A Twist in Evolution

Epilogue

Back in the underground prison that the pale brown man was being held in, he could feel the power he had just held on his head fade from memory. His breath shuddered. He had been beaten. This time. His smile was out of place in the prison, and he just floated there, in his cell. He waited. He had prepared for this before he had attacked the city, but he knew that he wasn't going to be able to try and get back the Ultimate Manic. He had a plan. He always had a plan. The mermaid legend book wasn't the only book he had gotten, and mermaid legends weren't the only legends he knew of. A humming started vibrating through the water, and the man smiled. That was his way out. A bright light shone in through the cell window, and it shone so bright the guards couldn't see anything else. When it disappeared, and the guards sights came back, they saw that the man was gone.

"Oh, we're in some deep crandong," one of them said.

"Watch your profanity," the other said. "Although we really are."
