//------------------------------// // Animals Under Our Spell // Story: Animals Under Our Spell // by The Dark Wolf //------------------------------// After losing their source of power, Adagio Dazzle, Aria Blaze, and Sonata Dusk ran away and lived on a farm. Life couldn't be more miserable for Adagio and Aria, though Sonata had fun playing in the mud with the pigs. Until one night, Adagio noticed a surge of Equestrian magic, and what looked like a shooting star fell near a tree. She got out of bed and ran over to the tree, noticing three rocks had been struck by the Equestrian magic, turning into glowing green gems. She had a feeling they were about to get their powers back. ... The next day, the sirens walked into a park where people were walking, or else making friendly conversation. The sirens wore the gems around their necks. They touched them and began singing. From their beautiful singing voices, they were sure they had regained their power. Except no one was falling under their spell. "Are you kidding me?" said Aria. A bird that was nearby flew over to them and perched on Aria's shoulder. "Shoo!" said Aria. The bird flew away. A squirrel ran over to Sonata and climbed on her. "Wait..." Adagio touched her gem. "Run around in circles three times." The squirrel jumped onto the ground, and then ran around in a circle three times. "Our powers have returned, they're just a little different than they were." "We can only brainwash animals?" said Aria. "That won't help us reach full power." "No, but it will help us get our revenge!" Adagio grinned evilly. ... Sunset Shimmer was going for a walk in the park. Unlike the other girls, who wore their usual outfits (seen through the majority of the first two movies) today, she was wearing a white and pink shirt with jeans. Suddenly, five dogs, each a different breed and size, ran up to her and started to bark very loudly. Sunset ran, and the dogs chased her. She climbed over a fence, which usually worked, but something was different about these dogs. They knew how to climb fences, and continued to run after her, barking madly. Sonata watched the dogs chase Sunset away, giggling to herself. She hoped one of them bit her in the butt. Or all of them. ... Rainbow Dash was running some laps around the track, getting her exercise for the day. She stopped after five laps, and drank from a water bottle, for she was dripping with sweat. Even her hair was as soaked as it had been when she had been showing off really hard in the heat of the stage lights during the semifinal of the battle of the bands. Of course, she was used to it. She had just drained the water bottle when a swarm of bees attacked her. Rainbow tried to swat them away, but they were very persistent. Then a flock of birds attacked her. They pecked at her, pulled her hair, and scratched her with their talons. Rainbow couldn't swat them away, so she did the only thing she could do: She ran as fast as her legs would carry her. She wished she had brought her geode, then she could outrun them easily. As it was, she was still fast enough to stay ahead of them, but after running several laps she would tire out soon. Aria snickered as she watched Rainbow run. She hoped they'd catch her and attack her relentlessly. ... Sunset and Rainbow's paths converged as they ran from their pursuers. They dove into a small pond. The birds, bees, and dogs stopped, looked around for a few moments, and then cleared out. Sunset and Rainbow resurfaced as soon as they couldn't hold their breaths any longer. Which didn't take as long as it could have, because they were out of breath from running so much. "What was that all about?" said Rainbow as she and Sunset climbed out of the pond. Sunset wrung her hair. "I don't know, but it didn't seem natural. I've never had that many dogs chase me at once, or climb fences." "Yeah, there was something up with those birds." "Maybe Fluttershy can stop them. Or at least find out what's going on." "I'd better get my geode first, in case something like that happens again." ... Rainbow and Sunset reached Fluttershy's house only to find her tied up in a cauldron full of water. Her pets had just lit a flame under the cauldron, intending to boil and eat her. At the speed of lightning, Rainbow got Fluttershy out of the cauldron. The pets angrily advanced on them, so she quickly got them a bit of a distance away. "I don't understand," said Fluttershy as Sunset untied her. "They've never tried to eat me before. They've never tried to hurt anyone before. I even had my geode and asked them to stop, but they wouldn't listen." "It's almost like someone was controlling them," said Sunset. ... "Bats," said Adagio, rubbing the gem around her neck and facing a cave full of bats. "Become vampire fruit bats! But without making the seeds grow faster!" The bats' eyes glowed red. "Now, go to Applejack's farm and drain all the apples!" Applejack was making some cider at her apple orchard when the bats flew in and swarmed her apple trees. "What in tarnation...?" In minutes, all the apples had been drained. Applejack couldn't believe it. Never in her life had bats attacked her apple trees. There was something fishy going on... ... Pinkie Pie just finished making a host of delicious