//------------------------------// // Cloudy with a Chance of Magic // Story: Cloudy with a Chance of Magic // by TacoBiteToughGuy //------------------------------// On one beautiful, sunny day in Ponyville, Applejack was bucking apples at Sweet Apple Acres. The birds singing harmoniously, the bees buzzing around the flowers, it was the perfect day for anypony in Ponyville. Unless you were outside in the scolding hot sun, muscles sore, dehydrated and straight up tired. "Whew, sure is a hot one today. What do you think Winona?" Applejack asked, trying to stay optimistic. Winona was trying to stay cool, sleeping under a nearby apple tree. "I'd take that as a yes." The orange mare got back to work, bucking an apple tree full of apples. She had a lot more trees to go through. Through the dreaded heat, the farm pony kept going, bucking and kicking until no single apple was left un-bucked! "And that's the last one!" Applejack said, bucking a tree with the rest if her remaining strength. "Boy, I sure am tired. I think I deserve a treat; a nice, tall, cold glass of cider." The workhorse retrieved all the apples, then made her way back to the barn. Her faithful companion, Winona, followed her back with hope that she might get something to cool down as well. About halfway back to the barn, a bright, purple light was emitted into the sky. "What in tarnation?" Applejack was curious of the light. "It looks like its comin' from Ponyville... I've got to help ma friends if they are in danger!" She turned to leave, ready to gallop by her friends' sides. That's when it hit her. Like a push from 500 stallions, Applejack went flying down the dirt road, clearly shoved by an extreme force. Applejack, whilst still in the air, saw that the beacon of light had disappeared and was nowhere to be found. That was the last thing she spotted before she hit the ground. Applejack found herself lying in a hospital bed, with Nurse Redheart, Big Macintosh, Applebloom, and all of Applejack's friends looking down at her, looking quite content, like a huge burden had been lifted off their backs. When Applejack was starting to come into full consciousness, she heard the purple baby dragon speak. "Yo Applejack, you alright?" "Yeah, thanks to all y'all. Ah, mah head is poundin' like a bucking bronco at the rodeo. What happened? All I remember is a large laser thingamajig that pointed up into the sky, and now I'm here, at the hospital." "Wait, did you say large laser thingamajig that pointed up into the sky?" Twilight asked, wanted to grasp every ounce of information she could get from Applejack. "Uh huh, you bet your britches I did. I saw it, and I am pretty sure it came from Ponyville too. You couldn't miss it. It was a bright purple beam of light. Did y'all see it too?" "Um, not me. I was just in the library, studying. Because that's what I do, I study. Study books. So, I'm probably gonna go now. Bye!" Twilight went to leave, but was stopped by Rainbow Dash's intimidating voice. "Hey, Twilight wait. Applejack, did you say a bright purple beam of light?" "Uh huh, so what?" "Ugh, how aren't you guys putting two and to together. What colour is Twilight Sparkle over there?" "Purple... Ah!" Rarity exclaimed, realizing the connection. "I see somepony has it. Now, what colour was the beam of light in the sky?" "Purple, but I don't see how this has to do with Twilight." AJ just couldn't get it. "Um, Rainbow? I think I get it..." Fluttershy told the blue pegasus what she thought the connection was in her ear. Rainbow gave an approving nod to her afterwards, signifying that she hit the nail on the head. "What does this have to do with purple... Oh, I got it. Twilight was casting some crazy spell and it made a huge ray of light and a huge shockwave." "Finally! So now the real question is, what was Twilight doing at that time?" All eyes turned to Twilight, who hung her head, and shuffled her hooves. She resembled Fluttershy when she didn't want to talk. "I'm sorry everypony. I didn't mean for anypony to get hurt. It was going to be a surprise, but I guess it's hard to send a rocket into the atmosphere without anypony seeing it. I might as well tell you the full story, so get comfortable." "Back when we battled Discord, many things were crazy and weird. But there was one thing not only myself, but Pinkie as well, were curious about: the chocolate rain. Of course, I couldn't figure out how it worked because nothing actually made any sense, so it basically came from nowhere. However I wanted to recreate the rain with science. So in my lab, I searched for a way to turn water vapour, or clouds, into chocolate rain. I didn't have a cloud at the time, so I just used steam, and it worked tremendously! Not only did I figure out the correct formula for chocolate rain, the machine I built makes any type of food you want. I have to controls in my lab, and I just suggest food to come from the sky! I wanted to save it for Pinkie's birthday present, but it needed more testing. I wanted to try it with an actual cloud, so I sent the machine up to get it, and it has a very strong rocket attached to the back. That's probably what knocked you over, the shockwave was probably very strong and I only protected Ponyville from the force of the rocket. As for the laser, it was just a cover for the machine to go up to the sky without anypony noticing it behind the bright veil of light. I'm so sorry for what happened AJ." "I'll be fine. Don't sweat buckets over it. Now what's this about a doohickey that can make food?" "I call it the Twilight Sparkle Diatonic Super Mutating Dynamic Food Replicator, or TSDSMDFR for short. I can make anything you like. However, it needs some testing still. Although it worked with the steam, I don't know if it will function with the clouds." "Oh, oh! Can I make a request?!?" Pinkie perked up from behind Fluttershy, startling her and sending her under the bed. "It's just Pinkie, Fluttershy." Twilight assured. "Sure Pinkie, what would you like?" "Hmm, how about daffodil sandwiches?" "Bahahaha! So you're telling me it's going to rain daffodil sandwiches? You guys have some crazy machine if you can actually make that happen!" Rainbow was chuckling to herself, full of doubt. "Wait and see Rainbow. At 12 noon tomorrow, there will be plenty of sandwiches