. Mrs. Stream? Would you please let us see your son's back?" Lumina nodded, and turned her son around. The baby had Aether's white hair, and white skin with a faint blue tint like his mother. And from both of them, he had their sapphire eye color. Aether was shocked. His son was already born with a talent crest! "Now you see what I was talking about. Normally, most children are born without marks. The marks only surfacing once they find their special talent or skill. But it looks like your son is a special case." Aether simply smiled down at his infant son. "He is. Because he's the best thing to happen to us." As soon as Aether held his son in his arms, the baby burst into a fit of giggling! "Well would you look at that? He's bursting with joy at seeing his old man! Hmm." And with that, a name popped into Aether's head. "Welcome to the world Burst Stream!" Baby Burst just giggled as he squirmed around in his father's arms. 7 years later. The Summer Sun Celebration. "Dad! Give me a boost! I can't see the sun being raised!" Burst Stream complained. "Is Princess Celestia really able to raise it everyday? Does she get a headache from doing it?" Aether let out a chuckle at his son's enthusiasm. "Yes Burst. Princess Celestia's the Princess of the Sun. And this day's all about celebrating her for all she's done as our princess. Maybe you'll be able to see her since she's about to raise the sun. Provided I give you a boost." "Cool!" Burst cheered as he was hoisted up onto his father's shoulders! Burst tried to get a look at the princess, but he had to shield his eyes from how bright the sun was and missed his chance! "Aw man!" Lumina smiled down at her son as Aether lowered him to the ground. "I'm sorry you didn't get a good look at the princess. But I think I know how I can make it up to you Burst. Does some ice cream sound good to you?" "Yeah!" Burst said with an eager nod! Later that night, Burst threw himself on his bed after a long day of celebrating. "That was so much fun! I don't know if I'll be able to go to sleep!" "Oh, I wouldn't be too sure about that." Lumina said with a giggle as she and Aether walked into their son's room. "If you don't go to bed, you won't get to hear your favorite story!" Burst gasped, and immediately crawled under the covers! "On second thought, I'm feeling pretty tired right about now." And as Burst got comfy, his mom told him about the Legend of the Two Sisters. But as the story began, a thought began to form in Burst's head. One that related to what his dad had told him earlier today. "Hey, Mom? The older princess in the story, she raised the sun, right?" "Well, yes. That's right Burst." Lumina answered with a puzzled expression. "But why do you ask?" Burst scratched his head. "Well...does that mean Princess Celestia is the older sister from the story?" Burst then took the book from Lumina's hands. "And if she was the older sister, who was the younger sister?" "Burst..." Aether said with a sigh. "You're right. This story is about Princess Celestia and her little sister. Princess Luna. Celestia thought that as long as she loved Luna, Luna wouldn't need anyone else's love. But she was wrong. And as a result, Luna was banished after turning into Nightmare Moon. Her jealousy leading to her imprisonment on the moon." Burst tilted his head in confusion. "But...how do you know about all this Dad? How do you know that I'm right?" "Because I was there." Aether said as he dispelled the enchantment that hid his wings. Burst's tiny jaw dropped in awe. "Like the princesses, I'm an Avatar. I can and will live forever. That's how I know you're right." Lumina but a hand on Burst's back. "But Burst...there's no reason to be upset. The story had a happy ending." "No it didn't!" Burst cried as he shook his head! "All this time Princess Celestia's been alone! She had to banish her own sister to the moon! And Luna's been trapped all this time!" Burst brushed one of his fingers against the picture of the younger sister sealed in the moon and the elder sister hanging her head in sadness. "Well it might not stay that way." Aether said as he wrapped one of his wings around his son. "There's an old legend saying Nightmare Moon will return on the one thousandth year of her banishment on the longest day of the year." Burst leaped to his feet! "If she does, then I'll be waiting for her! Maybe if someone were willing to be her friend, to even try talking to her, maybe she wouldn't be so bad! And maybe that'll let her make up with Princess Celestia! I'll be the one to give that sad story a happy ending!" "You just might be able to make that promise to the princess herself." Aether said with a