"Do you think she'll be alright?"
"I don't know."
"That was some hit she took."
"Hey, a'h think she's coming round."
Rarity's head was pounding as she awoke. Tearing her eyelids open she saw the blurry forms of others looking down at her. She soon realised she was laying in a bed, not her own bed, a hospital bed. Finally she blinked the haziness from her eyes and saw the people above her were her friends.
"Rarity!" Sweetie said as she threw her arms around her sister and hugged her, "you're finally awake."
"Sweetie?" Rarity weakly replied, "what happened? Where am I?"
"In one of the arena's medical bays," Twilight told her, "the Freeze Industries first aid team rushed you here after your Duel."
"That's right," Rarity said, "I remember now."
<Flashback>
"This is for my sisters," Adagio said, "ATTACK!" Her monster charged at Rarity, brandishing the sludge rapier which with swung down towards the ground. The weapon struck the ground and unleashed a torrent of water, which flew at Rarity and then spiralled around her into a tornado of sludge.
"AAAAARRRRR!" Rarity screamed as she was barraged by the force of the attack.
<Flashforward>
"I lost," she said.
"We're just glad you're alright," Fluttershy told her.
"We were really worried," Pinkie told her.
"I'm fine," Rarity assured them.
"Rarity," Flash stepped forwards, "what happened back there?"
"Yeah," Rainbow said, "a Duel shouldn't injure you like this."
Rarity sat back, remembering how the end of the Duel turned out. "That monster, Dark Siren, it was different from the monsters I've faced before. It wasn't just some hologram, I could actually feel it attacking me."
"But how's that possible?" Spike asked.
"Could the ARC System have glitched?" Applejack asked Twilight, who shrugged in response.
"It wasn't the system."
Everyone looked over at the door, where Sunset was standing, before stepping into the room.
"Sunset," Twilight said, "what are you doing here?"
"Came to see if Rarity was alright," Sunset replied as she reached them, "and to ask her what happened back there."
"Well that's all I know," Rarity told her.
"I see," Sunset replied.
"You know something don't you?" Flash asked her, "you know what happened."
Sunset frowned at this. "Not everything," she said, "just a few things. Right before Adagio summoned that monster, our systems detected a huge spike in her Ener-D levels."
"Ener-D?" Twilight asked.
"It's an unusual energy that all Duellist generate when they Duel," Sunset explained, "Freeze Industries has been experimenting with what that energy can be used for. Every Duellists Ener-D level is different, but when Adagio summoned that monster her levels skyrocketed."
Flash frowned hearing this, before realising something. "Does this have anything to do with...Sombra."
Everyone froze at that name, remembering the story Cold Steel had told them on the last day of the first round.
"We believe so," Sunset said, "We believe Adagio and her sisters all hacked into the database and added themselves into the tournament contestants."
"So they are working for Sombra," Flash said, "and so's Shadow."
Sunset just nodded at this.
"Well if that's the case," Rainbow said, "why doesn't Cold just grab them and make them tell him where Sombra's hiding."
"Too risky," Sunset said, "even if we did manage to get them, by the time they're finally willing to talk Sombra could be long gone. Cold's plan is to have them be defeated, then move in. Losing here would most likely seriously ruin their plan, so they'll be more willing to help if they're worried about incurring Sombra's wrath."
"I guess that makes sense," Twilight said, "but the question is, can they be beaten?"
Rainbow just smiled. "Leave that to me. I'll take them both."
"Don't underestimate them," Sunset told her, "Sombra wouldn't have sent them if they didn't have serious skill."
"We'll just have to be careful," Twilight said.
Sunset nodded before turning to leave. "I've gotta get going, get well soon Rarity."
"Er thank you," Rarity replied as they watched her leave.
"Man," Rainbow said, "she's changed."
"I think the whole being mean thing was an act," Twilight said, "she was being a jerk to make sure we'd want to Duel her."
"Well it worked," Flash said.
Everyone nodded, until Rarity realised something. "Wait a minute, what about the tournament?"
"It's still going on," Sweetie told her sister.
Spike grabbed a remote off the bedside table and switched on the TV hanging on the wall.
The image was of a Duel between a boy named Micro Chips and a girl named Jupiter Montage.
Celestia: We continue day two of the Celestic Cup finals with Duel six, where young Micro Chips faces off against Jupiter Montage.
The Duel went of for a few more minutes, until finally it came to an end.
Luna: And with that, Micro Chips will be moving on. Jupiter Montage has been eliminated.