for everypony!" Twilight was sure that she had a great invention on her hooves. "Alright everypony, settle down." AJ called out, before the argument got anymore heated. "I'm headin' on home now, ain't no bump gonna stop me. I suggest everypony go home as well. I do say that I am mighty interested in your little gizmo there Twi, but just try not to hurt anypony else, alright?" "You have my word." "Good. Now, I'll be seeing y'all soon, hopefully over some sandwiches. G'night everypony!" Applejack had gotten out of bed and went out the door of the room. She could hear all the other ponies saying their good-byes and leaving behind her. Once she got out of the hospital, she turned down the road into the ever setting sun. "Well, it's 11:50 now, wonder if those sandwiches are actually gonna fall?" AJ wiped the sweat off her brow. She was back in the fields, despite the doctors telling her to rest up. She was just too stubborn to listen to them. Just then, something hit the ground beside her. "What in tarnation?" AJ turned and looked, and she was greeted with the sight of a sandwich. A daffodil sandwich. She couldn't believe her eyes. A daffodil sandwich just fell from the sky and landed beside her. Applejack picked it up with her mouth, and ate it whole. It tasted like a daffodil sandwich, it felt like a daffodil sandwich, it was definitely a daffodil sandwich. However, another sandwich hit the ground. Then another. Soon AJ had about 10 sandwiches around her. "Twilight's crazy contraption actually worked! I don't believe it!" She picked up another sandwich and ate it as well. Then a third, then a fourth. After she swallowed the last sandwich, she was full and completely satisfied. But the orange earth pony wasn't going to let the food to go to waste. She grabbed the rest, and brought them to the barn. These are for later, Applejack thought to herself, before going out and finishing her chores. Two days later, and the mysterious raining sandwiches was still the talk of the town. The mane 6 decided to keep it a secret, and Pinkie made Spike "Pinkie Promise." "But Pinkie-" "No buts! Could you imaging the amount of world domination we could rule with this contraption? It could rain ice cream everyday for the rest of our gluttonous lives! I know how much you love your ice cream..." "Mmm... Ice cream..." Spike mumbled and stumbled away, daydreaming of the amount of ice cream a day of mint chocolate precipitate could form and how much Spike would eat of it. It was easily enough for anypony to have a massive stomach ache, let alone a baby dragon. He would face that problem when he got to it though as that was "Future Spike's problem." "Hey Twilight, as the silly food machine thingy was a success, why don't we try it again? I could really go for some hay burgers!" Pinkie suggested to Twilight, who was just finishing updating the software for the TSDSMDFR. "Why not, I'll set it for one hour from now. Better get ready, there will be a lot of food." "Oh thank you Twilight! You are the best friend ever!" After a quick hug, Pinkie ran out of the library with lightning speed and headed for Sugarcube Corner, the place she would be when the burgers would start falling. Twilight could only shake her head and laugh as she she got started on the new input. Fluttershy was out visiting her small hummingbird friends, getting them to sing a harmonious tune. Their pitch perfect voices made a beautiful sound, that is until a sound scared them off. "No, hummingbirds come back! There is nothing to be afraid of, honestly. It's just a hay burg-" Fluttershy caught herself mid-sentence and realized what was going on. When it rained daffodil sandwiches, Fluttershy had more than her fair share. She couldn't help herself as they were so delicious! The pegasus picked up the delicacy and took a large bite out of it. It was even better than the daffodil sandwiches! The hay went graciously with the tomatoes and lettuce, and the cheese had been melted on, all wrapped within a flaky bun. She quickly ate the rest of the burger in one swift bite, then picked up another, then another, and another... Everypony could not understand what was happening, nor did they really care. All they knew was that the raining food was delicious and that they wanted more. Even athletic ponies like Rainbow Dash could not get enough of the raining food, even though it went against her diet of only healthy foods. Not wanting to compromise her diet, she flew over to the Golden Oak library and have the door a knock. The door opened but the pony standing there was not who she expected to see. "Oh, hey Pinkie!" "Hiya Rainbow! What'cha doing here?" "I was going to ask Twilight to make it rain something a bit healthier than what it has been raining. And what are you doing here?" "I just asked Twilight to make it rain chocolate chip cookies! It should be a few minutes until it begins! Well, I'll see ya later, I don't wanna miss a second of the cookie downpour!" Rainbow could only groan as Pinkie Pie hopped away, plot bouncing slightly more than usual. Rainbow paid it no attention and entered Twilight's house. "Hello? Twilight?" "Down here!" The alicorn called from the basement of the library. Rainbow followed the sound and made her way into the roots of the tree. Down the wooden steps, she saw Twilight typing in on a computer. On the screen she could see a large chocolate chip cookie and a timer below it. "Hi Rainbow, what brings you here?" Asked Twilight, not looking up from her computer. "Can you make foods that aren't so bad for you with the machine? The only foods that have been raining down have been daffodil sandwiches and hay burgers and soon to be chocolate chip cookies. Could you make it rain celery or something? I'll never become a Wonderbolt if I keep eating junk like this!" "Mhmm, sure thing." The purple pony replied in an almost robot like tone. She lifted a hoof and pointed to a long piece of paper that had writing on it. The title was "Sign-Up Sheet" and below were two columns: name and item. Pinkie had definitely put some thought into this, as she had sixteen different items on the list, all different types of extremely fattening foods. Fluttershy had also came and written down suggestions, all of which were pastries and sandwiches. Rarity had many types of