//------------------------------// // Fell to Harmony // Story: Broken Reflections // by CloverStarshine //------------------------------// Equestria: Morning (Fell Twilight) "Uggh.." said Twilight as she woke up, arising from her slumber. She looked around and rubbed her head. All Twilight could think of was the strange dream she’d just had, in which she’d met a reflection of herself. That alicorn had looked like her but wasn't. To her, that version of her had looked really wimpy and pathetic. Now she was never going to hear the end of it when she told Spike. She got out of bed, and her eyes widened at the sight around her. Her room had crystal walls that looked delicate and shone in the sunlight, which made Twilight wince since she barely ever saw the sun. She saw a few bookshelves filled with books, and her bed wasn't hard but soft and comfortable. The fuck? thought Twilight as she looked around again. Just then, she heard a familiar moan, only it sounded younger. "Tw-,Tw-, Twilight?" said Spike. Twilight turned, and the two of them stared at each other with wide eyes. "Who are y-,y-,you?" said Spike, shivering in fear. Twilight rolled her eyes. "I'm Twilight Sparkle, you fucking dumbass," she said. Her eyes narrowed at the dragon. "Now tell me, where am I and what did you do with my dragon, you little bitch?!" Spike only stepped back and ran out. Twilight growled and chased him down the halls, inspecting the perfection of the palace. Suddenly, she was stopped and frozen inside a magenta crystal like cube. "Spike, you are right, this looks nothing like Twilight," said a female voice. Twilight could see that the owner of the voice was a unicorn mare. She had a pale pink coat and purplish eyes. Her mane was a bright purple with aqua blue streaks, and it was curled at the bottom. Meanwhile, her cutie mark was two aqua swirls with a magenta four pointed star in the middle. Starlight? thought Twilight. Didn't we kill her after her crimes? Starlight inspected her closely, and then her horn began to glow as she approached. "Who are you and what did you do with Princess Twilight Sparkle?" asked Starlight. "Though, you look a lot like her." Twilight started to use her magic to crack open the crystal and would have escaped had it not been the fact that Starlight strengthened the crystal. "Spike go get the others!" yelled Starlight. The dragon did as he was told and quickly ran to get the others. Equestria: Morning (Starlight) Starlight made sure to strengthen the crystal every time she saw the tiniest crack. She wondered what had happened to her teacher and who this alicorn was that looked similar to her. Why were her wings and ears pierced? What was it with the scary look? Starlight was so lost in her thoughts, she failed to see a crack had once again formed in the crystal. It wasn't until she heard a blast and the strange alicorn running that she broke out of her thoughts. "Hey!" yelled Starlight. She ran after and sent a blast at the alicorn, but she dodged it. Instead of running, Twilight spun and blasted Starlight towards a wall. The unicorn yelped in pain as she got up and fired magic from her horn. She blasted the alicorn, hoping to knock her out. But her opponent teleported behind Starlight and blasted her towards a wall, cracking the crystal wall on impact. Starlight coughed out blood, and was about to get up, until the alicorn levitated her upwards and slammed her on the floor. Then Twilight levitated her back and Starlight was about to kick her but was slammed again on the ground. Having her hoof out in a position for a kick had caused her front right hoof to break and snap. She screamed in pain as Twilight blasted her towards a wall again. Starlight coughed out more blood and her entire body shivered, and she found she was too weak to get up. Oh sweet Celestia, Spike, please hurry! Starlight thought. Twilight neared her and held out a knife that she had created out of her magic as she pinned Starlight towards a wall. The knife made its slow approach towards her throat. Suddenly, Twilight was slammed towards a wall as Rainbow Dash had soared in having tackled the alicorn. "Hey! Leave my friend alone!" said Rainbow Dash, charging the alicorn again. Starlight fell on the ground, and realized that the knife had made a cut on her neck. It wasn't fatal, but it didn't stop it from bleeding a bit. Applejack had ran in and lassoed the alicorn and tied her up. Knowing that a simple earth pony was no match for an alicorn, Starlight gathered all her remaining strength and trapped the alicorn in her crystal cage. Then she collapsed on the ground from exhaustion. Starlight woke up a few hours later on her bed. Her neck was bandaged and so was her hoof, held up by a strap so she wouldn't any weight on it. She got up and looked at the mirror, realizing how messy her mane was. She levitated a comb and realized just how weak her magic had gotten from how much she had to force it. After her mane and tail were tidy, she limped as she went, downstairs, back towards the ponies and dragons who were watching over the still trapped alicorn. How could the spell have lasted that long without me strengthening it? thought Starlight puzzled. "Ya okay, Starlight?" Applejack asked. "Yeah, you took some pretty bad hits, darling," said Rarity. "I'm fine really," said Starlight. "Err... how long was I out for?" "Eight hours," said Rainbow Dash. "And your spell here is pretty strong to have lasted that long. You took up quite the fight, didn't you?" Eight hours? thought Starlight. That's impossible. Unless her magic was strengthening the spell without her knowing it. Was that why her magic was so weak? Why it was hard for her to levitate a single brush? "Anyways, we should let her go, or at least a bit so she can talk," said Starlight. After the approving nods, the unicorn began to melt way some of the crystal so that only the alicorn's eyes and muzzle were free. "Finally, you let me talk, you little bitch," said Twilight with a snarl. "Listen," said Starlight. "All we want to know is where Twilight Sparkle is." "Either tell us, or we'll pound you to dust," snarled Rainbow Dash. "I am Twilight Sparkle, you dumbass!" yelled the alicorn. "Why can’t you idiots see that?" "Because you look nothing like her," said Starlight. "Whoever you are, you're not Twilight. Our Twilight." The alicorn started growling and found that her horn had been freed. Starlight, noticing this, quickly sealed her back in. "This is crazy!" said Spike. "We have to tell Princess Celestia." The ponies nodded in agreement, and Spike wrote down the emergency and sent it to the Princess in a ball of green flames. Starlight collapsed on the floor again as Applejack quickly picked her up, and kept her from falling again. "Goodness," said Fluttershy. "Are you alright?" "Not....really," said Starlight weakly. "See....,I'm using all my....str-,strength just to m-, maintain this.....spell. My magic is....renewing the spell.....every time it begins to.....weaken, meaning I'm left with.....little strength and magic......to use for my own." "Aw, shucks Starlight," said Applejack. "You should've told us before and we all could've helped." "Yes, darling, we appreciate all that you're doing," said Rarity. "But you must understand that you need your rest too." Starlight was about to protest but gave in to her friends' requests. Rainbow Dash carried the weakened unicorn to her room and put her on her bed, and Starlight slowly found herself drifted off to sleep.
