The next day, lunchtime at CHS.
"You girls finished your homework assignments?" Twilight asked, as her joined her friends with her lunch.
The others all nodded, "Can you believe that Flash got his powers from being struck by lighting and falling into some chemicals?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"That seems like kinda of a stretch," Starlight commented.
"Supergirl was sent to our world when she was just a child," Fluttershy continued, "It's kind of overwhelming."
"Yeah," Applejack acknowledged, "like how Captain America was just an ordinary man until the Super Solider Serum."
"If all these heroes are so well known," Starlight said, "then why aren't any of them around?"
"That's what I've found out," Twilight interjected.
"What do you mean, Twi?" Applejack asked.
"I mean that I found the cause of why there aren't any superheroes around anymore," Twilight replied.
"How did you find out that?" Rainbow Dash questioned.
"Last night, I searched up Hal Jordan and I discovered that he was the reason that all superheroes were forced to step down," Twilight answered.
"How can you be so sure?" Rarity queried.
In response Twilight brought out her laptop and showed the girls a article from a website.
"Superheroes used to be common place," Twilight explained, "the government mostly overlooked all superhero activity, there were a few big battles, but they was ignored."
"Then what happened?" Sunset asked.
"The superhero battle started to get more and more out of control," Twilight continued, she pulled up some videos, "New York, Washington DC, Sokovia, Halle Airport and Metropolis."
The girls watched the videos of the battles in amazement.
"But then one of the heroes, Hal Jordan, went insane after two super villains completely destroyed his hometown of Coast City," Twilight carried on, "he left earth for a long time, but when he returned he had changed."
Underneath the article was a picture.
Twilight pointed to the picture, "he had renamed himself Parallax and had become a being of limitless power, he tried to destroy the earth, until The Justice Force managed to take him down."
To further her story Twilight pulled up another video clip, this one showing Parallax's showdown against The Justice Force.
"Ooo, that's got to leave a mark," Rainbow Dash remarked, as Parallax was blasted by Iron man's uni-beam attack.
The smoke from the blast cleared, Parallax wasn't even phased by the attack, "You'd think," Twilight said, grimly.
The rest of the video showed Parallax tossing heroes such as: Captain America, Wonder Woman, Sentry and Hawkman like rag-dolls.
"After that the government declared that all heroes were a threat to humanity," Twilight stated, when the video had ended.
"So, thats why we haven't seen or heard of The Justice Force until now," Sunset concluded, "because they were all forced to retire by the government."
"Right," Twilight nodded, "some heroes are still active, but they work for the government as a special taskforce."
"Wait," Fluttershy, interjected, "we have superpowers does that mean we're a threat too?"
A hush fell over the girls, all of them in deep thought about what they discussed.
The thoughts of the girls, were interrupted when a teenage girl walked up to the girls lunch table.
"Any of these seats taken?" the girl asked, gesturing to the empty seats on the girls the table.
"Not at all," Sunset replied.
The girl sat down at the table and started eating her lunch, "You new to CHS?" Applejack asked.
The girl nodded, "Just started today, I transferred from Jersey City," she replied.
"Well," Rarity said, "let me and my friends be the first to welcome you to Canterlot High."
"Thanks," the girl smiled, "I'm Kamala Khan, by the way."
After they had finished their lunch, the girls headed to their classes.
CHS, the Soccer pitch.
"Well, lookie what we got here," Spitfire, captain of CHS's soccer team, declared, "we got a lot of newbies, here."
"Bet y'all think you're Wondercolt material, don't ya?" she continued, looking over the new students.
"Yes, ma'am!" All the new students responded.
"Well then. Let me be the first to tell you..." Spitfire carried on, "You don't! If you had what it took to be on the team, you'd already be a Wondercolt! Still think you're something special?"
"No, ma'am," the students answered.
"Yes, ma'am," answered, a voice.
"Who said that?!" Spitfire demanded.
"I did ma'am," the owner of the voice replied.
"Alright, looks like we've got hotshot here," Spitfire said, looking the student dead in the eyes, "What's your name, newbie?" she barked.
"Pietro Maximoff, ma'am," the student replied.
"You think you got what it takes to be the best of the best?" Spitfire asked.
"If you give me a chance, I'll prove I am, ma'am," Pietro replied.
"You want a chance to prove yourself, huh?" questioned Spitfire.
"Yes, ma'am," Pietro answered.
"Well then, now's your chance," Spitfire responded, looking over her aviators.
She turned to Rainbow Dash, who was standing with the Wondercolts team, "Rainbow," she ordered, "since you're the top player, show this newbie how its done."
Rainbow Dash nodded, taking up a position at one of the goals on the pitch, "Don't think I'm going to go easy on just because your a newbie," she smiled.
"Don't, it wouldn't be fun," Pietro replied.
He started dribbling the ball towards Rainbow Dash, she readied herself to tackle.
But, before she could tackle the ball from him, but Pietro seemed to move faster then she could react.
In mere seconds Pietro had manoeuvred around Rainbow Dash and scored a goal.
Spitfire, The Wondercolts team and the new students all stared as Pietro proceeded to scored goal after goal.
When he finished Pietro turned to face the stunned students and Spitfire, "What, you didn't see that coming?" he asked.
Elsewhere
Sunset and Twilight were on their way to their next class. When they noticed a teenage girl being harassed by some bullies.
"Mutant! Freak!" the bullies jeered.
Suddenly, the girl got angry and two blades sprang from the back of her hands. The bullies, backed away from the girl as she advanced on.
"Now, you punks are going to get it now," the girl growled, "now you've got me angry!"
She raised her claws, the bullies ran terrified.
"STOP!" Sunset cried, running up to the girl.
The girl froze, her claws retracting, "what happened?" she asked.
"You were going to attack them!" Twilight answered.
"I'm so sorry," the girl said.
With tears in her eyes, the girl ran off down the hallway.
Ryker's island.
The Dazzlings matched down the hallways of the prison
"Ok, you three," the prison warden said, as he followed behind them, "you'll find that this place works differently than Arkham Asylum."
Adagio, Aria and Sonata didn't answer, in a few minutes they arrived at The Dazzling's cell.
"Try and get along with your cellmates," the warden finished, as he closed the door to the cell.
"This is just great," Adagio fumed, "we've gone from one prison to the next."
"I have to agree," Aria replied, "how could this get any worst?"
"I don't know," Sonata, commented, "I think that some of the people at Arkham were nice."
"Because they were stupid like you," Aria retorted.
Sonata turned to her fellow siren, angry at her comment.
"Are you two done?" a voice asked, before Aria and Sonata could continue their argument.
All three turned to see one of their cellmates, Adrian Toomes a.k.a. Vulture.
"You three must be new to Ryker's," he continued,
Adrian was followed by The Dazzling's second cellmate, Arthur Parks a.k.a. Living Laser, "Don't worry in a few minutes we're busting out of this joint," Laser finished.
"And how are we going to do that?" Adagio asked.
"Word around the prison is," Adrain replied, "someone on the outside, is breaking us out."
Elsewhere
"I've finally done it," Noah Kuttler a.k.a. Calculator smiled, as his finger danced over his computer keyboards.
After a few more minutes of typing, Calculator finished hacking into the security systems of all the supervillain prisons.
"Time to cause some chaos," he smiled.
He pressed the final key on his keyboard, "now it begins," he said.