fancy cakes and pastries beside her name and Applejack had assorted apple treats to her name. Rainbow picked up the pencil on a nearby desk and wrote down her name and suggestion, celery. She knew it would be a while before hers came up, but if she could last that long she would be fine. She bid Twilight farewell and left the library. As she exited Twilight's home, the cookie downpour was just beginning. She picked one up and even though she knew she should not taste it, she ate it. The delicacy was baked to perfection, with a chewy dough and melted chocolate chips, it was a chocolate chip cookie any baker would envy. Losing all self control, Rainbow Dash kept feeding herself more and more cookies as they continued to fall from the sky. Rarity, the fashionista pony of the bunch, had enjoyed the idea of raining food. It gave her new inspiration for a new line of dresses and bathing suits for the upcoming season, summer. She began to make dresses with puffy fringes, just like the icing on an exquisite cake. Rarity also made hats and other articles of clothing, all of which were made to resemble food. For example, the ice cream scoop hat. It wouldn't sell well for a true fashion pony but would catch the eye of any wandering tourist. The unicorn's business at the carousel had been booming with ponies from out of town ever since they heard about what was going on in Ponyville. From unicorns to pegasi to earth ponies, all of them wanted a taste of this "raining food." With Ponyville's economy rising from tourist spending, many businesses were able to purchase more inventory, which made consumers spend more bits on more items. This cycle seemed to continue as long as the food continued to rain. Many local ponies had been eating the falling treats for a few weeks now, and it had impacted their bodies slightly. One of the ponies was Fluttershy, who owned a larger amount of property than those who lived within town. As the animals that Fluttershy tended to do not eat the confectionaries from the sky, Fluttershy ate every morsel of food on her lawn as she did not like to waste food. However, it had started to have an effect on her. Her toned barrel had a jiggle to it and started to hang and wobble when she was in her hooves. Her rump had grown more prominent than her belly, causing it to sway when she walked and caught the eyes of the many stallions regardless of their marital status. Her chin was still alone but the hint of a pair was starting to become apparent. Fluttershy's cute face had remained unscathed from her fattening body but most ponies were staring at her plot anyways so it did not matter to them. The pegasus was tending to her new eagle friends. She was getting them sticks and leaves to help build a nest for them. She went to give one of the birds a bundle of sticks when her stomach rumbled loud enough for the Aves members to stare at her with curiosity. "Sorry my little eagles but I have to go. I will be back soon though!" After leaving the sticks with the eagles, she flew off towards her cottage to get ready for the next item of food to fall from the sky. Twilight Sparkle, the grand inventor of the TSDSMDFR, was now regretting building the machine. It was all her friends talked about these days. They all asked her to make it rain this treat or that delicacy. Since it had now been about two months since the daffodil sandwiches, Twilight has had no time to go outside and admire her contraption anymore. Her friends, however, were a different story. Rainbow had managed to put on the least amount of weight as she had tried to resist eating the food in the beginning. Now not only did she not care about her physique, she had started to enjoy it (with some reluctancy of course). She had a slight belly and a small wobble in her flank and legs but that was about it. Applejack was also in not-that-bad of shape. Her legs were large compared to the rest of her but it was because of immense muscle from years of bucking on the farm that caused them to become so large. Regardless, they still had a bit of pudge on them, along with the rest of her body. Her ripped core had a small pillow of fat concealing it and her fit flank was looking a little more plush than usual. Rainbow Dash was still the smallest of the five but Applejack was definitely the most fit. Pinkie Pie, despite asking for the most food was still in a decent condition because of her amazing metabolism. However that did not stop her from acquiring a small belly and a fuller behind. Her legs took some of the fat too, as they had expanded to the point where they could almost touch. Pinkie's smiling face was kissed by the all the food she was consuming. Her cheeks were slightly fuller and her head was supported by one and a half chins. She was officially classified as an overweight pony. Rarity, even though she was a seamstress and made many of her own clothes, had a large sweet tooth and would eat many of the snacks that landed at her front door. As it had started to rain two to three times a day, she constantly found herself outside, eating as many chocolate bars and other confections as her belly could fit and then some. Because of her constant eating, her waistline greatly expanded. Her belly was quite large and had a bit of an overhang when she sat down on a chair or sofa, but her plot took the cake (pun intended). Definitely the location of most of her fat, Rarity's derrière was now wide enough to take up almost two seats on a standard sofa and looked like two over-puffed marshmallows from a distance. The unicorn's rump had began to hang and cover the hocks on her back legs while her cutie mark had become about twice the size it used to be. Rarity's double chin wobbled whenever she opened her mouth and her plush cheeks filled out to make her face seem more friendly. As her weight increased, she began to become upset with her appearance. Like anytime the dramatic pony was upset, she decided to eat tubs of ice cream for hours on end. The copious amounts of frozen dessert only added to her luscious behind, making it expand larger and larger. The largest pony of all was Fluttershy. She had continued her trend of eating all the food that appeared on her lawn and managed to stretch her stomach so much that she was still hungry after eating thirty large