To Love a Grump

by Leviathan Jaeger

A gift to warm her heart

Sunset parked her motorcycle outside of the Dazzling's house, taking off her helmet and straightening her hair. She walked up to the door and rang the doorbell. Soon Sonata came to the door, opening it with a smile.

"Hi Sunset!" she said as she waved crazily.

"Hey Sonata, how are you doing?" Sunset replied, giggling at the girls cute gesture.

"I'm doing great! Last night I went down to that taco restaurant and got a whole bunch of tacos!" Sonata stated to her.

"You didn't steal them, did you?" Sunset asked her.

"No," the blue girl replied, but Sunset lifted a eyebrow to her, "Maybe..."

"You know you can't do that anymore Sonata."

"I know, but we can't get them free anymore, and I just want to nibble on their goodness again," she said, throwing her hands in the air.

Sunset rolled her eyes and walked with her through the house. When the Dazzlings lost their magic, they confronted the Rainbooms about their magic, wanting to know just how they had it. They explained it was because of friendship, which made the Dazzlings want to try it. No one bothered to help them, except for Sunset. Now she had the task of helping them cope with human life, plus be good people. It wasn't the easiest thing in the world, but Sunset enjoyed their company.
"Hello Sunset, come by to see us again," Adagio said as she walked up behind them.

"I actually came to pick up Aria, we're supposed to go see a movie together," Sunset replied to her.

"A movie, and I can't go!?" Sonata asked.

"It's a horror movie Sonata, you wouldn't like it," Sunset stated to her.

"Oh, right."

"Besides, Sunset wants to be alone with Aria, isn't that right?" Adagio said with a smirk.

Sunset blushed as she nodded her head. As Sunset helped the Dazzlings with their lives, she realized that she had fallen in love with Aria. Somehow, someway, that grumpy girl was the one that touched her heart. Ever since then she tried to spend more time with her, seeing movies, going out to eat, just spending time at their house. But sadly Aria didn't feel the same, or know about how Sunset felt.

"Where is Aria?" Sunset asked.

"In her room probably, I'll go get her," Adagio stated, walking down the hall.

"I still can't believe you like Aria out of all of us," Sonata said to her.

"I find it hard to believe sometimes too," Sunset replied.

Soon Adagio returned, with Aria slowly walking behind.

"Hi Aria," Sunset said with a smile.

"Hey," she responded in her usual monotone greeting.

"Ready to go?"

"Yeah," she replied, walking towards the door.

Adagio elbowed Sunset in the side, "Don't have to much fun with her."

Sonata walked up to Sunset when Adagio finished, and whispered something in her ear. Sunset immediately started blushing, her whole face turning red as she walked away.

"What did you say to her?" Adagio asked, which Sonata repeated what it was in her ear. Adagio started laughing when she was finished. "She'd probably like that."

The two girls hopped onto the motorcycle and sped down the road. Aria did like riding on the bike, one of the few things she did really enjoy. Aria also enjoyed being around Sunset, but only when it was just them two. When the others were around it wasn't as fun, but with just Sunset, Aria could actually enjoy herself. But she rarely showed it, something she new she should work on.

The two arrived at the theatre, getting off the bike and removing their helmets.

"I will never understand how you and your sisters fit all that hair in the helmets," Sunset stated. "Especially Adagio."

"One of life's great mysteries," Aria replied with her dry sarcasm, making Sunset giggle. They got their tickets and moved into the theatre, and it was surprisingly empty. Aria sat down in the best seat, directly in the middle and center. Sunset sat next to her, enjoying the fact they were alone.

"Did you want any popcorn, or a drink?" Sunset asked.

"Sure, why not," Aria replied. She started to get up to go get some, but Sunset stopped her.

"I got it," she said with a smile. Aria watched her get up and walk out, then she looked back at the dark screen. She thought about how nice Sunset always was to her, despite the fact she didn't really deserve it. Sure she was nice to all three of them, but sometimes she was especially nice to her, just her. Aria always just shrugged it off or didn't care, but now that she thought about it, it kinda made her feel happy on the inside.