chuckle. "Because once summer's over, you're going to Celestia's School for Gifted Magi. Especially after you passing that entrance test. I don't think any of the proctors ever saw a child who can power up a spell generator with a single magic blast." Aether chuckled as he remembered the powerful wave of magic Burst had unleashed. Granted the result was much more controlled thanks to Aether teaching Burst how to control his massive amount of magic. The proctors muttered something about being thankful for not seeing anyone turned into plants. For some reason. "AWESOME!" Burst was practically bouncing off the walls! Or rather, off the bed. "I never thought I'd say this, but I can't wait for summer to end!" The summer came and went. And sure enough, Burst's first day at CSGU arrived. He was pretty nervous going to such a big school. But fortunately, he'd packed a friend along to help alleviate the pressure. "It's just you and me Prime." Burst said to his Optimus Prime plushie. "Here we go!" It went like any other first day. But then the teacher asked the class to make a promise they could keep. And Burst had volunteered to go first. "My promise is to give the story of the Two Sisters a happy ending!" The classroom was silent for mere seconds. And it then erupted into mocking laughter and insults. Burst, being a seven-year-old kid, did the only logical thing he could. He ran out of the classroom with tears streaming down his face, and backpack in tow. He was so busy running away that he didn't even notice he'd come to a stop at the castle gardens. Exhausted from running Burst fell to his knees. Sobs still wracking his body as he stared down at the ground. However, he was not alone with his tears for much longer. "Is everything alright little one?" A female voice called out to Burst Stream. Burst spun around to face the source of the voice, and he was frozen in awe. The woman who had spoken to him had milky white skin, violet eyes, and hair that was sectioned into blue, green, pink, and purple. Coupled with the white dress with golden designs on it and the large white wings on her back, Burst almost thought she was an angel she was so beautiful. Celestia giggled when she noticed Burst's awestruck expression. "You know, it's rude to stare." "Oh, sorry!" Burst said as he shook his head. "I'm just kinda having a bad day at Princess Celestia's school. All the other kids laughed at me for the promise I made." Celestia took a seat next to Burst on the grass. "Well what promise would that be?" "I promised to give the Legend of the Two Sisters a happy ending." Burst said sadly. "But they all made fun of me for making that promise. And then I ran away and wound up here." Burst let out a sigh. "I don't think I've ever been this mad or angry before in my life. I even thought about beating them all up just to get them to be quiet. But just because I can do something doesn't mean I should. The hero's gotta be the bigger person, right?" Celestia smiled. "You're wise beyond your years it would seem. As for your promise, I think it's very sweet of you. But why did you make such a promise in the first place?" "Because I want Princess Celestia to be happy." Burst answered with a small smile. "She had to banish her own sister and she's been alone all this time. I've never seen the princess before, but I hope I can see her actually smile when she and her sister are reunited!" Burst then took a good look at Celestia. "Thank you for listening to me. I feel a bit better now." He then got an idea. "I was gonna give this to the princess as a sign of my promise, but I don't know where she's at. So could you please give it to her?" Burst handed Celestia his Optimus Prime plushie with a goofy smile on his face. "I think I'll head back to class now. We were going to head to the library next. Maybe I can catch them!" As Burst raced off, Celestia looked down at the plushie he gave her. Simply smiling as she held onto it. Sure enough, Burst had met back up with his class. Unfortunately, some of his classmates were still in a teasing mood and decided to continue his mockery. That is, until a girl decided to give them a piece of her mind. "Hey!" A girl with purple skin called out! "Knock it off and leave him alone! Or else the teacher's going to hear about this!" The girl smiled as the bullies backed off. Burst noting most of all the streak of magenta in her hair. "You okay?" Burst nodded and smiled. "Yeah. But my whole class made fun of me. So this wasn't as bad. I'm Burst Stream! Nice to meet you!" "I'm Twilight Sparkle." Twilight said with a smile. "Your first day too?" Burst nodded. She seems nice. Maybe things won't be so bad here...