"Well that's that," Flash said.
"Only two more Duels left," Applejack said before turning to Rainbow, "and you'll be in one of them."
"I know," Rainbow said, "but the question is, who's my opponent?"
A few moments later the Celestic Sisters came on stage.
Celestia: It's time for the second to last Duel of the day, so don't go anywhere.
Luna: Let's see who'll be next up to bat, shall we?
She held up the remote and pressed the button, which caused the images of the four remaining Duellists to appear and then spin around hiding them. The images began to spin around before finally shooting one of them out, which span around.
Celestia: Rainbow Dash!
"Finally," Rainbow said, "a chance to strut my stuff."
"But who are you Duelling?" Twilight asked.
She got her answer when the second image shot out, revealing her opponent.
Luna: Shadow! May both Duellists please head to the Duel field.
"Looks like Shadow's getting knocked out of the contest sooner then he'd hoped," Rainbow said with a smirk.
"Go get them Rainbow," Scootaloo cheered, "he doesn't stand a chance against you."
"You know it," Rainbow replied as she ruffled the younger girl's head.
"Just be careful," Twilight said, "we have no idea what he could be hiding."
"Relax egghead," Rainbow told her, "whatever it is, I've got it covered."
"Well you'd better get down to the field," Applejack said, "don't wanna be disqualified for being late."
"Right," Rainbow said before turning to Rarity. "Get well soon Rare."
Rarity just smiled. "Go get them."
Rainbow nodded before turning to leave, followed by the others and leaving Rarity and Sweetie Belle alone.
Cold was in the VIP room, glaring down at the arena. The Duel with Adagio had proven that they were a threat, but just how much of one was yet to be seen.
"Cold," he turned to Shining, "this Shadow guy's been seen hanging with Adagio and if she did that to Rarity, how much danger is Rainbow in?"
"I don't know," he replied, "all we can do is wait and see. We can't form a plan against him without seeing his skills, so as bad as it may seem, this is for the best."
"It better be," Shining said.
Celestia: It's time for the next Duel, let's welcome our competitors to the field.
Luna: First up is the Duellist who earned the most points of all the finalists. The mysterious Shadow!
The cloaked Duellist stepped onto the field, simply looking straight ahead.
Celestia: And his opponent, the hotblooded Xyz Duellist. Rainbow Dash!
Rainbow stepped onto the field, waving up at the crowd as they cheered her on.
"GO RAINBOW!" Scootaloo cheered at the top of her voice.
She and the others were in the stands, cheering her on to her victory.
Rainbow and Shadow met in the centre of the arena, where the ref was waiting.
"Heads or tails?" He asked.
"I'll take heads," Rainbow said.
"Then tails for me," Shadow replied.
The ref flipped and saw the outcome. "Heads," he said, "Rainbow Dash will take the first move."
The two nodded and stepped back to a fair distance.
Luna: Now let's see which Duel Field they'll be competing on today.
She held up the remote and pressed the button, a second later the floor glowed as it formed the Duel Field.
"AUGMENTED REALITY COMBAT SYSTEM ENERGISED."
In the blink of an eye, Rainbow and Shadow were transported to a city. This city however was made out of clouds, the streets, the roads and even the buildings were made of clouds.
Celestia: Cloud City!
Luna: It's a Duel in the skies.
"This is perfect for me," Rainbow said before turning to Shadow. "Time for some pay back for Rarity."
"I had nothing to do with your friends injuries," Shadow told her as he pulled out a black Duel Disk and placed in on his arm as it formed a red blade. "All I care about is getting to the finals."
"Well you're not getting there," Rainbow replied as she linked her own Duel Disk to her arm, "You're going down right here."
Celestia: It looks like our Duellists are ready.
Luna: Then lets get this Duel on the way.
Celestia: Three!
Luna: TWO!
Both: ONE!"
"DUEL!"

"ACTION CARD DISPERSED!"
"I'm up first," Rainbow said as she reached for her deck, "I draw and summon the Pendulum Monster Rainbow Wing Knight Kestrel in ATK mode." From out of the clouds a winged knight appeared wearing red armour designed around Red Kestrel, with a helmet in the shape of a bird's head covering everything but its mouth. (A1500/D1200/L4/P5) "Next I activate the Spell card Hatchling's Flight, which lets me take a Level three or bellow Winged Beast and summon it to the field." He deck slotted out a card which she took and placed on her Duel Disk. "Go Rainbow Wing Knight Hawk!" Another winged knight appeared from the clouds, wearing armour designed around Green Hawk. (A1400/D800/L3/P6) "I end my turn with a face down."
