It was a sunny day when Pinkie met Lily Field for the first time. "Hello!" said Pinkie as she sat down beside the little white filly with the red lily cutie mark, no mane, and no tail. "What's your name?" 

"Oh, hi, Pinkie," replies the little filly, "my name is Lily Field and I have cancer. I don't have that many days left to live."

"Oh," replies Pinkie. "Then would you like to do something fun today?" 

"Sure, I guess so," replies Lily Field as a smile appears on her face. "Where are we going?" 

"The carnival of course, silly," replies Pinkie as she picks up the little filly and plops her onto her back. A few minutes later, the two arrive at the carnival. Once there, they eat lunch and then begin to do all the rides and games. The first ride they go on is the Ulti-Pony. As they ride, Lily Field squeals in delight. Pinkie smiles over at her and begins to laugh herself. "I'm glad you're having a blast," sighs Pinkie. A few minutes later, they hop off the ride and do some of the carnival games. As she throws the ball into the nets, Lily can't help but smile. She's having a blast with Pinkie Pie. 

After sinking her three balls in the basketball game, Lily wins a stuffed teddy bear. Pinkie then comes over and congratulates her then hands her a big cup of soda and a stick of cotton candy and a funnel cake piled high with whipped cream and powdered sugar. While Lily eats, Pinkie gladly holds her stuffed teddy bear. A few minutes later, Lily finishes up her treats and she and Pinkie then hop right into the next coaster: The Tilt-a-Whirl Funnel ride. As they ride the funnel, Lily can't help but squeal. She's having the time of her life and it's all thanks to Pinkie Pie. 

A few minutes later, they exit the Tilt-a-Whirl Funnel and take a short break before going off and playing the Duck Pond carnival game. As she throws the fishing pole in to catch the duck, Lily lets out a giggle and Pinkie just smiles. Lily then reels in the duck. She then reads the prize that is written on the bottom of it. "One mega-sized purple princess plushie doll," reads Lily. The game runner then hands her the plush. Lily then takes it and embraces it in a great big hug. 

A few hours later, Lily gets worn out and Pinkie returns her home and tucks her into bed. Pinkie then sits the teddy bear and princess plushie beside Lily then kisses her on her forehead and whispers. "I had fun today with you. I hope you get a good night's rest. I hope I see you tomorrow and we can do this all over again." She then leaves the room and returns to Sugar Cube Corner where she begins to bake up a fresh batch of sweets for when the store opens up tomorrow morning.
