//------------------------------// // The Moon In The Night Part 2 - The Night in the Moon // Story: KONO DIO DA: DIO is Unbreakable // by DIO Brando //------------------------------// "Princess Luna. . ." DIO mused, taking a breath and straightening his posture as he stood. "I am the Princess of the Night, I believe you have met my sister, Princess Celestia." "Celestia. . ." DIO stopped for a moment, thinking of the battle he had. "I raise the moon, but I also protect ponies in their dreams, however, your nightmare was far worse than any other." "What do you mean, 'far worse'?" DIO asked curiously. A doorway was opened. "Come with me." DIO hovered in automatically, seeing a very familiar setup. His father throwing a fork by his face, his young self barely dodging it with swiftness. "You're having an internal struggle with yourself, your choices. It seems the friendship magic is contradicting with your evil intent greatly, but that's not all." The scene changed, showing a highway bridge in Japan. "ROADA ROLLA DA!" He saw himself, awakened, rushing towards a now visible Jotaro Kujo in stopped time with a steam roller. He knew what happened afterwards. "There's been a problem with this world and ours, and we think the problem might be spreading." DIO looked up curiously, staying attentive. "People of your world have been ending up here somehow. We've seen it a few times already, but only with the evilest of your kind. Some have even changed their form." "You mean there's a link between our worlds?" DIO suggested. "Yes. A dangerous one, but something that we don't understand. It brings the evilest of you here, restores you to your fullest point, and somehow presents circumstances to give you a redeeming chance, or so we've seen. Our science isn't advanced outside of magic and alchemy, we have little understanding of how this all works." "Why come to me now?" "You were asleep, I have more power to show you what I mean in your dreams. I have control over your dreams." She closed her eyes. "Tell me more about your mother." She opened her eyes. Immediately, the scene changed from DIO on the ground being taunted by Jotaro Kujo to several images of DIO's mother providing for him, voices from around telling him of how to get to heaven, and to be good, and to be strong. DIO sighed, letting his eyes shut as well while he pondered what to say. "She was the embodiment of human kindness," DIO said, "When she died, I felt happy for her, that she was spared of the rotten world I had to live in under that man who called himself my father." She listened to him as the scenes played in the background. "She told me the way to get to Heaven was by being a good person. By having good traits," DIO continued, "but I never believed it. I thought that Heaven would be attained by power." DIO took out a book, opening it. "This diary," he said, "has every step to achieving Oba Heabun." She saw the diary, skimming through it and realizing it's credibility. Even in the dream as it was depicted in pictures and symbols, the vividness was unreal, and incomprehensible in a divine way. "That is quite remarkable. . .what stopped you, may I ask?" "Jotaro Kujo," DIO answered. The scenes changed to the battles with the Stardust Crusaders. "All of the others were no match, but Jotaro was the one who stopped my goals. I wished to rid of their bloodline entirely, but they defeated me in that world." "When did they plan to bring you back?" DIO looked up at her with confusion. "Bring me back?" DIO asked. "Yes, from punishment or from wherever they may have banished you or imprisoned you?" She had a smile all this time, but started to frown as DIO continued. "I was killed," he said, "redemption doesn't exist in our world, only strength to persevere and kill before you are killed." "O-oh. . ." Luna said, her voice shakey. "I suppose some don't think they deserve redemption, do they? That dying would have been better for them?" "I do not know." DIO said. They were both silent for a moment. "I was once as evil as you were." Luna said, suddenly. DIO looked up. "What do you mean?" "I was jealous of my sister," Luna explained, "Whilst the people bathed in her sunlight and played in it, they rejected my night." DIO was silent. "I painted the sky for them every night, a new piece, placing the stars in new locations for them to see the night sky differently, but they always slept," Luna explained, "I thought I would take it myself, and I allowed power to consume me, becoming the evil known as Nightmare Moon. I was defeated by the Elements of Harmony, and banished to the moon for a millennium." "A millennium," DIO mused, "That's a long time to keep somebody alive." "Yes. . .but my sister kept me alive after defeating me and—" "Your own sister fought you and banished you? What kind of sibling is she?!" Luna silently thought. "I wish not to speak of it," she said quietly. "Hm." "For a thousand years, my stars remained