Fake Dragon

by Sliver Swirl

Fight or Flight

Spike walked up the steps and onto the stage and took his spot next to Twilight, he smiled. He was helping Twilight and that's all he wanted to do and if helping her meant he had to face a crowd of ponies he would do it any day of the week and weekend.

He looked towards the crowd and wondered why this mattered to his mother. Spike couldn't understand why Twilight would want to share her life, knowledge and experiences with ponies who didn’t deserve it. Spike forced himself to care, no matter his true opinions were.

Spike knew that this presentation was an assignment by Princess Celestia and every task that was set by the Princess was very important to Twilight.

He looked towards the crowd and saw only nobility, they were in Canterlot after all, but Spike knew not a single pony had come to support Twilight. They had come to support Princess Celestia's student.

"Do we have any questions?" Twilight said, finishing her speech. These words captured Spike's attention, he had been daydreaming for a majority of a speech and had stopped paying attention. He was a baby dragon, as his Mum constantly reminded him, and the theory of magic was boring.

Twilight took off her glasses and moving to the very centre of the stage, awaiting for a pony to ask a question. Within minutes the first pony raised their hoof, he was a sandy unicorn who was wearing a posh jacket and a black tie. "Yes." Twilight said, pointing to the unicorn.

"You claim to have brought this dragon to life, but why is such an accomplishment for you. This dragon doesn't even have his wings or any real special qualities. If you could something back to life, why not somepony useful like my uncle who was a duke." The unicorn said, ponies around him immediately agree.

"Yeah! My grandmother was a member of the Council why didn't you bring her back!"

"My father owned the biggest farming lands in Equestria. Why did you not bring him back!"

"My Aunty was a diplomat!"

"My Brother was a Noble!"

The Ponies in the crowd all began screaming, why did Twilight bring back one useless dragon when she could have brought back their high class relatives who contributed to society.

Spike wanted to run off stage because of what they saying. It made a single thought replay through his mind, did he really deserve to exist or should some other creature/pony be standing where he was. But it didn't matter at the moment, all that matter was they were blaming deaths on his mum and was making her uncomfortable. He knew because once the accusations began, Twilight started shaking and muttering.

He ran in front of her and hugged her, he would always defend his mum. When she could not defend herself. Spike felt her return his hug and he felt her silent message she convended, everything would be okay.

Spike pressed his face into her fur and felt her begin to move. He was glad they were leaving. But suddenly Twilight stopped moving and Spike lifted his face to see what was wrong.

He saw the sandy unicorn, who had started the accusations, blocking their path."Why does he get to come back to life. But our families don't." He said, pointing his hoof at Spike causing the crowd to go even more wild. "He shouldn't even be here." After saying this the sandy unicorn lit his golden magic and attempted to drag him away from Twilight. Unfortunately for him, Twilight was one of the best magicians of her age and also lit her magenta magic and locked on Spike. This unicorn had no chance.

Spike tried to scratch at the unicorn and defend himself and Twilight but he could not reach. He wished he bigger and stronger, like a real dragon.

The Tug of War continued until Spike was lifted out of the sandy unicorns magical grasp by Twilight's superior magical ability. He was glad to be free, the unicorns magic felt slimy, despicable and rotten. Spike was glad to now be wrapped in Twilight's hooves, feeling safe and protected.

He lifted his head for a moment out of his mothers comfortable fur, to breathe, and saw the sandy coloured unicorn charging towards them. Spike screamed, which caused Twilight to look, but she did nothing except lift her son into the air using her magic.

Spike was forced to watch his mother be run through with another unicorns horn, unable to help her. He watched as Twilight immediately dropped to the ground and the lack of magic caused Spike to drop as well. Once he was on the floor, everything hurt but Spike still crawled towards his injured mother and tried to stop the bleeding, why was this happening. He thought, why Twilight.

Spike pulled out one of his scales to cover up the spot and stop the bleeding. But there was so much blood.

The sandy unicorn did not seem to care and used his flithy magic to lift up the baby dragon. Spike tried to scratch him but he was too short, "Remember this Dragon, my name is Sandy but once I am done with you they will call me Dragon Slayer." Sandy said, his voice was oily and filled with hate.

Spike did not care what happened to himself. Of course he was scared but he promised himself he would protect Twilight. This Sandy had already had hurt her once and Spike was scared he would attack Twilight again in her defendless state. Sandy appeared to have sensed this and also lifted Twilights injured body to the roof, which caused her to bleed more, and spoke, "this is what happens to those who disobey us, the nobility. The betters of everypony."

