Spike opens the door to the throne room, where he sees Twilight was sitting down in her throne, wondering what she should do for the day. Her cheek was resting on her right hoof and she was tapping her tummy with her left one. Her irises were aiming at the ceiling while she tried to think. She was silent for a very long time, until Spike broke the silence immediately.
"Twilight.", the drake said, getting the alicorn's attention.
"Oh, Spike, hello.", Twilight said, facing her friend. "What's up?"
"I was just coming to check on you.", Spike said. "Are you doing ok?"
"Oh, yeah.", Twilight said. "I'm doing fine. Thanks for asking. I've been trying to think of an idea of what I should do today. I'm just so bored right now."
"Do you think Fluttershy and Rarity might be at the spa?", Spike asked. "You should totally go see them, if they're there."
"What if they're not.", Twilight said. "Am I better off myself while I'm at the spa?"
"No, just invite them to go to the spa with you.", Spike said. "Rarity always plans to go to the spa with Fluttershy, I think it's your turn to ask them if they want to go with you."
"Thanks for the tip, Spike.", Twilight said, hopping off her seat. "I think I should invite Starlight as well, if she's available. I mean, she's always hanging out with Trixie on these nice days. So what?" She galloped towards the door.
Something popped up in Spike's head, it was a memory that he must mention to Twilight. "Oh, can I speak to you about something, Twi?", Spike asked.
Twilight turned back around to face the dragon again. "What's up, Spike?", she asked.
"You remember when we all got the pony items of the legendary heroes?", Spike asked.
"Yes, I do.", Twilight said. "I'm just glad that Starswirl is back, so I tell him how much I'm in common with him."
"That's besides the point, Twilight.", Spike said. "When Rainbow Dash and I were at the dragon area, trying to get Flash Magnus's shield. Garble challenged me to a race, surfing down a lava fall. Instead of surfing down, I hit the rocks and reached the finish line. Garble was about to crush me with a rock, but Rainbow Dash swooped down, grabbed the rock, threw it on Garble's tail, and saved my life."
Twilight was filled with relief. "Whew, I'm glad you're alright, Spike.", she said. "That was very thoughtful of her to save you."
"After that, I hugged her, and I've been thinking to myself that Rainbow Dash is a better special somepony than Rarity is, since Rarity doesn't have interest in me.", Spike said.
"Well, why don't you go see her and tell her that?", Twilight suggested. "Don't want to hide your love for her for too long, do you?"
"Huh.", Spike said. "Yeah, I guess I better go do that." He ran out the door as fast his little legs can carry him to the rainbow Pegasus.

Spike searched around Ponyville to look for Rainbow Dash. He looked in Sugarcube Corner, he looked in Sweet Apple Acres, he looked in Rarity's Boutique, he looked in Fluttershy's cottage, and he looked in other stores. But, the rainbow Pegasus was no where to be found. He also looked out in the field, he looked up in a tree and he finally saw her. Rainbow Dash was taking a nap on a tree branch as usual, she's in the same position that she normally uses. Rainbow could say it's more like her cliché thing. "Hey, Rainbow Dash.", he called.
Dash woke up. "Yeah?", she asked. She lost her balance on the branch, fell off and landed on her tummy in the grass. She made a groan as she tried to get back up on her hooves. "Ow."
"Oh my gosh.", Spike said, running to her. "Are you ok? You're not hurt, are you?"
She tumbled on her flanks, revealing her belly covered in grass. "I'm ok, Spike.", she said. "No need to worry no more."
Spike glanced at Dash's belly and brushed the grass off.
"Thanks for that, kid.", Rainbow Dash said. "Grass really makes my belly itch. What are you doing here?"
"I just want to talk to you.", Spike said, getting down on his knees. "I've been thinking of the time when you saved my life from Garble throwing that rock at me."
"Well, I had to save you, remember what I said a long time ago, I'm never letting my friends down.", Rainbow Dash said. "Hopefully, Garble learns to be a good friend one day."
"Rainbow, he's a dragon, he'll never be good.", Spike said. "Remember a long time ago, when he tried to make me-" His sentence was cut off by Rainbow.