cookies. The pegasus became a frequent visitor to Sugarcube Corner, constantly ordering cakes and brownies to help tame the beast of her stomach. With all this eating, her body inflated at a rapid pace. Her plot, not as big as Rarity's, could still barely sit in a single-seated chair. She could be comfortable but her cheeks would hang off the edges of the seat. While her plot was quite large, her belly was even larger! If her plot was hanging over the edges of her seat, her belly was cascading its rolls onto her thick legs. When she walked, it swayed side to side as it rippled from every step she took, which was not many as she got very tired very quickly. A third chin was well on its way to support her chubby head. Unlike Rarity, she was indifferent about her looks, just as long as she could care for her animal friends. Twilight knew her gizmo was well admired in the community but she knew that she had to stop it. It was just too unhealthy for ponies to gain that much weight that fast. She decided to send a message to all the citizens of Ponyville. A message that Twilight knew would get negative feedback... "Twilight, what in tarnation were you thinking?" Applejack asked the purple pony. "That was the worst idea you've had with that invention of yours! You should have stuck with the cakes and everything you were making before." "I mean, this is even worse than the time you made us eat celery from the TSDSMDFR! I didn't think there was something else worse than that but here we are at something worse!" Pinkie added. "How was I supposed to know that the carrots were going to be that sharp?" Twilight retorted to the pairs comments. The six friends were all inside the library while the oncoming carrot storm continued outside. As the vegetables hit the ground, instead of bouncing off the dirt and landing sideways, the carrots landed straight into the ground and even managed to penetrate the cement walkways. Luckily everypony got inside quickly enough and nopony was hurt, however it did make Twilght's friends a bit upset. Instead of eating tasty pastries, they had to watch as vegetables bombarded the soil beneath their hooves. "Um, Twilight?" Fluttershy started sheepishly. "Yes Fluttershy?" Responded an upset yet frustrated tone. "Do you have any food? I'm starving for a bite to eat." Fluttershy's face changed from its natural yellow to more of an red shade due to her blushing. "Ugh, go help yourself to the fridge." "Fluttershy, mind if I join you? I am feeling a bit peckish at the moment." Rarity chimed in as Fluttershy got up from her two chairs. "Of course. Thank you Twilight." And with that, the two large ponies got out of their seats and turned to the kitchen, but not before Twilight could steal a glance at their enlarged bodies. Instead of being appalled or disgusted by them, she found herself full of curiosity. How many rolls could Fluttershy's belly have? How much longer until Rarity's plot took up an entire sofa? Who would reach immobility first? All these questions produced pictures of her friends in her head and made her wings feel funny. Before she knew what was going on, her wings were full spread as the pair of ponies turned into the kitchen with Twilight staring right at them. Rainbow whispered something to Applejack and the work pony worked hard to stifle a laugh. Applejack then leaned over to Pinkie and whispered what Rainbow had said into her ear. Pinkie Pie began to smirk, then looked at Twilight, then back at Rainbow Dash. As good as she was at holding back Pinkie Promises, this was not a Pinkie Promise and ended up blurting out what was supposed to be kept in secrecy. "Twilight is a chubby chaser!" The party pony shouted, snapping Twilight from her trance. "What? I am not!" "Are so!" Rainbow said defiantly. "Why else would you be attracted to Fluttershy and Rarity? Do not even say that you are not attracted to them, it's written all over your face and wings!" "It is pretty obvious Twilight." Applejack threw in. "I-I-I..." "It's alright to be attracted to another mare Twilight. Heck my Aunt Applesauce fancied a mare more than any stallion." Applejack spoke in a comforting tone. "I will be the first to admit that our two friends do carry their weight well. If somepony is attracted to them, I could definitely see why." "I did not even think I liked mares. All my life I was sure I liked stallions. I confess though, I really do like the curves those two have put on. I have never been attracted to bigger males though, only the standard models in the magazines." Twilight realized about herself. "That makes you a bisexual partial-chubby chaser. Anything else that you want me to add to the list?" Pinkie asked with a pen and paper already in hoof. "No Pinkie, that's quite alright." Twilight replied, a slight shake in her words as the notebook and pen got stuffed into Pinkie Pie's mane once more. "Okie dokie!" "Hey Twilight, is there anything we can do to help you out? I'm done kickin' clouds for the rest of the day and it's not like any of us can go anywhere anytime soon." A supportive Dash came and flew up beside her. "Do you need ideas of foods to make rain? Or how about making sure those two actually eat the food? Or how about-" "Thanks for the support Rainbow, but I'm just a bit flustered right now and I just need to take a break." Twilight interrupted, clearly unsure of what to do next. "Well can you at least teach me how to use the machine? That way you don't have to be stuck in your lab all the time. It means more time for you and the portly pair!" Dash reasoned with the inventor of the TSDSMDFR. "Think of all the fun you could have feeding those two, adding to their plush rolls and heavyset bodies. You could caress their dough-like bodies and maybe do a little bit more..." "You really want to learn how the machine works, don't you?" Twilight asked, as Rainbow Dash replied with a nod. "Alright, I'll show you. Follow me downstairs, if you can make it back up!" Twilight immediately had a painted smile on her face after her comment, feeling a little better after cracking a joke at the once athletic pony. "Hey, I'm not fat! Well, at least not that fat..." The pegasus blushed while prodding her stomach with her hoof, following the purple mare from the air. "Well Pinkie, what in tarnation