//------------------------------// // Reconstruction of Events // Story: The Summer Sun Incident // by Zaid ValRoa //------------------------------// celestia's royal archmage court canterlot INFORMATION: 5 January To: Her Royal Highness, Princess Celestia From: New Spark Subject: Summer Sun Incident RECONSTRUCTION OF EVENTS Based on the findings of the Archmage Court as well as information provided by the Royal Guard, we've managed to establish a timeline of events leading up the explosion of the Southern Tower of the Royal Castle. On the evening of the Summer Sun Celebration, Twilight Sparkle entered her residence in the Southern Tower with the intent of "saving Equestria" from an unknown menace. To do this, she partook in dark magic. At this time, it's unknown how Miss Sparkle acquired this knowledge. Whichever spell or spells were used drained most of her own magic while also causing a high concentration of nature magic in her living quarters. This mix of magic sources grew denser until it reached its peak at the time of the explosion. While most of the energy release was aimed skywards, the force of the blast resulted in extensive damage to the Southern Tower, including, but not limited to: The caving in of the observatory of the Southern Tower. The incineration of a sizeable portion of Twilight Sparkle's books. The destruction of scientific equipment present in the observatory Severe physical trauma on both Twilight Sparkle and her assistant. Shortly afterwards, the Royal Guard arrived at the scene and the investigation started. CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS The cause of the incident has already been determined. However, the specifics of the spells used as well as how Twilight Sparkle discovered them are of great interest to the Archmage Court. A separate investigation will focus on solving these issues as well as appropriate prosecution for the crime of casting dark magic. As far as the Court is concerned, the matter of the Summer Sun Incident has reached its conclusion. New Spark Fourth-rank Arcanist of the Royal Archmage Court