"I was just joking, kid.", Rainbow Dash said. "Ember's is the second dragon that's going to be nice to other ponies. So, why are you bringing that back up again? Are you trying to recite that moment?"
"I was thinking that you might be a better special somepony than Rarity.", Spike said. "Since Rarity is interested in handsome stallions other than me."
Rainbow Dash was full of shock, she had never heard such thing from Spike before, bringing up the fact that he really likes her. "Are you kidding me?", she asked. "I would never date a small dragon like you."
"Oh come on, Rainbow Dash.", Spike said. "I'm just trying to be nice, I just appreciated you saving me. Alright?"
"Spike, I get it.", Rainbow Dash said. "But, in order for me to love you back, you have to save me in any kind of situation. Got it? No second chances if you fail the first time."
Spike nodded sadly. "Got it, Rainbow.", he said. "I guess I'll be on my way. See you later, Rainbow." He turned away and made his way to return to the castle.

Twilight was back in her throne after a relaxing spa session. Her eyes were closed, her front hooves were behind her head, and her back hooves were resting on the map table, looking shiny. They've been polished. She perked up an ear as she heard the door open. She looked over and saw Spike's sad face. "Spike, what's the matter?", she asked. "Didn't you talked to Rainbow Dash? What did she say to you when you told her you liked her?"
"Yes, but she told me in order for her to love me, I have to save her in any kind of situation.", Spike said. "Before she told me that, she said that she would never date a dragon like me."
"What?", Twilight said, surprised. "There's not going to be any danger for quite a while, why have to wait that long?"
"I don't know.", Spike said. "I just hope there will a situation right now, just like that bug bear situation that happened long ago on Cranky and Matilda's wedding."
"Don't worry, Spike.", Twilight said, putting a hoof on Spike's shoulder. "I'm sure a situation will happen any time. You're just going to have to wait."
Then, all of a sudden, there was screaming outside the castle. The two made way to the entrance door where they saw an angry black bear terrorizing Ponyville. They ran through the village to take a closer look at the creature. Ponies were running around in terror while the bear was on its rampage. Applejack, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Starlight Glimmer, and Fluttershy tried to do something to stop the monster, but they were frightened and terrified. "Okay, maybe no time for waiting anymore.", Twilight said.
"Where's Rainbow Dash?", Spike asked, looking around Ponyville to find the rainbow pony.
"I don't know, I don't see her.", Twilight said, squinting her eyes while she had a hoof over them.
They heard a brave voice. "Hey!" It was Rainbow Dash, getting prepared to fight the bear. "You leave this village alone! You hear me?!", she bellowed. She darted at him to punch in the face, but the bear swatted at her, causing her to lose herself and fell to the ground. She tried to get up, but there was a scratch on her side, and it didn't feel good. Her bravery has faded, she cowered in fear as the bear stepped towards her. The bear was getting ready to kill poor Dash.
"NO!", Spike screamed. He ran to the bear and blocked the bear's way. The bear stopped to look at him. "You leave her alone!" But, that made the bear angrier, he snatched him by the torso and shook him the hardest he could. Spike felt like he was about to throw up as he was being shaken by the bear. The bear then threw him at a house. The hit of the house from Spike gave the chimney a crack.
Spike let out a huge ball of fire when he hit the wall. The bear turned around as he didn't pay attention to the incoming flame. The flame hit his back and he screamed in terror, it was the biggest and loudest roar he had ever roared. The pegasi grabbed buckets of water from the clouds and dumped it on the bear. The bear fell to his stomach, crying in pain. Fluttershy flew over to him. "Oh, you poor bear!", she cried. "That flame must have hurt you so bad. I can't let you suffer like this. I need somepony to take this bear to the vet."
"We got this, miss.", said Spitfire, along with her pals, Fleetfoot and Soarin. "Come on, soldiers, lets get this bear to the vet." They got the bear back on his feet and walked him to the vet. Ponyville was saved. The ponies cheered. It was the happiest moment ever.
