//------------------------------// // Aftermath // Story: Eclipse // by Twilight Connor //------------------------------// Day breaker surveyed her kingdom. It was primarily oranges and yellow as far as the eye could see. The only exception were the small stone houses her remaining subjects had long since abandoned in favor of moving underground, and what was left of the Everfree castle. Daybreaker's personal castle was all solidified flames held in place in her own magic. It was tough to keep it solid, but with the sun never having to be moved, she could manage, with enough magic left to shoot a couple hundred beams, in case a subject dared to oppose their rightful ruler. She never could figure out why her subjects would even want to kill her. Did they not know what laid, waiting for if the moon rose? Did they not realize that killing her would harm more than help? She had crushed the changelings beneath her hooves. She had destroyed Discord, while he was still a helpless statue. She had obliterated Tirek. Nightmare Moon was nothing but a flea in comparison. She had been whisked to the moon, banished to her own source of power. Oh the irony! Daybreaker continued her daily survey of the remnants of Equestria. Oh? There were six specks in the distance. What did they plan on doing? Whatever it was, there was no point to it. Half an hour later, they were at her doorstep. How did they plan to enter? Daybreaker's magic would not contain heat. But then, a great surprise occurred. They layed out twenty four runes, four for each pony. Each pony, two from every race, stood on four runes, each one of their hooves on a rune. A bright flash of magic eminated from the lead unicorn, a deep blue mare. The same blast of magic came from every other pony, each one of them giving off a blast, every one of the blasts a different color. The waves of color ceased, and in the ponies place was an alicorn, grey with a vibrant rainbow mane. She stepped into the castle unhindered. Daybreaker instantly rushed to the armoury. When she reached the armoury, Daybreaker immediately put on her most protective armour, versus her current decorative regalia. She considered the weapons, chose a spear, an enchanted magic boosting ring, and a few small blades, of various shapes and sizes. Teleporting to the throne room, she sat in the gold throne, and waited for the mystery alicorn. When the other alicorn arrived, only armour being a small, thin breastplate, studded with six oddly familiar gems. Her wings, unhindered by any armour, spread wide. She lifted a scroll with her oddly colorless magic, and began to read. "I am Harmony. I am the embodiment of the elements of harmony, and as such, demand order. You, the corrupted alicorn known as Daybreaker, shall be cleansed." Harmony rolled up the scroll, and tossed it at a wall, only for it to instantly desinigrate. Harmony fed her magic into the odd silver breastplate she was wearing. As magic flowed through the gems, Daybreaker rushed to prepare an adequate shield. She succeeded for the most part, but as the beam splashed over the shield, some of it hit her horn. Daybreaker's magic flickered, just a bit, but she was too late. Harmony sent another blast at the white alicorn's horn. It was a direct hit, and now it was Just Harmony In play. She raised her horn, and as the firey castle fell apart, Harmony rose the moon. With little else to do, Daybreaker looked at the moon. There was... Nothing on it? Filled with confusion at the lack of her sister's likeness, Daybreaker almost missed Harmony speak. "Now, break your silence. Nightmare Moon shall return when her moon covers your sun." The two alicorn sat for a short while. Harmony stood, and pushed the moon a good bit further, almost touching the sun. Then without any warning, the moon started to move of it's own accord, covering the sun entirely. The whole world flashed white for a brief moment, the empty expance of grey on the moon changed to a depiction of a tree. A small figure flew straight at Daybreaker and Harmony, yelling. "How dare you find another alicorn to replace ME as your rival?!? I was supposed to be your mortal nemesis, and THIS is how you treat me?!?.?!!?!l!?!??" The now obviously Nightmare moon shaped figure barreled towards the ground, preparing to tackle them both. Daybreaker's mouth opened wide, jaw dropping low. Harmony was in a similar state. By the time Nightmare Moon had reached them, Harmony had almost recovered. Then she saw Nightmare Moon's face. Bwah? Daybreaker- no, Celestia, burst into laughter. By this point, all had fallen to chaos. Luna was falling out of the sky, half conscious from lack of breath, Celestia, in a similar state was trying her best to breathe, but was constantly on the verge of failure. Harmony was gone, in her place were the six ponies that originally formed her. Each and every pony in the nearby vicinity laughing till they couldn't breathe, almost unconscious from lack of oxegen, and with Luna sleep falling. Somehow, after all the ponies, divine or otherwise, had passed out for a few hours, they all woke up light-headed, in desperate need of alcohol, but all of Celestia's beer had been burnt and evaporated when her palace collapsed. Celestia made mental note to never make a house out of an element, and then store alcohol in it. As an odd reminder of this, an explosion signaled in the distance. Luna laughed, and then suggested a bar she had made on the moon. A thousand years really ages wine well. Celestia set the sun so they could teleport to the moon to get drunk, high, and probably laid. Out of nowhere, ponies popped up out of tunnels and caves, and immediately started to set up farms. Celestia, Luna, and six unnamed undescribed ponies teleported to the moon, and when they got to the bar, there was cheese.