Celestia: Rainbow started out strong, summoning multiple monsters to her field.
Luna: How will Shadow respond?
"It's my turn," Shadow said, "I draw." He looked at his cards and nodded. "I summon Shadow-Mech Racer in ATK mode." In a flash of dark light a red formula one car appeared, which suddenly began to reshape itself into a five meter high robot. (A1500/D1200/L4)
Flash frowned at this. "I get the feeling that robot's more then meets the eye."
"Gotta wonder what powers it has," Twilight said.
"Next I'll equip my Shadow-Mech with Cyber Sabre, which increase its ATK strength by one thousand." A large robotic sword appeared in the robot's hand, before the blade glowed bright red. (A2500/D1200/L4) "Attack Rainbow Wing Knight Kestrel!"
The robot swung its blade at Rainbow's Pendulum Monster, but just as it was about to strike a tornado appeared and surrounded Wing Knight Kestrel blocking the attack.
Rainbow: 3500
Shadow: 4000
"Sorry pal," Rainbow said, "but my Tornado Guard makes it so that one Wind Monster can't be destroyed this turn and the damage I take is halved."
Shadow didn't seem phased by this. "I end my turn with a face down." The tornado disappeared.
"It's my turn," Rainbow said as she went to her deck, "I draw and summon Rainbow Wing Purple Condor to the field." Purple Condor shot out the clouds, joining the rest of Rainbow's monsters. (A1800/D100/L3) "Plus his special ability inflicts six hundred points of damage to you." He monster flapped its wings and unleashed a gust which struck Shadow

"And now I'll use Rainbow Wing Green Hawk's effect," Rainbow continued, "since I have a Rainbow Wing on my field, I can summon him to the field as well." From out of the clouds came her fourth monster, which joined the others. (A1400/D800/L3)
"That makes three Level three monsters," Fluttershy said.
The others nodded, knowing what that meant.
"And now," Rainbow said as her monsters glowed, "I Overlay my Rainbow Wing Knight Hawk, Purple Condor and Green Hawk, to build th Overlay Network." Her monster changed into lights, which flew up and entered a black hole. "It's time to fly as one in a victory formation, to defeat our enemies." The black hole exploded, revealing a new monster. "I XYZ SUMMON!"
The light faded and revealed Rainbow's Monster. "Rainbow Assault Wing Silver!" (A2100/D2000/R3)
"That won't save you," Shadow said.
"Won't it?" Rainbow said cockily, "I activate Assault Wing Silver's ability. Since your monster's ATK points are higher then their original, I can remove an Overlay Unit and reduce it's ATK by half it's original." Assault Wing Silver slashed through one of its Overlay Units and created a gust that cut Shadow-Mech Racer's ATK down. (A1750/D1200/L4) "Now attack!" Rainbow ordered as her monster leaped forward and slashed through the robot, destroying it.

Shadow: 3050
"When a monster equipped with Cyber Sabre is destroyed," Shadow said, "I can add a Machine Type Monster from my Deck to my hand."
"Well now my Rainbow Wing Knight will attack you directly," Rainbow said as she knight spread its wings and skydived at Shadow.
Shadow however leaped into action, running over to a nearby cloud made lamppost and jumping up to grab an Action Card. "I activate the Action Spell Blow Away!" He said as he place the card in the Duel Disk. In that moment a powerful gust of wind appeared and caused Rainbow's Wing Knight to be stopped in midair, being pushed back by the force of the wind. "Blow Away allows me to negates a direct attack," Shadow explained "I guess your bird's not that strong a flyer."
"Not bad," Rainbow said, "I place one card face down and end my turn."
"I'm not seeing anything suspicious about this guy," Spike said, "his skills don't seem that impressive."
"Yeah," Scootaloo said, "they seem pretty standard."
"That might be what he wants you to think," Twilight said, "to make Rainbow underestimate him."
"We can't be sure," Flash said, "we'll just have to keep watching."
"It's my turn," Shadow said as he went to his deck, "I draw and first I'll activate my face down." His card flipped up to reveal a Trap, "Shadow-Mechanic. With this I can repair one of my destroyed Shadow-Mechs and summon it back to the field." In another flash of dark light, Shadow-Mech Racer reappeared. "Since it was Special Summoned Racer's Special Ability activates," Shadow explained, "I can now add one Shadow-Mech Monster from my deck to my hand." His deck shuffled before slotting out a card. "That's not all," he continued, "because I'm trading him in for something stronger. Shadow-Mech Hoist!"