He laughed and laughed, as if he was hilarious. Spike could do nothing, he couldn't even protect Twilight. Maybe the unicorn was right, maybe Spike wasn't worth it.

"Your wrong." A weak voice said, it was Twilight. "Even if this is what you would do to me, even if you tortured me and then killed me. I would still chose Spike everytime over a bunch of stuck up ponies who harm others for fun."

Spike felt his anger grow as Twilight was dropped to the ground, not gentle at all. He watched as Sandy stepped on her and attacked her in front of the crowd. The crowd did nothing to help him or Twilight so as far as he was concerned they were all guilty.

Spike used all the anger he had, and aimed it towards the unicorn. He felt the anger turn into flames in his stomach that moved up his small body until they reached his lungs. Spike could feel the flames and he lost himself, he let loose all the flames that he could conjure onto Sandy.

Spike felt joy, he could finally use magic. He could finally breathe fire. But that joy was quickly lost and was replaced with anger. This anger was stronger and turned into fire quicker, which Spike quickly unleashed.

Spike did not pay attention to the unicorn after he unleashed that rage. But it was not enough, everypony here had hurt Twilight. He aimed his flames towards the roof next which caused everypony to run and scream leaving Spike with the screams of a burning unicorn and his mother.

Spike watched as red flames burnt his body and destoryed the building but he did not care. All he cared about was Twilight, who was lying on the floor bleeding, because of that unicorn. Spike left Sandy in the theatre and he carried Twilight's body outside, where she would be safe and waited until the medical ponies arrived.

He heard the sirens approached and lifted Twilight, the medic ponies had finally arrived. Spike could barely see them because of how dark it had become, he felt the anger return. Why had the medic ponies been so late, his mother could have died while they were taking their time.

Spike reluctantly handed Twilight over and entered the ambulance. Nopony tried to stop him. Once they both arrived at the hospital, he was pushed out of the room and awaited the doctors response. Spike couldn't help but notice he was the only creature here and nopony else had shown up.

The Hopsital that the medic ponies had taken Twilight to was the best in Cantetlot. Which he expected Twilight would be sent to, she was after all the closet thing Princess Celestia had for a daughter.

Clunk, the door went as the doctor opened it using his magic, the doctor was a grey stallion with a black mane and he was wearing a white coat. Spike immediately jumped into action and ran towards the doctor.

"Are you a member of her family?" The doctor asked, ignoring the fact that Spike was a dragon.

"I am her adopted son, how is she?" Spike asked.

"I see, My name is Doctor Grease Hoof and I am Ms Sparkles doctor. Ms Sparkle will be fine, the horn fortunately did not go through anything too important. A few of her bones were broken and she lots of alot of blood. She needs lots of rest. I will assign a nurse to take care of her and in the weeks that follow she may need a caretaker. I will try to get in contact with another family member to take care of you and Ms Sparkle." The doctor said, signing a few documents with his quill. As he walked off, Spike made a mental note to remember the doctor's name just in case Twilight needed further help. He also made another mental note to read lots of medical books do he could help Twilight.

After the doctor left, Spike immediately went into Twilights room and made sure she was okay. Spike sat next to her on the hospital bed and watched over her and watched every pony who entered with a careful eye. A pony had did this to her, so as far as Spike was aware ponies could not be trusted. He didn't even trust Princess Celestia, who was supposed to protect Twilight and Spike but had failed for both.

The more Spike thought about it, the more angry he became. It was Princess Celestia who gad organised the speech, without Princess Celestia there would be no speech and no injured Twilight.

Spike tried to let go of his anger, he didn't want to start a fire while Twilight was trying to rest. He sat their patiently and waited, hopefully Twilight would wake up soon.

Many hours passed, and it was finally sunrise. He knew this because he could see outside the window, next to Twilights bed. However, Spike had pulled the curtain over the window so Twilight needed to not be distrubed. Spike was tired but he didn't want Twilight to be alone when she woke up. He didn't want to abandon her, as no other pony had shown up yet.

Spike would just shut his eyes for a few seconds and then Spike would continue to wait for Twilight.

Just a few minutes......

When Twilight did awake, Spike was asleep. But when he woke, he saw Twilight smiling and talking. Spike was overjoyed and sat up immediately so he could hug her until he saw who she was talking to.