cakes, cupcakes, and pies. "I can't wait to taste all of these!" said Pinkie. She was just about to eat a cupcake when a pig licked the icing off. "Hey! That was mine! Wait, where did you come from?" Almost immediately, the room was full of pigs, which were eating all of Pinkie's desserts. "What gives? Don't you know how long it took to make all these?" Pinkie threw a cake in a pig's face. The pig licked the frosting off. "How dare you take the cake?" Sonata giggled at the carnage. ... "Come back here, you!" Rarity chased the raccoon that had stolen plans for some of her more elaborate fashion designs. Though the raccoon was fast, she kept up with it and chased it all the way to the farm where the Dazzlings lived. "I've got you now, ruffian!" said Rarity as she cornered the raccoon at an upper level of the barn. "Give me back those papers now!" The raccoon looked terrified. "Oh, don't even pretend!" said Rarity. "You knew exactly what you were doing! I don't know what's going on but this ends now!" As soon as Rarity was almost close enough to grab it, the raccoon pulled a switch. A trapdoor opened under Rarity, and she fell with a splash into a vat of molasses. Rarity resurfaced, coughing and sputtering, and started to climb out, lifting her right leg above the edge of the vat. She fell sideways out of the vat and to the ground. She was covered in molasses from head to toe, and she didn't want to imagine what her hair must look like right now. She sat for about fifteen seconds before she heard hysterical laughter. She turned and saw Aria Blaze. "What are you doing here?" Rarity stood up, gooey molasses dripping off her hair and skirt. "Oh, I just so happened to see what that raccoon was carrying and I'm going to take those papers from him and shred it. Then I'll burn it and scatter the ashes." "You wouldn't dare!" "Of course, him throwing you into the molasses was priceless!" "I'll get you for this!" Rarity walked menacingly towards Aria, her shoes making squelching sounds. "Oh, I'm so scared!" Aria snickered. She waited until Rarity was in a certain position, and rubbed her gem. "You! Do what we planned!" A horse Aria was facing stomped the floor, flipping a loose floorboard and sending Rarity flying through the barn window and into a mud field full of pigs. Rarity sat up and moaned. As if she needed to get any dirtier. But... it seemed as though Aria had commanded the horse. And she had rubbed a new gem around her neck... She stood up and started to run towards the city, but tripped over a pig and fell facedown in the mud. "That was even better than I imagined," laughed Aria. ... Rarity found the other girls, including Twilight, in front of Canterlot High, discussing the unusual behavior of the animals. "What happened to you?" said Rainbow Dash, noticing Rarity's messy state. "The sirens, that's what!" said Rarity. "I found out they've got new magic gems and are using them to control the animals to their evil will!" "They must be using them to get revenge on us," said Sunset. "That explains why they haven't targeted me," said Twilight, for it had been her Equestrian counterpart that had defeated them last time. "Well there's only one thing we can do about that!" said Rainbow Dash. "Can I take a shower first?" said Rarity. "I'm absolutely filthy." "Just go for a dip in the pond," said Rainbow. "We've got three siren butts to kick. Again." ... The sirens stood at their farm planning their next course of vengeance, when Sunset, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, and Twilight marched up to them. "We know what you're doing, and it ends now!" said Sunset. "Which one of you screwed up?" said Adagio. "It must have been Sonata!" said Aria. "But I have a contingency plan!" She rubbed her gem. "Spray them now!" A pack of skunks sprayed the seven girls, who began gagging at the stench. The sirens fell on their backs, laughing hard. "Let's worry about that later," said Sunset. "Let's get them now while they're distracted." "Fluttershy, what better way to free the animals than with your song?" said Rainbow Dash. "Besides, it's the one we used to defeat them last time!" The girls sang their song, ponied up, and destroyed the sirens' gems again. All the animals returned to their senses. "Not again..." said Adagio. "You should have learned your lesson the first time," said Sunset. "I can't wait to get back to my pets," said Fluttershy. "It must have been awful being under the sirens' spell." "First we gotta do something about this skunk smell," said Twilight. "Applejack, be a dear and throw Aria in the mud for me," said Rarity, who was looking considerably cleaner after her swim. "You got it, Rares!" said Applejack. Once Aria was sitting in the mud with the pigs, the skunks "apologized" to Fluttershy. "That's all right," said Fluttershy. "It wasn't your fault, it was theirs. Would you mind spraying those mean girls for us?" ... Half an hour later, Sunset, Twilight, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Fluttershy, Applejack, and Pinkie Pie were taking a bath in tomato sauce, inside Rarity's hot tub, still wearing their outfits from this morning as they had been sprayed too. While at the farm, the sirens were doing the same in their more cramped bathtub.