Racer was engulfed by another flash of dark light and from out of it, a orange crane truck which transformed into an eight meter high robot with the crane hanging over its right shoulder. (A2400/D1800/L6) "Plus Hoist's ability lets me summon a Level four or below Shadow-Mech from my graveyard to the field." The monsters hook lowered into the ground and then retracted, pulling Racer out of the clouds. (A1500/D1200/L4)
Rainbow frowned at this, admittedly impressed by the combo.
"Now," Shadow said, "Hoist attacks Assault Wing Silver." The robot threw its hook at the Xyz monster and wrapped it up, before pulling on the cable and throwing Assault Wing Silver all over the place and then smashing it into a nearby cloud building, destroying it.

"Now Shadow-Mech Racer attacks Rainbow Wing Knight Kestrel!" The robot transformed back into its vehicle mode and raced at Rainbow's last monster, slamming into it and destroying them both. "I end my turn."
"It's my turn," Rainbow said as she went to her deck, "I draw." She looked at the card she'd drawn and smirked. "Perfect," she said as she took it and another card from her hand. "I'm setting the Pendulum Scale with scale two Rainbow Wing Knight Condor and scale eight Rainbow Wing Knight Owl" She placed two cards on her Duel Disk as it lit up. One either side of her, two columns of light appeared as two monsters flew up into them. They were both Rainbow Wing Knights, the first with purple armour based on Purple Condor and the second was a female knight in pink armour based on Pink Owl.
The two monster stopped flying up as they reached ten feet in the air, before numbers appeared below them. They then looked up as a beam of light shot out of the bird eye designs on their helmets, connecting above her head and form the portal. "I PENDULUM SUMMON!"
The portal opened and two beams of light shot out and struck the ground.
"Rainbow Wing Knight Kestrel!" (A1500/D1200/L4/P5)
"Rainbow Wing Knight Hawk!" (A1400/D800/L3/P6)
"Since he was Special Summoned," Rainbow said, "I can activate Wing Knight Kestrel's Special Ability which lets me add Rainbow Wing Red Kestrel from my deck to my hand." He deck shuffled and slotted out a card, which Rainbow took. "Now I'll summon it to the field," Rainbow said as the red bird of prey burst through the clouds and joined her other monsters on the field. (A1500/D1200/L4)
Shadow growled seeing this.
Celestia: Incredible. Talk about birds of a feather flocking together.
Luna: Shadow may find getting passed that army to be tricky.
"And now," Rainbow said as her two kestrel monsters glowed and changed into lights, before shooting into the air, "with these two monsters I build the Overlay Network." The black hole appeared below her which the lights flew into. "When birds of a feather flock together an awesome power is unleashed." The black hole exploded in a burst of light. "I XYZ SUMMON!"
The light faded, revealing Rainbow's ace. "Rainbow Assault Wing Gold!" (A2300/D1700/R4)
Rainbow's friends cheered happily seeing her pull out her best.
"That's what I'm talking about," Scootaloo cheered, "no way he can beat Assault Wing Gold."
"I have to agree," Flash said, "go get them Rainbow."
"But don't get to confident," Twilight called out.
"Since a Winged Beast is on my field alongside Assault Wing Gold," Rainbow said, "he gets an extra five hundred points." (A2800/D1700/R4) "Next I'll use his special ability to remove an Overlay Unit and move another Winged Beast from my deck to my hand." The bird man pulled out his katanna and slashed through of of the light surrounding him, as Rainbow's deck slotted out a card. "Now I'll attack!"
Assault Wing Gold flew at Shadow-Mech Hoist and drew katanna, which it used to slash through the robot, destroying it.

"I end my turn," Rainbow said.
"It's my turn," Shadow said, "I draw and now it's time for me to set the Pendulum Scale."
Hearing this Cold frowned. Shadow and Adagio had both declined their Pendulum cards, so how had he gotten them?
"I set scale nine Shadow-Mech Scooter and scale three Shadow-Mech Hauler," Shadow said as he placed the cards on his Duel Disk. On either side of him, two columns of light appeared as two monsters flew up into them. The first was a small orange robot with what looked like the front of an electric scooter on its right arm, while the other was a large silver robot that looked like it would transform into a truck.