"Twilight, why are you talking to the Princess. You should be getting your rest." He said sternly and tried to hide his anger. He was angry since the Princess had failed and Spike was trying to be stern so he could be taking care of Twilight. Spike wouldn't leave her care to anyone else, especially the unrealible Princess.

"I'm fine, Spike." Twilight said smiling brightly. Spike wanted to yell, Twilight had almost died, of course she wasn't fine.

He was going to voice his opinions but then, before he could his mouth the Princess began talking. "Actually Spike, I was wondering if I might have a word with Twilight alone."

Spike did not want to leave his mother alone with the Princess, anything could happen and if something did happen Spike wouldn't be there to protect her like he had before with his flames.

"I'll be fine Spike, could you please get me a bag of oats while you're out there." Twilight said.

"On it." Spike said, he didn't want Twilight to go hungry so he would get her the finest oats. Because his Mum deserved the best, because she was the best mum in the world.

Twilight ate the hospital oats that had been given to her, during her stay. They tasted awful and they looked awful. Who ever said, hospital oats were good either worked for the hospital or had lost their taste buds.

"Now Twilight, I wanted to talk to you about Spike." The Princess said, from her chair next to Twilights bed.

"What about Spike?" She asked, mouth full of oats.

"I'm worried him and his development. Equestria has never had a dragon raised by a pony and one of my scientists stated that it may be hurting him. Which may have caused him to lash out today."

Twilight could not believe what she was hearing, was she really hurting Spike?
"How?" She asked, maybe it was his diet or his rountine that was effecting his development and not her.

Princess Celestia stood up and walked towards the door, she opened it and outside there was a green pony with a yellow mane. She bowed towards both Twilight and the Princess.

"I am Doctor Seaweed Sun, and as the Princess was saying. I believe that dragons just weren't meant to be raised here. Our gems are different, we don't even know what to do with him. Ponies are also scared of him, he burnt down an entire building Miss Twilight."

"How bad was it? What do you want me to do?" Twilight asked, afraid of the answer.

"Everypony was fine except for a one pony, Sandy Darling. He will recover, eventually. Now I will let the doctor explain the rest to you."

"Thank you Princess, I have a few different ideas, we could build a containment unit and study him. Try to figure out what he nee-"

"Are you saying you want to put my son in a cage." Twilight asked, ready to roast the doctor, literally.

"This is only one option, another is that for his own safety and another is we could magically change his flames to make them non-lethal. It would be a simple process and then his magic would be green instead of red. There will even be the possibility that his fire magic may be red again, with age. But it will always be non-lethal." The doctor, said.

"What is the next option?" Twilight asked.

"We could return him to the dragons. He would be raised with his own kind." The doctor said.

"What if, I choose none of these options." Twilight asked.

"I'm afraid you must chose one option. The ponies are rioting, Sandy Darling is quite popular among the nobility and he was badly injured. They want justice and this is the compromised list they was agreed on." Princess said.

Twilight didn't want to do any of these options, for they would all hurt Spike. But what could she do, Twilight wasn't even an adult yet.

"You have three days to decide Twilight, if you do not do this will be taken to the council. Who will vote on it, which would be a terrble course of action. Many members on the council are friends of Lord Sandy Darling. Spike will not have his best interest looked after if, you let them decide."

Twilight was lost, what could she do. All three options were awful but the most humane one would be to send Spike back but she didn't want to lose him. He was her son, no matter what anypony said.

Twilight decided to wait, and think. She politely asked both ponies to leave her to rest. Which they both did, with a promise they would be back later.

Twilight waited until Spike returned, which she hoped was soon. She had a plan but it would only work if they left quickly.

Spike walked towards Twilights room with a massive bag on his back. He had collected many different types of oats, because his Mum might not like some.

After leaving Twilight's room, Spike immediately went to the cafeteria and tried the oats to see if they were good enough for Twilight. They tasted awful, it was like swallowing gloo that was made by a foal. It was not good enough for Twilight, so he searched the town for oats.

He had been to the market, the supermarket and the Castles personal supply and had grabbed different types of oats from all of the places. Spike was happy with the amount he had collected and he hoped Twilight would enjoy them.

He knocked on Twilights door and waited for her response, he didn't want to interupt her.

"Come in." Twilight said, from the inside.

Spike quickly entered and saw Twilight still lying in the hospital bed in the exact same position. Except she was now reading a book, it appeared to be on Healing.