do we do now?" Applejack sat beside her fellow earth pony wondering what to do now that everyone had left. "We can't go home, the carrot storm is still brewin'." "That's what you think! It's a good thing I always come prepared, you never know when you'll need a metal umbrella!" Pinkie Pie went to the coat hanger beside the door and picked up her protection from the storm. "Do you want me to walk you home AJ?" "Ah'm not even gonna ask. Thanks Pinkie, but somepony should check on Rarity and Fluttershy. They've been gone for quite a while now." "Alrighty, have a great day then Applejack!" Just like that, Pinkie was out the door and into the carrot catastrophe that was outside, leaving the farm pony alone in the centre library section of Twilight's house. Not for long though, as the orange mare made her way to check up on the kitchen. A few paces away, Applejack could hear the sound of ponies munching away on all kinds of delicacies. As she neared the kitchen, the noises got louder, echoing through the halls and into the pony's ears. Just as she turned the corner, she couldn't believe what she saw... "Alright, so do you think you understand now?" Twilight asked Rainbow, who was learning with full interest, which was quite unusual for the ex-athlete. "I think so. All I have to do is type in the food I want and hit the red button, right?" Rainbow asked, acting it out while explaining the process. "To put it simply, yes." Twilight had to smile at her friend's actions. Watching such a chubby pony use her machinery made her stomach flutter a tad. She was a slight bit disappointed though. With Rainbow down here, the pegasus could not retrieve the food to add to her expanding frame. "Make sure you give it time to cool down though, otherwise you may end up overheating the system." "You got it boss!" The pegasus saluted to the princess. "So, when can I use it?" "When it cools down, we just had that carrot-tastrophie and now wouldn't be the best time to make it rain food." The purple mare gifted Rainbow with the guilt of her awful suggestion. "What were you thinking when you wrote that down? Nopony wants to eat carrots anyways!" "I said I was sorry for the millionth time! That was back when I actually tried to be healthy during all of this." Rainbow smacked her protruding belly, causing it to ripple slightly over the surface of her barrel. "Now I got this baby attached to me! Honestly, I doubt that we will ever lose the weight, so I might as well embrace it." "I think the weight suits you. Not from a chubby chaser point of view, but as a friend. If you are happy with your weight, then I am happy for you." "Thanks Twilight!" The two came in close and gave each other a hug, the alicorn squishing into the pegasus slightly more than usual. "Um, Twilight, have you lost weight?" Rainbow questioned, concerned about her friend's appetite. The purple mare looked down at herself, and was almost in shock at what she saw. Due to her constant work on the TSDSMDFR in the basement of the Golden Oak, she never had gotten outside to dine on the fattening and tasty treats. She had been living off drinks alone, constantly slurping down cups of tea and coffee. With no nourishment coming in, Twilight Sparkle steadily lost more and more weight. How she stood now, she was considered underweight and looked like it too. Her ribs were starting to show, and her core was concave rather than flat or convex. Her appendages had become thinner, while her cheeks and jaw bones became much prominent. With all of these changes, Twilight's response was not that exciting. "Maybe a few, but I'll be sure to get it back. If I can be around Rarity and Fluttershy, some of their eating habits should rub off on me. Being underweight is just as bad as being overweight, but I'm sure we can fix the health problems of obesity with a little pinch of magic." The librarian practically bounced up the stairs in a Pinkie Pie like manner. "Let's go see if I can gain weight and fix this small problem of mine! I'm sure there is more food left in the library! Those two won't be able to eat it all!" "You ate all of Twilight's food! How do y'all even fit that much grub inside ya?" Applejack was completely flabbergasted at the amount of food that fit within the pair of ponies. "Well not all of it Applejack. There is still a pie left, right Fluttershy?" Rarity turned and looked at Fluttershy, who had just stuck her muzzle into said pie. "I'm sorry, I wasn't paying much attention. I was just so happy to have this pie to eat, I'm still a teensy bit hungry." Fluttershy blushed, a rose colour blending in with her puffy cheeks. "I can share if you would like." "No Fluttershy, it's quite alright. Just go ahead and enjoy yourself." Rarity was quite embarrassed now after eating all of her friend's food like a gluttonous slob. The worst part of it all was that, like Fluttershy, she was also still hungry. She was so mixed up in her emotions, a tear slipped through her lashes and fell across her face. "I just can't believe I've lost all self control! All I do is stuff my fat face all day, watching as my once fabulous physique turn into a giant ball of lard! Oh Applejack, how am I supposed to live like this?" Her one tear was followed by several more, desperately looking to the earth pony for answers. "Twilight. She's the answer. Get closer to her, and she'll guide y'all to happiness. Same goes for Fluttershy. If the pair of yah can get closer to Twilight, ah think y'all can find true glee." Applejack spoke, not making eye contact with either of them. "That's coming from the Element of Honesty. Twilight might be a bit overbearing sometimes, but give her a shot." "I... I see. Is there anything else you can tell us?" Rarity was grasping for any information she could get her pudgy hooves on. "Yeah, keep on eatin'." Fluttershy had just finished eating the pie and caught the tail end of the conversation. "Well, I better get back home, Big Mac is probably having a fit with the giant carrots everywhere. Just remember what I said, it will pay off in the end. See ya two later!" With a tip of her Stetson hat, she turned and left, exiting the tree and entering the aftermath of the carrot storm. "What do you think she meant by getting closer to Twilight? Do you think she means help her out with