The two monsters stopped flying up as they reached ten feet in the air, before numbers appeared below them. They then looked up as a beam of light shot out of their eyes and staff, connecting above his head. "I PENDULUM SUMMON!"
The portal opened and a single light shot out and struck the ground.
The light faded revealing a massive machine, that looked like a flying battleship. Suddenly it began to transform until it took the form of a fifteen meter high robot with large guns on both its shoulders and an even larger catapult on its right arm. "Shadow-Mech Fortress!" (A3500/D2000/L8)
Everyone was in awe at the colossal machine, while Shadow jumped onto the roof of a building and up onto his monsters shoulder.
"Next I'll activate the Spell card Monster Reborn," he said, "to revive Shadow-Mech Hoist to my field." In a flash of light, the crane robot reappeared on the field. "Now I activate Fortress's ability," Shadow went on, "first I sacrifice Shadow-Mech Hoist."
Fortress reached down and picked up Hoist, who'd transformed into its vehicle form, before placing it on its catapult.
"Now I can destroy every monster on your side of the field whose origanal ATK is less then Hoists, while dealing you eight hundred points of damage for each one." Fortress fired its catapult, which launched Hoist towards Rainbow's field. Hoist transformed into an orange ball of light, which split in two and struck both Rainbow's monsters and destroyed them while causing an explosion which sent Rainbow flying back.

Shadow: 2650
Rainbow came to a rolling stop, several feet down the street, but began to pick herself and looked up at Shadow.
"I end my turn," he said.
Celestia: Such a powerful monster. Can Rainbow Dash find a way to destroy it?
"Of course I can," Rainbow said once she was on her feet, "I ain't losing. I'm gonna win this tournament or die trying."
"You tell them Rainbow!" Scootaloo cheered.
"You can still win this," Twilight told her.
"BEAT HIM RAINBOW DASH!" Fluttershy screamed, shocking everybody.
"If Fluttershy's screaming at me to do it," Rainbow said, "I'd better. It's my turn, I draw!" She looked at the card she'd drawn and smiled. "I activate my own Monster Reborn," she said, "and with it I'll revive my Rainbow Assault Wing Gold!" Her ace shot out of the clouds, facing down the giant Shadow-Mech. "Now I'll activate my Rainbow Wing Knight Owl's Pendulum Ability, which will let me add a certain Spell card from my deck to me hand by discarding a card." She did so and her deck slotted out the exact card she needed.
"What are you planning?" Shadow asked.
"Let me show you," Rainbow said, "I activate the Spell card Rank-Up-Magic, Rainbow Force!" Assault Wing Gold transformed into a stream of light, which flew up and into a black hole as it opened. "With this I can take a Rainbow Assault Wing and use it to rebuild the Overlay Network," Rainbow explained. "Let the rainbow shine its brilliant light upon you, as you take flight to a new future," she chanted as the black hole exploded. "CHAOS XYZ EVOLUTION!"
The light faded, revealing Rainbow's most powerful monster. "Rainbow Assault Wing Platinum!" (A2800/D2200/R5)
"Neat trick," Shadow said, "but your monster's still no match for mine."
"Don't be so sure," Rainbow said, "because I'm activating Assault Wing Platinum's ability. By removing an Overlay Unit I can reduce your monsters ATK points by seven hundred, for every Rainbow Wing or Rainbow Assault Wing in my graveyard." The new Xyz monster crushed its single Overlay Unit in both hands, before extending his wings. They shone a brilliant light which spread and began to take the form of the monsters in Rainbow's graveyard.
Red Kestrel, Green Hawk, Yellow Eagle and Assault Wing Silver flew around the Xyz monster as astral projections, before flying towards the giant robot and striking it. With each strike it became weaker and weaker, until the four strike weakened it to its new number. (A700/D2000/L8)
Shadow growled at this.
"Attack!" Rainbow ordered as her monster flew up and the charged toward Shadow's, bringing its hands together and spinning around till it was like a rainbow coloured drill. The spinning monster struck Shadow-Mech Fortress, causing it to spark and short out as it was destroyed while Platinum cut through it.
The force of the attack was so great, that Shadow was sent flying off his monster.
Rainbow: 1500
Shadow: 550
"Oh yeah," Rainbow cheered.
"Nice one!" Scootaloo said, "now that's how you use an Xyz Monster."
"Bet Shadow wasn't expecting that," Flash said.
"Hey!" Spike said as he looked up and then pointing. "What's that?"
They all looked up and saw something flying above the area where Fortress had been. Looking closer they realised it was a black cloak, being blown by the up draft of Rainbow's attack.