"Whatcha reading?" Spike asked as he sat on the bed, next to Twilight. Placing the massive bags of oats beside him.

"The Art of Healing by Doctor Cinnamoo. It is a book about using your magic to heal and mend." Twilight answered, not even taking her eyes of the page.

Spike had never heard of a book like that, "I got your oats." He said, proudly. Lifting the heavy bag of oats.

Twilight stopped reading and finally looked at him, she used her magic to open a bag. "Thank you, Spike." Twilight said, digging in.

"You, this book is so interesting. It mentions that taking a vacation can heal your body quicker. So I was thinking want to go on vacation, Spike?" Twilight asked, with her mouth full.

Spike was unsure of what to say, he had never left his home and he was not sure. He wanted to, but he did want Twilight to get better quicker. He nodded his head and watched Twilight broke out into an immediate grin.

"Great! Then lets go." Twilight said, abandoning the oats she was eating and jumping out the hospital bed.

"Wait! Twilight you nearly died, at least bring a nurse with us." Spike protested, trying to stop the injured unicorn.

"Spike, this will be both a relaxing way for me to heal and a great way for us to spend time together. It's perfect." Twilight said, convincingly.

Spike felt like it was fishy, but he wanted Twilight to get better so much and he wanted to spend family time with her. That he would have agreed to anything. He nodded again and helped Twilight into a wheelchair.

After the hospital, Twilight and Spike had raced to the castle and they went straight to there room and they each packed their own bag.

"Why do we need to rush Twilight, I thought this was suppose to be relaxing."

"I want to catch the next train Spike, I promise the vacation will be relaxing."

Spike decided he wanted to pack; his entire gem collection, so that he could have food that he enjoyed restuarants rarely had gemstones on the menu; He also packed a pony plushie of a dragon, Twilight had brought it from him when he was first hatched; and the final thing he packed was his favourite comics.

He was ready much quicker then Twilight, once she had finished packing, their home looked much empier. But Spike didn't ask, he already knew that Twilight was an overpacker.

Once they were both packed, they ran to the train station. Where they purchased their tickets and now they were just waiting for the train to arrive.

The train that they were boarding was taking a long time. Twilight had suggested they take a train deep into the mountains and stay a hotel there.

Spike didn't really care where they went as long as Twilight was relaxed. He had her checklist in his claw and was beginning to tick items off while they waited.

Wait, what. Did Twilight want to tell him something important during this vacation. Should he ask her and tell her she can tell him anything.

"Umm.....Twilight, do you want to tell me something?" He asked, pointing to the checklist.

"Ummm....Welll....Spike look there's the train." Twilight said, lifting everything ,including Spike, and began pushing her wheelchair using her magic.

"Twilight, would you put me down. You shouldn't be straining yourself." Spike said, trying to break free of Twilights magical field.

Before they boarded the train, they left their luggage in the designated area. Spike had never done this before but Twilight had assured him. They would place it on the train for them.

They made it on the train and took their seats. They were in a high class section and it had a special spot for Twilight, where she could wheel her wheel chair in and strap it to the train.

Inside the train was very empty, which made Spike confused. Twilight had told him that the mountains were very popular and that they were lucky to get tickets for the train.

But Spike only saw one other passager on the same carriage as them. The passage was a white unicorn and was wearing a long coat and a hat. This made it difficult for Spike to see the stallions mane and cutie mark.

Spike was uncomfortable with another unicorn being close to them. A unicorn was the reason Twilight was injured in the first place. He felt the feeling of rage in his lungs again, it was burning and it made Spike want to release it on the unicorn to protect Twilight. He looked towards his mum, who was reading one of the numerous books, she wouldn't notice if Spike attacked the enemy.

But instead he lifted the arm of the chair, he crawled out and went to her wheelchair and curled up into her side. He felt like he was becoming monster, and the worst was he would have done it. As long as he felt he wouldn't be caught.

He closed his eyes, so that she might not see the tears in his eyes from his relevation. He heard her close the book but he did not do anything.

"Spike what's wrong?" Twilight asked, and Spije her wrap her hoof around his body bringing her closer. He began softly crying into her coat, and used her purple coat to absorb the tears.

"I attacked that unicorn who attacked us and I would do it again. Does that make me a monster?." Spike asked, opening his eyes for a brief second before squeezing them shut. He did not want to look in the eye, when she realised her son, a dragon, was a monster.