stuff?" The white mare looked over to her yellow companion. However Fluttershy could only shrug at what Applejack had tried to tell them. It was definitely a mystery to them both. Life was currently bustling in Ponyville! The current average of weight per pony was through the roof, not that anypony minded. With their jiggly behinds and their drooping bellies, it was fair to sort every single resident of the once small town under the obese category. Well, everypony except one. Twilight Sparkle was still underweight despite her best efforts to try and put on weight. "Twilight, you've been at it for five minutes!" Rainbow complained to her companion. "You aren't going to gain ten pounds in ten minutes! This stuff takes time and dedication. Usually I'm all for completing tasks as fast as possible, but this isn't one of those times." "Ah reckon Rainbow Dash over there may be right sugar cube. It's not about the end result, it's about the journey getting there." Applejack threw her agreement into the conversation. "Just enjoy the food for a while and the pounds should pack on! Ah know they did for me!" The work pony patted her now plump belly, making it ripple with wave after wave of fat with each pat. "I know girls, thank you for the chat but I really need to stop talking and eat more cake. More cake *munch*, more Twilight." The book pony said, more interested in the raining delicacies above them. "All right Twilight, whatever you say. It's your choice, we won't interfere." Rainbow said to the skinny pony. "Was there anything we could do to help you out?" "Rainbow, do you remember how I *gulp* told you never to overuse the machine? I think this is a good time to test its limits! Make it rain any foods you would like! Just make sure they're extra fattening and delicious! I'll try and enjoy the ride like Applejack said while still pushing my stomach to its maximum!" "Whatever you say Twilight!" Rainbow couldn't care less about reasonable thinking, as Twilight had obviously thrown that out of the window. The pegasus was just excited to finally use the machine! "Let's go Applejack!" "I don't know... Leaving Twilight here doesn't sound like too good of an idea. Maybe I should stick with her and you go do your crazy contraption?" "Ugh, you're no fun Applejack! I'll be back Twilight!" And with that, she flew off towards the Golden Oak. Several weeks later, the machine had still been going at full power for some time and it seemed like there was no end to the cascading delectables. Rarity, once slim and trim, now was the top obese sower in Equestria thanks to her thriving business. The Carousel Boutique was doing well because so many ponies were outgrowing their clothes, Rarity included. Now almost too massive to move, she heavily relied on her unicorn magic to create her masterpieces. So with her hooves free from any work, she did what Applejack had told her to do: keep on eating. With the ridiculous amount of food raining from the skies, the white mare never ran out of sweets and mouth-watering treats to munch on while working on her latest fashion line. The most magnificent line with Rarity was her expanding waistline. Her belly was in close comparison to that of a big, puffy cloud, no doubt as soft as one. Rarity used her massive middle as a cushion to support her frame as the seamstress needed all the help she could get. Rolls upon rolls accompanied her girth and it suited her perfectly. However, there was one specific reason as to why stallions peek into her window while she worked: her beautiful backside. Her plot was an eye for the males and the envy of the females. With every movement she made, the two pillows of fat jiggled and swayed for several minutes after she finished moving. Her rear was as wide as a stallion was long and it was the one part of the whole weight fiasco that Rarity did not mind. That and all of the extra attention she was getting. While working her way through patching a large hole in the seam of a already large dress, the crafty pony received a knock on her door. Bring too massive to waste the effort of opening the door, Rarity simply responded with a flirtatious "Come in darling." The door opened wide and none other than Pinkie Pie plus 200 pounds bounced her way through the door. "Hiya Rarity!" "Hello dear, what can I help you with?" "I'm actually here on business, but not the regular sort of business." The pink pony replied slyly, taking several glances around. "Oh, what do the Cakes have you doing today?" Rarity asked, going along with Pinkie's shenanigans. "I'm not here from Sugarcube Corner silly!" Pinkie Pie chuckled, snorting several times before leaning in real close to Rarity's ear, "I'm here from Twilight." Now Pinkie had peaked her interest. Remembering what Applejack said, she decided to hear the crazy pony out. "Twilight says to come to the park where we usually have our picnics. There will be a special surprise for all of us! I'm really excited and I hope you can make it because I love surprises especially if they are special surprises so you better get a move on okay? I'll see you at the picnic!" Pinkie blurted out at a million words per minute before hopping to the door and closing it behind her. Rarity could only shake her head and stifle a chuckle before making her way for the door slowly yet surely. "Oh Angel, I am just so hungry now I can't stop feeling my stomach growl. It's actually kind of scary, please make it stop Angel Bunny." Fluttershy was busily scarfing down another sweet cake brought to her by her companion bunny, trying to stop the pain of an empty stomach to no avail. Her stomach was so stretched out that no matter how much food she jammed into her maw, she would still yearn for more. Angel could only watch in glee as more and more pounds piled onto Fluttershy's already immobile frame. The devious bunny always made sure the yellow pegasus had something to snack on, and it showed with her weight. The shy pony was clearly the heaviest pony in Ponyville with a substantial plot and a billowing belly. Her limbs were covered in layers of adipose so thick that they started to be absorbed into her plot and belly. Fluttershy really was a fat pony. Like Rarity, the pegasus received a knock on her door. Also like Rarity, Fluttershy was too large to make her way