//------------------------------// // Prolouge // Story: A Displaced Chaos // by Prince_Zodiac //------------------------------// Prolouge Here it was. The prison. His prison. It housed no one but him. And that was its purpose. It wasn't meant to contain a lot of people. It was meant to contain him, and him alone. She wasn't sure why she was here again. She wasn't sure why she was ever here. She should have just sealed him away and been done with it, but she couldn't help but come back. Maybe it was because she pitied him. Maybe it was because she hated that she did what she had to do. “You're here again?” he asked, but his voice held no element of surprise. He knew she had been there for a while now. He knew why she constantly returned. “Come to gloat?” “No.” “Then why come here?” “To make sure you never escape.” “Escape? Really? Is that really why you're here? This prison is inescapable as long as I don't have the key. You have no reason to believe I'm going to be free any time soon.” “I have reason to believe because they’ve decided to help you.” “Ah, you mean those creatures? Yes, they are quite useful aren't they?” “They are a plague on existence.” “They are a necessity to balance. With so much life out there, there has to be something dedicated to death.” She glared at his prison. She had loved him once, but she did not love what he had become. This monster that he had turned himself into, now commanding a race of beasts just as destructive and bloodthirsty as he was. “I pity you, you and your hateful actions.” “Pity me? Ha! You do not pity me, sister. If you did, you would set me free. No, you fear me, and you're simply trying to face your fear.” She didn't want to accept it, but he was right. She did fear him, and no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't face him.
