It was 23:30. I was just delivering last package of very busy day. It was time to get back into depot and go home. I was actualy looking foward of it. It was supposed to be my day off tomorrow. I got into car and drove towards depot.
"Time for some radio.", I decided and said it out loud. I put CD with my favourite songs into radio. It was then, when I saw her for the first time. I wasnt able to say what it was. From what I saw, it was like big dog, standing on the four legs, but something seemed off. There was definitely something 'hairy' about it. Shame I had no time at all to check it. It was already late and I wanted to go home and sleep.
I got to depot in 15 minutes. There was David as receptionist. He was cool guy. I knew him from day I started working at post office. "Rough day, huh?", he asked me as he was writing down my arrival into record book.
"Tell me about it.", I said to him,"Why do I was chosen to have so much?"
David laughed and said,"Well, it cant be everyone has easy job like me."
I looked at him with evil grin and said:"You know what? Enjoy night, Im gonna have free day, man."
He looked at me knowing I got him there. He looked for few second, then he said to me:"So you better go park car and get outta here."
So I drove inside, parked car and went into locker room. I changed my clothes and took my bag. Suddenly something fell of bag. It was folded piece of paper. I looked inside it. It was paper I got in letter from Police HQ year ago. It was paper informing me that I did not passed by exams to become police officer. I was looking at piece of paper with slight feeling of sadness in me. It was hard to be rejected from somewhere I dreamed of to work in. I was just standing there, remembering time, when I was working hard to get it and fail at simple honesty. I was thinking you cant get good by being good since then. You can say I lost hope in being good.
I folded paper back into smaller piece and put it back into bag. I was thinking for a while and after some time I said loudly to myself:"One day I will do it and become policeman."
"You sure will!", I heard familiar voice saying, coming from behind me, but when I looked back, there was nothing, just white concrete wall. I was scared a little.
I decided to leave depot, ready for day off. I said my goodbye to David and went my way to the home. I went pass park. It was really nice place to relax, but not really during night.
Street was really quiet. Long houses was high, about 4 floors each, with stores in ground floor. I was just passing by toy store. I noticed there was Mane 6 as new toys. I stopped and looked at them, giggling a little, bacause I never was that big of fan to buy those toys. They looked pretty regular, but not by price.
"This is strange..", I heard same voice coming from next to me. When I looked, I couldnt believe my very eyes. There was standing. Rainbow Dash. She looked very real. She was about 1,4m high, her fur was like one on dog I used to have, her eyes were just as big as I knew, looking totaly real. I was looking at her in shock and she said:"Is this what you here are into?"
I got into senses, still looking at her and saying:"Are you here for real? What the-", I tried to calm down myself. She was looking at me like at fool with her grin. I took my hand and tried to touch her, trying to prove she is real. Once I felt her fur, I told:"This is really good robot or mind playing awesome tricks on me."
"You better believe I am awesome.", she said with pride,"And you are in need and needed."
"What am I?", I asked, still being in shock from seeing live pony from cartoon show.
"In need and needed. Means you need help and also need to help somewhere." she looked at me with laugh.
"What is that 'somewhere' you are saying?", I asked.
"Equestria, where else?", she said, still looking like talking with idiot.
"What? Equestria? Me? Why?", I kept asking and asking.
She was looking at me same way but said:"You are boooring. I thought you will be way cooler. Nevermind. Plan B. You see that thing over there?" I looked at the right, looking over the road. Then all became blurred and blackened as I felt blunt painful force coming from my left side. She kicked me to unconsciousness.
"What did you do?!"
"He was asking too much."
"We need him alive! He can have some kind of trauma! Lets just take him back."
As I woke up, I was laying at the floor of some fancy room. It looked like bedroom, with table for two, bed, nightstand, wardrobe and huge door. Whole room was so shiny, like made from crystal. I had strong suspision, where I am, but I wanted to be careful and first explore a little. I stood up, only finding myself falling down on the floor. I was not able to keep balance on two feets, I thought and from look at my hands, I knew why. I felt so frightened. I didnt see any hands or fingers. I saw hooves. I knew what it meant, though I didnt wanted to be it true. I became a pony.
I sat down as best as I could and said to myself:"How did this hap-", I stopped when I noticed my voice being different now. It sounded more girly than before. That was moment, when I checked other parts of body to fully be sure. Green fur, brown mane and tail and all mare has to have. I was about to scream.
"I would be glad if you dont panic. This way I can talk to you.", I heard voice saying behind me. I looked back and there she was. Princess Twilight Sparkle was standing in the door and looking at me, being total wreck.
"Wha- Who- Um- I-", I said as I was trying to get over all new things.
She looked at me, came to me and with friendly look on the face she said to me:"I understand it is big change for you. I experienced same too few times. Whatever you want to ask, you can.". She went to the table and put plate with cups and teapot on it.
I looked at her and asked:"What is happening?"
She pointed me to sit down. After some time I managed to get to the table and sit down at the chair. She was already sitting down at the opposite side of a table. She used magic to pour me and herself tea and started talking:"You are in Equestria. You have been transformed into pony, though I am not sure, why are you female. I think you were male in your world. We dragged you here and I was waiting for you to wake up. Anything more?"
"Why am I here? I want to go home.", I said with sadness in my voice.
Twilight looked at me with serious face:"I am afraid I cant let you go yet. You are here for reason. Very important one."
I started to be a little grumpy:"How can I be someone you need for something? My whole life is basicaly bad luck simulator.
I am just post office worker. Let me go home and I wont tell anything about you in my world. Please."
Twilight giggles at me:"This is attitude you will get nowhere. Cooperate and you will get home. I Pinkie promise."
I wanted to be even more grumpy at her, but when I looked at situation, I admited its better to meet her demands:"Fine. I will do whatever you want. Just get me home."
Twilight smiled and siped a little of tea:"Now we are getting somewhere. Here is the list of tasks. Look at it, do it and you can go home."
When I heard it, I tried to get out of whole aggrement:"List of tasks? Cant you take someone other for it? Maybe from this world this time?"
She looked iritated and said to me with disapproval in her voice:"You dont get it? We know you. We were watching you all the time. We are making you a favor by this all. Now do it!"
As she yelled last sentence, I felt it is not great idea to anger alicorn, as their powers are way more powerful then I can handle. I decided its time to look at the list. It was very difficult to look at it, but I manage to open it. When I saw what were tasks I was supposed to do, I couldnt believe my eyes.
Twilight's list:
1) make at least 20 friends
2) meet Applejack and work with her for week
3) Be friend with Starlight Glimmer (she is away and will be back in week or more)
4) Meet Princess Celestia and introduce himself
5) meet all Elements of Harmony
"So? What do you say? Easy, right?", Twilight said with smile.
"Easy? Even first task seems impossible for me.", I said with grumpy face.
Twilight Sparkle, filled with so much anger, stood up on the table, which made everything lying on the table to fall off. She looked at me in the eye and said to me in really angry tone:"Look, you skunk! I got you here for some reason! Im not gonna let you go home until its done! Dont even think about fooling me! I know you and your family! Dont try my patience and go do those tasks NOW!"
I was really scared. She gave me one last bad stare and headed towards doors leading from room. She stoped in doors, looked back at me with angry face and said:"If you want any help, find Spike. He will help you as much as he can."
That was it. I am sure of it. I need to admit it. I am stuck here. Now all I can do is that stupid list. It is my only ticket to get home. Still, something is off. Why am I really here? Why am I needed? Why would princess of friendship had personal need to get me, normal person from another dimension here? So much questions and no answers, but there is no other way to go. It is time to make some friends. Geez.