to the door. "Angel, can you get the door? I don't think I can make it all the way there by myself." Compliantly, Mr. Bunny made his way to the door and opened it up. Upon seeing who was there, he swung it wide so Fluttershy could see who had come to visit. "Hi Applejack. What are you doing here?" The farm pony had definitely grown over the past several months. With huge bucking thighs and a rounded barrel, Applejack had definitely gained at least 300 pounds since the whole situation started. "Howdy Fluttershy, ah'm actually here to deliver a message. Twilight would like to have all of us for a picnic back in our old spot. She was wondering if you would care to join us?" Applejack asked her timid friend in the best way she could. "I would love to Applejack, it's just that I don't think I will be able to go anywhere with all of the weight I have put on recently." Fluttershy blushed slightly, disappointed to not be able to go to the gathering. "Not to worry, I know how we can get you there," Applejack reassured her "Twilight and I knew you would be having some *ahem* difficulties, so she packed me with this beacon of sorts." The farm pony showed her an object that looked similar to that of a firework and a magician's wand mixed together. "With a push of a button, we should be at the place where we set up the other half of the beacon, allowing us non-unicorns to teleport as well. It's a little too complicated for a simple farm pony like myself but if it gets the job done, ah'm all for it." "Alright, I am ready to go. I'll be back later Angel Bunny, be responsible while I'm gone." As Applejack pushed the button while holding onto Fluttershy, the duo simply disappeared from Fluttershy's abode, as if they were never there. As a bright flash blinded Twilight, a loud pop was sounded. Fluttershy and Applejack appeared instantaneously in front of the slipper pony. "Wow Twilight, that teleporter is amazing!" Fluttershy said quite happily due to the fact she had a hard time looking around as is, let alone try and move anywhere. "Thanks Fluttershy! I'm hoping to have more of them made, especially some ponies are getting close to your size." As if on cue, the ground started to shake, each tremor about one second apart. Slowly, the shaking increased more yet at the same interval. Eventually, the source of the mini-earthquake was spotted; Rarity was making her way to the picnic spot and her waddling caused the soil to shake. In the end, Rarity finally made it to the picnic spot and collapsed, completely out of breath. "My...*huff*...word...*puff*...too...far...away!" Rarity finished before passing out into a well deserved nap. "Pinkie, did you not use the teleporter for Rarity?" "I thought it could take me to far away places where nobody else could go, so I didn't take her." Replied Pinkie, coming out of thin air. Twilight could only laugh as she watched the massive white pony snooze away in the noon hour sun. "I guess you all are wondering why I've called you here." Twilight started, seeming to recall a written speech from her head. "We all know that Ponyville has been made famous for its raining food. I am also sure that we all know the effect of having constant supply of junk food given to us." Twilight lifted a hoof towards Fluttershy, who could only blush her chipmunk-like cheeks. "So I come with a question in concern about the safety of all the residents of Ponyville: do we continue making it rain or do we stop the unhealthy precipitation?" "I say we keep it on. That way we can all have goodies and tasty treats all day!" Pinkie reasoned. "Ah agree sugar cube. Around the farm, it makes me so giddy to see a missed biscuit from an earlier shower." "Um, I would like the continue the raining food. It makes it easier for me to, um, keep eating." "Rainbow, what are your thoughts? Twilight questioned, turning to the blue pony. "Definitely keep the food coming! How else am I supposed to add to this amazing frame?" "And Rarity?" "Hmm, what was that darling?" Rarity drowsily replied, obviously just waking up from her nap. "Is it raining food yet?" "I'll take that as a yes. I just have two concerns. One concern is the health risks involved with our growing waistlines." Twilight gave her new belly a smack, jiggling slightly. "There should be a spell that can counteract the effects of obesity but that isn't the most devastating concern." "Well spit it out Twilight, you can't keep little old Pinkie Pie waiting much longer!" The party pony was almost littering with anticipation, waiting for the news. "Pinkie, I don't think you're so little anymore." Applejack chirped in before Twilight continued on with her thoughts. "My biggest concern is the machine itself. The TSDSMDFR was only sent up after several test runs of only a few minutes. Currently, it's been up for 4 months and 14 days and we have no way of checking up on it. Everypony is too heavy to fly that high and we cannot build anything sturdy enough to hold that much weight. So I think we may need to take the next few weeks easy with the TSDSMDFR, and only use it once every week, just to let it cool down from all this usage." "Seems fair, but could we possibly wait for a while before starting this delay." Rarity threw in, clearly not impressed."I have no food at my house and will obviously need to stock up over the next few days." There was a murmur of agreement among the other fat ponies. "Okay, I'll give you all one week to prepare. The food will continue down as normal, however I expect you all to get ready to stop relying on the raining food." All of the ponies gave a nod of approval to the purple pony. As if on cue, chocolate chip cookies started raining down from the clouds. "Enjoy girls!" With every pony more concerned with catching the delectable treats, they failed to notice the difference in size of the baked goods. When Twilight made it rain cookies before, they were no bigger than half a hoof. Now, there were larger than a hoof and a lot more thick. If any pony did notice, they probably wouldn't mind. More food means more fat! Though no pony saw it coming, this size issue would end up causing a lot of problems... Throughout the week, ponies kept gorging themselves on endless amounts of fattening foods. Twilight wanted to go out with a bang, and she was doing