Listen

Listen!

You've been here before, Canterlot Castle. Only problem is that everypony is running around like there is a new super villain on the loose... you're not that bad looking, are you? You readjust your backpack and ignore the panicked pompous Ponies and continue towards the main garden where there was Princess Celestia moving off the podium, she just finished a speech. Quickly you move up and begin listening to her conversation with her advisors.

"I just don't know how this happened, she was here last night and now she's... Have you found the match to that feather that was found?" Celestia asks with a downtrodden face. Things had just gotten more interesting, a missing Pony case. Is that was caused the Ponies to panic?
"Yes your majesty, the feather that was found in your sister's room is indeed of Griffon origin." One of the advisors had said to the princess. Yeah, that would most definitely cause panic, the Co-ruler of Equestria is missing. Celestia continues on the conversation.
"Those dastardly cretins! I should have known. Have our Ponies located where she might be, any clue at all?"
"Yes, well... Our specialists have reported that she may already be in the claws of Emperor Tiberius, but there's a chance she is still in holding in Griffonstone; not yet in the capital." One of the other advisors said.
"We have no jurisdiction in that area though, crossing over the border could cause a calamity between our two races, especially if we're wrong." The first advisor announced.
"This is the last straw! nopony should be able to come into our home, steal our Ponies and leave unpunished. They've gone too far! Ready our allies, if we don't hear word of her safety in four days... We go to war." Princess Celestia announces Solemnly.

Your eyes widen considerably, you make your way back to the train station taking everything into consideration. Will you be drafted; you're not a pony though, would it matter? How could this affect your current employment, would this be just like World War Three back on Earth. All that death and destruction, you don't want such an innocent race to see such a thing. You have to stop this war before it begins... You adjust your pack and get on the train; you're going to Griffonstone. Time to test your skills, whatever they are.

1 Day Later

The train whistle blows loud and clear as you jolt awake also freaking out a nearby pony, you apologize and head off the train. 'Griffonstone' you believe. You begin to walk around the dreary scenery seeing Griffons all over the place, you're going to have to scope this place out, find where they are keeping the princess and find a way to retrieve her without bringing attention to you both. First thing you notice is a peeved Griffon under a tour booth. 'That could get me a good lay of the land'.

After a few hours of history teachings of landmarks of Griffonstone you get to the place you were really looking for, the GSPD: Griffonstone Police Department, no doubt Luna is there, where else could she be? 'The capital...'. You shake your head and continue the tour as to not blow your cover, that of which is sure to work in a small village of Griffons. Heading back to the center of town, you notice a hooded figure, a pony who's asking for money, 'Poor mare'. You walk over to her and take out fifty bits.

"Listen, I know that this is quite sudden but I need your hood, it's very important and I can give you fifty bits for it." Her eyes widen at the offer and immediately shakes off her cloak and throws it at you, and proceeds to sit and hold her hooves out.
"God bless." you say as you place the sack of bits in her hooves. The mare's eyebrow raises.

Now you just have you wait for the perfect moment to str- You see a Griffon wearing a guards outfit walk into the police department, and a few seconds later another Griffon leaves. 'I have an idea'. You walk up to the off duty Griffon.

"Listen, you look tired and ragged. Looks like you sure could use a drink there fella"
"You buyin?" He retorts, you nod and lead him to the bar closest to the train station.

You begin to buy rounds for the guard, rounds, after rounds; even having a few yourself. good thing the liquor around here isn't as powerful as the stuff back home. you say you'll be right back and head to the train station, looking at all the departure time you find one that leaves in an hour, its perfect. You arrive back at the bar stuffing two tickets in your pocket and order some shot for the two of you, you need him drunk if you want information. Some more shots and idle conversations later you start to lay on the whammies.

