//------------------------------// // A Punishment and a Meeting // Story: Terror in Equestria 8: A New Threat // by StormLuna //------------------------------// Several hours had passed since Twilight headed to the archives and after finding what she was looking for, she was irritated but more determined than ever. The only negative she truly felt was that Celestia would have the audacity to disturb her while she was in the archives. Finally once 1400 arrived, her stomach was growing loudly letting her know that it was well past lunch time. She shut out the lights as she exited the archives and headed back upstairs. While she did look forward to going up to get something to eat, she dreaded having to deal with Celestia as she knew that she would ask her why she was so late. Once she arrived up in the dining hall she would be proven right when Celestia asked, "Twily, are you ok! You're never late for lunch!" Twilight gave her a glare and replied, "Look, your Dark Goddess had studying to do and you should know that when she is busy, she may not run on time." The fact that Twilight had been talking to her like that all day was really bothering Celestia and she wanted to know why. She asked, "Twily, why have you been referring to yourself like that for most of the day? You haven't done that in ages!" Twilight snapped, "You do not address me as Twily, TIA. You address me as Dark Goddess Twilight Sparkle, got it?" This brought Celestia to tears as the last time she made her refer her to that was back when they were adversaries. Celestia began to cry, "What's gotten into you Twilight? First you refer to yourself in a formal way and now you are expecting me to address you formally?" Twilight stormed over to Celestia and smacked her. She yelled, "Oh this is how it's going to be huh? You're going to be the same little crybaby you were when I ran you and Luna out of Canterlot?" Her eyes began to shine a darker green and her voice became more snide as she continued, "Same old crybaby Celestia, wah-wah-wah!" For the first time since before Twilight had defeated Colgate, Celestia was mad at Twilight, truly mad. She yelled, "You know what? I can't deal with this, I'm going to Alicorn Island to be with mom and dad until you lose this attitude." Twilight snapped, "Oh no you're not little filly! You're not going anywhere." She fired a bolt of energy at Celestia, knocked her to the ground and yelled, "This is it Tia, I've had enough of your whining and holding me back!" Celestia began to sob, "What do you mean you've had enough of me holding you back?" Twilight snickered, "You'll see! Oh yes, you'll see!" Celestia looked in horror as Twilight began to glow a darker purple, a black aura formed around her horn and she continued, "You have committed treason and that is not in season, you are a threat to me and I simply can not let that be, I can no longer be annoyed so you shall be cast into the void." She fired a powerful bolt of black energy at Celestia, causing a black vortex to open up and swallow her. Once the vortex closed up and disappeared Twilight was ecstatic. She began to fly around the dining hall cheering, "Yes, yes, yes! Free, I'm finally free! Woo-hoo, now the Dark Goddess Twilight Sparkle can do whatever she wants!" The chef heard her cheers coming from the dining hall. He headed in and asked, "Your Majesty, are you ok?" Twilight happily replied, "Yes, I'm doing much better than I was earlier, much better!" The chef gave her a smile and asked, "Well it is good to see you happy your Majesty but what do you want to eat? I know it is late but what would you like for lunch?" Twilight replied, "Iron Skillet, just call me Twilight please. You know I don't like formalities." She paused for a minute, licked her chops and continued, "Bring me a steak, rare along with some hash browns and a pitcher of cider." She paused for a couple of seconds before continuing, Tell you what, fix yourself something too and join me for lunch. I haven't had a good conversation over a meal in over a thousand years." Iron Skillet replied, "One rare steak, hash browns and a pitcher of cider coming right up." As he headed back into the kitchen Twilight sat in the dining hall filled with happiness and satisfaction. For the first time in over a thousand years, she was able to banish somepony to the void. As she began to remember how much she missed the old days she began to wonder, "Hmmm....I wonder, should I send her parents there too?" After a longer than normal lunch and a good conversation with her chef, Twilight headed out to the base in a good mood. Once she arrived she yelled, "Attention!" Immediately her soldiers stood at attention and were giving her their full, undivided attention. She began, "Well troops, I have some interesting information you might want to know about." General Black Night asked, "What is that?" Twilight continued, "Well I was reading through one of the oldest books I have and apparently there is a group of ponies who have been living undetected deep in the Everfree Forest, dating all the way back to when LaurFa discovered Equestria." Her entire army gasped in shock that she would not have seen them with the great eye. She continued, "Yeah, I know. I'm surprised I never saw them when I surveyed the world everyday." One of the soldiers asked, "Why do you think you never saw them? Do they live underground or something?" Twilight replied, "Actually yes, I think they do. The great eye can see a lot but if they live underground deep in the forest, then it wouldn't be hard for them to escape detection." Green Death asked, "Twilight, I am assuming you want us to march on these ponies and punish them?" Twilight replied, "Not exactly. What I am planning will require that you, Black Night and a few regular soldiers along with myself go out and pay these ponies a visit. I really don't feel like using all my resources on just one small sect of ponies that I could probably handle on my own." Many of the soldiers and even the officers that she had were not even alive back when Twilight fought Colgate for control of the world so they were relieved that there would not be any sort of war where their lives would be put at risk. Black Night asked, "Twilight, so when are we going to do this?" Twilight replied, "We will leave in two days time, for now though, I want you and Green Death to pick the two best soldiers of your kind and I am going to simply kick back and relax." She looked out at her soldiers and asked, "Any other questions?" In unison her forces shouted, "No ma'am!" Twilight gave them a salute and finished, "Dismissed." The two generals immediately headed to their regular soldiers and began to talk with them to figure out which ones would be the best for this mission while Twilight headed back to her black tower. The first place she headed was her bedroom where she saw some of Celestia's possessions, including her delicate feather pillows. Twilight tossed them off the bed and grabbed a couple more of her regular pillows and laughed, "Now that Celestia is out of the way, I can fix this my way and my way alone!"