just that. Pushing the limits of the TSDSMDFR, she requested pastry after entree after treat. The food never slowed down for the whole week, and Ponyville's residents had never gained so much weight in so little time. With the increased size and the increased frequency of the unnatural occurrences, it was not uncommon to see a pony start the day mobile and end up sleeping in the streets due to their inability to move. Even Twilight, who started the week off overweight, was now on her way to immobility. With a billowing belly that dragged on the ground no matter how much she arched her back, large appendages that starting to fuse to her massive core and a wide plot that would frighten any chair, Twilight was truly a sight to see. Of course, she still looked tiny compared to everyone else in town. Most ponies were resting on their large bellies, muzzles to the sky to try and catch as much food as possible to feed their expansive stomachs. Of course, a lot of food just hit off their face and fell into one of their millions of folds. The food was too big to be caught in somepony's mouth as the size of the food had steadily been increasing over the last few days. Whole pizzas went from 12" to 40" and hayburgers became larger than most ponies' head, chins included. There was no limit as to how big the food could get. "Spike!" Twilight called as she entered the Golden Oak library, but got no reply back. "He must be stuck in the middle of Ponyville," she giggled to herself, "I'm sure he'll be fine, it's not like he can go anywhere! Now, time to go plan the finale!" Twilight waddled her frame down the steps, her juicy plot bouncing with every pace she took. Out of breath and still jiggling, she finally arrived at the TSDSMDFR controls. There was just one problem. There was another pony at the controls! "Pinkie! What are you doing here?" Twilight asked quite puzzled. "What do you think I'm here for silly! The grand finale!" Pinkie's eyes began to sparkle with glee, excited beyond all belief. "I wanted to help you out so I already planned what would be made, so I saved you all the trouble. It's all ready to go!" Pinkie beamed! She really was so happy as to help Twilight that before Twilight could even yell out a "Pinkie no!", she hit the red button and send the order up to the machine. "Pinkie! What did you send up there?!?" "Oh, just enough for the grand finale! You'll see when it rains down!" Pinkie laughed, not sensing Twilight's concern. "Come on Pinkie, we have to go! I don't know the limitations of the TSDSMDFR and I fear this may be too much for it to handle!" As the obese ponies raced outside as fast as their bodies would carry them, they stepped outside into a flurry of raining foods. Cakes, pies, hayburgers and fries! Pasta, brownies and massive pastries! Almost every fattening treat imaginable was raining down at the same time. The worse part about it all was the food raining down was massive! Instead of just being larger portions, these gigantic pieces of delectable food were now destructive pieces of mass consumption. Homes were slowly yet surely crumbling due to the amount of weight on top of them from the food laying atop the roof. This wasn't too big of a threat to the ponies though as their flab could absorb the blow from the impacts and cause less harm to the balls of lard, but it could still create some damage. "Pinkie, we gotta stop this!" Somepony is going to get hurt; if not from the food then from the buildings!" Twilight realized quickly, and set out to devise a plan that could save Ponyville and its inhabitants. "Twilight! I think I got it!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed after a full 0.01 seconds of thinking. "Let's use this doo-hickey to teleport the thingamajig away!" The crazy pony reaches into her mane and pulls out the teleporter that she was supposed to use to bring Rarity to the picnic. "That's fine and all Pinkie, but you need to set a place to teleport it to, plus you need to attach the part you're holding to the TSDSMDFR, which is some hundred meters above the ground." Twilight explained, knowing Pinkie's plan was a bust. "Duh, you can just teleport away and set the base and use your levitation powers to place the other part to the food-rainy thing, then just set it off!" Twilight did have to admit, her idea now did make sense. So Twilight detached the base of the teleporter and used her magic to teleport it to somewhere deep within the Everfree Forest. Now all she had to do was touch the other part of the teleporter to the TSDSMDFR and she was home free. Except with Rainbow grounded and nopony to replace her for the day, the clouds hadn't moved since this morning, back when it rained real rain. With a completely overcast sky, there was a small glimmer of hope for anypony, even Twilight, was going to find the source of the food. "There! I found it!" Twilight started jumping (but failed miserably) and pointing her hoof towards a small glimmer of light in the clouds! "Right there Pinkie! That blinking signal in the clouds!" With no further hesitation, the genius pony sent up the teleporter and eventually touched the two together. With a click of the button on the teleporter, the last thing anyone could see was a bright, white light. "And for my next trick, I, the Great and Powerful Trixie, will make an object appear!" Trixie, Twilight's magical rival, was practicing her magic tricks after becoming banished from Ponyville. "Alakazam!" As the last letter rolled off her tongue, a giant hayburger fell beside her, almost scaring her half to death! "Hmm, this isn't the tin can that was supposed to appear. Oh well, I can't let this go to waste. The Great and Hungry Trixie always eats everything!" As if those were the magic words she was looking for, more and more food began to fall around the aspiring magician. Trixie, with an expression that could only be described as dumbstruck, began to take a bite out of the food to see if it was, in fact, real food. Sure enough, it tastes heavenly to her as she hadn't eaten in several days. So Trixie began to eat and eat, constantly stuffing her face day in and day out. With more food constantly raining down in huge portions, Trixie was now bound for a road of massive obesity! But that's another tale, for another time.
