//------------------------------// // Just Another Morning in Ponyville // Story: Terror in Equestria 8: A New Threat // by StormLuna //------------------------------// One thousand years had passed since the Dark Goddess Twilight Sparkle had reclaimed the world as her own and for the most part, things were relatively normal. The foals headed to school, the local shops opened up for business, the sun rose over a purple sky and Twilight woke up, holding Celestia close. The only thing different is that for a little over a thousand years, no apples had been harvested from what was once Sweet Apple Acres. By this time Dark Goddess Twilight and Celestia were no longer mere marefriends or lovers, they were married. Twilight broke her embrace from Celestia and headed over to take a look through the green eye to make sure nothing unusual was going on in her world. As she scanned the planet she said, "Well everything here in Equestria looks alright, the Crystal Empire looks fine, Alicorn Island is fine, the Equine Empire is having stormy weather, Saddle Arabia looks boring as normal...." She then took a close look at Neigh Zealand as it was still dark there. She couldn't help but notice that it was no longer glowing green. She finished, "and in Neigh Zealand it looks like the radiation is gone! Yes, now ponies can repopulate that place, woo-hoo!" Twilight's louder than normal speaking finally woke up Celestia. She looked over at Twilight with a smile and asked, "Twily, what's going on? Why are you so happy?" Twilight exclaimed, "Neigh Zealand is finally free of all that radiation! It can finally be repopulated!" Celestia was happy to see Twilight so happy. She got up, embraced her wife and asked, "That's good. I take it you are going to find some officers to send down there to take over things?" Twilight replied, "Yes but also some ponies who are good at growing things. Food will need to be grown before we can repopulate that place with a decent population." Her stomach began to growl and she continued, "Speaking of food, I'm hungry. Let's go down and eat some breakfast." The two headed down to the dining hall, to the same table that had been used by either her or Colgate for the past five thousand years. Things changed not too long after Twilight defeated Colgate as all the soldiers ate at the base and her friends ate at home. Now, Twilight and Celestia eat their meals alone. When the chef noticed they had arrived at the table he asked, "The usual?" In unison both mares nodded yes. While they were waiting for their meal Celestia asked, "So Twily sweetie, what are your plans for the day?" Twilight replied, "Well the first thing I'm going to do is head over to the base and notify my top officers that Neigh Zealand is ready to be repopulated and after that, I plan on going down to the archives to do some studying." Celestia could understand her need to go to the base but she was shocked over her sudden desire to study as she had not done any in quite some time. She asked, "Studying? But Twily, you haven't done any of that in ages and besides, haven't you read every single book down there multiple times?" Twilight replied, "Yes but I have a nagging voice in the back of my head telling me I need to study some of the oldest books down there. Something is telling me that I may have missed something." Celestia sighed, "Well I was kind of hoping that we could have a day where it was just us bonding." This did not sit well with Twilight. She was irritated that Celestia would even mention such a thing, especially given what is going on with Neigh Zealand. She snapped, "Look Celestia, I know you love it when we bond BUT I have business to take care of, maybe sometime when I don't have so much on my plate." Twilight had not snapped like that in some time so it caused Celestia to shy back, "I'm sorry Twily, I didn't mean to anger you." Twilight simply grunted as their meal arrived. Celestia could tell by Twilight's demeanor that until everything in Neigh Zealand was taken care of, that her beloved wife was going to be a bit more like she used to be, unpredictable and very irritable.