"Yay! The bear's gone!", Pinkie cheered, bouncing on her hooves.
"Ha ha. That's what I'm talking about, no bear terrorizes Ponyville.", Applejack said in a tough tone.
"Alright, the bear left Ponyville.", Spike cheered, feeling dizzy. "Wait to go, me." He wasn't paying attention to the crack of the chimney. The chimney broke off the roof of the house and crushed Spike.
The ponies gasped, Rainbow Dash made the biggest gasp most of all. "SPIKE!", she yelled. She and the others ran to the ripped off chimney. Rarity and Twilight lifted the chimney off of Spike with their magic. Thank goodness he's still breathing.
Rainbow Dash ran over to Spike's unconscious body and tried to wake him up. "Spike, please wake up!", she pleaded. Nothing happened, Spike didn't move, he was too unconscious. Rainbow Dash didn't know if he's dead or alive. "Don't you give up on me! Wake up, Spike!" She looked around for a doctor and cried for help. "Hey! Somepony call Nurse Redheart!"

Rainbow Dash and her friends went to the hospital to see if Spike was ok. She fidgeted with her hooves with panic. "Oh dear Celestia!", she moaned, fearfully. "This is all my fault! I should've done something to save poor Spike! I should've picked him up from the castle, avoided that bear and let the wonderbolts do that work!"
"Rainbow Dash, don't blame yourself when you saw Spike get crushed by that chimney.", Twilight said, comforting her friend by stroking her back. "You didn't do anything wrong, you were trying to stop that bear from terrorizing Ponyville, and you didn't expect that to happen at all."
"Besides, the sweet little boy saved your life, just like how he saved mine from the Timberwolves.", Applejack stated. "He had no fear in him."
"I hope the damage on Spike isn't too severe.", Rarity hoped. "I'd hate to lose him."
"I hope so too, Rarity.", Fluttershy said. "Spike's our only sweet dragon we have left."
"You know, Rainbow, you were hurt too and you couldn't walk or fly and you survived for a couple days in the hospital, and you were ok when you left the hospital.", Twilight said.
"I know.", Rainbow Dash said. "I just hope Nurse Redheart knows what she's doing to him."
"Dashie, Nurse Redheart is a very careful mare, she knows best, she does a great job at taking care of ponies.", Pinkie said.
"Yeah.", Twilight said. "When Nurse Redheart comes out, she let us know how Spike's doing and you can go see him."
"I understand.", Rainbow Dash sighed calmly. "Thanks for letting me know that, Twi." She touched her side, she didn't feel pain anymore. "And thanks for using that spell to get rid of that scratch."
"You're very welcome, Dash.", Twilight said, nodding.
Nurse Redheart left the room that Spike was resting in. Rainbow Dash and Twilight rushed over to her. "How is he?", the purple alicorn said. "Is he still alive?"
"Don't worry about him.", the nurse said. "He's fine, he just got knocked out. He has bruised bones above his elbows and his ankles are broken. But, not to worry, they're all bandaged up."
Twilight and Rainbow Dash sighed with relieved. "Can I see him?", the rainbow Pegasus pony asked. "I want to talk to him."
"Sure, take your time.", Nurse Redheart said, holding the door open for Rainbow Dash. She turned around seeing her friends about to come inside as well.
"Stay out here, girls.", Rainbow Dash said. "I need to talk with him alone." She entered the room and closed the door behind her.
"Dashie!", Spike yipped. He felt pain in his left arm and groaned. He held his arm in his claw, gently. "I guess I've been asleep since I got in this room, I forgot this arm is hurting."
Rainbow Dash looked at his broken arms, but she didn't see his bandaged feet, because they were under the covers. She then looked down at the floor with guilt and sighed.
Spike took a look at Rainbow Dash's guilty look with concern. "Rainbow, what's wrong?", he asked.
"I'm so sorry, Spike.", Rainbow Dash said with tears forming in her eyes. "This is all my fault, I should've done something to save you. You were crushed by that chimney."
"Rainbow, it's ok.", Spike said. "I'm still alive, am I?"
