The being stood, a creature brought to peaceful land by magic that was sealed away by an unknown race that had fallen long before Celestia and Luna emerged from the cosmos. It tore through the town of Ponyville, tearing stones like a filly would tear a piece of paper. It opened its maw, rimmed with teeth sharper than the blades carried by the royal guard, and bit into the thatched roof of another building. The drunken mare inside didn't have time to even scream before she and her daughter were surrounded by a purple aura, and lifted towards the hulking abomination's mouth. They stared in horror at the monster's eyes, two violet orbs that showed neither mercy or anger. The titanic creature slowly titled its head back, and let go of the two, letting them plummet to its stomach, where the acids quickly melted them away, just like the last ponies to fall into its gaping maw.

Rainbow Dash sped onwards, toward the beast. It stood fourty feet tall, and was still growing. Its mane, mouth and hooves were red with the blood of its victims. These details only showed what the cyan pegasus knew: This was a suicide mission. She rather would of ran and hid, but she couldn't abandon her friends to this thing without even trying to defeat it. She flapped harder, using all of her skills to keep out of the grip of the magic it wielded. She kept it up for a while, but eventually the adrenaline wore off, leaving the pegasus hovering, trying to keep herself free from the creature. It gripped her with its magic, and as the pegasus was lifted, it saw the stars adorning its flank.
“Twilight...What happened to you..." she muttered before she closed her eyes, too tired to keep them open as she braced herself for the death she thought was certain...but never came.
The creature that Twilight Sparkle now was paused as she heard the question her captive prey asked. It remembered times that came before her ascension to godhood. She remembered herself spending time with this pony, along with four others. She looked into her memories of each one of the five, remembering their friendship. She wasn't going to end it today, she thought to herself. Her horn lit up as the pegasus' body disappeared, entering another dimension she could quickly access. She would give them the same gift fate had bestowed upon her. She would make them goddesses.

Applejack huddled in a corner, her body curled up in the fetal position. The small shelter reeked of urine and left little room for her to move, but she endured it as the alternative was far worse. Her brother left only an hour ago to help Granny Smith cash a check. They were probably both dead. She heard her sister and her friends whimper as they hid in the corner along with her. Their efforts were futile, however, as the beast tore through the ground that was over them, and looked upon their forms.
“Wh-what do you want from us?” Appleack cried, tears falling from her eyes as she locked eyes with the beast. She screamed as her body lit up with a familiar aura as she was lifted to the beast's eye level. “Pl-please! Let me go!” she begged, but it was no use. As she watched her body fade, she asked for one small favor. “Spare...the children...” she whimpered, and then the world went dark.
Twilight felt her friend head to the same dimension as Rainbow Dash had, and slowly started to turn around. She quickly looked down, however, when she felt something on her lower leg. Looking down all of the fourty-five feet she stood, she spotted a small yellow filly, pathetically kicking her with all of her might. She heard the filly demand that her sister be returned to her, while two other fillies tried to get her to run, screaming at her to get away from the beast. She remembered her friends request, and her horn briefly lit up as she sealed the trio into a different dimension than the other ponies. She would do anything for her friends.

