//------------------------------// // The Discovery // Story: The Brutal Battle // by blessxuuu //------------------------------// Princess Luna trotted along the hallways of Canterlot Castle, making sure her pose was regal and she didn't look too silly. She'd study her elegant surroundings, looking at the beautiful red carpeting and the big banners of her and her sister all over the walls. Suddenly, the dark-blue pony wondered where her sister, the princess of the sun, Celestia, was located at that moment. "Where could she be?" Luna spoke out loud to nobody in particular. Usually, Celestia was on her throne, answering Twilight's consistent and ridiculous letters- "Dear Princess Celestia, today I ate a pie from Applejack and learned not to eat pies from Applejack"- or tending to official royal business. Sadly, she wasn't there. It was a shame that the princess wasn't there on the proud throne, surrounded by precious minerals and many other jewels. The place where the princess sat was covered in a lovely red velvet, which felt quite nice on the tush. Using her magic, Luna surrounded herself in a magnificent blue and teleported to Princess Celestia's room. Luna looked around the room, which was covered in pictures and patterns of the sun- the thing she had thought of as an enemy over a thousand years ago. She thought back to her and Celestia's fight, her banishment to the big, lonely moon, her return to Equestria... Luna stopped herself before she reached the verge of tears. She had thought about this memory before, and it only brought her shame and sorrow. How could she have been so cruel before? "Sister?" She called out, discarding the memory for now. "Wherever shall you be?" She glanced around the room, trying to see any clues to where her sister had head off. Princess Luna then ran out to the nearest guards, who were luckily stationed right outside her sister's bedroom. "Do you know where my sister is?" The alicorn asked. The group of white pegasus in dashing golden armor guards shook their heads simultaneously, save for one. "I saw her headed that way." The aforementioned guard spoke up and motioned their head in the direction that the princess had gone to. The Princess bowed her head in thanks and exited the castle. The dark-blue alicorn with a starry mane flew off into the distance, where she thought her sister should be. After a few minutes of searching below, she came across a small cave. "Sister?" she yelled, her voice echoing throughout the hollow cave. "MINE!" was screamed back at her. "W-What? Who is that?" responded Luna. "This cake is MINE, Luna! I won't share with you!" Princess Luna used her magical horn as a flashlight and looked ahead, into the darkness. She was surprised to find what the light illuminated. There was her sister, huddled in the darkness, with something brown smudged all over her muzzle. The white alicorn hissed at Luna, hugging something... What was she hugging? Was that a cake? It couldn't be. She was on a diet. Celestia had said that she was gaining a lot of pounds and needed to lose weight. As soon as Luna saw the entire cake, her eyes dilated in shock and she charged towards it, seizing it with her magical horn's levitation spell and throwing it into the distance. "LUNA! STOP, OR I'LL BANISH YOU TO THE MOON! AGAIN!" screamed Celestia at her sister, getting up. The white alicorn was clearly angry. "Sister, this is for your own good! We can't let you get so fat again! You've only just lost a few pounds! You were doing so well!" "ALICORNS DON'T NEED DIETS! WE'LL BE IMMORTAL ANYWAY!" "Sister, don't be so ridiculous! You have many, many public appearances every single day! If you don't look right, then your image will be ruined forever!" "I WON'T HESITATE TO SEND YOU RIGHT NOW, LUNA! THEY HAVE A COUCH WAITING FOR YOU UP THERE!" "No! You don't have the Elements of Harmony, so you can't even send me anyway! It's time for you to head home!" "Shut up, Luna! I will get them from the Tree of Harmony and I will do it right away!" Luna sighed loudly, now annoyed. All she wanted to do was have a nice, relaxing day for once with her sister. But that never happened, and will probably never happen. Now that she'd seen Celestia's true form, she'd have to request some help for her from a psychiatrist. Again. "Go get it back, already, Luna!" barked Celestia. "I need to finish it!" Her words suddenly took on a pleading, sad tone that made Luna almost feel sorry for the princess. But no, she couldn't. Celestia had gone mad without her cake, and was even worse with it, she thought. She had to end this. She leaped onto Celestia, intending to knock her out and take her to the castle without a hassle, knowing "Just come on, sister, it shouldn't be this hard..." "No, I refuse!" screamed Celestia, fighting back with powerful magic, sending Luna against the wall. "Don't start a war over CAKE, sister!" "No!" Suddenly, they heard what sounded like a buzzing in the distance. "Oh, no, it can't be bees... I've had enough of them! When I was a foal, I had so many bites..." muttered Luna. But it wasn't bees. Instead, it was... Queen Chrysalis. The Queen of the Changelings had a bad history with the Princesses- she had tried to pose as Princess Cadence at her wedding and attempted to overthrow Celestia. Not only that, but she reeked of death. Seriously, though, she smelled really bad. The Queen looked unhappy as she flew towards them, her insect-like wings creating a droning noise as she flew. She landed on the cave and entered it, heading towards the duo, of whom were frozen in shock. The alicorn princess noticed that the changeling queen was very wet, her dull coat somewhat shiny in the light as she approached. Her straight hair had water dripping down, creating a small puddle wherever she went. "Why... why are you here?" Luna managed to say, focusing on the changeling's cat-like eyes. "I'm here to make you apologize for EATING me and then CHUCKING me into the lake." Chrysalis demanded, angry. "What do you mean?" The Princess of the Night responded. "I have more holes now thanks to your SISTER. I had transformed into cake and planted myself into your sister's room, only to be quickly taken here and CHEWED UP like FOOD!" She displayed her unsightly holes, which were not a neat circle like the others but rather an unorganized mess of bite marks grouped together. "Well, you can take it as karma for spying," huffed the Princess of the Night, looking back at her rabid sister. "What did you do to her?" She turned back to the changeling. "Changeling meat makes you love the first thing you see- which just so happens to be the cake." "Is there a way to cure this?" "She has to not look at what she loves for an hour- quite similar to a love potion." And so, that's what they did. Celestia lived happily ever after and never ate cake until her diet was finished. But not before Queen Chrysalis was sent to Tartarus.