Soon Sunset was back with some popcorn and drinks, handing them to Aria.

"Thanks," she said, to which Sunset happily nodded and smiled. "Sunset, how come your so nice to us, so nice to me?"

"Your my friends Aria, I want you three to be happy," she responded.

"Alright, whatever you say," Aria stated. The movie started and Aria was immediately enjoying it, although it was hard to tell from the outside. Sunset wasn't much of a horror movie person, but the more she was around Aria, the more she enjoyed them. She just wanted Aria to be happy, see her smile, bring joy to her soul. All throughout the movie Sunset glanced over at Aria, just to see if she was having a good time. Once the movie was over, the two of them walked out of the theatre and over to the restaurant across the street. They got a booth and sat down, looking at the menus. After they ordered, Aria heard a couple chatting to each other a few tables down. They were being all overly sweet to each other as they kept going back and forth saying I love you. Aria rolled her eyes and looked back at Sunset.

"I can't stand people like that, so over the top with saying I love you. People like that are the worst," she stated.

"It can get annoying, especially in a place like this. Save the love stuff for at home," Sunset agreed with her.

Aria nodded her head and took a sip of her drink. "I'm surprised your not with anyone Sunset."

"Why?"

"You just seem like someone that would have a boyfriend."

"I don't even like guys."

Aria put her drink down, giving Sunset a curious look. "Really, you prefer girls over guys?"

"Yes...what about you, girls or guys?"

"I'd go with girls."

"Really?"

"Hell yes, girls are so much better," Aria stated. "So, what's your favorite part about a girl?" she asked, leaning on her hand.

"Um, I like their personalities more-"

"Not like that, I mean what body part is your favorite?"

Sunset blushed as she thought about her answer. "I guess I'd go with...their ass..."

"Hm, never would've taken you for a ass girl. But whatever," Aria replied, lifting her head off her hand.

"What about you?"

"Boobs."

"Oh...interesting. Big or small?"

"Mmm, medium. Not to small, not to big." Aria responded as their food arrived.

Aria began to eat while Sunset looked down, not at her food, but at her chest, hoping she was just the right size. They quietly ate their food, and when they were getting close to being finished, Aria went to pull out her money, but Sunset stopped her again.

"I'll pay for it," she said with a smile. She opened her wallet, and Aria got to see how much money she had in it.

"You have a lot of money," she said, looking from the other side on the table.

"Yeah, I've been saving up this past year so I could go on a cruise with the others from my school. I've been looking forward to this trip since last year, and I got the exact amount to go, with some extra cash for other stuff."

Aria nodded her head and watched her pay for the meal. The two then got up and walked out, but instead of going home, they decided to walk down the street. It was a cool evening, but Aria liked the cold. Sunset walked by her side, trying to be as close as she could get without it being awkward. They walked in silence until they pasted a music store. Aria stopped walking and looked into the window. Standing on the other side of the glass was a purple guitar, one of the newest models. Sunset joined her at the window, and looked from the guitar back to Aria. Sunset had never seen the siren so happy before, her face was covered with joy. Sunset looked at the price, and saw that it was really expensive. Aria noticed to, but it didn't stop her from wanting it.

"I will buy that someday," she said, walking away from the window. Sunset took one last look at it, then rejoined the purple girl. They walked some more before deciding it was time to head back. Two hopped onto the motorcycle, and Sunset drove her home. They said their goodbyes and she was on her way to her own home.

Sunset passed the music store, and decided to stop again. She got off her bike and walked to the window, looking the guitar over, and then at the price. It was a high price, just as expensive as the cruise Sunset wanted to go on. She looked at her money, then back to the guitar. She wanted to go on that cruise, but the sight of seeing Aria happy filled her with joy. She stood there for what seemed like hours, going from thinking about the cruise to thinking about happy Aria. She finally made up her mind and entered the store.