"That's," Twilight realised before looking back down at the arena. The others followed their gaze and saw that Shadow was now without his cloak, visible for all to see.
The last of the smoke cleared and everyone saw Shadow's face, before they all gasped.
"Are you guys seeing what I'm seeing?" Spike asked.
"I see it," Scootaloo said, "but I don't believe it."
"That can't be," Twilight said in horror.
Flash couldn't believe what he was seeing, as he finally saw who Shadow really was. Shadow was...him, he looked exactly like him. His skin was orange, if slightly darker, while his hair was jet back with streaks of red here and there. His eyes were a dark red and he was wearing black leather clothing [AN].
"No way," Flash said as he continued to stare.
Rainbow was also in shock as she saw who her opponent was.
Shadow managed to pick himself up and dusted himself off. "So now you know," he said.
"How?" Rainbow asked.
"I'll leave that for you to wonder," Shadow said, "now I'll assume you're done." When Rainbow didn't reply he just reached for his deck. "My turn, I draw." He looked at the card and nodded. "Once again I'll use my Pendulum Scale to carve the arc of victory," he said as the portal began to form. "I PENDULUM SUMMON!"
The portal opened and shot out a single light, which took the form of a pink ambulance which transformed into a robot. "Shadow-Mech Medibot!" (A1600/D1400/L4) "With Medibot's ability, since it was Special Summoned I can revive a Level four or below Shadow-Mech to my field." In a flash of dark light, Shadow-Mech Racer appeared on the field. (A1500/D1200/L4)
"Next," Shadow said, "I pay half my life points to activate Shadow-Mech Hauler's Pendulum Ability."
Rainbow: 1500
Shadow: 275
"Now the Level of every Shadow-Mech will double until the End Phase," Shadow explained. (A1500/D1200/L8), (A1600/D1400/L8)
"Two Level eights," Rainbow said realised what he was about to do.
"And now," Shadow said, "I overlay Shadow-Mechs Racer and Medibot!" His monsters glowed and changed into lights, before shooting into the air, as a black hole appeared below him which the lights flew into. "With these two monsters I build the Overlay Network." The black hole exploded in a burst of light. "I XYZ SUMMON!"
The light faded, revealing a large jet black ship that looked extraterrestrial. Suddenly it began to transformed, until it was in the shape of a ten meter high robot. "Shadow-Mech Xyz Bot!" (A3000/D1500/R8)
Rainbow looked up at the monster in amazement.
"It's time to end this," Shadow said.
"End this?" Rainbow replied, "newsflash, even if you destroy my monster I'll only lose two hundred life points. I'll still have way more then you do."
"That's were you're wrong," Shadow said, "you see when Xyz Bot attacks an Xyz Monster, that monster's ATK and DEF points are reduced to zero."
"WAIT WHAT!?" Rainbow screamed as she saw the Shadow-Mech fire a laser from its eyes, which struck her monster and caused in to flinch in pain. (A0/D0/R5) "No," she whispered.
"ATTACK!" Shadow screamed, as his monster flew up and then took aim at Assault Wing Platinum. From of its chest a long lance like laser blaster folded out and began charging up, as black energy surged around.
Rainbow looked around, trying to find an Action Spell to save her monster and as the weapon fired a black bolt of energy, she spotted one. Breaking into a run she tried to reach it before the blast destroyed her monster, but when she was barely a inch away from it...the blast struck.
BOOOM!
An explosion rocked the stadium, causing everyone to duck and cover for fear of being blown away.
"RAINBOW!" Her friends screamed, as they tried to look through the smoke and see if their fiend was okay.
Finally the smoke cleared and everyone looked down, only to all gasped at what they saw.
Rainbow was laying on the floor of the Duel Field, her cloths torn and a look of pain on her face.
Rainbow: 0
Shadow: 275 (Winner)
Everyone was silent, seeing a repeat of the ending of Rarity's Duel.
"Rainbow," Scootaloo whispered.
Down in the arena, as the Duel Field faded, Shadow looked over at his fallen opponent and just smiled. He then moved over to where his cape had fallen and picked it up, before throwing it back on but leaving the hood down. He then turned to leave the field, but just as he was at the exit he looked over his shoulder at where Flash was standing.
The two looked eyes staring at one another. While one stared in determination, the other stared in horror and confusion.
Eventually Shadow turned away and headed out of the arena, leaving everyone to wonder what the heck had just happened.
