Everything was peaceful in Ponyville, the sun was out and not a cloud in sight. The Main seven inside of Twilight's Castle, standing in front of the mirror to the Human world. "I'm so excited for this," Pinkie Pie, ever the party pony said
"Yeah, you're going to like this world, although may have to get used to walking on two legs," Twilight Sparkle chirped.
"I am gonna miss these guys," Rainbow Dash said hinting to her wings.
"Ah wonder how them humans do their farming?" Applejack said absentmindedly, thinking about her question more than the conversation her friends where having.
"Can you image the fashion and high culture that they must have," Rarity asked with stars in her eye, her mind swarming with ideas only the experienced fashionista can get.
"Oh, I wonder what animals they have," The Fluttershy says as soft as a butterfly.
"I wonder how advanced they are," Starlight Glimmer said, exited at the possibilities of a technology exchange
"Can you imagine their civilization and how it's developed," Twilight gushed
"We get it Twilight, you're excited," Rainbow Dash said chuckling. Although she has been there before she never really had a chance to experience their culture and history properly, trying the save the world leaves very little time for hobbies.
"Sorry, I guess I'm excited about finally studying entirely different species that we don't have on Equis, anyway, I spent a few days making a spell that will allow us to travel somewhere else in the Human world," Twilight said, walking into the mirror becoming the others to follow.

*Afghanistan, January 8th, 1988 near the Paktia Province*
This time traveling through the mirror was significantly more strenuous on then, to the point where they even lost consciousness for a few moments, unlike the smoother transition that happened through the mirror portal to the school. Slowly they awakened.

"Where are we?" Rainbow Dash said looking around, taking in the arid environment that
surrounded them. Taking only a moment to realize that they were still quadrupeds and atop of a mountain.

"I-I don't know! I've never seen anything like this last time," Twilight answered trying to suppress her panic. Taking deep breaths, calming down quickly.
"So we could be anywhere...," Starlight said contemplating what to do next.
"Well this sure doesn't look like Appleloosa or Yakistan," The Apple farmer said.
"We MUST get out of the sun," Rarity moaned, fanning herself to keep cool in the oppressing heat.
"Um, girls whats that," Fluttershy asked, pointing to a hill not too far away. They spotted a strange group the creatures, bipeds in peculiar clothing holding strange objects. A few sitting next to what looked like small cannons not unlike what the Griffons have, pointing more skyward as opposed to the forward facing cannons the Griffons are so fond of.

"Twi, what are those thangs," Applejack asked.
"Well, whoever they are their clothing is abhorrent," The fashionista said turning their nose up at them, not they could see it, or that they would even care.
"Well guys, we can ask them at the party," Pinkie Pie chirped. Only hopping twice before Applejack grabbed her tail, They spy another group of people coming over the hill their clothing was similar but they wore almost wholly black, and they carried identical objects to the first group. The men in black approached the original group of men, and then all hell broke loose.
The men in brown raised the strange objects in their hands and let loose a roar of thunder that cut down the men in black. But it seemed no matter how many the men in brown fell there was always more climbing up the hill.
"Oh my! Surely the brown dressed men will surrender, the numbers simply are not in their favor," explained Rarity. As the battle raged on"They look like humans, so we must be in the right world, but why are haven't we changed as well," Twilight continuing to question what went wrong, now calmed down from the early panic that she felt.
 the fighting grew closer and closer, while some men continued to fire while most of them drew their knives or used their strange objects as clubs. One of the brown dressed men pulled what appeared to be a ball of some sort and held it close to him as if he was hiding a valuable jewel from those around him. It didn't take long for a few of the black dressed men to close in on him and once they were within a meter of the man he screamed something in some strange language and thrust his hand into the sky silhouetting it in front of the sun only to have the device in his hand explode a moment later killing him and the men around him.
More brown men appeared from a trench in the hill, apparently wounded and covered in banged. One of the men, his chest covered in bloodied banged picked up what seemed to be a larger version of the weapons that the others were using, with a green box attached to the bottom of his he let out a war cry and like the other, his weapon roared to life cutting down his foes.

Fluttershy, who broke down into tears the moment this stated, cried out "Why are they doing this!?"
Not a moment after that they hear a loud chopping sound and strange metal beast appear over the hill, in a moment the fighting was over as the peculiar machine nearly destroyed the mountain, leaving the ponies almost deaf.
"We must leave this horrible place," the fashionista demanded, her eyeliner was wet from crying, although she had her fair share of fighting and bled she has never even heard of something like this.
The entire group was devastated, Applejack and Rainbow Dash where wholly shocked and quietly stood there trying to process the ridiculous amount of information they consumed. Rarity at this point couldn't handle it anymore and broke down with Fluttershy int tears. While Twilight Sparkle and Starlight Glimmer only sat there in stunned silence, going over everything about warfare that they have ever learned, Equestria has not seen any significant conflict after the end of the war with the Griffins, and even then it was never as bad as it was here.
Twilight Sparkle, deciding that it is time to leave, teleports her and her friends back to her castle.
