"is anything wrong dear?" Twilight heard the girl say. So far so good, Twilight thought if she could pull it off, then this is going to be her best performance this high school would have the pleasure to witness.
"It's really nothing, just a lonely girl from another school just sitting melancholically in the school cafeteria." Twilight then looked at the other girl face and noticed the curious look in her direction.
"Was it really that bad? Say are you a transfer student."
"Well not really! I am here just for a few days, and then I will be forced to return back. So then they would just send another student to finish the job," Twilight half lied.
Technically it was true, she would be forced to return home to make a full report. Then It will be out of her hoofs. Chrysalis would just then receive full control of the situation, and just perform traditional swap the pony with a changeling routine.
Changelings don't really mind for as long as there plenty of empathic energy to feed on, they are willing to stay in any hostile environment, except maybe outer space. There is nothing alive that could live there, so they weren't that enthusiastic about going there either.
"Can I ask you something? How did you manage to figure out that I might be a transfer student?"
"Well, you see, normally our school doesn't have a dress code, and only transfer students would usually wear their old uniforms."
"I have to say that I am guilty of that, but its kind of very stereotypical thing to do!"
"Yeah, I suppose!"
About five minutes human version of Rainbow Dash came to the table and sat down "Hey Rar, who is your pharmacist friend?"
"That's Twilight Sparkle she came from Crystal Prep to retrieve Sunset Shimmer who apparently gone native in Canterlot High, as much as unbelievable as it sounds."
"They sent a pharmacist to collect her? I am not sure why would they do that."
"Rainbow dear, she is not a pharmacist she is just a student just like us!"
"Okay! Okay! I am just messing with you, I know she is not the pharmacist. She is a mad scientist... Rar please stop glaring at me. She is not mad.... Is she nad?... Ow, stop hitting me... Geez, you can't take a joke!"
Twilight Sparkle sighed, "You are good friends, aren't you?"
"Why of course dear, me and Rainbow, and Pinkie, and Fluttershy, and Applejack are best friends forever. Nothing will change that."
"Rar! Didn't Sunset Shimmer try to mess with our friendship? She kind of like tried everything she could to make us think that each of us has been trash talking about each other..."
"...But then one day she just showed up one day with the broken nose, after that the fake hostility between us disappeared, and everything returned to normal. I believe that was your handiwork, Dash."
"Yep, nobody is going to mess with our friends and get away with it!"
Meanwhile, the static in Twilight's ear burst Ask them about the shadows! Twilight's eyes widened in surprise, she then almost fell from the stool.
"Oh, my! Are you alright?" Rarity asked her.
"Yes, I'll be fine! Just got a bit surprised about something. Say, I couldn't help but notice but didn't Sunset won the competition like four times in a row, what's up with that?"
"I guess that did happen," Rarity's voice suddenly became sour, she then switched back around "It doesn't really matter I mean nobody stays in this school for more than four years."
"Because they graduate, right? Not because they are... "
"Yes, yes they do graduate, and then they go into wonders of higher education, and sometimes student debt."Human Rarity interrupted Twilight from saying something she shouldn't, but both of them are aware of what it was.
Twilight decided this is the time to push her luck,"Right!? Well, are you absolutely positively sure that you are okay with her outstanding you in all four years straight?I mean this year is technically the last one for her. But didn't you wished to win at least once." Rarity's reaction was almost immediate.
"Twilight Sparkle was it if this is your real name? I suggest for your own sake for you to drop this topic. You do realize that I already found out at least a few plot holes in your cover story. Somehow I really doubt that someone would really use such ridiculous cover story!"
Twilight just continued like nothing happened, "Oh would it be more believable if I said that our school inserted a mole into your school, and by the time she was about to be extracted, she went completely out of control. "Twilight then went for a final nail, "Because with that rogue running around, I am pretty sure it would be such a shame that your school would lose to our school in the, what it was called, Friendship Games. You will know where to find me if you change your mind, but as of it now I can't really force you to do anything."
Ten minutes later in the school corridor, Sunset Shimmer confronted Twilight, which would then did put the second one in the vulnerable situation.
"What do you think you are doing?" Sunset Shimmer then spat the next word out. "Princess.
"I would have thought that Princess Celestia would do something like that! She sends somepony else to do her own dirty work!"
Twilight smirked at that, "And what makes you think that a failure is worth her attention? I will give you a bone we didn't even know you are even here until you foolishly decided to reveal yourself. Here is the problem while we don't really care what you do, we cant really allow you to keep running around in another dimension, especially after you bucked up by deciding to. So whats it going to be the easy way or the hard way?"
Sunset Shimmer narrowed her eyes, "I would like to see you try! It's funny because I really think you belong in Crystal Prep, with the rest of them. They only care about winning," she then turned and walked away.
"Well don't get upset when you are going to lose!" Twilight turned one-eighty and started to walk in a different direction.
Meanwhile, at the cafeteria table. Rarity and Rainbow had been deciding what they going to do next.
"Why are you keep insisting on calling her mad scientist?" Rarity addressed Rainbow
"Well, I don't know, I think its kind of fun!"
"You think its kind of fun?'
"Well yeah, the only stereotypes that I know of people wearing lab coats are pharmacists and mad scientists."
Rarity sighed, Rainbow Dash will always be Rainbow Dash nothing will change that. "Fine, you win! I will accept this proposal. I don't really care about the conflict between the two of them, but I just want to see how this going to end!"
"So, you do care then!"
"Yes! Yes! I do care! Now can we just sit here in peace and enjoy it before everything will pretty soon go to Tartarus at some point, in the next several days before the competition."
"Oh yeah sure, sorry about that Rar!"
