Several years later, Princess Malia and Francarlo and the changelings and gridanders get into a war with a group of creatures known as the Mardendorkus (a combination of a goat, Medusa, pig, and wolf). After several months of fighting this war, the changelings and gridanders come out on top but with Francarlo gravely injured. After several minutes of trying to help him, he finally dies in Malia's arms and her eyes begin to fill with tears that fall down her face. She then looks in a deep stare around at the gridanders and changelings that are surrounding her.
"Sorry for your loss, our queen," they say as they put their hooves on her shoulder. Thorax and Pharynx come forward and put their hooves on their mother's shoulder and try to give her a hug but she turns them away. She then flies off to her garden to mourn. She lost the love of her life and she's not going to be getting over it anytime soon.