"So what's it like to be a guard at the station?" You ask. He looks at you with a smile
"It's boring inside the station, but we take any chance to get out of the station just so we can get rowdy."
"What kinda cells do you guys have. like steel bars or like crystal, what?" You ask another question. He mumbles for a bit so you order more shots.
"Wow that burns... they are uhh, metal bars, nice and thick, only way to open 'em are keys."
"Is it like individual keys for the cells or is it like singular?" You continue.
"Multiple"
"How do you tell them apart, what key for which cell I mean?" You ask, trying to pry out more information. More shots arrive but it looks like the guard has reached his limit.
"There uhh, is a board... labeled for the keysss. It's not that herd ta figut-fig-Figure out..."
"Listen, looks like you're done, i'm going to pay for the drinks and rent you a room for the night, get some sleep." You say. You pick up your backpack and head to the counter.

"Hey barkeep listen, That guard was nice enough to put our drinks on his tab, but i'm gonna pay for his room." You say, handing over just a few bits. You look back and smirk at the passed out guard, and leave.

You start walking towards the Police Department thinking of your current plan, 'If I do this correctly we should be out of here in the next ten minutes'. You rush into the police station looking around wildly for the Griffon guard, you spot him near the cells, you run up and see Luna in rags in cell number eight.

"Quick we need help, Some Griffons are getting rowdy at the bar near the train station, I was there with my friend. Those guys have already beaten up another Officer, He needs your help, please!" You shout in your best panicked voice.

The Guard sprints out of the building and heads the direction of the bar. You rush to the door and look at the key board hanging above the guards desk, you grab the key labelled eight and rush to Luna's cell door. You open it and set your bag down.

"What in tartu-"
"Listen, shut up, stay quiet, and put this on." You cut her off throwing the cloak at her, which landed over her head.
"Do you know who-"
"Yes! I said shut up. Put that on and follow me." You cut her off again.

You begin to fast walk to the train station, Luna in tow. At the train station you hand the ticket master your two tickets from your pocket, just as the conductor says all aboard. The guard from earlier leaves the bar and looks around confused, he notices you in the train window and begins running to the train as it begins to leave the station. The Griffon guard is slowly becoming a speck in the scenery as you get further, and further away from Griffonstone.

"Care to tell me what's going on?" Luna asks with a raised eyebrow.
"ChCh, shush, no speaky, rest now, talk later." You say pulling your hat over your eyes.

1 Day Later

You and Luna, in her hood start heading towards the castle, she's still wondering why she has to hide, even in Canterlot. You point out that anypony could possibly be working with the Griffons that had captured her, she nods and you two continue to the castle. You two were able to slip into the castle pretty easily thanks to Luna and her knowledge of it. Making your way to the throne room you are stopped by the Royal Guards at the door.

"Halt who Goes there?"
"Please listen this is an emergency, this absolutely mysterious hooded figure who I have had the pleasure of being accompanied by may have some knowledge about Princess Luna's disappearance, I'm positive the Princess would want to hear this, so if you would listen and escort us to her." You plead. The Guards become more attentive and nod, escorting you two to the princess. You and Princess Luna head to Celestia who heard the door open.

"I thought I told you I was not to be disturbed." Celestia says. The guards begin to speak up confidently.
"These two said that they have information on Princess Luna's disappearance." Wide-eyed, Celestia flies up to you and the still hooded Luna.
"What do you know?!" She says frantically. The moment was extremely tense, Luna pulls the cloak off of herself and smiles.
"Hello sister." She says. Tears begin to fall from Celestia's face as she hugs her sister.

You did it, You're done, poof no longer needed. You averted a war and returned to the princess to her castle like a knight in shining armor. It's finally time to leave, you did your job. You smile and begin to make your way to the exit when you feel yourself being held in place with magic.

"And where do you think you're going?" Luna says.
"Listen, i'm done here I helped return your sister home, theres no need for me here anymore." you say. Celestia and Luna look to each other and back at you.
"Maybe you could stay a little longer, we want to thank you..." Celestia begins. "Personally." Luna Finishes.
