Chapter One

Lashing Out

Rainbow Dash was exhausted from the events of today while she was performing or at least trying to because of her parents being here thanks to Scootaloo. It was embarrassing the way that they would cheer for her along with shooting off fireworks during the show she and the Wonder Bolts were performing.

Then there was when she was trying to sign autographs for the fans in which they were cheering her on loudly for it and after that there was the ribbon cutting ceremony for what was most likely a new store. It got even worst when Scootaloo’s friends got involved with her parents to form a tower just because she and the other Bolts were taking pictures with the foals, not to mention that her little sister figure kept taking pictures every single moment.

(At least things can’t get any worst.)

Rainbow Dash would be proven wrong as she tossed her towel to hang on her locker.

“You hung that towel!”

BANG!

The rainbow haired Pegasus hit her head to look over at her parents who had Scootaloo with them with her mother, Windy Whistles, cheering her once again.

“Greatest towel hanger of all time!”

This came from her father, Bow Hothoof, who also became excited over something that the female Wonder Bolt didn’t think was a big deal.

That was when the two started to cheer loudly once again in the locker room.

“Towel! Towel! Towel! Towel! Towel!”

Rainbow Dash could see the way the other Wonder Bolts looked at her as they left while her parents continued to cheer her on! The young Pegasus was feeling tired, annoyed, exhausted, upset, and above all else angry. When her youngest fan snapped another picture of her she finally had enough of it all and just snapped!

“STOP!”

The two older Pegasus and the young filly became shocked at the outburst when Rainbow Dash decided to put her hoof down.

“This is ridiculous! Mom and Dad you are both too supportive!”

The parents of Rainbow Dash wound up sitting on one of the benches in the locker room not expecting this as their daughter continued to vent her frustrations.

“This is exactly why I didn’t tell you I was a Wonder Bolt! You’re just…too much!”

Windy and Bow were shocked at the way their daughter was yelling at them, in which caused Rainbow’s mother to pose a question.

“D-Did we do something wrong?”

“Yes! The fireworks, the cheer leading, and, and who do you even compare who is better or worst at hanging up a towel?!”

The two step forward with her father holding out a hoof.

“We’re… We’re just trying to be supportive.”

Twilight’s friend angrily slapped away his hoof before speaking on how she truly felt about it.

“Well I’m tired of it! I’ve had enough of you two being so proud of every little ridiculous insignificant thing I do!”

Scootaloo who was watching the whole thing became shocked at what was happening and didn’t understand why her hero was acting like this. After Rainbow stopped to catch her breath she spoke her final peace to her parents.

“I think you should leave.”

The two felt very hurt by their daughter’s words and honestly didn’t expect for her to act like this. They were only trying to support their only child but now it seemed she didn’t want them in her life any longer so the two decided to say some final words but didn’t hold any malice toward her with Windy speaking first with tears forming in her eyes.

“First of all, great job yelling at us, sweetie. No one [sniffs] can make their parents feel more worthless than you!

Her husband went next as he spoke with his eyes filled with tears as well.

“Your words were direct, clear, and…so painful! Is there nothing you can’t do?!”

Both parents left the locker room in tears as Scootaloo looked on in sadness and disbelief of her big sister figure and could only ask one thing.

“Why?”

Hearing this Rainbow Dash looked at her with a look of anger and disbelief before replying.

“What do you mean why?! Scootaloo you CAN’T be this blind or ignorant at what they were doing!”

This caused the young filly to take a step back as her idol never spoke like this to her before or been this angry. Sure she remembered that time she and her friends had spread gossip on her and her other friends when they were working for the Foal Free Press, but this new level of anger scared her and she tried to find out why she was upset.

“I…I don’t understand.”

“They were embarrassing me in front of every pony during the show and over things that were NOT important! How can you not understand that or even see how every pony else acted toward them?!”

“But they only wanted to support you!”

“Well they didn’t and you weren’t helping me at all by bringing them up here in the first place! I can’t believe you would embarrass me like this after all the things we’ve been through!”

Scootaloo felt as if she had been slapped and Rainbow’s next words would hurt even more.

“You had no business bringing them up here in the first place, when all you could have done was just stay with them at home to talk to them about me! But no you just had to do something stupid without telling me that you would bring them here or just had them talk with Twilight and the others which would have been enough!”

“I wasn’t trying to embarrass you!”

“Well you did, it was bad enough I made myself look bad during that time the other Wonder Bolts  kept calling me Rainbow Crash instead of my actual name, but for you to just bring them to where I work was an even stupider thing than I did!”

Scootaloo felt as if her heart shattered from her idols words and couldn’t hold back the tears any longer but then Rainbow said one last thing that was like she told her parents.

“I think you shouldn’t talk to me for a while Scootaloo.”

The little Pegasus could only silently cry before wiping her tears away angrily before speaking in a hurt filled voice.

“I meet your parents hoping to learn more about you, but I don’t like what I found out.”

The young filly took the scrap book she had and tossed at Rainbow’s hooves before leaving the same way the two older Pegasus’s did.

“I’ll find some pony else to do my hero report on!”

Rainbow looked at the leaving filly before looking at the scrap book that was lying face down as it was open. She considered picking it up to look inside before shaking her head, turning to leave to go back home.

“She’ll get over it soon.”

Unknown to both Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo there was someone else that heard them, along with what happen with Rainbow’s parents. Stepping out from the corner of the entrance that Scootaloo left from was Spitfire.

The captain of the Wonderbolts had come to the locker room to check on Rainbow Dash and apologize since she and the others weren’t helping making their teammate comfortable, along with wanting to have a talk with Scootaloo about bringing Dash’s parents over and to make sure to give her teammate the head’s up next time.

That was when she heard Twilight’s friend yelling at her parents about their behavior and wanting them to leave. Then when her little sister figure had asked why she soon heard the anger in her teammates voice berating the young filly for her unintentional harm at what she did.

Spitfire even heard how the other three Pegasus left in tears and could only shake her head since after hearing this she felt bad for how she and the other bolts teased Rainbow about this before but also knew Rainbow was making a mistake.

(I’m going to have to talk with Princess Twilight and her friends to help me out on this one because if I don’t do anything Rainbow is going to make a mistake like I did before and regret it later on.)

With that thought in mind she left to make her way toward Twilight’s castle.
