//------------------------------// // The Storm Kingdom // Story: The Book Of Friendship // by XombieSlayr //------------------------------// (Starlight and Trixie sit together on the couch as they prepare their quills for yet another entry. Starlight scribbles the title at the top. A sudden crash of thunder and lightning from the ongoing storm outside makes them both jump.) Starlight's Journal: The Storm Kingdom Neither me, nor Trixie were around when The Storm King's Armada invaded Canterlot. So we know next to nothing about who or what The Storm King even was, but he was apparently unlike anything anypony had ever seen before, and extremely intimidating and threatening....or if what Twilight says is true, he was a giant man-child with way too much power and numbers then he deserved or knew what to do with. Either way, he was defeated and his invasion stopped. But still, nopony knows the answer as to where he came from. And just what was he anyway? Well, we think we may have found our answer. At least to the first one. (Starlight opens The Book Of Friendship to a mysterious chapter with strange runic drawings and written in a language she has only partially deciphered. The chapter weaves a story of a far away kingdom of powerful storm beasts, ruled by a cruel and unforgiving king.) The Storm Kingdom was a proud yet fiercely militarized nation, with immensely advanced technology and weaponry, that apparently held great disdain for The Alicorn Kingdom and it's prosperity. They were ruled by The Storm King's ancestor, a cruel Storm Beast called, Storm Lord HreggmĂmir, who ruled with an iron claw, and sought to use his advanced military technology and terrifying presence to take over Concordia. One day, he made a move against the empire, sending a fleet of his mechanical flying ships across the seas to the borders of the empire. But they were quickly taken down by Eclipsa's own forces, guarding the shores of the empire. Afterwards, it wasn't long till the empire had begun facing the brink of war, with The Storm Lord sending more and more of his army to tear apart cities and towns under the empire. Finally, Omnipotence, Eclipsa and The rest of the Elements gathered at the palace with the other 20 leaders of the kingdoms that made up the Alicorn Empire to discuss what to do about The Storm Kingdom and the threat they posed. Eclipsa, naturally, suggested that she and her armies basically just nuke the Storm Kingdom and be done with it. Others suggested they try and come to an agreement with The Storm Lord, and hopefully come to peace between the kingdoms. But when asked for somepony to go and talk to him on behalf of the empire, nopony stepped forward. Except two. Oceana, Queen of Seaquestria and Silicy, Queen of The Snow Empire, who happened to be the neighbor of the Storm Kingdom, stepped forth to go and speak to the Storm Lord on behalf of the empire. Unfortunately, both Oceana and Silicy were captured and imprisoned as soon as they set hoof in The Storm Kingdom, with The Storm Lord openly declaring that no peace will be happening between the two empires, ans that he wouldn't stop till the Alicorn empire was in ruins. It was then that war was officially declared. Eclipsa was let off the leash, and she and her vast dark armies gleefully destroyed thousands of invading Storm forces, while Omnipotence worked to save her friends. She was joined by Sacanas, Princess of the Snow Empire and the daughter of Silicy, who had traveled from her home kingdom to help rescue her mother from the Storm Lord, and end his reign of terror. Upon Sacanas and Omnipotence's arrival in the Storm Kingdom, they were taken to The Storm Lord, who offered to let Oceana and Silicy go, in exchange for Omnipotence surrendering herself to him. Queen Omnipotence would've gladly surrendered herself to save her friends, if Sacanas had not stepped forth. Instead of fighting the Storm Lord, she spoke to the citizens of The Storm Kingdom, who were tired of being mistreated and forced to work under the claw of the tyrannical Storm Lord. She encouraged them to rise up against him, to take back their kingdom and make it what it deserved to be. To be free. Sacanas words reached thousands of Storm citizens and they quickly joined her side, as they all teamed up to overthrow the Storm Lord. However, he was too powerful and effortlessly blasted away crowds of mobbing citizens, laughing gleefully. That was until, Sacanas managed to knock The Storm Ruler's Crown from his head. Without the crown, The Storm Lord lost his power over the storms and was very quickly defeated. Upon, his defeat, The Storm Lord was sentenced to imprisonment in ice beneath the kingdom, while the citizens all cheered for Sacanas to lead them, as it was her that inspired them to finally overthrow their evil ruler. Upon being reunited with her mother, she was surprised to hear that her mother wanted her to stay and lead The Storm Kingdom. To show them a better way. Sacanas knew her mother was right, and taking the Storm Crown for herself, she became the new ruler of the storm kingdom, known as The Storm Queen. Several years later, Sacanas would fall in love with her Royal Protector, marry and have a family of Storm Beast Alicorn hybrid children known as Stormicorns. Her family would then become the ruling dynasty of The Storm Kingdom, making it greater and more advanced then ever, culminating in numerous magical and scientific achievements, most notably was The Raid Suit, an obsidian black armor that was completely magic proof. It would be several thousand years before The Storm Lord's descendant, a young storm Beast called Bort, would return to the kingdom and attempt to overthrow The Lightning Empress, the blood descendant of Sacanas, and the powerful yet beloved and fair ruler of the Storm Kingdom, as well as the wielder of The Staff Of Sacanas. He challenges her to a duel to determine who shall rule The Storm Kingdom, and she accepts. Bort is no match for the incredible powers of Storm and Alicorn magic wielded by The Lightning Empress, nor her skill with her staff, and is defeated. But as she turns away, Bort pulls out a mysterious sinister green orb and flings it at her. The empress dodges out of the way, but it swings back and hits her in the leg, turning her to stone as the Storm Crown falls off her head. Terrified citizens watch in fear as Bort picks up the crown and The Staff Of Sacanas, and gleefully declares himself...The Storm King. (Starlight and Trixie look at each other in shock. They both wonder the same thing, before Trixie blurts it out. "How does this book know about The Storm King? He's not thousands of years old, is he?" she asks. Starlight ponders for a second. "More so...." she turns to Trixie. "Does this mean that The Lightning Empress is still turned to stone!?" Both of them are unsure as to why, but an icy chill runs down their spines.) (Starlight ends the entry there, as another crash of thunder is heard from outside)
