//------------------------------// // Chapter 1 // Story: Ending of New Beginnings // by TopHat Demon //------------------------------// Shut the door. Run. And Hide. That is all Pixel thought and done too survive. Running away from a monster is just like a mixer of hide-and-seek and tag, just that your life is on the line. Pixel ran down the dark corridor and threw open a door leading into another hallway, he was panting like he’s running a marathon. His breath quickened and his hooves pounded harder against the tiled floor. Pixel skid to a Stop next to an intersection and leaned against the wall, he looked at his watch that was strapped to his wrist. The watch was given to him from his Father as a little colt, the watch was cracked a little but somehow it still worked. 12:46 in the morning the watch read. *Click* Pixel snapped his head up to be engulfed in a white flash. Pixel awoke cold sweat dripping off his coat. Nightmares, for the fourth time in a week this has happened. Pixel didn’t know why he was scared of just a white flashing light, or if he even is afraid of flashing lights in general. He sat up slowly in his bed and craned his neck to look at his alarm clock, 6:00am. Pixel groaned and got out of his bed. The floorboards creaking underneath his weight. As he made his way downstairs he found his mom sitting at the kitchen counter, sipping a cup of coffee. Pixel's mom, a unicorn, has always woken up early, very early since her father has died. Her father would do the same thing, wake up early in the morning and study the Bible. In case your're wondering, her name is Lightshift. “Oh... Pixel you're up.” His mom spoke in a whisper, but just enough so Pixel can hear. Pixel moved closer to his mother and sat on a stool next to her. The coffee smelled of peppermint when he got close but he was used to that smell. It was normal to wake up to find his mom sipping peppermint coffee, Pixel normally got a conversation going with Her before he left for school. “Let me quess, another nightmare?” “Ya... but this time it wasn’t even scary. But it still somehow woke me up. Luckily I didn’t wake up around midnight.” Pixel replied rubbing his eyes, yawning. Pixel's mom nodded and took another sip of her coffee. Silence for another minute before she asked Pixel to get his stuff ready for School. Pixel got up from the counter and went to grab his bag. “I’m off to school mom!” Pixel called as he stood next to the door, his stuff all gathered up and in his bag. Pixel's mom soon got to say bye, and Pixel walked off to School. The morning was cold, bitter cold to be honest. While he walked down the road to school he admired the town that he lived in, Ponyville. The scenery was pretty, and even though it’s early in the morning, ponies still were outside beginning their everyday chores. He waved to them as he past and they returned the gesture. Ponyville seemed to be the best place for Pixel, he is sensitive young stallion. Almost anything can upset him or make him mad. That’s why manehatten, where he used to live, was a bad place for Pixel. By the time Pixel reached the Highschool, the sun was up and most of the birds were chirpping. A group of ponies blocked Pixel from entering the Building. Pixel acknowledged the group to let him pass. “Or what!?” One of them taunted. A Pegasus with a light brown mane and orange coat came up from from behind Pixel and threw off his backpack. “Seriously... You know I’m taller than you.” Pixel commented, it was true, Pixel was taller than most of the ponies in the group. The Pegasus smerked and join the rest of the laughing group. Pixel took a heavy sigh and picked up his pack, he walked through the group into the School building. ‘Don’t lose your cool now... Pixel...’ he thought to himself entering his classroom. “Welcome class, let me just get attendance before we start on a new science project.” The teacher explained tapping his clipboard with his pen. Pixel sat in the corner of the room, he liked it there, it was also close to the windows. Pixel tapped his hooves on his desk and hummed a tune. Most of the classroom was chattering about how the spooktacular happing this Friday, which is tomorrow. “Psst-Hey Pixel!” Somepony called, Pixel turned to see an Earthpony with a Maroon colored mane and an orange coat. Pixel recognized the Pony as Petal Cord, the most popular Earth pony mare in the School. Pixel has always had trouble taking to girls, each time he does he will blush slightly and sputter with his words. “H-hey Petal Cord...” Pixel replied averting her gaze. “Are you going to the Spookatcular tomorrow? If you don’t That perfectly understandable.” It wasn’t understandable for Pixel to go to a Social without the proper costume, he can just wear a hat. Pixel fiddled with the question in his mind. “Sure I’ll go-or be there, I don’t know. I think it will be a surprise if I found out I was already there...” Petal Cord chuckled to Pixel's comment, Pixel tryed to chuckle as well but nothing came out. Pixel turned towards the paper and pencil that was laid on his desk with his magic, and began to write. Right as he began to write the pencil broke, Pixel sighed and got up from his desk to sharpen his pencil. Almost like it was meant to happen he bumped into a Pegasus, the mare almost went flying into the other row of desks. “Oh Goodness! I’m so sorry I didn’t mean to!-“ “What the BUCK was that for!?” The mare yelled giving an angry look at Pixel. Pixel tried to explain what happened but the mare stomped away. ‘ This chapters going well... ‘ Pixel though returning to his desk.