"Spike, you are not a monster. You're a hero, a monster attacks without reason but you were defending me."

"That doesn't make me a hero." Spike argued, opening his eyes and letting his tears run freely.

"Yes it does, because heroes stop monsters like Sandy Darling not matter what and protect the innocent." Twilight said, using her hoof to wipe so of the tears off Spikes face.

"Really?" Spike asked.

"Yes, of course. Now I think you deserve a ruby, I packed some in my saddlebag as a special treat. Just let me go ask a staff member to get it for me." Twilight said, removing Spike from her body and unstrapping her wheelchair.

"I'll be right back." Twilight said, giving Spike a kiss on the forehead.

Spike was so excited, he was a hero not a monster. He was like the ponies and dragons in his comics, always there to save his loved ones. Twilight was also getting him a gem, and he hadn't eaten a gem in ages.

"AHHHHHHH" Spike heard somepony scream. It was Twilight. He leaped off his chair and ran towards the door that Twilight had entered.

"Twilight." He yelled, the moment he entered. Spike saw a tied up Twilight next to the other passage, the white unicorn. The passenger that he was worried about, Spike felt hot and warm in his lungs.

"Spike, it's okay. They're not going to hurt me. This is Shiny, you remember Shining Armor." Twilight said, trying to keep everypony calm.

The white unicorn removed his pieces of clothing and revealed himself. It was Shining Armor, Spike knew because the unicorn had the same mane and cutie mark as Twilights brother. But why would Twilights brother ponynapp her.

Or was this also like in his comics were the elder sibling gets jealous of the younger sibling and tries to ruin the younger siblings life. Shining had given him that feeling before as well.

"Release me, or I will release myself." Twilight said, lighting her horn with her magenta magic to prove her point. Spike felt so useless and angry, he knew that Shining was the enemy and he could do nothing to stop him.

Luckily for everypony, Shining Armor did release Twilight and she immediately wheeled next to Spike. Who restrained himself from hugging her so he could focus on the enemy.

"Twily, wait. You can't run away, the Princess already knows what you plans to do and has taken over this train. It is filled with guards all tasked with bringing you back. If you fight, you will lose."

"Then why are you here, they could have just ponynapped us without you surely." Twilight said, standing her ground against her brother.

"Because they thought that you might believe and trust your brother. Please Twily come back home." Shining Armor said, begging his sister.

"Never!" Twilight said firmly. Once Twilight had finished those words, she immediately collapsed in her chair. Spike tried to stop Shining Armor but he could nothing but watch as Shining Armor caught Twilight using his magic and placed her on his back.

"I'm sorry." Shining Amor said, but whether it was to Spike or Twilight. He did not know.

"Please, don't take her. I'll give you anything, I'll even not eat gems forever. Just give me my mum." Spike cried, to the stallion as he cried on the floor.

"I'm sorry Spike, but this is your fault their was another option. But you refused to take it, Equestria can't lose an asset as valuable as Twilight." Shining Armor said, walking away.

"Wait! What other option, I'll do anything." Spike said, still begging.

"Are you saying you don't know, I thought Twily would have told you." Shining said.

"I don't care what you think, just tell me." Spike said.

"After setting fire to a high class citizen like Sandy Darling. A majority of the nobility demanded that you be put away forever because you were clearly dangerous. The Princess had to calm her ponies, so she made an compromise. Twilight would be presented with three options; the first to be kept in an facility where you would be taken care of; the second a magical change to yourself which is where your dragon magic that produced fire would be made non-lethal; and the third you would be taken out of Canterlot and would be given to the dragons. Twily was given three days but she didn't like any of the options so the Princess supspected she might run away." Shining Armor.

"Wait, so Twilight and the Princess just had this conversation today which means there is still time."

"True, but....."

"Take me with you and then take me to the council. I will tell them my descision." Spike said.

"I will help you for Twily." Shining Armor said, "I will take you back to Canterlot and help you with the Council."

Spike felt gratful that Shining Armor was agreeing to help him. They both left and made their way back to Canterlot.

Th Council was made up of 15 noble ponies, each were in charge of something different such as building, food, the economy etc. It was their duty to make sure that everything was going perfectly and to if there was a problem. The Council was in charge of finding a solution.

Princess Celestia was in charge of the Council and every decision must have her stamp of approval before it can be set in motion. Or they could conteract the Princess decision if they created a peition and it gained enough support.