still. I look up at them today and see an unfinished work, but I can no longer change them, as the ponies have pointed out countless constellations." She paused. "Still today, I do not think that punishment was enough, so I created the Tantabus. A creature that causes me to have the most treacherous nightmares when I sleep. I fear some day it might become more powerful than I, and escape my dreams, but that keeps me fighting and not giving up." "You already gave up," DIO said, grimly. "What do you mean?" Luna asked, a bit defensively. "It's not evil," DIO explained, "you have a purpose to bring the darkness to the world, it was necessary to provide a contrast from the light. How many other evils have you faced." "Many. . .Discord, Lord Tirek, King Sombra. . .and others." "There is balance, and turning you against your nature upset that balance," DIO explained, "You even forbade your nightly artwork for the sake of underlings. What would cause such a thing?" "The Elements of Harmony never fail. . ." Luna said, trying to reassure herself. "Of Harmony?!" DIO said, raising his voice. Luna cowered; even being in control of the dream, he was terrifying. "Let me tell you what the Elements of Harmony have done." Luna looked up at DIO, he stood tall, looking down at her with a stern and enraged expression as he continued. "The Elements of Harmony have been used to divide two sisters and assert the authority of the one who felt she was greater, they cause you to generate a monster to punish you by pure guilt, they caused you to live one thousand years of pain and agony in isolation, they caused evil to diversify itself, and worst of all, they caused a tyrant to be blindly beloved." "What do you mean?!" Luna lowered her ears at the word 'tyrant'. She didn't think of her sister that way. "Your sister rules by force, protected by militaries and constantly held at the top of the chain. She accepts no other power but her own, and is sure to destroy it and have her subjects see it as pure evil." Luna thought about these words, before DIO said three more words. "Even her sister." Luna held back tears as she realized what he was saying. He was right. Her sister really was a true evil. "I can bring you something greater than servitude under one who thinks that she is greater than you. Here, in our dreams, you musn't live in fear of her oppression, for even if her power is greater in person while you obey her, your power here is matchless. Even to me, who defeated her." Luna looked up, "Do you really think so?" DIO held out his hand. "I know so." "What is it now, Twilight. . ?" Rainbow Dash sighed as DIO was still asleep. It was 6 A.M. and she was not ready to wake up. However, her 'bestie' thought it was a good time to alert Dash of 'urgent news'. "Dash, I've been looking around the population and a pony has gone missing!" "How long?" "Fifteen hours!" Rainbow Dash facehoofed. "Ten hours Twilight? Seriously?" She shook her head. "No no no!" Twilight quickly said, grabbing her attention back. "This pony has a very strict schedule! Look! I can show you." Rainbow sighed, turning and walking up to her after stretching. "Sure." "Alright," Twilight opened a file folder with a lot of research and pictures, "Her name is Rose, she owns a flower shop. It's very local, and not a big business, but she keeps things very orderly. She wasn't seen there by some of her friends, and appears to have not been in her house. They can't find her anywhere!" "Maybe she wanted a break?" Rainbow suggested. Twilight shook her head. "No, she is the type to notify others," Twilight said. Rainbow started to believe her. "This might be linked to the new Stand user, and I don't think his Stand is revealed yet." "You might want to try and look into spells that reveal Stands Equestria-wide, then," Rainbow suggested. "It's not that simple." "It never is—" "Where is DIO? I'm sure he can help, he'd be able to see it," Twilight said, looking over at a snoozing DIO. "Oh." "He'll wake up soon." Rainbow Dash said. Twilight looked back at her documents. "I hope." "Wow, Kira! That's amazing! You really know how to make ponies vanish from the face of the planet!" Lyra said excitedly as Kira held the remaining hoof of another equine. Kira smiled. "Thanks to Killer Queen, I can do whatever I like." Kira pointed out. Lyra hugged up against him, before jumping back as she remembered some thing. "Ah! I remember, I got that spell for you!" She showed him a book with some spell information. "This one, along with some other spells that will help us stay incognito." "So I will look like that?" "Yep!" "Hm, alright." "I'll cast the spell, but first, you promised me something for baiting this mare~" Kira sighed lightly. "Yes, I suppose I did." He gently stroked her mane, she blushed lightly as he closed her eyes with pleasure. This was certainly a fantastic experience, and she was on her way to the most peaceful. . .and most satisfying life.