The next evening, Aria was sitting on the couch, messing with her phone, when a knock came at the door. She walked over and opened it, surprised to see Sunset on the other side.

"What are you doing here?" she asked.

"I came to bring you a present," Sunset answered with a smile. She pulled the guitar from behind her back and handed it to Aria.

Aria excepted it with a look of joy, but soon another thought came to her head. "How did you pay for this?"

"I had the money, you saw it yesterday."

"But...what about the cruise, the trip you was so excited about?"

"Seeing you happy is far more important than any boat trip, besides, I can always go another year."

"You really think that?"

"Yes Aria, I want to see you happy, I care a lot about you."

"You, you do?"

Sunset looked down at the ground before continuing. "I love you Aria."

Aria couldn't believe what she was hearing, someone actually loved her.

"I'll let you think about this, I hope you enjoy your new guitar," Sunset said as she waved bye and walked to her bike.

Aria waved back and walked into the house. She went into her room and sat on the bed, holding the guitar in her hands. She strummed a few notes on it as she thought about what just happened. Aria knew she wasn't exactly the most likeable person, so she was shocked that someone as nice as Sunset could actually love her. And if her words didn't get to her, her actions did. She held the guitar in her hands, thinking about how she could've used her money to go on the trip with her friends, but instead she just wanted to see Aria happy. She put the guitar down on her bed and walked out of her room, down the stairs, and out of the house. She knew Sunset didn't live to far, so she walked all the way there. After around two hours of walking, she made it to her house. She quickly knocked, hoping Sunset wasn't already asleep, since it was getting late.

Sunset walked to her door, wondering who could possibly be at her house, but she was quite shocked to see Aria standing outside. "Aria, what are you doing here?"

"I came to say...that I care about you too."

Sunset's eyes widened at what she said. "You really do?"

"Yes, I do. I...I love you too..."

Sunset smiled and tightly hugged Aria, pulling her into the house. No words could express how happy she was to hear her say that.

"And I brought you a present too," Aria said in the hug.

Sunset backed out of the hug, "What is it?"

Aria responded by kissing Sunset, putting her hands on her shoulders. Sunset couldn't believe what was happening, but she instinctively wrapped her arms around Aria. The two kissed for several minutes, before Aria pulled away.

"I hope you liked it."

"I loved it," Sunset replied. The two kissed again, as Aria pushed Sunset up against the wall. They took a breath before going back in, this time with their tongues also in the action. Aria moved her hand up to Sunset's breasts, giving them a squeeze.

"Just the right size," she said with a seductive smile.

Sunset reached her hand around and grasped Aria's ass. "Same for you," she said

The two continued to grope and kiss each other, until Sunset pulled Aria into the bedroom. The two kissed before giving each other a nod, which led to them stripping of their clothes.

Sunset woke up the next morning to the sun shinning in. She looked around her room before noticing she was naked, which at first surprised her since she never slept like that. Then she looked over at the sleeping Aria next to her, also completely naked. She both smiled and blushed as the memories of what happened last night came back to her. Soon Aria woke up, starting in a grumpy mood, but it changed when she saw Sunset next to her.

"Morning," she said to her.

"Good morning, did you sleep well?" Sunset asked her.

"Yeah," she replied. Aria picked up her phone and saw the three missed phone calls from Adagio. She rolled her eyes as she called her back.

"Where are you?" Adagio asked over the phone.

"I'm with Sunset," Aria answered.

"Next time, tell us where your going before you leave."

"Yeah whatever Adagio."

"And come back home, Sonata needs you help."

"Ok," she said as she hung up. She turned to Sunset, "Apparently I'm needed."

"That's a shame, I had more plans for us today," Sunset said with a smirk.

"You know what," she said as she crawled over on top of Sunset, "those idiots can wait." She gave her new girlfriend a kiss before moving down, under the blankets.