This was its original purpose but over the years it was just a place for nobels to have Canterlot changed for what they wanted.

Shining Armor had briefed Spike on everything before walking in. He wanted Spike to be prepared and despite everything Shining Armor had told him. He still felt nervous and unprepared, but he was going to do it because it was for Twilight.

Spike took a deep breathe and began a mantra, this is all for mum. He was now ready to enter the Council.

The Inside was very different then Spike expected. There were two rows of chairs, each connected to a long table and there was a high table at the very back of the room.

This high table seemed to only have chairs for five ponies, and the middle chair was a throne. This didn't make any sense to Spike why did some ponies sit higher then others.

Shinging Armor had told him that not every Council member attended every meeting and that only the most important cases were overseen by the big five. These ponies who sat on the high table were often referred to as the star, because of how brightly they shined.

Spike saw that every chair was filled, including the table at the back. He felt sweat drip down off his forehead, he had a bad feeling about this. He stood there for the next few minutes ignoring the Council, they were terrifying.

"Please get on with it." A rude nobel yelled.

Spike pulled his tail in front of him, he wanted to suck his spine as well. But he couldn't, he had to act like an adult.

"Umm......My name is Spike and umm...." Spike froze again, all the ponies were glaring at him. He shook his head, he couldn't pay attention to what they were doing. He had to focus on why he was doing this, he was here for Twilight, this was for his mother. Spike wasn't here for these ponies, they didn't matter. Whatever problem they had with him was their problem. Spike liked this newfound confidence he had gained. He took a deep breathe and continued, "My name is Spike and I am here to present my decision, I will change my magic and never betray Equestria as long as you never seperate me from Twilight Sparkle, my mother." Spike said.

He was very glad that he had read all those books on law. Twilight was often apart of Court sessions and needed to make sure she was following Equestrias laws.

Spike waited for them to make their decision. A single pony with a familiar shade of yellow from the upper table stood up, "I refuse to accept! This creature hurt my brother, he is a monster! Why should we trust him? He could easily break his word."

The old Spike would have curled into a ball. But this new Spike knew he wasn't a monster, he was a hero. A hero who had defended his mother from a villian. He was about to voice the truth, but another pony beat him to it.

"Let us be reminded what type of pony Ms Sparkle was and then let us remember what type of pony your brother was, hmm. Does this Council really believe her to be capable of raising a monster, and if you dear Dust believe Ms Sparkle capable of this. I wonder what you think of the pony who raised her. Do you believe that pony to be a monster as well." A pony said, Spike looked towards the voice. He wanted to know the pony who had stood up for Twilight.

He was a tall white unicorn with a blue mane. Whom was in a upper seat, he was dressed in a fancy suit.

"I mean Ms Sparkle no disrespect but she was quite strange, and her mother can show those signs as well. Prehaps we should arrange for them all to be examined my Canterlots finest. We should also ban the possibility of them ever becoming mothers again. They obviously aren't cut out for it and we do not need a powerful unicorn betraying us, again."

"I wasn't referring to Ms Sparkles birth mother. I was referring to Princess Celestia, unless Lady Dust has forgotten that Ms Sparkle was brought to the castle at a very young age and still needed a paternal figure."

The whole Council said nothing and the pony who had stood up, Lady Dust, had taken a seat and all the support she once had disappeared. Nopony would disrespect the Princess. Spike looked towards the Princess and saw her smiling, looking amused.

"Of course, Lord Fancypants. I had forgotten who had raised delightful Ms Sparkle, of course we should accept her 'sons' request." Lady Dust said, shining a fake smile in Spike direction. Many of the other ponies all started nodding and agreeing with Lady Dust.

"Now that we have accepted Mr Spikes request, let us begin the process. Are you sure you wish to do this old chap, there is no going back after this." Fancypants said.

Spike nodded, not trusting his voice. He had to do this for Twilight. He would sacrifice anything for her.

"Then let us begin. All those not assisting, leave." Princess Celestia said, flaring her wings. Everypony left, exluding a few medical ponies, the upper table ponies and Princess Celestia.

It was time to begin, and Spike prepared himself.

Spike did not remember what happened next, all he remembered was pain and joy. They would never be able to seperate him from Twilight, ever again.

After the operation, Spike was called a fake dragon. He has no wings, and never will, and his flames were changed. But he has something better, the heart of a hero and the love of his mother no matter what and he wouldn't change that for everything in Equestria.