In Sugarcube Corner two ponies were taking shelter. Pinkie Pie stood bravely, wearing a pot as a helmet and using the lid as a make-shift shield. She wildly swung around a broomstick, intent on defeating the new threat to Ponyville. In the corner Rarity cowered, a stark contrast to her friend's bravery. They had seen it take out their loyal friend Rainbow Dash, and feared for their lives. They looked up as they heard the upper floors collapse, watching as the ceiling above them slowly turned into dust. They cowered when it finally fell, revealing the abomination that they feared. Rarity moaned as she was lifted, not even bothering to plead with the beast as she, like Rainbow Dash and Applejack did before, disappeared. Pinkie was hoisted likewise.
“Let us go you big meanie!” she demanded as she vanished as well.
Meanwhile, in a void in between universes, Rainbow Dash regained consciousness. She slowly wandered around, curious to where she was. If this is the Great Pastures, she though, it isn't very great. She turned around when she heard moaning close by. Hurrying towards the sound, she tripped over the recently awakened form of Applejack. The two ponies slowly got up, and upon noticing the other, put their hooves around each other, glad to find a familiar face. After a while, the two let go of each other and once more stood on all four hooves.
“So, you have any idea what's going on sugercube, cause I don't.” Applejack asked her cyan friend.
“I have no idea what happened to Twilight, I was asleep until all-” Rainbow began, only to be interrupted by Applejack.
“Now hold on.” the orange earth pony said. “You're saying that the thing terrorizing Ponyville is Twilight?”
“Yes! I saw it with my own eyes! The coat, the aura, the eyes, even the cutie mark! It's Twilight!” Rainbow Dash yelled. Just then, two thuds sounded, one after the other, as Rarity and Pinkie Pie fell from the sky of this void.

Fluttershy cried. She had seen the thing come towards her cottage and had fled into the forest in hopes of evading the beast. Now she was regretting the decision, as she laid trapped inside a small crevice, her wings broken and her hooves stuck in a small hole. She felt the ground vibrate as the abomination got closer. Alone and facing certain death, the yellow pegasus cried in fear, scared for her life. She watched in horror as the creature appeared, and shrieked as she was lifted into the air. She tried to get away from the beast, but her efforts were in vain, and she soon fainted, exhausted and frightened.
Twilight couldn't help but smile as the last of her friends was lifted into her grip. She slowly headed back to the smoldering remains of Ponyville. It would be only the first town to fall victim to her, but it would be the only one she destroyed alone. As she arrived in the middle of town, she removed each and every one of her friends and laid them out on the ground. Her horn glowed once more as she used the same spell she had learned from the book she found last week.
Rainbow Dash was the first one to transform. She moaned in a combination of agony and bliss as her body was warped. Her wings shifted from the regular pegasus wings, changing their appearance to a a design that resembles a flat bundle of blades, each sharpened to a fine point. She slowly rose in height, moaning in delight as the feeling of power flowed through her. She eventually stopped growing, reaching the same height as Twilight, a full one hundred feet, and opened her eyes. Her mane sparked with electricity, a wild storm barely contained. When Rainbow opened her mouth to exhale, clouds spilled out, drenching the surrounding area with rain.
Next came Applejack. The same moan came from her mouth as she felt her muscles getting even stronger. She screamed in pleasure as her body rocketed to the same hight as the other two. Her fur smelled of flora, with sprigs of thyme and mint adorning her mane. She slowly stamped her hoof, and where in landed, a great forest rose from the ashes of of the town.
Rarity was the third to ascend. She howled as the magic started to change her body, her coat taking on a gem-like sheen. The howling increased as she rose to the same stature as the two before her. She looked around, and smiled. She put her hoof upon the ground, and stones came jutting out of the ground, She laughed as she levitated each one, looking at them and admiring her new appearance.
Pinkie Pie went next. She giggled in delight as she became aware of what existed across all of reality itself. Her jubilations turned to screams as she increased in size, adding a fifth to the group of gigantic ponies. She laughed in joy as she opened a portal, brining a telephone booth and whoever occupied it in front of her, proceeding to swallow all of it whole.
Fluttershy was the last to change. She was silent as the magic ran through her body, her mind beginning to start translating the call of all animals, from the lowest of insects to the greatest of beast. She kept quiet as her height increased, finally stopping at a hundred feet. Her mane was home to a number of winged beast, and as she lowered her hoof, all sorts of creatures emerged. She smiled at the assortment of wild beast around her hoof.
Twilight Sparkle looked at all her friends. It took a full hour, but now she would forever be with her friends, and that's all that matters. When they grew up, she would ascend the three fillies she had also sealed away. She looked out towards Canterlot, and started walking off, her friends following her. She was sure that the princesses would be perfect for keeping watch over the fillies as they grew up. She gazed at the sky, and smiled. This was the start of a beautiful era.