"Of course you are.", Rainbow Dash said, wiping a tear from her eye.
"And I saved your life from that bear.", Spike said. "So, do you love me now?"
"Yes!", Rainbow quickly answered. When she saw Spike let out that huff of fire on that bear, she felt so proud of him.
"Wow.", Spike said, surprised. "I've never heard you answer that quickly before. Do you really want me now after what I said to shock you?"
Rainbow Dash nodded.
"Why?", Spike asked. "Why so bad?"
"Because, I saw you get injured.", Rainbow Dash said. "I was so worried, I thought you would be dead if I didn't save you. And when you saved me, I felt so appreciated to have a dragon like you save me and I was proud of you for doing that. Ever since I met you and Twilight, I thought you were an awesome friend, you laughed with me when I messed up Twilight's mane."
Spike chuckled. "Yeah, that was pretty funny.", he said. "That's why you have friends that can laugh with you. And you remember that one time when you warned Twilight that something bad was going to happen when she saw future Twilight?"
Rainbow Dash chuckled. "Yeah, that was hilarious.", she said. She flew to his bed and sat down by him, she made sure that she wasn't close to his broken body parts. "All those times we laughed together will never be forgotten, I appreciated a great friend like you to laugh with. Even though, that one night long ago, when you pretended to be a cookie addicted zombie, which was a messed up joke by the way."
"Yeah, that joke was messed up, but it was a lot of fun.", Spike said. He switched the subject. "Just so you know, the doctor healed my torso using a drip of a healing potion."
Rainbow Dash smiled warmly. She brought Spike's face to hers and kissed him on the lips. Spike's eyes opened wide as that happened. Then, her lips and Spike's lips got separated. "You kissed me.", Spike said with his face bright red.
Rainbow nodded. "Because, I love you.", she said, as their lips had met each other once more. Then they separate again. Spike smiled cutely. He threw his fingers back, signaling her to come back closer. It's surprising how he didn't feel pain in his arms while throwing them back, they must've healed all the way. Rainbow Dash leaned forward, getting close to Spike's face. Spike took hold of Rainbow's head and gently kissed her cheek, making her smile and blush. Then, he started licking her left cheek, making her laugh.
Rainbow broke free. "Hey, don't lick my cheek, that tickles.", she laughed.
"Sorry, your cheek tasted sweet.", Spike said, touching her cheek with his claw. "Just like blueberry flavored cotton candy." He rubbed the back of his neck, embarrassingly. "I guessed you're not used to being tickled, huh?"
Rainbow chuckled. "Oh, I'll show what's like to be tickled.", she snickered, pulling down the covers, showing Spike's exposed plump green scaly belly. She reaches a hoof over to Spike and lays it on Spike's belly.
Spike's cheeks and bridge of his nose became bright red. "Ok then.", he stammered. "You touch a creature's tummy-" His sentence was paused when Rainbow tickled his belly, making him laugh. "and then you start tickling." He abruptly sat up. "How would you like it if I tickle you." He began to wiggle his fingers on Dash's belly, making her laugh.
"No, Spike, not there hahahahaha.", Rainbow Dash laughed. "Stop it, Spike. Stop tickling my belly. hahahaha."
"What are the magic words?", Spike asked, still tickling her loving Pegasus.
"Please stop tickling me.", Rainbow Dash begged, with her laughing increasing.
"Alright.", Spike said, removing his fingers from the blue belly of Rainbow Dash.
The Pegasus yawned laid down next to Spike, being careful of not making Spike's broken body parts even worse. "I need my nap time, after you woke me up and making me fall off the tree and the bear's rampage in Ponyville.", she said.
Spike made a loving smile. "And I'll be here next you.", he said. "I already had my nap time after me being taken here."
Rainbow Dash slowly closed her eyes. "I love you, Spike.", she said softly, before drifting off into her slumber.
"I love you too.", Spike said. His sleeping new marefriend snored as he watched all the while. He laid a claw on Rainbow's belly, and he stroked it. It was to show Rainbow Dash that Spike is truly her hero.
