Twilight Sparkle looked at the files of the ponies that she hoof picked to be part of her crew. Well, at least some of them were ponies, and some others weren't. For example, Rainbow Dash pulled that favour that Twilight owed her and therefore Twilight couldn't say no. Thanks to that favour Lightning Dust got a free ticket as well. Rainbow said, meh, why the heck not? Discord, Discord had a funny look when he heard that. However, he was pretty chill about it. Twilight still wasn't sure if it was a good idea to include him. Still, I'd he is going then Chrysalis is going to. Surprisingly Chrysalis is the only person that Discord listened to. That and Chrysalis was an extremely useful person, period. Next were Shining Armor and Moondancer, both of them insisted to go, and Shining said there is no way he would let her go, even if from his point of view Rainbow Dash is the only person that he trusted, her and Moondancer of course, and frankly he was gamma class mage shielder, and that makes him extremely valuable. Moondancer said that Twilight is going to need her people skills. Twilight wasn't completely sure if that statement were true or not.
Meanwhile, the train that they were on already had been moving at full speed, and already had been approaching its final destination. The small train station at the farthest point. In about next hour it will arrive.
"Do you want something, like maybe something to drink or to eat?"
Twilight focused her attention to the new arrival that's been standing in the corridor. "Right now I won't mind an extra hour of sleep, yeah that sounds like a good idea actually."
"Well, I suppose. Tell me what's on your mind?"
"Huh, you would have to explain that. I don't really get it."
"What I mean is, we are about to be part of history, by which I mean that you would be part of the history, not us simple commoners."
"Come on Rainbow you are making yourself look cheap."
"But it's true, we aren't going on some sort of vacation, otherwise you wouldn't even consider taking those two."

"Oh, you mean them? You know quite well that we can't take my personal fun squad, all two hundred and fifty of them."
"Yeah, probably."
"Probably? What do you mean probably?"
"Oh relax for a second will you!"
"I am relaxed, are you relaxed?" Twilight rolled her eyes.
"I assure you I am many things, I am a hot head, a person who lost her screws long time ago, but right now I am really really relaxed. The point is that we are trying to ha a casual conversation."
"Uh, sure you are. Rainbow what do you really want from me in the middle of the night?"
"Well Pinkie and I had been talking, and we discussed how far we could push the teen ratings. We talked and talked, and then I just suggested that we should go full throttle with no restrictions."
"Uh, so then a mature story then!"
"Yeah, now you getting it!" Rainbow moved closer to Twilight. "For example, we even rehearsed a steamy sex scene. But at the last moment Pinkie changed her mind, she said she is not ready."
"Does it starts something like this?" Twilight then leaned to Rainbow and then kissed her on the lips.
Rainbow returned it, "Now you starting to break the rules."
"Are you sure you don't want to convince Pinkie to make this fantasy happen?"
Rainbow Dash then smiled, "Absolutely positive, tell you what I let you sleep on my side, I promise it's going to be soft and comfy."
"Fine!" Twilight pouted, "I guess you win this one."
Ten minutes later Twilight had been soundly sleeping on the Rainbow's back, "Cadence, if I catch you one more time spiking other people drinks with the love potion, you are going to get it."
"Aw, spoilsport!" Cadence softly giggled. "I can only imagine what the furious Rainbow Dash is going to do to me! Think of this as payback for the wedding! Besides, you are kind of tied up right now."
"Why, aren't you the lucky one. Now, why don't you go back to your Prince Charming."
"Okay, you don't need to tell me what to do, I just about to do it anyway!" With that Princess, Cadence left the cabin. The train still has thirty minutes to its destination.
The train arrived at the station and then stopped, as per regulations it let out two short whistles, and burst of steam. The last one mainly not because was a steam train, but this particular model was fully electric, gaining its power from a small portable magic reactor, and the steam was a small price for the environment. It's not like it was any worse if they used coal or diesel to generate the magical reaction. Coal had small traces of radioactive material which had been a pretty good conductor for magic. Diesel has been great but it was still polluting. Steam from the direct fusion reactor was a clean alternative. There were about a dozen subroutines that carefully ensuring that the reactor has been functioning properly.
Twilight yawned and woked up, "Did we do anything last night?"
"No, Twilight, I assure you we didn't do anything frisky, and FYI It's only been like one hour."
"Well yes, I suppose! Rainbow, will you join me for a breakfast! I think others are waiting for us."
"I'll be glad too!"
"So what you can tell me, corporal." Twilight had been sitting in the tent right in the middle of tundra, just about few miles from the city.
"There is nothing to tell really, the city had been dormant for quite some time now Princess."
"And the mirror gate"
"Had been dormant too."
"So, can we activate it?Twilight really couldn't believe it that she needs it to say this. "Does anypony actually figure out where is the other end is?"
"We do have all the necessary equipment, we just didn't want to start without you."
Twilight sighed, "Okay, let's just get it over with!"
